Robin and Syla are both out on deck today. They're leaning against the railing, staring out over the sea again, as always, but the only difference this time, is that they both look incredibly happy. And they sound it too from their laughing.
William glances over at the stoats from farther up the deck and shakes his head.
William glances over at the stoats from farther up the deck and shakes his head. The rat pulls himself up to sit on the deck's rail, wrapping his tail around it to keep from falling off. "How are half the stoats today?" he calls over to the giggly pair not really caring if he gets an answer or not.
Robin and Syla hum a little and look up towards the rat, both smiling brightly before they move over towards him. "Ooh, we're doing okay, thanks, Will. And how is the only rat doing?" Syla asks.
William unwraps his tail from the railing and stands up on top on it. He throws himself off and hits the water. Upon surfacing he shouts up to the stoats, 'Better!"
The stoats laugh and smile. "I see! Glad of it!" Rob smiles then grins. "Ooh, by the way. We've got some news for you, ratty!" Robin grins.
William swims a ways away from the ship and calls back up, "What kind of news, stoaties? Good news or that other kind?"
"Good news!" Syla nods before grinning ear to ear. "In fact, its so good news, you might even cry!" Robin nods once.
The stoats laugh and smile, shaking their head. "Better than that!" Robin grins. "I'll give you one more guess." Syla nods, holding paws with Robin again.
William says, "I don't know .... I don't think there are very many things better than that."
Robin hums and grins. "Ooh just tell him, Robby." Syla smiles. "We're engaged!" Robin blurts out as soon as he has permission. The two stoats grin and lean on each other.
William leans his head back as he looks up at the ship and where the stoats are, "Is that all?" he asks grinning, "Well congratulations. How long til th wedding?"
The stoats smile and kiss quickly before looking back to the rat in the water. "Uhh. We're not sure. We were thinking...maybe we'd do it when we got back to port on the western shores." they nod. "In Syla's town. Make it a nice wedding there or something." they nod.
William nods, "Anyone else know yet?"
Robin nods. "Only Terian, you, and Chris. Dad will find out when he gets back, and mum will find out when she gets back from exploring the docks." they smile.
"She go by herself?" the rat asks.
Rob chuckles a little bit and nods. "I know the feeling." he says before humming. "I'll be back." he says before running off. A few minutes pass before he returns, flying off the deck and splashing in next to Will, in his swimming shorts. "Here I am." he grins after surfacing.
William is further soaked then he already was when the stoat jumps ship. The rat swipes a paw at his nephew to splash him back and laughs, "About time you got down here. I shouldn't have to be the first one to jump off. Our otters must be sleeping on the job."
Robin arghs. "He splashed me!" he points and 'cries', splashing back. "Sooo, Will! Will you be my best man at the wedding?" he asks, tilting his head to the side. "I was thinking of Sebastian, but I don't think we'd find a dress tunic in his size..." he smiles a bit.
William pretends to think about it a bit, hmming and trying to look like he's thinking deeply about this. It's very clear that he isn't really thinking about it that much. "Well I suppose I could. But why not ask Chris or somebeast? Why me? Just cause Seb is gianormous?"
Robin hums. "Well. Chris...is Chris, and dad, I'm hoping will do the speaking thing. And Aik. Welll, Aik isn't...as close as you or me." he nods with a smile. "Besides, you're better than Chris." he chuckles.
"Would you like Chris to not be Chris?" the rat jokes then says, "I do see your point though. I'd be happy to do it."
Rob laughs. "I'd like for Chris to be a little less dad." he chuckles then nods. "Thanks, Will." he smiles. "Thanks bunch!" he says before grinning. "The wedding is going to be a splash..." he splashes the rat.
William splashes back. "Really? I thought it might be a little dry. I don't think of you will be upholding the local Mossflower tradition of being threatened to the alter by the bride. .... I'm not sure how that got started ..... I could guess though," he chuckles.
Robin chuckles and nods. "Yep." he smirks a little bit then shakes his head. "Nope, I won't be doing that one. That was only you, Will, sorry." he pats out then laughs with a hum. "Soo." he thinks for a few moments.
"It wasn't just me! Beasts in Mossflower have been doing things that way for ages. Not all of them but a lot have. .... " the rat exclaims trailing off to an annoyed mutter for a few seconds.
Robin smiles and chuckles. "I know the feeling. Thats how my grandparents got married. So dad tells me." he nods. "Except it was gran'dad that forced her to the alter, and not the other way around." he hums.
"Th first one seems t be more common with woodlanders. They're similar though,” Will says then after a pause asks, “How long should we give your dad an Aik or are we not allowed to go look for them for some reason? You know what they're like."
"Aik told Sebastian that if they're not back in a week, to head up to a cove and wait another week...then leave." Rob nods. "No looking for them if something happens." he frowns a little.
William frowns, "That otter should know better than to think we'd do that."
Robin nods. "He does know better. He's not expecting it of us, he's expecting it of Sebastian." he nods. "I think Aik is thinking that because Seb is a...massive...bruit of a badger, that we won't mutiny if he tries to leave..." he nods.
William chews on his lip a bit, "Well if they don't come back Seb may be under new captianship or whathaveyou. .... They'd better come back."
Robin nods slowly. "Ohh, don't worry. I'd kill him if we could find our parents." he nods. "After all, I don't know him all that well, and...welll...they're family." he nods. "Aaanyways, I'm sure it wont come to that."
William laughs, "You might have t get in line behind yer mum an Fira if ya want t do that. It may not but trouble likes t follow us around. Even before I dragged a certain drunk otter away from Redwall. Abbey should be greatful really. He's improved a lot. Still a bit silly, but not as bad as before. If he knows what's good for im he wont go back t being stupid. ... More stupid."
