Stoat to Teach a Stoat.
Characters: Garnet, Kentar
Location: Moledeep: Molehall
Garnet is sitting in the hall today. Resting, after she made lunch and got everyone to it an ate it. She is a good cook. No one can deny that. She sits all curled, far from the fire, in one of the armchairs, reading a book of some sort. A few minutes rest before she goes looking for Chris or worst, he finds her first. She wouldn't mind it. As she loves Chris. But the rest is good.
Kentar had done the dishes today, and after having washed and put them away, he quietly sneaks up behind the armchair, peeking over the top at her with a grin. He peeks at the book before reaching down to slide his paws to her shoulders, starting to rub them. "Hey love...what are you reading?" he asks.
Garnet had heard Kentar try to sneak in. And she let him. Why not. She closes her eyes and leans back at the rub, smiling drunkenly, "Mmmm... Hey... love..." she arches her back a little, "Mmmm... Just... something I found lying around the study... odd tales from woodlanders..."
Kentar chuckles a little bit and smiles as he massages her shoulders gently, not having done anything like that for a rather long time. "Ah." he nods slowly. "Is it good?" the stoat tilts his head to one side as he peeks at the book.
Garnet is still very engrossed by the massage. And her brain has decided to not work properly for the time being. So it takes her a minute to realize and answer, "Oh... Yes, its pretty good. Quite interesting really... May have to read Chris a few..." she chuckles lightly going back to mmming.
Kentar chuckles a bit and nods. "Sure he'd like it." he nods before finally stopping. He leans down to kiss her cheek before pulling a chair up next to hers and sitting down. "Speaking of Chris, I was sort of wondering something." he nods.
Garnet smiles warmly and manages to pluck one on him after his, before he goes off to get a chair. She places the book down, and leans in closer, "Oh. What is it? Did he steal something again?" she shakes her head slowly.
Kentar shakes his head. "No, no. He hasn't done that for a little while." he nods. "I was hoping that you'd let me train him. Not to kill or anything like that, just to defend himself. With our luck, the next beast that shows up here is going to be as evil as they get." he nods. "I just thought that it might be a good idea for him to know how to defend." he nods. "Just...a thought."
Garnet nods, "Well, that's good. Thought he'd never get over that..." she hrms a little bit. Listening to her husband, "You want to what?" she blinks at him a few times, "What do you mean by training? Like... what sort of training? And what do you mean by Defend... exactly?" The image of her baby holding a sword flies through her mind. That isn't gonna be good with her.
Kentar gulps a little. He's afraid his wife might try and kill him if he continues. Against his better judgment, he does. "Just...like...paw to paw combat or something. How to disarm a beast if he's attacked with someone holding a dagger...He won't have to learn how to use a weapon...just his paws..." he nods.
Garnet eyes the other stoat. The glare of a wife can topple even the mightiest of walls. And she has got it, "Just paw to paw?... Why don't you just teach him to run away... How to get away. How to escape. Then when... he is old enough... Much older than he is now... You can teach him to actually defend..." she wont mind it then. But right now. Chris is still her baby.
Kentar nods a little bit. "I could do that." he nods. "If you want me to just do that." there's lots of ways to escape a bad situation. "I can do that. I just thought it might be a good idea for him to know how to protect himself and all that." he nods.
Garnet leans over and takes his paw, patting it softly with her other, "It's a wonderful idea. It is a really bad place out there... And even worse... because of certain beasts... in here. But he is a little young to be defending himself, like that... It will be good for him to know... Just. Just not now... You teach him to escape... Keep himself alive... and unhurt." she nods a few times.
Kentar smiles a little and leans in to give her a quick kiss. "Hehe, alright." he nods. "I just thought I'd bring it up with you first. The art of escape first, defense later." he nods a little bit. "Maybe I should teach you some escape tricks too. Just for when I do this!" he grins, leaning over, wrapping his arms around her firmly, going to lift her into his arms as he stands.
Garnet smiles at him, and smiles even more at the kiss, "That would have been a terrible thing to find out... thanks for... Wha?" as she is lifted up. She chuckles and wraps her arms around his neck, "I know how to escape!" she noses his chest "Just... Why would I want too!" she laughs.
Kentar laughs a bit and smiles, spinning around once or twice before setting her down gently. "Hehehe, well. I don't know. Cause I'm a one eyed stoat with an eeeeevil laugh?" he laughs as evilly as he can, which happens to actually turn out as a very scary laugh, before breaking into less evil, or scary chuckles.
Garnet closes her eyes and hangs on for dear life at the spinning. She laughs when she is sat down, "I know you... That's not sc-..." her face turns scared as the laugh. Almost. When the stoats laugh dies down she says, "Oh my..."
Kentar smirks a bit. "I've been told I have dad's laugh." he nods, shrugging. "I never laugh evilly like that, so you don't have to worry!" he smiles.
Garnet shakes her head and pokes him in the shoulder, all in jest "We will have no more of that now!" she smirks, "Never have a reason to laugh like that... so I'm not!"
Kentar laughs a bit and frowns. "But mum! I want to laugh like I'm crazy!" he pouts before laughing again.
Garnet squints and moves her head back. The old chalkboard and nails routine, "Argh! Stop that! That sounds just awful! Stop it, I say!" she pokes him in the nose.
Kentar laughs a bit and ows at the nose poke, falling over onto his back, pretending to cry. "She pooooked me!" he laughs and stands, poking her right back.
Garnet rolls her eyes, "Kentar. My big baby..." she chuckles before she is poked as well, "Hey... Mean." she smirks and pokes him as well, before scooting back, away from the stoat.
Kentar ehs at the second poke and laughs again. "Ah, well. I guess I shouldn't poke you again. Be a waste of time! Since you'd only poke me back." he grins with a nod.
Garnet chuckles, "Yah... Well... Yah..." she nods firmly and scoots back over to the chair. But doen't sit down, "You poked me back the first time. Thought I'd return the favor!"
Kentar chuckles and and nods slowly. "Yeah well. I guess I deserved that!" he nods before looking around. "So. Where's Chris today? With the otters or the rats?" he asks, tilting his head.
Garnet smiles and sits back down in the chair, "Hrm? Oh... I think with the otters. But they have been getting over their heads lately. With the twins growing... So maybe..." she really doesn't know, "Maybe... with the rats? I'm sure he is here somewhere..."
Kentar laughs a bit. "He's growing too you know." he nods. "He's probably off exploring Moledeep. Maybe got himself a hiding place or something." he shrugs, sitting back down in his own chair.
Garnet snorts, "Not what I meant. The twins have started to walk by themselves. And I swear that I saw Ella running a few days ago..." she chuckles and shakes her head, "Well. Maybe. As long as he doesn't go outside. Or do anything stupid. I'm fine with it" she nods a few times. Still concern her. But not too much.
Kentar nods a little. "Yeah. They're growing like weeds." he nods. "It's a scary thought really. Seems just like yesterday they were born." he laughs a bit.
Garnet leans over and starts to pat his paw again, "And soon they will be big ole otters with big ole appetites... So much fish..." she snorts and chuckles, "It wont be long till then. Just enjoy the quiet while we can!" she laughs.
Kentar frowns a bit at the thought. "And just wait till they're Robin's age. They'll be worse." he pauses. "Oh my. I wonder what Chris will be like at Robin's age..." he sort of sinks into his seat.
Garnet leans over and kisses him on the cheek, "I'm sure he will just like his father. Or like otters... or rats..." She chuckles, "Which is the lesser of three evils?" she smirks.
Kentar hrms a little. "Probably Kluna." he nods, laughing. "That's the lesser of those three evils." he smirks. "But yeah, he'll probably be like me. Such a silly stoat, who has no care for anything but his wife...well. When he gets one." he smirks.
Garnet nudges him slightly, "A little early to be thinking of things like that..." she hums and closes her eyes, "... Hope he finds someone like... like me!" she smirks.
Kentar laughs and grins. "I hope he finds someone like Fira!" he nods. "Wait. No. Your my wife, not her." he scratches his chin before laughing. "I hope he finds someone like me too." he laughs again before standing with a grin. "I'll go see if the otters need help with their devils...I mean...twins." he nods. "See you later love!" and with that, he's off.
Garnet eyes him for a minute, "Fira? Dang straight I'm your wife! And don't you forget it!" she smirks before picking up her book, "You go do that. Tell the twins I miss them!" she snorts and, "I love you! Kentar!" she shouts to him before he goes.
