Zurrgg's trusted monitor dies in a blaze of glory!!!!

Still somewhere in the depths of Mossflower Woods....
Oz is a bit into the woods, keeping up with dibbuns all day keeps one in fairly good shape, but he also has to go slow and follow the directions of the dibbun, he is by now all turned around, lost and very worn out.
Pip frowns every so often saying "Weft...Wring...tree in ways!!" He whimpers and clings onto to his back "No slow...go go...gonna find us!"
Ripfang hissses as he has followed them fairly close, once he had to go around a log but he is far from tired, "You can't run foreversssssssssssssssss......death it comesssssssssssssssss!!"
Blisa and her bodyguards are traveling slowly, dragging the cart of their irreplaceable possessions behind them. Basilisk is also with them, and he is somehow managing to eat a cheesebun and slither along at the same time. Valerie perks up at the faint sounds behind them and turns, stopping in her tracks. "Do you hera that?" Ferdinand immediately draws his sabre. "No, what?" Hank, Statler, and Waldo stop pulling the cart and get their weapons out. Clarissa and Cerah, meanwhile, are scouting ahead of the group. Blisa turns, trying to stay in the moment and not slip back into the deep darkness in her heart again.
Oz pants and tries to listens to any sounds around him...a creek, a bird anything and what he hears only puts him on edge. Normally he be a little braver but when he can't tell where he is and has gone in circles, its not a good thing and only luck has helped him avoid the monitor so far, he backs up unknowingly to a small little drop off, about 6-8 foot and gasps as he loses his footing his first reaction is to wrap his arms around the dibbun and protect it as they roll and stumble down the little bit of the hill, he slams into an old tree stump and groans as he passes out.
Pip clings onto the badger and screams as they roll down the hill and then whimpers, he pokes him "Wake up...gotta get ups!"
Ripfang grins as that is all he needs to find them and jumps onto a tree and then a side path as he walks up behind them and looks down baring his fangs "Is he unconsciousssssssssssssss....good but your welcomessss to ssssscream still as you die" Claws and fangs out, he is ready to slay.
The group hears the scream and most of them take off, only Statler and Waldo staying with the wagon. Blisa hops on top of her pet, who quickly leaves the rest of the bodyguards behind. Basilisk appears on the scene, and the cat gasps and points to the monitor. "Get 'im, Basil!" The snake needs no second bidding, and he lunges forward, aiming to wrap his coils around the other reptile. Ferdinand, Valerie, and Hank arrive on the scene next, and the ferret (with his sabre) and the fox (with his battleaxe) charge for the monitor, too. Valerie tries to get behind the fighting and comes up to the badger and rabbit, saying, "It's okay, we're to help you! It'll all be alright!"
Oz is unconscious. He is alive and not injured badly just cuts, scrapes and a bump on the back of his head where he was knocked out, luckily not too bad of a bump as he groans a little now, but is only semi awake.
Pip only backs up and looks around at the vermin, its all he sees is vermin and curls against the tree trunk.
Ripfang goes to coil and leap at Oz ready to slice a claw across his throat when the snakes wraps around the monitor and his claws go across the snakes skin as he hisses loudly. The lizard's powerful tail lashes out to slam into who ever is closer and he goes to snap his jaws at any beast else. One blade cuts into his arm and only seems to anger the monitor even more so!
Hank the fox gets hit by the tail and falls over, out of breath. Ouch. Basil begins to squeeze as hard as he can, which is hard enough to kill in very short order. Blisa draws her dirk and goes to stab at the monitor, swallowing her fear. Ferdinand tries to stab the monitor with his sabre. Valerie the vixen kneels down beside the badger and checks on him to make sure that he is okay. Smiling at the rabbit Dibbun, she murmurs, "I'm Valerie, and we're gonna get you out of here and to Redwall as soon as we can."
Oz groans, semi conscious as he mutters something, "Z...Zurrggg......" Yeah he is still a little ways from waking and may of also knocked his shoulder out of place in the fall down that hill.
Pip frowns "You...nooo tricking me you works for the bad kitty that killed mommy and daddy and friends..."
Ripfang hissses, claws and bites as the snake squeezes harder. Its then look of panic forms and he tries even harder to get loosen, he feels the ferret stab him in the back and the cat gets him in the throat, his tail goes sort of limp as he claws at the forest floor when he tries to get away again, the clawing slows and comes to a stop as the lizard's life ends right where he lies.
"Nah, I'm pretty sure she doesn't work for th' bad kitty." The words drift out of the trees, and soon a rustling of leafs can be heard as a squirrel drops down, a crossbow held in his paws. "Bad kitty. I think I've found a new name for Zurrgg." John says with a grin as he walks over to the group. "Well. This makes th' abbey's job easier - w'were just brainstorming last night on how t' get Oz back, an' if y' an' your snake would be of any help, lass. Which," here he gestures to the now dead monitor, "Seems t'be th' case."
Blisa turns to the squirrel, eyes wide and slightly unfocused. Other than that, she doesn't seem to be very responsive, all of a sudden. Valerie bites her lip and pulls out a flask of something nasty tasting and holds it to the badger's lips. "Here. Sip this, please." Clarissa the rat and Cerah the ermine come dashing into the scene....and then pause when they see that the danger is over. "Aw, man....I guess you don't need out help, then?" asks a very disappointed ratmaid. Cerah hurries over to the cat and starts murmuring to her. Basil releases the dead monitor and starts poking the body. "Sssss....issss it cannibalisssssssssssssm for me to eat a lizssssard??" Ferdinand straightens up and smiles at the squirrel. "I thould think we could help."
Oz starts to come awake some and makes a face at the liquid but he does drink some of it and coughs as he makes out voices and frowns as he comes more awake now. Not seeing is annoying at times like this... "Where...am I...who all is here?"
Pip looks at all the beasts and still seems unsure who to trust just clings onto Oz again and stares wide eyed at all the ones gathered here.
John turns to the Badger, slinging the crossbow over his shoulder. "Friends, mate. Friends. Y'll be back at th' abbey soon enough." The squirrel turns to face Ferdinand. "And y' have - th' lizard was one of 'Bad Kitty's' beasts, and probably th' only one that was a threat." He glances over at the snake, uneasily, but doesn't answer his question, instead looking over the others around him. "Right then... We should probably get back t' the abbey, now. I can imagine Lee an' Magramba will be happy about this."
Blisa shudders and focuses on the squirrel's face. "We....we'll get to the Abbey here soon. We...need to..." "We need to do thomething firtht," Comes Ferdinand's inurruption. "We'll be thafe, don't worry. You go ahead and take the word back to Redwall." Basilisk seems to decide that it would be cannibilism and slithers off without the lizard body, the young cat riding on his back. Valerie murmurs the list of beasts present to the badger. Hank and Cerah drag the body to the road for Zurrgg to find. Clarissa and the ferret will help with Oz when he's ready to move, but if he goes back to the Abbey with the squirrel, they'll just rejoin the rest of their group. The ratmaid offers the baby bunny a very clean blankie from her haversack.
