Setting Sail - Aclidia Here We Come er Are
Charaters: Aikuen, Kentar, Sebastian, William
Location: The Western Shore
The Western Shore: Near Aclidia
After one week... And a day. The group from Moledeep finally makes it too Aclidia. The southern harbor on the western shore. After hauling the cart over the familiar hill. The group stop to gander at the harbor below them. Aik sighs, "Wow. Its been over a year since the last time i was here... Since me an Will have been here..." he chuckles, "...Then two seasons before that... Its where i landed... Couldn't speak the language. Had nothing. Sides me. My swords. And this trunk..." he laughs, "... Welcome to Aclidia Everyone!" he hugs his wife.
Kentar and Robin follow along behind Aik, looking around. "Wow...furthest west we've ever been!" the stoat smile and looks around before grinning to each other. "Its nice here." they nod before looking to Aik. "Sooo! Where's our ship? When will we buy one?" Kentar asks as he bounces.
Aikuen tells the badger to carefully take the cart down the hill, as he goes follow along. Going to answer the stoat, waving to the harbor with his paw. With multiple multiple ships in its docks, "Somewhere over there... I still really need to go shopping for one. I just have an idea of what i want." he nods, "
"Hopefully the Golden pike will still be there"
Aikuen shakes his head, "If all works perfectly in our favor. But i estimate it will take a few days before we leave harbor. Got ta get a ship. Crew. Repair. Then we have to shop for stuff and food. Then pack it on board. Then double check everything... Damn. We are going to be very busy for awhile. Plus. I want to go shoppin for a bit. They got some neat stuff here..." he laughs.
William looks over the ships in the harbor trying to pick out the ones that match the description of the one Aikuen wants. "Golden Pike?" he asks the otter puzzled. When did they pick that name? Oh well guess it's as good as any. "We camping out til then?" he asks after a moment remembering there had been an inn in the city but given how many were in the group camping probably would be best or at least cheaper.
Kentar hums and looks to Will. "Dunno about you guys, but I don't feel comfortable camping in city streets! I'm getting a room at the inn with my wife and maybe my kids." he smirks with a grin, Robin just nudging him lightly with a laugh.
Aikuen nods, "Aye! The golden Pike. That's the name of the ship. I could name it whatever i blinkin want ta. But i cant think of anything real good. Sides its good for what it is!" he then nods along with Kentar, "And Aye me too...." back to William, "You can camp if you want to. I want stop yah." he laughs, and Fira nudges him.
The stoats grin at the rat and nods. "Yea! You sleep at night and get robbed! See if we care!" Robin grins and laughs with a smile. The stoats are in good moods! Which is a good thing. "So! What's the Golden Pike like?" Kentar asks, tilting his head.
William shakes his head. "Who's paying for the rooms at th inn or is it every beasts for himself?" he asks. He's not camping out there! There's a mountain full of hares and maybe a badger lord somewhere on this coast!
The Western Shore: Aclidia
The stoats hums a little bit and thinks for a few moments, shrugging slightly. "I'll pay for the rooms!" Kentar nods. "I brought every bit of money we had for stuff. Rooms included." He chuckles.
Aikuen chuckles, before looking at the stoats once more. Dodging an odd piece of driftwood, "Well here take a good look at this!" he says pulling a covered scroll from within the cart. Tossing it to the stoat, "This is a receipt from the ship. I got it almost two seasons ago... (look Golden)" he then looks toward Will, "Well. If Kentar is being gracious enough. The let him!" he laughs.
William also has money on him but if the stoat's paying this rat wont stop him. "I wouldn't dream of stoppin' him, Pa." he chuckles in answer to the old otter. "So where're we headed first?" he asks as the city gets larger and larger in front of them.
Kentar hums a bit and takes it, smiling. "Oh. So you already bought the ship before?" he asks with a smile. "So...you've got more money free..." The stoats grin. "Which means YOU can pay for the rooms!" They laugh.
Aikuen hrms as he pulls at his chin, "We will head to the inn first. Reserve rooms for us. And unload the cart inside it. Then..." he shrugs, "Well. Whatever we want to do then. Might go ship shoppin. Or might not." he chuckles before shoving the stoat, "A receipt for a ship. Is like the... The bill. I haven't actually bought the darn thing." he grins, "AND you already offered...."
The stoat aws and chuckles. "Alright, alright! Fine, I'll pay the rooms." he laughs a little and shakes his head with a smile. "So! Where's the inn? Is it out?" he laughs.
Aikuen blinks, "Is it out? What do you mean by that?" he chuckles as they step into the city limit of the harbor town. He points down the road. Toward the center of town, "I think its down there. I think. That's the last place i remember it being." he nods and hums.
William grins, "I don't think they've have moved it but then again we used to find 'inns' with Aik's nose more than real directions and I don't know if it still works that way or not."
Kentar chuckles a little bit. "Inn...out...get it? Inside, outside? Oh never mind!" The stoat chuckles then looks down the road. "Right!" he nods. "Well. I'm getting a big room. You all can sleep in the basement."
Aikuen shoves the stoat, with a laugh, "Oh Aye... I get it NOW... You big moron you." he then chuckles, "YAY! Thats sounds awesome. Can my kids also sleep on the floor? And i beat you up?" he nods a bit before grinning, "No. I Dont think it will work anymore Willyboy.
Its alright though. I'm sure I can find it" he nods.
Kentar hums a little bit and smirks, pushing Aik lightly in the side. "I'm the moron? You didn't get it right away." he laughs with a smile before sniffing around. "Hmm...I'm sure I could do that." he nods. No he couldn't.
Aikuen chuckles, "I used to be able to smell a pub from miles away. Though. Since i stopped drinking. Its has weakened seriously since then..." he sniffs too, "Not really. I don't smell the pub. I smell... The market!" he grins, "Mmmm... Breadsturfs!"
Kentar sniffs and looks around, mming. "Mm...and fishy things!" he chuckles before looking around. The stoat hums a little and looks around. "Well. I say we go to the inn first to get our rooms." he nods. "Which way, captain?!"
Aikuen points off the direction off the road, "I think. Its that way. Aye..." he points as a distant looking tavern looking thing, "Lets uhh.. Lets go that way then..." He heads off in that direction. Leading the cart. Some of the passing beasts give odd looks to the group at they roll and bump down the road.
The stoats look off in the direction that Aik is now going. They follow and chuckle. "Right!" Kentar grins as they go. He pulls up close to Aik and leans in to whisper. "When we're settled in, can I have a word?" he asks quietly.
Kentar nods a little and smiles. "Thanks." he whispers before looking around. "I wonder how much the rooms are per night." he hums a little bit, thinking for a few moments.
The Western Shore: Aclidia (Tavern)
Aikuen steps ahead of the group and bounces on the wooden porch of the tavern "I'm don't remember. Lets head in and find out... Come on Seb. Go set the cart over there." Points to the side of the building, "And wait while we get us some rooms for us all..." he nods.
The badger nods and brings the cart to the pointed spot. He leans against it and yawns a little as he looks around. Kentar nods and goes inside, the stoat looking around and humming quietly to himself.
Aikuen nods and waits until everything is alright. All set up and such. Before Aik follows the stoat inside. Leaving the others outside to wait with the stuff. Aik goes to stand behind the stoat, "Looks a little drab. But the rooms are alright..." he nods a bit as he points to the bar, "Here. Talk to that guy... That old grizzled otter. He was the one you talk too about getting rooms upstairs." he nods again.
William wanders into the tavern after the others. He wonders how many rooms they'll be getting and hopes he doesn't have to share a room with the badger. Though if they do divide by families, Robin may have to share with the badger and Will as they three are the only 'single' beasts in the group. Well single in the having no one with them sense at least.
The stoat hums and oohs, nodding. "Right!" Kentar says as he heads over to the bar, starting to arrange their rooms. Robin just orders an ale, and sits down with the others. "Mm...been a while since I've been in a pub...or an inn." he chuckles a little.
Aikuen goes over to sit at the bar, next to Robin. While Kentar orders their room, "Same for me. Pub at least anyway. Been a couple of seasons for me anyway..." he chuckles and shakes his head when he asks if he wants anything. The old grizzled otter looks over a battered book when the stoat comes up to him. His face looks like its been battered by salt water for all his life. He looks up and says, "Private Rooms 20 a night. Common room 7 a night..." he states flatly. Like he has said it a billion times.
Robin hums and takes a long drink from the ale, ahing quietly as he sits back. "Mm..." he chuckles slightly. Chris just sits down next to him and yawns, setting his head on the table with a thud, watching Robin closely. Kentar hums a little bit and nods. "Alright well. Five rooms." he nods. "For...er...a few nights. Do I pay when we're done, or after each night, or up front?" he asks
The inn keepers looks under the desk and pulls out 5 sets of keys and tosses them on the book, "5 rooms. 100 pieces a night then... All up front for guaranteed nights. Pay more as need be..." he nods then hrms, "Though i cant guarantee a room then..." he nods a bit, "Then just a right your name here..." he points to a blank spot in the book. He is not the most friendly beast to love.
William eyes robin a bit, "Watch yourself. You want t be able t get up in th morning."
Kentar hums a little bit and nods. "Righto..." he hums a little, glad he went with five rooms rather then just a room for each. The stoat then puts down about a week and a half worth of nights to make sure they get what he thinks they'll need, but he'll fork out more if they need longer. He then nods and then starts to pay up for the guaranteed nights. Robin hums a little and smirks. "Please. One or two ales won't even buzz me." he nods. "Three on the other hand...that will." he hums.
William shakes his head at the young stoat, "Two easily becomes three and three turns to four ... and so on. Just don't over do it. That's all I'm asking."
The otter hrms and nods, "Alright that will be... eleven hundred pieces then..." he eyes the stoat. That's a lot of pieces. But if he gots it. Alright then. Aikuen hrms and nods in agreement with Will, "Just be careful robby. Believe me!" he chuckles.
William adds, "If you can't walk a straight line we'll have to leave you here when we leave."
Kentar ergs a little and nods. That's a lot. But he's got a lot. Not as much as Aik though. He pays up after a few minutes counting, the stoat heading back to the table. "Wow, the rooms are expensive."he says, looking almost pale. "Don't worry, I wont drink too much." The stoat chuckles before nodding at his dad. "Right. So. Room assignments." he nods.
Aikuen chuckles at Will, "I like that idea... Huhuh. So... Watch your intake then!" he pats Robby on the back. Before looking toward Kentar, "They are? Hoe much where they a night?" he then hrms at the next part, "Room assignments?" He better get one with him and his kids.
Kentar hums. "A hundred a night for a week and a half." he nods. "For five rooms." the stoat hurms. "Right. So. Robin, and I will take one room..." he pockets a key. "Garnet, Fira, and the twins should fit in the second." he hands another key to his wife. "Aik, and Sebastian can have the third." he tosses a key to the otter across from him. "Chris and Will will share the fourth room." he tosses the key to his son who catches it lazily. "And Kluner, who I think is with Seb outside, will have his own room." he nods. "Sound good?"
Aikuen brows go up at the price, "Really? Wow. That IS alot." he hrms then snorts at the room assignments, "Oh well. Darn then. Its okay though." It will be interesting to have that sorta sleeping arrangement. But it will also be kinda neat as well. He catches the key deftly.
William isn't quite sure why Kluna get his own room but otherwise the arrangement sounds good. Mainly because someone will be watching the badger and Will won't have to watch the twins as much.
Kentar chuckles a little bit and nods. "Good!" he smiles, stashing his key away. "So!" he hums a little bit. "What now?" he chuckles quietly as he looks around for a few moments, almost tempted to get an ale or something.
Aikuen stashes his key in his pocket before saying, "Well. I think we should go and unpack everything first. Then... Have the rest of the day off?" he asks the others around him.
Kentar nods! "Sounds good to be." He chuckles, standing up. Chris and Robin remain seated. Robin just sips away at his ale, nodding. "Yep. Sounds good. I'll be with you when I'm done!" he chuckles. Chris nods. "Same. I'll be with you when I'm done!" what he's doing is unclear, in fact, it looks like nothing...so when he's done nothing, he'll be there!
William moves to scoop up the littlest stoat best he can, "Come on sleepy head. We're gonna check out our room."
Aikuen nods at Kentar, "Alrighty then. Help me get my trunk. Then ill help you get stuff as well..." he nods at Kentar, as he heads out the door and back to the cart.
Chris huhs and awws, chuckling. Robin grins and waves his mug at him. "See you later, stoatanator!" he chuckles. He drinks down the last few gulps of ale before standing. "Right! Lets get unpackin!" he nods. Kentar nods and follows Aik. "Righto!"
William watches Robin a moment or two before heading up the stairs to pick out a room with Chris so the other will have somewhere to unload all the stuff.
Chris squirms a little in Will's grip. "I can walk you know..." he says as he tries to get down, the stoat frowning a little bit.
"I know but you weren't" the rat says letting his nephew down. "Race ya?" he asks starting up the stairs already. Will is fast but he wants a head start for two reasons. One being much younger the stoat is very likely faster than him and two never know who may already be upstairs. Better for Will to bump into random strangers than for Chris to.
The stoat grins once he's free, darting up the stairs after Will. "Heeey, come back!" he says, trying to over take the rat. Chris grins as he manages to, JUST BARELY, get up the stairs before Will.
The Western Shore: Aclidia (Tavern: Upstairs)
"Ok you won," Will laughs stepping in front of the stoat before he starts running around up stairs. "Now we need to pick out five rooms. And one will be yours and mine so we need to pick good ones," the rat says.
Christopher grins and nods. "Right! Which room are we gonna take?" He asks, tilting his head as he looks around, bouncing a little bit.
William shrugs, "Don't know. Which five look good to you?" The rat counts the doors they pass and tries their key on some to see if all the doors have the same lock or not.
Not all the locks are the same. The key opens the middle door on the left hand side. "Well...looks like this one." he nods as he goes to peek inside.
The Western Shore: Aclidia (Tavern: Room 2)
William nods. "Guess this one's ours. Th others'll have t find their own rooms themselves then." he says walking into the room. "Where do you want t sleep," he asks.
