The Letter - The Great Willow Library

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: Kassle, Philio

Location: Camp Willow; Willow Tree Library

Kassle is at one of the desks. Of course, that means her back is to most of the rest of the room. She has a pot of ink, plus quill, several sheets of vegetable parchment and a curious rolled up letter. From the broken seal, she's already opened at read it at least once. Just above the top half of the broken wax, dry dark ink scratches out 'H. Kassle'. The ottermaid's paw flows over one of her sheets, with one previously filled.

An otter is on the search. In an effort of hunt down Kass at both mess and infirmary. And she, not being either place. Philio's detective work has lead him here. If there is a will to find her. By golly, Phil will find it, and exploit it. After talking to a few beasts. And after following a few dead ends. It finally leads him here. To the library. He sniffs around and paws some of the books, before beginning his search. Starting at the middle with the numerous shelves, and working his way around slowly. The lack of many beasts here causes him to lightly hum his favorite tune.

Scratch, scratch, scratch. Blue eyes peer and recheck her words, dabbing the quill in ink pot, then blotting on parchment. Words spill over the page and she's closing in on filling this sheet too. Her ears twitch, but she's very distracted by her work. Suddenly, she leaves a big space on the sheet before continuing closer to the bottom of the page; illustration space.

Philio continues to follow the shelves in a swirl pattern. Its gets the a shelf right between Kass and himself. He blinks, hearing the scratching, tries to look over a few of the books. With no luck, he continues to follow the pattern until he finally reaches to where he can see her. He smiles, and his rudder begins to twitch, "Hey..." he whispers, "Whisper whisper..." he chuckles quietly before making his way over. He thinks he made himself clear enough.

"Huh, wh-?" Kassle turns her head quickly, looking for the whisperer, then turns her head again before finding him. She smiles, places the quill in it's pot and pushes her letter sheets up away slightly as she turns, pushing the rolled up one addressed to her to the side of the other sheets. "Hey" She greets, turning further. "You're in the library." Stating the obvious.

Philio eyes peer over at the sheets. But she pushed them away quicker than he could get a chance, and didn't get to see anything. If much. He smiles at her and kisses her on the cheek before chuckling, "I know. Its crazy. Haven't been down here in ages. But a few birdies told me you might be down there. I've been looking for you..." he nods toward the paper, "What you working on?"

"Hm? And all this paper and writing? It's not scaring you into fleeing, I see." She teases turning her cheek up to accept the kiss. "Birdies? I don't know many of them bar those who bring my letters. Which, coincidently, is what I am working on. Letters. Someone from the Broadstream wrote to me."

Philio goes wide eyed at the paper and hides his eyes, "Argh! Paper! Writing! There gonna get meh!" he laughs. All in jest of course. He smirks before trying to look at the paper again. And once again, not seeing much, "Birdies-Otters who cant keep a secret-Otter who told me you went this way. Same thing." he chuckles, "... Oh really? Letters? From who?" he asks, politely as he can.

Kassle frowns slightly. "Otter-birdies? Hm. I'm more known than I know people... I probably couldn't name any of the people who've been here who might have seen me in here." She taps a claw, turning back to grab the letter sent to her. "This," She looks a little more serious "Was sent by an old neighbour. Who has an ill daughter."

Philio puts a paw on his hip, "Well. I asked about a blue-eyed beauty. and it lead me to you!" he chuckles, "Kidding. Though i could have... You are more well known then you think. Cook healer. You make yourself quite well known for an otter who has only been here a few weeks." he smirks, and glances at the letter in her paws, "... Ah... From your old p-..." he clears his throat, "Is she alright?"

"She'll be fine. Most likely before I even send this letter back. But I'll send it, just in case. Along with a drawing of what's made her sick." Kassle bites her lower lip for a moment. "At least. I think she'll be fine. It all depends on what's been done since she got sick." She puts the letter back, running a claw over the 'H' in the address gently, before smirking to herself with a slight inhale of amusement. "I'm well known for... Hmph. Yes. I should have gotten that. The food, especially."

Philio nods and rubs his chin, "Do you think you have to go and see her? Just in case. Is there a healer up there?, i mean..." his eyes glance to the 'H' and he blinks confusedly. He turns back to her eyes. He smirks and nudges her, "Your food is very good. Its the talk of the town. Should be very proud." he finally asks, "Whats with the H... Im guessing thats your first name?"

"I... I can't decide. It's either illness A; nice and simple, probably already cleared up as my letter reaches them, or Illness B; which will only get worse each day. For... a few weeks, maybe a month. No. No real healer up there anymore. Well, none who would treat an otter, I imagine." There's a corner of her mouth that twitches up with his praise of her food, but then her eyes catch the 'H', and her claw, as he asks of it. She nods to that.

Philio scratches his chin, "Well. If its b. Are you gonna go up there and try to help her?" he asks. He then tilts his head at her at the last part, "...Its... Its okay... You don't have to tell me yet. I will still call you Kass either way." he smiles, "My family name is 'Lancen'... Just to make it even. Philio Lancen... Fisher otters..." he smiles.

"It's old fashioned." Kass' twitches her whiskers, regarding her name. Then seems to be considering something. "I think... I think I may have to go up there. If it's B. But, even with birds, letters are days apart. I've asked a few more questions about it in the letter I'm sending back... I'll know which with the reply but if it is B, then I'll want to leave that same day."

"If you are leaving... Then I'm going with you." Philio says, "If your going. I want to go with you. I want to help if i can. I want... to be with you..." he ergs and quickly adds, "...And help..." he smiles weakly, "When will you know?" he is assuming a few more days for the reply to get back.

"I thought you might. I toyed with asking you. But that wouldn't be fair. And. I don't know yet if it's 'A' or 'B'." She smiles and taps a claw, obviously considering some things. "I would /very/ much like you to come if I need to go there. But... only to a certain point. I'll need to go into my old home."

Philio smiles and takes a tiny step closer, "You can ask me to do anything. Think nothing of it... and I will gladly do it..." he kisses her cheek again. He then tilts his head at her once again, "... Okay. That's fine... but i have a question..." he takes her paw, "Why... Why do you always hide your past from me... I want to know more about you... Even the things you don't...." he smiles and nods slowly, "If you don't want to say anything that's okay..."

"A question..?" She listens and tilts her head slightly. "A good question. A why. Hm. And a reminder that I need to be better at hiding my hiding." Kassle taps her claws, turning back to the desk. "I... want to be judged for my 'now', not my 'past'. Behavior, not history. But, maybe I hide too much. I... /trust/ you."

"You trust me?" he smiles, "Listen. You can tell me anything. I like you. A lot. For who you are. Right now. Your perfect now. And even if you were something else then. I don't care. Cause i only care for the you, now. But you have to understand that i get confused when you hide things from me... I just want to know..." he sighs, "And ill think nothing of it... and keep it to myself..." he smiles deeply at her.

There's a long, long, long pause. There's much tapping of claws and a long stare from Kassle at the letter rolled in front of her. Slowly, her claw reaches out once more and traces over the 'H', then she taps the middle of the letter. Finally she exhales, inhales and exhales again. "Okay. So." She turns and offers a paw. "Henrietta Kassle."

Philio watches her intently and gulps a few times. Wondering if he said something wrong. Then his head then goes back when she turns, "... Henrietta? Really... That's... That's..." he kisses her for real this time, "...Is very beautiful. Kass..." After the kiss. He shakes her paw with a laugh, "Hi! I'm Philio Lancen! Pleasure to meet you."

Kassle blinks and slowly smiles after the kiss. She loosens to let him shake her paw, letting some tension flow away, but still seems rather embarrassed. "It... is? But it's so... old fashioned." She can't help laughing though, as he reintroduces himself. "Pleasure to meet you as well, though."

Philio wrinkles his nose at her, "Well yah. But its one of the oldie but goodie names. You never hear it anymore. I think your the first i've heard with that name. And i know a lot." he chuckles, "And it just seems to fit you. And it is a very beautiful name." he sighs happily at her, "So. Why did you hide it?" he asks.

"Guess I was just embarrassed by it, perhaps." She muses, turning back to her letter to trace the 'H'. "It was my Grandmother's before it was mine, and I've never quite... Never really lived up to her name, in the eyes of the family, nor myself, so... It seems an embarrassing name to carry."

Philio tilts his head, "Was your grandmother like super granny then? Sorry." he pulls at his chin, "... Its not my place to talk about other families. But. Your family should know. That no one is perfect. And living up to standards of others is up to the beast..." he points to her, "... and not the family. I mean. Do you like the name? Then thats all that matters. And look at you know. Your like the pride of camp willow right now. What would your granny think now."

"She would tell me that I'm too soft, too trusting and that I should be paying more attention to my work than worrying over beasts or personal problems." Kassle smirks, she starts to read over the sheets of letter she's already written and decides it only needs the drawing now. Thus she signs it, H. Kassle. "She was very intelligent, but not always very nice."

"Hey. If you were to hard. Not trusting. And didn't care for beasts. That's. Are just terrible traits." Philio points out, "...And. I probably... would not like you." he sighs, "That's what i like about you. Is that, well, you are those things. And i think that makes you perfect." he pulls at his chin, "Was your granny... kinda bitter as well?" he asks.

Kassle smiles kindly and reaches out for his paw. "Thankyou." She says and considers for a moment. "Kind of? Hm. She'd come across that way. She worked with poisons; I once overheard someone say that they 'rubbed off' on her. That she was as nasty as what she worked with. I don't think so though; she just didn't like other beasts. Hm. From you though, I can't imagine you have a grumpy relative in existance... Too nice."

Philio smiles as his paw is taken, and he goes to squeeze and rubs it, "Well. I was just wondering. I mean. Life is more than just work. You can have fun too you know. but working with poisons. I can see how she could come off that way." he smiles leaning closer, "Well. My only relative here now is... my dad. And he is just like me." he moves his paw under his nose, "Has a really big mustache." he nods a bit, "all the rest have either moved. or... is no longer here." he smiles, "But thanks. Its nice... to be nice. Specially to you." he then smiles awkwardly.

"Your Dad? Hm. Moustache but not the beard? You have the set then, between you." Kassle smirks, squeezing back slightly. "I bet he's proud of you though. You're a good otter, at what you do, as well as being nice. And I'm glad you like being nice." Smirk is more smile now. "It really is much appreciated."

"That's exactly what he said. Odd." Philio chuckles, "Yeah... he is... But i think. Mostly though. Out of all my older sisters and brother... Im the only one that stayed with him." he shrugs, "And maybe partly for the fact im nice. And very very good, i might add, at our job. Wasn't very specific was he..." he squeezes her paw again, going to smile deeply at her, "Hey. Now what kind of nice otter would i be, if i wasn't so nice to you!" he chuckles.

"If I were you I'd choose all of those. Then you have even more to be proud of." Kassle smirks again "And it all sounds true, so there's a bonus." She laughs at the last part lightly and pokes her tongue out. "Discriminatorily nice. A nice otter who didn't like me."

"Gee thanks." Philio chuckles, "... Okay. Ill choose them all. Just for kicks and giggles. And you know what. Im all that. And i even have time for fun..." he smirks at her, before his head goes back at the word, "Dis...crimin-na-torily..." he blinks at her, "If that means that i was being selective. Then. Hey. I cant help it. Your such, so darn beautiful... Im still a nice otter all around anyway. Just like you, Kass."

"Like me?" She snorts slightly, and smirks. "I enjoy my work, I like to cook and healing helps beasts, but it's also interesting. I'm not so sure that I'm nice, as much as I just happen to like what I do. I like other beasts, but I don't think I can accuse myself of /trying/ to be nice to them." That just happens.

Philio eyes her for a little bit, trying to figure it out. This runs through his head, 'Okay. What if you saw her. And didn't have heart pains from just looking at her. She... Would be like any other otter' He blinks at the revelation and says, "Well. Your pretty nice to me. And for me at least. That's everything i could ever want. And its not like your a mean beast! Is all im saying." he points out.

Kassle smirks. "Hm. I guess I am nice to you, especially. But then," She points out, with a head tilt "That's all about returning in kind too. You're nice to me, you like me, I'm nice to you in return, and I like you. Just so happens we seem to like eachother that bit more than we like everyone else. Not to say I dislike anyone, not here anyway, but, well. I hope I made some sense there."

Philio chuckles and nods at her, "Yea. I get it. We like each other. Therefore we are nice to each other... I think..." he goes cross-eyed thinking about it. After a bit he shrugs, "I guess it really doesn't matter... Anyway..." he looks all over her face, "Uhh.... What were we talking about..." he laughs with a smile.

"Oh, quite a lot of things in the end." She replies, and launches into a very quick sketch of a plant to complete her letter while she talks. "We've covered my home holt, a neighbour with an ill daughter, my first name, my grandmother, your father, your beard, your father's moustache, the topic of you being nice, and our interactions with other otter... And we established we like eachother." She smirks "Do you think we missed anything? Nature of the universe, maybe?"

Philio watches her start to draw the plant. A smiles appears as his eyes move with her paw, back and forth as he answers, "Is that it? No i don't think so. And the nature of the universe?... Maybe some other time...Hrm... Then that brings me to another question from before. I can guess. But why don't you want me to go with you... when you do in fact, get to your holt." he waves his paw over the desk, "This is of course. If we do go."

"Honestly?" The ottermaid pauses, mid charcoal-stroke, leaving the plant a little 'twiggy'. "Two reasons," Kassle offers "Firstly; It's... my history. Selfish, I know, but I have my reasons. More importantly; if it is... 'b', then, well, I don't want you to end up with it."

Philio has a tiny frown on his face, for a spilt second, before nodding, "...Okay. I understand. I mean. I DO want to know. All the secrecy is making me... Well, curious. Maybe you can tell me later, you know. Though i still consider finding out your first name a win on yours and my part!" he then smiles at the next part, then with a snort, "I'm mister immunity over here! Flu? Stomach virus? Bring them on i say..." he leans in a bit closer, "...But for you. Alright. Must be bad then." he ergs at the thought.

"Imagine your limbs aching and burning so much that you fear to move them- hot lumps along the joints, filled with pus and blood." She's slowly starting to draw again. "These appearing only a day or less after a beast should cough upon you, or touch you. Then, unable to focus your thoughts; delirium, hallucinations, unable to regulate temperature so you go from hot to cold in an instant, but never comfortable. Your paws and footpaws tingling like a hundred neddles are trying to get it. Every single joint flaring red and black and purple; bruised and not bruised at the same time, but feeling like they've been filled with the hottest hotroot soup you can thick of. Clouded vision, slowly turning to blindness while headaches flare all throughout your head and resonate into your nose, ears and flare into your throat... Unable to control your lips properly, forever thirsty, and with a burning sick stomach and no control over... well, certain processes." She's done with her drawing and turns to look at him. "

"Thankyou, for agreeing to stay out, for me. Because just one cough, one touch, could be enough to give you those things. Secrecy or not, your health is more important."

Philio listens as she speaks. And when she is through. The look on his face is priceless. Its one where he is grossed out beyond imagined. His face cannot contain it, but it certainly tries. Nothing can top it. It'd be downright hilarious if one was just to walk in, "Umm... Well... That sounds. Well umm. Just awful." he feels very unclean and absentmindedly starts to wipe his body. Like he got it now, "What is that? That sounds like a plague of some sort..." he he still wiping his body, and starts to spasm out oddly. It wont come off! "Well. What about you. I don't want you to get sick either... I mean..." he trails off. Congratulations, you have successfully grossed out a beast who has to clean and gut fishes everyday.

"I'm sure I'll be fine. After all I-" She shakes her head slightly and measures her pace, changing tone slightly, and possibly the track of her sentence. "After all I spend most days seeing ill beasts." She nods then. "A plague is right. But it's... fightable. Curable, sometimes. Different to that one they had at the abbey- I heard about that. Sounded very unusual, and most likely deliberate. Anyway," Again shakes her head, she's getting off track. "From the look on your face and your body language; I don't think I need to worry about you getting too close. If we do have to go. Everything is still and 'If', after all."

Philio has to get up, and he jiggles all his limps around. Yes, he is a strange character. He twists his head a few time before looking back at Kass, his body seeing to calm down now from before at the spasm, "Yea. I heard the one there. It was bad. But... Most made it through eventually. We even sent some otters up there to help. Some... didn't come back..." he hrms, "...You say that now... But a plague? This is..." he steps closer and he looks a bit down at her, "...But even the best are not immune to everything. And i would still go. If you asked me too..." he moves his head closer, whispering loudly "Tell me. Tell me that you wont get sick. Promise me, alright... I just need to..." he sighs and closes his eyes.

"That. Is a very awkward thing to promise, Philio... Everybody gets an illness sometimes. I can try my very best though." Kassle stands too, as she watches him... pacing and fidgeting and then moving back to her. "I can promise though, that it is extremely unlikely that I will end up with this plague. Which I intend to stop from becoming more of a plague. Unless it spreads a lot, it's just an illness."

The otter watches her eyes. As if piercing her mind. He just stands there, then "... Okay." Philio says after a long while. His mind trying to run everything that could happen. He blinks, as he hates it. Taking a few breaths of air. Trying to cleanses himself before speaking again, "...Okay... yeah. I was asking too much. I just don't want. I don't think i..." he shakes his head, "... You better stop it. And not get sick..." he takes another breath, "I would d-..." he stops himself and then nods, "Thank you. Please don't get sick... This is all if... you know."

Kassle smiles kindly and moves to offer a hug. "I will do my very best not to. And, with a healer's 'very best', that has to be a good chance, right?" Her own eyes searching for his now. "You know I've got to ask for the same promise now, right? It's the rules." Humorous, but kindly.

Philio first blinks at the hug. Before smiling warmly, and wrapping his arms to return it in kind. He chuckles a bit, as he squeezes her "Heh. I guess your right. I mean. You know best, and all that...." he then looks back into her eyes, nosing her nose a bit, "... What? That i wont get sick?" he smiles, "Now that. I do promise. Kinda helps that i wont be there. But yeah." he grins, as he still hugs her. Its nice.

"Oh, you do promise, huh?" Kassle grins at him, squeezing back slightly, before turning to reach for her letters and paper. "Well, that's a promise I really can help you keep, too, after all." She points out with a smirk. "Anyway. Everything is still an 'if'. I still need to find a bird to send these."

Philio smiles at her, "Yea i promise. Cause i have the best healer in the world right here..." one more little nose, "Just in case..." before he grumpily lets her go, so she can retrieve the letters. He nods a bit as he goes back to the desk and leans on it, "Oh yeah. An 'if'... One can hope" he chuckles. He wants to go with her. A trip with her would be perfect. "... Still. That's a little if, by the description you gave me." he nods a bit, "Ah. A birdie then. Need one? or you got it covered?" he asks generally.

"Need one. I can never get the ones who deliver to stick around while I write the reply. My holt always uses the dippers and the robins; not really the type to stay in one place for too long. Dart off after anything once they get bored." She replies, wrapping string around the letters she's written, before reaching for a candle to seal it into place, folded neatly.

Philio pulls at his chin, "Well. We can go see if there is any hanging around the tavern... or outside in the willow tree..." he gets off the desk and smiles, "That happens all to often. Usually a bag full-o-nuts would be enough to stave them... got a bag of candied chestnuts... right? Or are you gonna use your amazing persuasion to deliver the letter?" he asks, watching her seal the letter. Its interesting, really.

Last, she grabs one last sheet of paper and folds it into a pouch, sealing it up again, one end open, to drop the letter into it. "Erm. Well. I'm sure there's something they'll like in the kitchen. I usually have something to bribe them." The otter seems happy with her pouch, and folds the last end down, forming a loose package. That should protect the letter from twigs and such, if the bird goes low.

"Well alright then. See if we can wrangle us up a sparrow. Then..." Philio starts to move backwards toward the door, keeping his eyes on her at all times,. Course he is. Then he is going to ask her another question. Why he went looking for her in the first place. "Then.. perhaps. If your not busy. You would like to come to my house for dinner?" he asks with a big ole smile on his face. Little does the otter know he is about to run into a bookshelf.

"A sparrow sounds good, but I couldn't eat a whole one. Besides, we need a bird to deliver this," She jokes, holding up her letter, than grinning as she watches him. "Well... That depends if you feel better, I think. I mean, we might have to eat in the infirmary if you bump your head..."

Philio rolls his eyes and chuckles, "You know what i meant, you. Great furry jokester." He raises an eyebrow at the next part, "Wait? What? Bumb my-?" he uffs hitting the shelf hard. He falls forward, but manages to catch himself easily, just in time to get away as the shelf rocks back and forth precariously. Phil ergs and tries to hold the side still, "Dontfall dontfall dontfall dontfall" Its like the domino effect if it does.

Kassle shakes her head, grabs her staff, and walks over to jam it under one of the shelves, bracing it with the floor for a moment. She's seen the shelves are a softer wood than her staff, and feels quite confident about the outcome. "Maybe we should get out of here before you destroy the place and the books retaliate?" She's still eyeing that shelf, just in case.

The shelves rock back and forth, and looks like the male otter cant keep it still. Its just until Kass comes in with her handy dandy staff, that the shelf slows, before completely stopping. Philio wipes a paw across his brow, leaning on the side of the case, "Uhhh... Yah..." he moves away from the shelf and goes to wait by the door, making sure every step he takes wont land him in diaster. Yes, it looks funny, "...Heh you mind not telling the librarian... she would have my hide if she found out that i almost knocked over the shelves..." he pulls at his collar, "...again."

"I won't say a word. But I can just say you were with me if anyone asks, so the library was safe. She seems to like me." Kassle shrugs a little, smirking as she retrieves her staff and starts to follow him out. "Now. Dinner. Dinner was a yes, by the way."

"Thanks. She wants me ban from the library..." Philio sighs with a laughs, "I was 2. Come on. How was i supposed to know not to climb the shelves..." he chuckles, now walking beside her as they head up the corridor, then the stairs, "Yes? To dinner?" he hides his excitement, "Oh, your gonna love it. You may be a good cook. But my dad can make the best baked fish this side of the broadstream." he grins, "Yepyep. But. I though you wanted to find a birdie first?" he asks.

"Certainly. We have the plan, you see." She explains, waving her letter under his nose cheekily. "We need to walk to your house. I trust the weather has not much changed since I came inside, thus there are likely to be birds hopping around the trees and the ground, looking for food scraps. Your house is near the docks; popular with relaxing otters who drop food. Thus, there will likely be birds upon our route. But. We shall need to pop to the kitchen first." Kassle explains. "For the bribe."

Philio nods and gives a 'I gotcha, you sly otter you' type of face, "The weather the same as always. Partly cloudy and such. Been that way since this morning." he knows, he has been out since 4 am. He nudges her, "Ah yes. The bribe. What do you think your gonna get?" he asks, as he starts to hop two at a time, the last bit of the stairs, before reaching the ground floor landing.

Kassle mutters slightly and trots a bit to catch up with him. "Hm. Well, mister rabbit otter, I intend to see if we've got a bit of pastry to wrap around a few candied chestnuts. Tell them it's a chestnut pasty or something, and they can have another when they return; saves using a whole bag of candied chestnuts and using up the honey. We're running low on honey."

Philio waits for her at the top, "Mmmm. Sounds good. Think you can make a little extra for dessert tonight? Hrm?" he grins stupidly before tilting his head, "Almost out of honey?" he sighs, "How so? We usually get lots of stock from redhouse?" he asks again now 'escorting' her out of the tree, and into the fresh air and light.

"You mean Redwall? Most of their stock is old. They only have the one beekeep' at the moment from what I've heard." Kassle explains. "We might get what looks like a lot, but believe me, I don't think even they have as much as people believe from what I can fathom." She smiles though. "Sure I'll make some of those pastries for tonight though. We'll have meadowcream on them. Bit of ginger in it, maybe."

"Oh yeah. Redwall. Sorry. I always forget." Philio chuckles awkwardly, "...Well. Honey out of stock is not something I normally hear around here. Though. I don't hear alot. Maybe im just not putting my ear to the wind enough!" he laughs, taking her paw. Hey, if there gonna walk. He wants to hold paws. Least give him that, "...Ooo... Now sounds really amazing. My pop is gonna love yah. You know." he smirks.

"I like to cook. I like to know the state of the sources of my ingredients." Kass' grins. "Which reminds me. Beasts mention a market near that old Abbey too. These same beasts are the ones I talk to about the honey and other things. Well, they say that the abbey got some exotic spices and such from the trade there. They also mentioned a travelling wolf, but I'm guessing the market's easier to find; fancy taking a trip there in the coming months if all goes well? See if we can get a trade link through the road and river maybe? With Hallow's approval, of course, but I wanted to ask you on it first."

Philio nods a bit, "I can see that. As I like to know state of the nesting grounds." he snorts, "Yea. The market. Been there as well. Just north of the abbey. I do believe." he blinks heavily, "Uhhh er... Wolf?..." he gulps and nods slowly, "...I haven't see one around like that....That trades and stuff..." he then smiles at the offer, "Course i like to go." how he is going to explain all these absences to the other fishers, "I would be more than happy too." he snorts, "I like how you ask me first," he makes a smug face, before almost tripping. Gotta watch where he is stepping, "oops. Heh. But oh yea. Love to go."

The ottermaid actually tries to latch tighter onto his paw when he nearly goes down. A funny little smile as he states he likes that he's asked first. Kassle tilts her head. "You ok? And, sure. I mean, I value your opinion and well... Just seems right to ask you about stuff first." As for the fisherbeasts, she'd probably have a clever suggestion like tell them it's 'research'. When you're talking to otters, mostly you never need to clarify such a word. "And, as for the wolf. No clue. Just heard it's a he, he's friendly and he has a lot to trade. Asked about all sorts of people; beekeepers, traders, farmers, apothecaries, healers and even places to find fellow cooks. Got a good bit of information about what's nearby."

Philio smiles at her, a skip in his step. Like he is used to being a clumsy idiot. Oh wait, "Yea. Never been better. The ground just likes to get away from me something. Just gotta watch more..." he points at the ground with his free paw, "Hear that ground? Im watching you!" he grins, squeezing her paw back, "Heh. I just find it funny. It makes me feel all warm inside." he smirks and was about to explain why. But thinks better of it, "Oh. Well. Friendly. That good..." he nods a bit, "... Your becoming a wealth of information you know. Asking around and stuff. Soon you will know more than me about camp willow." what a shock. They get right outside the kitchen he nods toward it, "Ill wait. Don't want to be tempted..." its true. Just the smell is torture.
