From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Character: William, Chris, Robin

Location: Golden Pike at Ashturah’s Port

Onboard the Golden Pike

his part of the ship is sperate from the rest of the deck. After taking a short step ladder. You arrive at the Bow deck. The deck at the very front of the ship. This wooden deck is flat, and comes up to met the curved front of the ship. Railings to your port and starboard sides and a flat block for the very front. A mast hold sticks out in front, making the bow have a pointed front. With a rope leading to the main sail. The ocean waves crash up and down against the ship, as it plows through it. The boat heaves up and down most noticeably here.

William stands at the bow of the Golden Pike, gripping the rail with both paws as he watching the surf beat against the ship's side. It seems like they've been waiting for Aikuen and Kentar to return for seasons.

And here come some stoaty stoats. Robin, and Chris-o-bell! The stoats are grinning to themselves rather dumbly and their conversation is mostly laughs. The stoats hum though when they see William. "Oh, hey Will!" Christopher smiles and waves as they head over.

William's ears tilt back at the sound of pawsteps on the steps behind him. He turns his face toward the stoats and smiles a little. "Hey. Just lookin' at th water. Those two must taken a holiday or somethin'. Wonder what they're doing," he says.

The stoats chuckle and smirk. "Maybe they've found a nice stoat and otter maid...who knows...first time away from the wives without them looking over their shoulder." Christopher smirks a little. Rob nudges him in the shoulder. "Now now! Dad would never do that!" he then laughs. "Maybe."

William shrugs, "Well I know Aik wouldn't. Never know about Kentar. ..... Hope they aren't sitting in a dungeon somewhere."

"He would. I know dad." Chris nods. And then gets a shove by his brother. "Nah! He'd never do that!" "But I would." Robin smirks. "That's cause you've never known true love..." And Chris laughs. "Don't give me that. I've seen the way you talk to the stoatmaid cleaning the deck yesterday." Robin blinks and looks to the other stoat, looking almost panicked. "Hey! I asked if she needed help..." "Suure."

"Isn't one girl enough for you?" Will chuckles.

Robin blinks. "I asked if she wanted help! I would have done it for anyone." he nods. "Yeah. Surrre." Chris adds at the end.

William releases the railing to give Chris a light shove, "I think he's had enough." He turns to Robin, "What are you two up to anyway?"

The stoats smirk a little and Robin just frowns. "Oh not much." Chris nods. "Been thinking lately I suppose." he adds. Robin only nods. "Yeah. He's sorting out what to think of the whole...watching Aik's new son being born." he chuckles a little.

"Have they picked a name for him yet?" Will asks rather than asking what Chris was doing in the room with Fira at that time.

Chris shrugs. "I don't know." he says as he sits on the deck, leaning against the rail." he nods slowly. "It sort of...made me wonder how much mum went through with me." he thinks before shrugging.

Will says, "She wasn't in the best of health at the time as I remember. We were worried for a while but everything worked out fine."

"What?" Chris asks, blinking. "Mum wasn't well at the time?" he tilts his head and then oofs as Robin shoves him. "That explains a lot!" he laughs. Chris only frowns.

William frowns at Robin then address Chris, "Have your parent told you much about th black fox Anba_Hor before?" he asks.

Christopher hums a little bit and then tilts his head. "Never heard of him." he replies.

William sighs, "Well many seasons ago there was a black fox with white eyes. All white but he wasn't blind. He was very verminous. He killed many beasts and liked to hurt beasts. I first met him when I was a little younger than you are now. I got away but lost an eye. From then on our family would run into him now and then. He died a few times but kept coming back again. One day he took your folks away and did awful things to them. Kentar got away and then went back and rescued your mum. You were born not too long after that. That fox is why you aren't allowed t wander th woods by yourself. Thankfully your dad tricked the fox into thinking we're all dead so he hasn't been seen in a long time now. If we're lucky some day he might get killed and stay that way."

"Dad may have tricked him, but I was the one who put my life on the line." Robin adds before humming a little, looking to Chris who remains deathly silent. "Are you okay?" And Chris just stares. "Is that why dad is missing an eye?" he asks after a while. A long while. Smart kid! Or...not so smart.

"Yes that's why both me an your dad only have one eye a piece," Will says then narrows his eye at the young stoat and adds, "But you think for one second that you're going after him for ANY REASON you are wrong. We're on this ship til Aik an Kentar get back and the fox is back in Mossflower. If you try to go after him anyway I will recruit the twins if need be and tie you up and lock you in a room to save you from yourself either on ship or at home. And I doubt your parents would object much since it'd be for your safety."

Christopher nods a little bit and remains a bit blank for a few moments before sighing. "Why do bad things follow us? Are we cursed or something?" he asks, frowning before looking to William. "If dad can't kill him with his knife throwing, what makes you think I'd go after him by myself?" at least THIS stoat has sense.

William sighs and even smiles a little at Chris, "I've asked Aik that myself. Still waiting on an answer so can't help you there. And why did I think you'd go after him? Well that seems to be the usual response beasts give when they met him or he hurts someone they care about. Chasing after that fox never ends well though. That's why we stopped trying t kill him and just try to stay away from hm. Some might called it cowardly but beats gettin' killed."

"I want nothing to do with him." the stoat nods once before sighing to himself, slouching a little. "I don't like fighting." Chris says after another few moments. "I like throwing knives but only cause it looks cool." and all of a sudden, there's a loud snore from Robin who fell asleep.

"Good. Though sometimes ya have t fight. But it is good you have enough sense t not chase after vermin foxes. I didn't have that much sense at your age," the rat chuckles.

William says, "Wish I had. I'd be able t see a lot better that way."

Christopher smirks. "You didn't have mum. She'd have my tail if I were to go out after some vermin fox from her past." he nods. And its not hard to tell he's Kentar's son since he's got that accent, however mixed it is. He then grins. "I'll give you my eye..." he then pauses. "Ooh! Why not get a glass eye made?" he asks. "I'm sure you could get one fitted to your...er...eye?" It would be useless...and probably impossible to move...but it might look cool...

William grins, "Yeah she would too. I just had Aik back then. And he knew th fox already." He leans back against the ship's rail and shakes his head at the stoat's suggestion, "Zen suggested that when I was in th infirm at the Abbey after I lost my eye. But glass only works if have the coin for it and enough left t hold it in place. Path works for what I need it for."

Chris smiles. "I'm sure dad would get you one..." he nods. "He doesn't know what to do with his coin." he nods. "Maybe I could convince dad to buy him one too..." but he doesn't know how his father's eye was taken.

"If Kentar had wanted a glass eye I'm sure he would have got one by now," the rat says. And I'm very sure a glass eye wouldn't work for me. I don't think it would stay in and the fleash around there," he moves a claw around in a circle over his eye patch, "is all dead. No feeling in it. Wouldn't know if the thing was there or not."

Chris nods slowly and then frowns. "Sorry." he sighs a little. "Oh well, if you ever go evil, we'll just call you the one eyed bandit!" he smiles.

"Not likely," Will says, "I'm sure Aik an your dad could think of much 'better' names if that happened."

"Aww, come on! You and I could do great things as evil!" Chris smiles. "Imagine all the money we'd get!" he chuckles.

William chuckles, "Nice try but I like things how they are."

Christopher nods slowly and smiles a little. "Yeah, I suppose." he smiles. "Besides. I'm the only member of my family without a scar....I want to keep it that way." he nods.

"Good luck," Will says.

The stoat tilts his head. "Why good luck?" he asks, folding his arms. "I will do it." he nods.

William smirks, "You're more likely t get a scar from working than fighting. Usually happens when a tool you're using slips an cuts ya. And you can't get out of working around here. ... not easily."

Chris ohs and nods. "Right! Yeah." he nods slowly. "I see." he hums a little. "Well, then I'll just get sleeping beauty here..." He nudges the sleeping Robin next to him. "...to do more work for me!" he smiles.
