What is this even? (An IC Ferravale Log)
Ferravale Tavern
Jase the cat. Blisa the cat, Ferdinand the ferret, and Valerie the vixen. Liam the marten, a crowd of 'friends', and Markus the fox. marek the stoat.
Jase steps into the tavern, he needs some time off from his job and it is close to lunch time after all. He finds a table to sit at and yawns a little, tried maybe it seems.
Blisa enters soon after him, trailed closely by Ferdinand and Valerie. They seem to be discussing something of great importance, because none of them are smiling. They walk right past the Master Healer's table, and none of them seem to notice him.
Jase watches Blisa from where he is sitting, but he doesn't get up to follow her, he stays where he is at his table and gets an ale from a passing tavern worker and looks to see who else is in the room.
Blisa suddenly does a double take, turns, and spots the other cat. Her face breaks into a smile, and she heads back to where he is, her bodyguards following close behind. "Well, hello! I didn't see you there," she adds awkwardly.
Jase nods, he smiles as she smiles and then clears his throat "I do hoe all is well miss Blisa, or just your normal day in Ferravale?"
Blisa opens her mouth to answer, then hesitates. She sits down and sighs. Her bodyguards sit on either side of her, Ferdinand murmuring, "I'm afraid we can't thay. Hopefully we'll be able to fix it before it gets any worthe. Jutht......be on your guard. More than you uthually are."
Jase frowns "Possible injuries I am guessing, I can handle most beasts who come in injured"
Blisa compulsively goes to lay a paw on the Master Healer's arm. "Just make sure that /you're/ not the one who gets injured, okay?" She then blushes and hides her paws in her lap. As she gazes at the table top, Valerie nods. "Yeah, you need to watch out for /you/ okay? Aswell as your patients."
Jase smiles a little, "I...well I will but let's hope the healer doesn't end up needing a healer, that is not always a good thing."
Valerie nods. "Well, if you ever end up needing one, just come to me. I'll help you." Blisa looks up and asks, "So, um, how's your day going?" Yes! Change the subject! Good thinking.
Jase smiles "Well, its been a fair day. A guard stubbed their toe kicking a wall some reason and one resident has a cold. Other than that not a bad day"
Blisa nods. "They were probably drunk, and that's why they kicked the wall. Drunk beasts do weird things.....oh! Basil, my snake, has a new hat that I made him. He hates it."
And then there were martens. Actually only one marten but Liam had enough marten to go around to count as two beasts...even three! Entering the tavern at a slow, leisurely pace is a very rotund beast. Despite his girth he clothes himself in fine silks, a red vest left open simply to save cost at the tailor. The joyful beast strides confidently towards the bar.
Jase says, "True, drunk beasts also have the oddest fights. Saw a weasel arguing with a tree once, he claimed the tree stole his ale.""
Blisa giggles. "Drunk beasts are weird. I should get Basil drunk and see wh--" "NO." Valerie and Ferdinand interrupt her at the same time. The cat slumps slightly, but there's a twinkle in her eyes from her enjoyment of her little idea.
Drink secured at the bar the obese pine marten moves towards the table full of beastly body guards and cats. "Well good afternoon!" Liam says in a smooth voice. He takes a bow that would be far more grand and sweeping if his belly didn't hang inches from the floor. "How does the day find our fair chieftain's daughter, and friends." He says with a toothy smile.
Jase frowns "Yeah a drunk snake could be very dangerous"
Blisa sighs and rests her elbows on the tabletop. "Well, /I/ thought it'd be funny....." Ferdinand waves at the Innkeeper (he's still Innkeeper, right?) as Valerie calls out, "Oh, we're fine, thanks. How are you this fine, if slightly chilly, day?"
Liam stops himself short from saying, 'there is a chill?' For he does not make jokes about his own insulated build. Still standing the marten chuckles instead, "I am just fine. The inn is running smoothly, my vineyard to the south is producing some fine wine and I haven't seen fur or tail of that bothersome rrrat." The marten scowls. "And I do have to agree with Blisa. Getting the snake drunk will certainly be entertaining. Most things that prove fatal in the end usually are..."
Jase says, "Well least it isn't snowing yet and most likely won't for a few weeks yet"
Blisa points at the marten in the beginnings of an agreement, but then she gets distracted. "SNOW! I LOVE snow! It's the most beautiful and wonderful and amazing and best thing in the whole world!!!" Her face is wreathed in smiles. Valerie glares at the Inkeeper. "Okay, fine, you get him drunk and see if he eats you." Deadpan. Completely. Either that, or she's being serious.
The marten shivers at the thought of being eaten by a snake, he still manages to keep a smile though, "I wonder if the snake is still able to eat a beast as...healthy as I am. Heh, still, it would beat being eaten by an eagle I suppose. Speaking of eating are you lot having dinner? Perhaps I can join and-"
Just then the door to the tavern opens. A flock of various beasts both vermin and woodlander rush into the tavern. They are all wearing sack cloth and simple garments. With little warning they grab ahold of the pine marten, surrounding him and raising him above their shoulders into the air...which is a miracle in itself...and then struggle to carry the heavy beast back out the door...
Jase blinks at this...sudden rush of beasts, ok...they either like or hate the inn keeper.
Marek is just coming down the steps leading to the tavern office when he catches the tail end of the group of beasts exiting.
Blisa leaps to her feet and shouts, "PUT HIM BACK DOWN! At once! Or I shall get Basil to make you all behave! What is the meaning of this??" Valerie is just too shocked that they group was actually able to lift the obese (coughfatcough) marten off the ground. Ferdinand stands, paw on sabre hilt.
Jase looks in too much shock to say anything, and he is not a fighter type really unless he has to be, he just...well, hopes some one else helps soon.
"Unhand me! Unhand me this instant!" The marten shouts, the group of beasts is at the door, currently trying to add up the odds of getting the portly fellow through the door before the village guards get to them. Finally one of the beasts says with a hiss, "It's the only way to save the village!" The young pot bellied weasel looks...familiar...it's Wesly! Wesly the weasely guard! With out further adue the beasts try to flee with their prize, getting caught on the door as the marten flails his limbs about, kicking, screaming ranting. A great shout of effort arises from the dozen or so beasts as they struggle to get Liam through the door.
Marek walks the rest of the way down the steps, he is still not remembering much but something seems to disturb him when they seem close to breaking the door, "If ya break the door you pay for it!!" He is unsure why but he seriously means what he says, it is HIS tavern after all.
Blisa stalks over, drawing her dirk and dagger, and start lashing out at beasts with the flat of her blades. "Release him at once or you will ALL be tried for High Treason against the ruling family of Ferravale!" Ferdinand draws his sabre and starts lashing out at the carry-ers. Valerie stands, still a bit too in shock to really do anything.
The beasts let out a terrible shriek. Being Ferrevale peasants and town folk they quickly run and scatter when the weapons come out. In their haste to leave the tavern they drop Liam on his head.
"You can't stop us forever! The eagles will come for you! They will come for you ALL!" Wesly shouts as he dashes out the door, brushing past a burly red fox sipping a cup of tea as he enters the room. The quartermaster turned impromptu head guard stares after the weasel, then to Liam then the assortment of Liam's rescuers. "The Blazes?" the fox shouts.
Marek rolls his eyes, "Then we can have roast eagle for a meal." He then sits down, hey he is not always working, he has other workers for that !
Blisa stomps her foot. "They were trying to kidnap our Innkeeper and do who-knows-what to him! That was Wesly, wasn't it?? Have you known where he's been this whole time??" Valerie rushes forward and starts checking on the marten, making sure he's not, like, dead or something. Ferdinand sheathes his sabre and begins rubbing his forehead. "What wath that even......?"
"I see stars..." The marten rolls his head back and forth until he shakes it clear. "And how would I know where Wesly has been?" The fox practically hisses. "Blast it, right as I get off shift too. Curse that weasel!" The job is starting to show its wear and tear on the fox. His fur is frazzled, he seems to have lost weight, and his eyes are blood shot from lack of sleep.
"I'll go after him. You lot just go back to being relatively useful here." The fox turns and squints his eyes shut, knowing that he just opened his great big mouth. Blast. "I'll...I'll got get some guards to hunt for that weasel..."
The marten struggles to get to his feet, "Well then...that was...interesting. Hey, Marak! Nearly being kidnapped grants a patron a free drink or waffle...right?" He says with a laugh, gingerly clutching his head.
Marek frowns at Liam, yeah he is off duty so good luck with that.
Blisa sheathes her weapons and points a warning finger at the fox. "Watch it." Ferdinand lays a paw on her shoulder and says soothingly, "We trutht that you'll do your betht." Valerie shakes her head as she goes to shove the marten back into a sitting position. "Lemme check your head, y'big oaf."
