The Letter - Father Fisher
Characters: Kassle, Philio, Plisk
Location: Camp Willow; Lancen Residents
Philio leads Kass down the path of the river, and up into forest. Up to his families house. He lets her go, finally, and runs up to open the little iron gate that is used to sperate everything else, "Here we are!" he chuckles, keeping the gate open for her to pass. The place is up and growing since spring started. Even looks like someone needs to cut the grass soon. Most of the windows are open and what smells like chowder can be sniffed. Wafting though the air.
Kassle twitches her nose as she notes the smell of chowder, her eyes flicking from left to right while she takes in the size of the house. "Not many people have fences here..." She notes also, leaning on her staff to scrutinise it. "It looks nice though. Homely, for a big place."
Philio chuckles, has he goes to close the gate and latch it up, "Nope. This was built about the time the camp was founded i do believe. Old thing. Always wondered what the fenced was for as well... Its adds a bit of something, though doesn't it." he hrms as he goes back to her side, "Thanks. This has been the home for my family for generations... We keep it up. Replace things when needed...." he paws the ground, "Tend the garden and such." he sighs, "Anyway. You said you wanted some rest before dinner?"
"Ah. To think." Kassle nods. Eyes the fence. Around the same time as the camp? She can envision a few reasons for it, and aims a gentle tap with her staff at it. To hear what sort of sound it makes and how long for. Then eyes the house again. "Nice dim room. Maybe a candle please?"
The iron fence make a long low bong sound. That seems to reverberate for a bit before muting to nothingness. Phil nods and points to the front door, "Sure thing. Though a dim room on the bottom floor might be hard to come by..." he hrms, "The candle, i can do. No problem." he leans in close to her and sighs before heading toward the front door, and opening it, "Hello? Dad? I brought someone special home... you here?" he enters, and holds the door open. The door leads to a hall, and leads all the way down to the back door. The door to the left is closed. The opening to the right leads to a comfy and cozy living room. Where a fire is burning slowly, and cauldron sit above it. About halfway down the hall, there is a stairs that leads to the second floor. There seems to be no one else here.
Kassle stays quiet as she enters, a smile offered but no words yet. She listens for a reply from anyone after Phil shouts. She eyes the stairs and tilts her head before sweeping her gaze around. Making a little mental plan of where she is.
Philio pulls at his chin, turning around to face Kass, "Hmmm. Pop's isn't here. We are all alone then. He probably wont be home until dinner is ready... Speaking of which" he points to the cauldron in the fire, "Hope you like fish n' shrimp chowder. I think its cheese tonight. Its a family recipe." he smiles, "Come on... I let you rest in my room... Its pretty dim...." he nods up the stairs.
"Well I am an otter..." She grins. "Safe to say I like fish stuff." Kassle then turns to eye the stairs again and nods. "Well, lead the way. Unless you're planning to 'herd' me to your room." She teases.
Philio smirks as he goes over to take her paw, "Come on you little fish. Ill 'herd' yah into my net then!" he teases back before heading up the stairs side by side with her. The 2nd floor landing leads to, well, another hallway. Going crossways instead. Two doors on the left side. One on the right, and one all the way at the end. The one at the end, is the only one that's open. The otter points, starting from the left, "This is my older's brother room. Alistair. Went adventuring several seasons ago. This is my sisters room. Mia and then my oldest sister, Terra. Both moved away a few seasons ago." he points to the right door, "This is the attic..." then to the door down the hall, "And... This is my room..." he chuckles awkwardly.
Kassle looks from each to each door as he points each door out. Well, then she looks at them all in a different order. "Hm. Plenty of siblings. Still seem them all or..?" She smiles as he finally points out his room and starts for it. Tidy or not, she's going in. And hurrying a bit to make sure he doesn't jump ahead and hide anything nice and embarrassing.
"I haven't seen my bother for... 8 seasons. Haven't even heard from him. As for my sisters. Mia moved out about 4 seasons ago. Then my other sister about 3 seasons ago. They still send a messenger once in awhile..." Philio nods a bit, and then ergs as she goes for his room. Well. Its not entirely clean. But its not too terrible. One or two dirty clothes are thrown about, or hanging off chairs. And the bed isn't made. Other then that, its looks quite nice. Cozy. But nice. At one end of he room is the bed, sitting under a window that is open. On the opposite wall is a dresser. Atop it is a bunch of frames. All with sketches of otters. All who look familiar to Philio. Family pictures. There is a desk in one corner, with several books. Dusty. And in the other corner is a saber. With sheath to go with it. Phil chuckles, "Don't mind the clothes." he laughs awkwardly.
"Adventurers and independents, then, your family?" Kassle grins as she bustles into the room and immediately starts to look around. "Open window; you prefer being outside. But we knew that one..." She muses, and then runs her eyes over the mess "Typical organisation system of clothing, as expected," slight smirking "Bed unmade. Hm. Same here; the morning is far too morning-y for remaking beds." And finally, the personal affects. "Books..." Of course she notices them first, and approves. "Did you draw these?" She's pointing at the drawings now.
"You can say that i guess." Phil chuckles, pushing the dirty clothes with his footpaw away in a pile. Don't forget the one on the chair, "Sorry. I usually don't have company..." So there was never really any need. He smiles and laughs "I get up really early for fishin'. So... Yes! It is too morning-y for me! Sides. Its just gonna be used again that night" he laughs a bit more before looking and peering around his desk, looking for a candle, "Yah. More books from me ma. You can peeky through them if ya like too." he nods a bit and then hrms, "Did i?... OH... No..." he gets from the desk and heads for the dresser, pointing at them, "No. I'm not that good. We have one made every so often..." he points to the far left one, "This is my family when Alistair was born..." he drags his paw to the right picture, "To just last season..." In every one of the pictures there is an otter with a beautiful otterwife standing next to him... up to the third to last picture. She is no longer there.
Kassle listens, smiles thankfully at the offer of peeking through the books and then pays attention as he explains the drawings. "So these books... Are from her?" She's pointing lightly toward the absent ottermaid, making the connection between them.
Philio nods slowly as he goes back to the desk to find a candle. After a few minutes he finally says, "She left everything to my dad... But the books to me. Said that i would find a better use for it then my father. And... he agrees with that..." he smiles thoughtfully before discovering the candle and a few flint rocks, "Here we are. One candle, comin up"
"Sounds like a close family." Kassle smiles, listening, as she deviates from the drawings and comes close to him. "Thankyou." She says, as he finds the candle, and then eyes the sword. "Military?" She enquires, rarely having encountered such a weapon, let alone away from a military serving beast.
Philio smacks the two rocks together and lights the tiny flint at the top. The flame comes to life. Small at first, but becoming a nice warm symbol. The otter smiles placing the rocks on the desk, "No problem... OH... What?" he looks off toward the saber, "Oh... No. I'm not that old... and i wasn't in the guard or anything like that... It was a Turing of age gift. I was quite good with it as a young one during school. So when i turned. I was given that..." The saber has a small basket hilt, and is slightly curved at the end. The sheath is a dark heavy cloth, almost like a leather, "As my father put it..." he blinks, "So i could have something to protect my family... when i have one..." he looks down and pulls at his hair.
"I see. Quite an elaborate coming of age present." She grins "I got a piece of chalk and a piece of slate; nice enough worked and good for noting things on. Not quite a sword though. Big house, presence of books, fine weapon and proper schooling." Kassle notes. "For a rather well off family, Phil-mo, you're wonderfully nice and grounded."
Philio smiles and gets very near, just a few inches, "Piece of chalk and slate? Nice." he then tilts his head at the next part, "Well... Were not rich. By any means. Just... Have a lot of luck i guess..." and then the arms go around her, "Hey! I can be a little off the wall too you know..." he grins.
"Maybe. But you're a very... likeable, sensible otter, beneath that silly hair and excited attitude." Kassle grins and nods "It was nice really, my chalk and slate. Useful for quick recipe notes and healing lessons. Lucky indeed, by the way. You even have a metal fence. Do you know this house is the first time I've ever seen one..? And, set to the ground like that. Very interesting."
Philio smiles and chuckles with his head tilt, "What? The fence? Really?" he smirks, "Well. If you find it interesting. What can i say. Its just a fence to me. So hey! If you find it interesting... i guess i do too..." he grins, "And i find it interesting that you haven't seen one... See... What i did there?" he snorts.
"It's a metal fence." Kassle pokes her tongue out. "If we came across that much metal up at the Broad', we'd be using it to make tools... Maybe weapons," She adds the last with a little discomfort, but it passes and she continues "But we probably would have a fence as the last thing on our minds, as something to make from metal."
Philio tilts his head the other way, "Oh. Well... I guess metal is not as needed as much down here... Its always been here, if i remember correctly..." he hrms a bit, "I see then..." and there is a little hug, "... Well... Now your here... And hey... If you want to have that fence... you can!" he smirks, "Just you know... have to get it out of the ground!"
Kassle smirks. "Well, I personally have no need for it, but thankyou. Though, I don't really think I could agree to the idea of uprooting something that's been around so long." She's leaning into his little hug. "We get by well enough with stone, but we don't do much smithing. More of a... fox thing up there, I suppose. Our life is well enough with the few metal things we do have."
Philio laughs, "That's why i said it! Cause... Nevermind." he continues to chuckles a little bit after. As if it was SO hilarious, "So... Since you have stone... Do you live in a... Castle?" And there is the stupid grin. He sighs, "Fox thing? What do you mean?" he shakes his head and says, "Anyway... I live you to your rest... Hope your headache goes away. Come down when you feel your up to it..." he leans in a little bit more, "And... And im gonna kiss you now..." and, he does.
"A holt. No castle." She goes to poke her tongue out. But then slips it back in, aping a lizard, after he says he's going to kiss her. So that she can kiss back. And she does. "Mm. Well. I don't think it should take too long. Just an hour or so, I hope." She smiles happily "Thankyou Phil-mo."
Philio smiles and nuzzle her cheek. He cant really help it. He wanted too so much, "... Ri-ght..." his voice cracks, "Ahem... Yes well... Right. An hour... If not. Ill come poke yah before we start eating..." he grins and stares at her eyes for a bit, "Your so... gorgeous...I lov-..." he blinks and feels sick, "Have a nice... rest..." he then heads toward the door. That feeling in his stomach returns. He is so confused.
Kassle leans to sprinkle something in the candleflame, as she looks back up at him when he goes for the door. Purposefully waits until he gets there to open the door and go through, before she smirks. "Love you too, Phil-mo." Said just matter of fact, no fuss, like much of what she does.
Philio is through the door, and closes it. His mind racing to figure out everything. Then it happens. She says it. Just barely, through the door he hears it. There is an obvious sound of him tripping and hitting the opposite wall, as his mind just stops. When those wonderful words flow through his head. He slumps on the ground and rubs his head before smiling and getting up. Going to put his paw on the door, "...Henrietta..."
Kassle hears him and smirks at the tumbling noises. She knows he'll be fine. A scent of lavender rises out of the candle, and is soon all over the room. She inhales deeply, and then hears him outside the door again. "Yes?"
"I love you... See yah in an hour..." Philio smiles deeply and waits. He stays there for quite a bit, paw on door, just being close to her. Before finally going downstairs. Sounds like his dad is just making it home. As noise comes from below.
Coming from below, what you can hear from the living room. Are two beasts talking. One is Phil, and the other sounds just like him. Just older. Muchmuchmuch older. Also the sound of a pan flute is heard in between words exchanged the two. Its not very good. Plisk (the older sounding one) says, "So... She is here? In your room?" The pan flute stops, "Well. Aye. She said she wanted to rest... so..." "And you not laying with her?" "DAD!" "Oh sorry. Geeze..." "Please dad. Can you be nice for once." "Please Philio. Can you not be clumsy?" "Heh. walked into that one..." "Yes you did son... Its about time for dinner... Why dont you go and get her boy." "My pleasure dad!" "Now... Dont take TOO LONG!" "...Dad..." "Sorry."
Kassle isn't awake. In fact, to those not used to it, the scene Phil's about to find might be a little scary. She's taken her waistcoat and her scarf off and her cord belt has been unfastened, though the tunic does little to hide her shape all the same. She's on the floor, sort of sprawled, muzzle tilted away from the door. The candle's out, but smells much stronger of the lavender from before.
Philio slowly comes up the stairs. Flute away as he slowly goes to open the door to his room. He blinks a bit at the scene he come upon. Quickly running over, concern written all across his face, "Kass? KASS? Henrietta?" he coughs at the heavy lavender. As he goes to put her head in his lap, stroking the hair, trying to wake her, "Kass? What happened?"
Kassle mutters. And blinks at him, confused. What's he so worried about? She looks around, and then smiles sheepishly up at him. "That was a very good nap. Um. Is it dinner time? Because if so, I need my clothes I think..." Even her hair's come loose.
Philio blinks heavily at her. Okay the speech center has stopped working as he mumbles and points at the candle, the bed, then at her, then at the floor. He blinks a bit more then says, "... Yes. Its dinner time... And... Yes." he just notices that she is fact, very pretty. Unclothed, "But... Why were you on the floor?" seems to be his most noticeable concern.
"Well... I, uh, was sitting. But I guess I fell after I, um, went to sleep." She explains, patting her tunic down as she crosses her legs. "So... My clothes, please? Unless I'm to meet your father half dressed? Also, I don't suppose you have a comb or a br-.. Erm." She eyes Phil's hair. Maybe not.
Concern is still written across his face. He is just confused that she fell asleep sitting up. That's really odd. Well. She is an otter that reads for fun. So... Its not really odd in comparison. Still concerning though. He blinks at her, "Do you mind not sitting, and then falling asleep. That's not a good thing... And..." he realizes he was staring and nods, "Right. Clothes. Yes." he gets up and tosses her the waistcoat and scarf. He then chuckles, "I can go get you a brush..." he watches her dress for a bit, before heading off to his sisters room, shortly returning with a brush, "Hope you don't mind... Twas my sisters at one point..." looks fairly clean.
Kassle smirks. "Er. Well. The powder; the lavender. It's very relaxing. I can't always stop myself drifting off. I do feel very relaxed now though." She fastens her waistcoat on, and then shakes her hair completely loose as Philio arrives with the brush. "If your sister wouldn't mind me using it, then I certainly don't mind."
Philio slowly hands her the brush, "Nah. She wouldn't mind if you had it. Really." Its just a simple brush. Made from a pike bone. One that a very very young ottermaid would use. But hey. Its a brush. When she undoes her hair. He begins to lose feeling in his legs. And cant look away, "Holy... crap..." If it was any other beast. He'd probably go down stairs by now. But, once again. This is no ordinary beast he is looking at.
Kassle rapidly brushes her hair loose, and then starts brushing it back; quick and neat, she's soon got that fabric tied around it again. So quick, one might even think she's embarrassed to have her hair loose. She smiles and passes the brush back. "Thankyou. I look, um, presentable? For dinner?" It's first impression time, so she's determined to make a good one.
Philio mouth is hanging a bit by now. And is quickly shaken back into existence, "Oh... You. You look absolutely amazing... Yes..." he smiles and then says, "My dad will like you... OH..." he looks back toward the door, "Okay. His name is Plisk. And don't mention anything about his eye. Don't even stare at it... Other then that. Be yourself and he will love yah... Not like i do..." he smiles again and holds out his paw for hers.
The first words out of her mouth are going to be about the eye now, aren't they... Oh well, she smiles and reaches to take his paw. "Well I hope not. That would be weird."
Philio will tell her about the eye, after dinner. He just forgot to mention it before hand. He chuckles a bit squeezing her paw, "... It would be. I would have a few question of my own... Come on then!" and he drags/pulls her along downstairs. He leads her into the living room then into the kitchen. Where Plisk is. Plisk, the father of Philio. Is old. Obviously. Looking like in his 30-35 seasons. Did i mention he was old? And wrinkly. His entire body is covered in greying fur, including his extra long mustache that reaches over his chest. He is also a bit shorter then Phil. But the one thing that stands out. Is his eye. His right one. A scar goes from above the eyebrow to his check. Across the eye. The eye itself is white. Its blind. And its quite noticeable. His clothes are very similar to Phil's. A lot baggier. As Plisk is a bit more filled out then his son. Green vest, and such.
Plisk stands on the other side of the table, "Bout time you got her Philio. My stomach as abeatin away at me..." he looks toward Kassle and smiles, "Well... Hello there pretty one... So your the one that stole my son away?" "...Dad..." "Heh. He hates it when i say stuff like that... The name is Plisk. Im the boys father... You must be Kassle... Pleasure..." he smiles and nods.
Kassle is dragged/pulled down to the meal, and pauses awkwardly for just a second. The eye... does not make as much of an impact as even she thought it might; a healer after all, she sees things like it sometimes. She smiles. "Plisk? Not 'Mr. Lancen'? Because I don't mind if you prefer that... And, it's very nice to meet you too." Unsure of the ettiquette, she offers her paw.
Plisk reaches out and takes her paw, going to kiss the top of it, "Nah lass. No one ever calls me that. And why should you?" obviously not high on titles and such, "Sides. Look at Mr. Lancen over here..." he points his thumb in the direction of Phil. Who smirks a bit. Plisk chuckles, "So just call me by my firsty name... Philio. What yah doin? Go and be useful..." Phil nods and goes over to one of the cabinets, "Nay lad! Go and be a gentle beast first... Then get the bowls" Phil frowns a bit before going over to help Kass in a chair.
Kassle blinks. And then smirks, to the kiss and the directions as relevant. She allows Philio to help her sit, though seems rather bemused by that. "Well... This explains a lot about Philio. You've got a wonderful son. Plisk." She compliments, amused, but pleased. He's quite likable, even while he's bossing his son around.
Philio helps her into the chair, resting a paw on her shoulder afterward. Plisk notices this and chuckles, "Lad. Let her go. And get to feedin' us starvish beasts!" Phil nods a bit more, "Aye dad." Aye? He never says 'aye'. Ever. The otter then goes over to the cabinet and starts to pull out some bowls and such, then going over to the fire in the living room to dish out some of the chowder. Plisk uses this time to get to know this lovely beast, "Thank ye Miz. As the youngest of four. He needs a good bringin' up... Aint that right sonny boy." "...Aye dad." "See! Learn'ded he be." he chuckles, "So. Philboy has told me all about ye. Cook and a healer? Busy much, arent yah."
Kassle grins, smiling up at Phil before he's told to move off. "Well, if I'm to call you by your name, then, and I'd hope Philio'd told you mine, I think I'd be more comfortable if we were both on first name terms?" She tilts her head. "Good things I hope? But, yes, I suppose so. I just find both really interesting. If I weren't here, splitting the jobs, I'd be known as an Apothecary, I'd guess."
Plisk leans back in his chair, "Alright then. Kassle it is." he smiles. He likes that in her. He then laughs uproariously, "Would you believe me if he said you were a warty toad?" "DAD!!!!" "SorrySorry! Nay, its just been good things about ye. Says your very interesting. Not like the other ottermaids around here..." Phil returns with three bowls of fish chowder balanced in his paws and on on his arm. Boy is it hot! He puts one in front of them. First Kass, then Plisk, then himself. Then going to sit next to her. Scooting the chair as close as he can. Spoons are already lad out. So no need for that. Plisk continues, "A potion maker eh? Your of the smart variety, hrm?"
"A warty toad?" She smirks. "Hm. Well, that's nice. Am glad it's been good things. He's said naught but good about you, too." She smiles a thanks as Philio puts the bowls down. "Well. Not smart, exactly... I just notice things. And I tend to enjoy finding things out."
Plisk chuckles, "Good things about me? Aww, ain't that nice of him. Covering up for his old pa." Philio smiles a bit, "I just smoothed some of your more rough edges." "Boy that must have been a lot of sanding down" Both laugh. In the exact same manner. Good ole belly laugh. If one didn't know they were family. It might be down right creepy. Plisk wipes his good eye, "Aye, that was a good'un..." Philio settles down and from under the table puts a paw on top of Kass' leg. He smirks, "Thats lot more then most around here. Smartypants!" he laughs, "Good chowder..."
Kassle smirks, watching the pair of them laugh, and leans in when Philio puts a paw on her leg. It's more cute than creepy. Plisk seems nice. "Smartypants? Is that what I'm getting in retalliation for Phil-mo?" She grins.
"Phil-Mo?" Plisk asks, "What in blue blazes?... His name is Philio... Oh!" he gets it and winks, "I see... What'cha did there!" he grins, "So Kassle. Sorry for all the questions. But. Where are you staying? In the Camp?" he asks. Philio smiles at the lean, and even turns a bit red in color. He says, "Its not as good. Bit it fits you nicley. Mizzy Smartpants." A slight rub to her leg now.
Kassle grins back at Plisk, and nods quickly. "Erm, the Guest place sometimes... But mostly I drift to the Infirmary, sleep there sometimes, and even outside given when it's warm enough..." She goes smirky at the rub and the bit on the new nickname.
Plisk ponders this for a moment, "Hrm. I see..." he glances toward Phil, then back at Kass, "Well. As long as you're not sleeping in the gutter. I see nothing wrong with sleeping outside. Sometimes it is best. Aint that right son?" "Uhhh... Oh yes." Phil nods with a voice crack. Plisk nods back, "Right you are meboy. Oh Phil. Before i forget. You requested a few weeks off coming up?" Phil nods, "I see no problem with that. You have been good lately. Im sure he wont mind. That reminds me. I wont be home tonight..." "Why" "I WONT be home tonight..." Phil nods.
Kassle blinks. Interesting. "Well... Yes. It's pleasant, waking up when the sun's coming up." She muses silently on the exchange though, pleased on hearing Phil has time off, but getting curious about this secretive not-home-ness...
The Exchange between the two male otters slows down a bit. Plisk mainly staying on the conversation of Kass, with Kass. No other words are spoken of why he wont be home tonight. Phil wont pursue it. And by the way talks from now on. He seems like he knows whats going on. Plisk finishes up the bowl, "Ahhh! Good and hearty as ever. My compliments to me!" he laughs, "Phil boyo. Why don't you take Kass to the living room when she is all done. And ill scrounge up some after dinner wine and things..." he smiles before getting up and heading into the basement. Phil says when they are finally alone, "Sorry about him... He likes to talk. And. I never bring home a girl so... Its like a party to him..."
"I... see." She shrugs and smiles. "Well, he seemed nice enough, the food is good, and you're here... BUT," She tilts her head "And I'm sure you could tell I'd notice this; the whole staying out thing? What was that? Seemed a bit tense."
Philio gulps and looks toward the basement. Making sure his father wont come up at any moment, "Alright i tell yah. But... Keep it a secret. I trust you. I never told anyone... But..." he nods, "Okay. You saw his eye right? Well. He didn't get that from a fishing accident... My mother was... Umm... When i was one..." he clears his throat, "My mother was. Well. Killed... And..." he looks into her eyes for strength, "And... he got that blind eye. From... Murdering the ones who did it..." he leans in a bit closer, "... So every month since then... Well. He would go away for a night... And..." he looks around again, "Hunt..."
Kassle also looks to the basement. Well. That makes... some sense. The whole vengeance thing everyone does eventually around her. "Ah." She reaches to squeeze his paw gently, seeing some upset, and dips her head. Not commenting, but promising "I won't say a word."
Philio leans in to hug her. Paws intertwined. Then he kisses her on the forehead. Before resting his head on it, "He loved her very much. I can see where he is getting at. Its alright though. He'll be back tomorrow. A little scratched up. But no other worse for wear..." he sighs, "...He still visits her grave everyday. And thank you Henrietta..." he mumbles.
"You're welcome... And, I see." She smiles after the kiss, rubbing his paws with her thumbs. "Well, we'll both be here to welcome him back tomorrow, perhaps? I could cook something if you'd like?"
Philio smiles and rubs his nose against her, in retaliation for the paw rub, "That would be wonderful... Thanks you... Kass... I. If you want too... I was wondering. Hoping really. If you will spend the night... with me." "I have returned!" Plisk comes up from basement carrying with him a bottle of some sort of wine. Phil turns all shades of red as he back off a bit and he lost his vocal cords, "Oh goody" he squeaks.
Kassle is nodding. So, hopefully he'll get that answer, after the nose rub. She's no real chance to say anything but "Welcome back!" And "Ooh!" as she spots the wine, doing a much better job at being unembarrassed...
Plisk eyes them both for a minute before chuckling, "I see... Hrm..." he smiles and says, "Old bit of the red stuff. From Redwalls finest collection. Better we have it then the dust bugs." he chuckles and places it on the table. Going about the kitchen for some glasses. Phil looks back at Kass when his father looks away. He looks surprised, ecstatic, and sick. All at the same time. Plisk hums about, "Would you like a tall or a small glass Kassle?" he asks.
"Oh, tall, please if I may? If you really don't mind me drinking it. It's probably hard to get now though?" She smiles back at Phil, moving closer and goes to squeeze one paw. He doesn't look all that well again..
"Not at all dear" Plisk chuckles, "The pub sometimes give us these special bottles in exchange for certain types of big game fish. I never drink it in excess. And neither does Philmeboy. So we save it for occasions like this!" he says pouring a tall thin glass for Kass, and two short stout glasses for him and his son, "And just because the trade route is a little more. Well. Pirated then normal. Doesn't mean we cant enjoy it while its here!" he holds up his glass, "To Camp Willow... And to my son and his new girlfriend" he laughs. Phil smiles and scoots closer as well. Squeezing back. He feels better. Just doesn't look it, as he holds up his glass as well.
Kassle raises her glass, a little quietly, taking it all in. But she's certainly happy enough. She smiles at the squeezeback, nodding as she understands why the good alcohol and finding agreement with Plisk's words on enjoying it while it's about.
Plisk smiles and then says, "Salut" as he takes in the entire thing in an inhale. He ergs and blinks a bit. Slowly putting the glass on the table. Upside down. He sighs heavily, "Oh boy... That was one dark thick'en..." he blinks and looks at the bottle, "Boy howdy..." he chuckles before going to stand. Phil nods to the word before just taking a few gulps of the thing. Leaving a good half of it left. Night is still young after all.
"Salut." Kassle grins at the older otter, then sips daintily. o.o She's going to savour hers. "C'est magnifique." She smirks, continuing that language for a moment. "Very nice." She does nose at what each other otter has left. Turns out she's sipped the least after all.
Plisk smiles a bit at the ottermaid, "I see that's one language that's not dead yet! You can have more ya know Kassle. Its not like its going anywhere" he chuckles and nods, "Well anyway..." he looks toward the window, "Its getting dark. And i must be off." he nods at the both of them, before heading off toward the living room. Then to the master bed. Phil nods and says, "Alright dad..." then mutters, "Please be careful..." and sighs before looking to Kass, "... I... We're... Alone." he smiles weakly before attacking her neck his nuzzles.
"Goodnight, thankyou for all this!" She waves at Plisk, indicating the wine and such as he goes. Then grins at the neck nuzzle, and tilts her head toward Phil. "I guess we are then." She does pat, though, quickly after. "And, am sure he'll be fine." She tries to reassure too.
Philio gets out, so he can talk again. He has turned another nice red color, "...I really hope so. He is not as young as he thinks he is" a smile, little kiss, before he gets all excited, "...Come on" he gets up and grabs his glass then the bottle, "I want to show you something!" he grins.
Kassle smiles reassuringly, and then with some puzzlement and slightly excited too- catching- as he is. "Ah. Ok! Show me something?" She's immediately curious.
Philio grins a big fat grin nodding off in the direction of the hallway, "Oh yes. I bet your gonna love it..." he nudges her, "Well come on then fancy pants!" he smirks lightly pushing her in the direction of the stairwell before heading off in front of her. He leads her up, then into his room, jumping on the bed, "Wait here..." he ducks through the window putting down the glasses and bottle before popping his head back in and holding his paw out for her, "Come see this... Its my favorite" he then goes to lead her on top of the roof, and the wondrous view that lays before them. As the camp lanterns illuminating the world in the back. With stars and moon lighting from above.
Kassle is a bit flustered looking. So much movement and enthusiasm! And, wait? "Fancy pants?" She keeps acquiring nicknames in this house! Up the stairs she's led and then he goes out of the window. o.o Ok then. Oh, he's back. She eagerly crawls through and blinks. "Wow."
Philio smiles and leads her to a spot that is free of leaves. Seems like he comes here often. He nods to the spot for her to sit down first. The glass and bottle are set nearby. The spot overlooks the most open part though the trees, "...Its great... Isn't it..." he grins.
Kassle is mostly just looking around, so she's grateful for being led, lest she tumble off the roof in not looking where she's going. She sits, and nods, agreeing. "It really is. It's an amazing view." She's aware of clinking glass and bottle but she's a bit taken with the view of all that black pinspotted and illuminated with lanterns and the light of space.
Philio smiles at her. Even with what lays before them. The only view he wants to see, is... Well. Her. He sits slowly down next to her, "This my favorite place when i cant sleep..." he clears his throat several times. And plays with his paws in front of him nervously.
Finally, she tears her gaze from the view and glances at him, happily. "When you can't sleep? Given the state of the place," She moves to poke him just a little, before looking back out "You can't be getting an awful lot of sleep..."
Philio moves with the poke. Before going to smile warmly at her. Her eyes are just killing him. But in the good way, "...Well. Its only recently that its been really... Umm. Not able to sleepyness..." he sighs before going to awkwardly going to put an arm around her waist.
Kassle leans in as his arm comes around, her brow furrowing a little bit. "Recently. Hm. You haven't seemed ill... Uh, anymore than you've seemed before, I mean." Concerned, she has another look at him. "Hm. You look alright. So. Some sort of stress, perhaps?"
Philio breaths awkwardly as she leans in. Starting to go red again. He blinks a few times and shakes his head. After swallowing a good bit, "...I... I am alright... Im just a little... Umm... Well. Nervous again..." he nods, "OH YES..." his voice squeaks, "...Yes. Stress..." his voice dies, "...I. I. I cant help it..."
