Setting Sail - Maybe?

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: William, Chris

Location: Golden Pike

Golden Pike: Galley

The galley is bathed in yellow lantern light at either end and sunlight filters down in between from hatch above. The kitchen eating areas are bustling with activity at this time of day. Family and crew alike sit at tables or in booths talking loudly and eating heartily of another one of Garnet's meals.

Christopher happens to be one of those crewbeasts enjoying the meal. The stoat is sitting by himself in the corner, eating quietly as he sways lightly, side to side. He doesn't bother looking around or talking to anyone, the stoat enjoying his meal alone.

William finishes eatting and looks around. Still no Aik or Kentar around. He takes his empty dishes to the kitchen and spies Chris on his way back out. The rat walks over and plops down beside the young stoat. "How are you today, Chris?" he asks.

Christopher huhs a bit and looks over to the rat. "I didn't say you could join me." he says with a nod then a smile. "Buuut I guess you can." he then shrugs. "Doing okay." he says. "Tired. I got the watch shift last night." he nods. "Port or no port, Sebastian wants a lookout posted at aaaalllll times just incase anything tries to kill us." he nods. "You?”

William nods, "Good thinking. Me? I'm alright. It's almost quiet around here with Pa an your dad gone. They should be back soon though."

Chris chuckles and leans back in his seat, nodding. "Yeah. I hope so anyways. I don't want to save their tails...again.

William shrugs, "I know but if we have to .... Guess they're worth the trouble."

Chris hums. "Yeah, I spose." he nods. "Maybe." he chuckles a little bit and hums.

William reaches over and ruffs Chris' head fur. "They'll be fine," he says.

Chris blinks and shakes his head, fixing his fur before nodding. "I'm sure they will be." he smiles before humming. "Soo. What's been up with you?" he asks.

"Nothin'," the rat says, "I ate food. Been doin' what I'm supposed to most th time. There's only so much t do when we're at port like this. Could go ashore but don't know if any good would come of that. .... All the otters I've ever known were very large and very strong. And that island is full of otters."

Christopher nods slowly and then hums. "Yeah. But we've got two badgers, a small army of stoats, and a rat! What could go wrong?" he laughs.

"So many things. Things you can't even imagine," the rat answers.

Christopher laughs a little bit and nods slowly. "I'm sure." he chuckles a bit with a smile. "Aaanyways." he thinks for a few moments. "We won't have to go after them.

William smiles, "I sure hope not. Maybe for once they'll have stayed out of trouble."
