Setting Sail: Telluga

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

What remains of the group. Stands on the cliff overlooking the large, and seeming ever expanding chasm that seems to get deeper with every minute. The bridge is still there. That leads to the large plateau where the relic of a town once was. But no one has yet gone to see if even the bridge is alright for crossing.

Aik sits on a rock as he looks over at the mesa, "There has to be someone there..." he hums to his self.

"There does?" Will asks, "How do we know it's not abandoned .... like .... that old abbey place was before Redwall was built?"

Aikuen looks over at Will and blinks a bit, "What place?" he is not familiar with the larger of Mossflower lore. But nothing comes straight to mind. He then points out at the mesa, "I... I just know there is someone there... I have that... Gut feeling." he then chuckles, "Also you can see that one of the buildings... has been rebuilt." he laughs.

Sebastian just stands at the bridge and watches it carefully. "Well...I suppose I can test out the bridge...if it can support me, it will support you guys." he nods to himself.

William tries to remember but the name isn't coming to him. "Some place a bunch of mice came from ages ago. Left cause they were all getting sick an dying. Their Abbot or whatever built Redwall or something like that." He adds apologetically, "Been a while since I read about it. Don't remember all the story. I think Martin was friends with the mice and they made th Abbey."

Aikuen hums and taps his claws against the rock. He seems to have stopped... well. Living. for about half a minute before he snaps his claws, "Loamhedge?" he asks by shooting in the dark. He then stands at the badgers offer, "Really? Are you sure? That would be great..." he smiles, "Need a rope?" he asks him. They did bring it.

Sebastian blinks and looks to Aik with a laugh. "You can't be serious. A rope? Please...what would that do? There's no way for you to be able to pull me up should I fall." he nods. "I'm too heavy." he smirks. "I'll be fine.

William nods, "Yeah that's the place! It was abandoned for an age and when it wasn't it wasn't a very nice place t visit." Will watches Seb and glances over at Aik, "Would be a shame t lose the badger but least we have a spare. Rope'd be for you t climb out with silly beast."

Aikuen knows a bit about Loamhedge. Just had to give him a few minutes to figure it out. He takes one of the ropes a random crew (that went with them) and ties it around a tree. Then hands the other end to the badger, "Willmeboy is right. We know we cant pull you out. This is in case the bridge breaks... you just dont fall into oblivion." he snorts with a smile.

Seb takes the rope and chuckles quietly. "Alright...but I doubt the tree can hold me either." he chuckles as he ties it around himself before heading slowly on to the bridge...one step at a time.

"Then perhaps you shouldn't scoff so much?" Will suggests. "And if it doesn't it should hold long enough for us to grab th rope or think of something else t help ya," he adds.

Aikuen chuckles at the rat before twanging on the rope, "We might find out soon enough..." but it looks like the bridge can take the badgers weight. But not without complaining. It creaks loudly with every step. And the wooden suspenders (the ones that are there) almost seem to break to every step. But it holds as the badger walks on.

Seb doesn't normally seem scared...and now, is no exception. He looks as cool as a cucumber! If cucumbers had stripes and were extremely huge. The badger slowly walks on and on, making sure to be careful, getting closer and closer to the other side. The badger... Almost makes it to the other side without problems. Its the second to last block... That decides that having a badger step on it was the last straw. It creaks louder then the rest, and before anything can stop it. Breaks in to and falls to the dark void below. Sebastian thought he'd get off without a scratch but that thought was only replaced with a loud grunt when the plank under him gave out, his leg going right down, and almost takes the rest of him with it. He grabs on to one of the sturdier planks and gets his footing again before getting to the other side with a huff.

Aikuen runs up to the starts of the bridge and ergs, "Seb!..." he then smiles as the badger gets back up and makes it to the other side. He grins and bangs his fist. Going to yell a bit of an instruction, "Tie... Your end of the rope... To that tree!" he points to behind the badger, "We will use it... As a safety line!"

The badger unties the rope from himself and then ties it to the tree. He then nods and smiles. "Ready!" he calls out.

Aikuen smiles and holds up his thumb claw in recognition. He nods at the rest before he goes first. Keeping a paw on the rope as he goes across. He gets to the other side of the chasm without trouble. He smiles and pats the badger on the arm, "Thanks mate!" he then goes back to the others, "Okay! Come on!" he calls out to them before looking at the town. It is a relic of a town. Looks like it was burnt to the ground. And there is not a roof in the entire row of buildings. Leading up to a broken fountain... That is still spewing water from a spring.

The badger follows Aik along and looks around. "Wow...looks like this place was lost seasons ago." he hums a little.

Aikuen nods a bit, "It does... I mean. Look at this place..." he touches a bit of the ashed old wood. Which seems to... fall apart at the mere touch. He hums a bit, "I wonder what happened here..." The reach a sign thats put in the ground. Near the broken fountain it reads 'Telluga'. Aik blinks at it before pointing at the only building with a roof, "Thats... Odd"

Sebastian follows along and reads the sign, tilting his head. "Interesting." he draws his sword slowly...and holds it with one paw, which seems rather amazing. "Perhaps someone lives there...perhaps someone who did this..." he hums.

Aikuen hums and nods a bit as he carefully walks toward the building, "Perhaps..." he waves a paw to the other to stay back as he goes toward the door. Placing a paw on the nob. He whispers, "Its open... Ill open the door. And you go in first..." he nods as he puts his free paw on his dagger hilt.

Seb nods and puts his other paw onto his sword, making it much easier to hold and control as he steps up to the door. He nods once to the otter and looks back at the door, ready to go in.

Aikuen nods in return before opening the door to let the bigger beast charge in. Inside looks like... Well. Some would call a pack rat lives there. Piles of junk of every sort line the walls. Books. Looms. Wheels. Just everything. In the dark. Dank room. But there is something. Its smells like warm honey in the room. Its almost... Intoxicating. And there is a bit of scurrying in the back. Behind some of the junk.

Sebastian steps in quickly once the door is open and then pauses. "Wow...its a mess..." he blinks before giving a sniff. "Mm...but sure smells great." he chuckles a bit before his eyes catch something scurry...and then he booms out with his voice...badgers can do that you know..."Over there...come out where I can see you!" his deep badgery voice shouts out...anyone standing next to him might have to cover their ears

Aikuen peeks around the corner... Then leans back as the booming voice funnels out of the house like gong. The scurrier cries in the darkness before poking his needles out behind some barrels. Its an aging hedgehog. Old. And grey. Wrinkly. Messing a large portions of his spine. He wears large pair of specs, and a ragged green tunic as he says,

"Owwwww....P-Please don't hurt me... He is not gonna hurt you... He might. He wont... but look at the size of this brute" he seems... To be talking to himself.

William looks around Seb at the old hedgehog, "Hey there, ol edgepig, we aren't gonna urt ya. We just want know what happened t this place," the rat says trying to sound consoling and comforting and so forth.

Seb huhs a bit. "Oh! Sorry..." he says, putting his sword back on his back. "We didn't mean to scare you...we thought whoever might have done this would...be here...I'm Sebastian."

The old hedgehog peeks out a little more. Putting his specs on higher toward his nose, "Not gonna hurt me?" Then sounding completely different he says, "That'il be the day!" as he dumps some of the junk (A DISTRACTION) and then runs backwards... There is a sound of a door squeaking and closing quickly. As he uses his oh so secret door.

"Or we could hurt you if you'd rather," Will mutters annoyed by the odd beasts actions. "I think he's not right in th head," he adds to the others as if they needed to be told this.

Kentar happens to be standing right on the other side of the door when the hedgehog opens it. The stoat grins and chuckles. "I hope you're not running away...how rude..." He goes to step forward, trying to push the hog back into the home without touching him.

Sebastian blinks. "I figured that, William." he nods.

And then the funniest thing happens to the hedgehog. When Kentar just comes out of the woodwork. That's when he lost it. His eyes roll in the back of his head before falling face first into the ground. Completely out. Aik runs up from behind as he heard the commotion, "Ummm..." he looks at the hedgehog.

Kentar blinks when the hedgehog falls over. "I didn't touch him..." he says when Aik comes over. "I think he fainted..."

Sebastian huhs and chuckles a little, shaking his head. "Silly thing..." he smirks.

William blinks, "He was kinda old. Hope th scare didn't kill im."

Aikuen hums as he leans down and place it on the old hogs neck. Well. Right above his chest is more like it. He nods a bit, "He is still alive..." he prods one of his spines, "Though just barely... Hey. Go get some water. And see if we can revive this beast..." as he goes to lean the hog against the building, "Will. Go see if he has anything to... Well. Tie him down. He might be dangerous if he IS lost in the head..." he sighs sadly.

The stoat nods and heads off to go get some water. Sebastian folds his arms and then thinks. "Maybe I should find a bed or chair or something to put him on." he nods.

William nods rooting through the odds and ends the hedgehog has collected. He assumes it all the hedgehogs things anyway. "Here's a fishing net. Some of it's rotted up not all of it. And maybe the rope Seb was using would be helpful?"

Aikuen thinks about it and nods at Seb, "Aye. Go find a cot or something. We don't want to seem... Well. Too scary at the moment. Might just up and scare him to death..." he smiles at the net and holds it across his paws, "It will be fine... Aye. Just fine. Thanks..."

Seb nods and heads off to sort through the mess, seeing if there's a cot anywhere. Kentar comes back a few minutes later with a few flasks of fresh water. "Here..." he hands them to Aik.

William nods going to help Seb look for a cot or some kind of bed for the old beast.

Aikuen takes the net and tosses it over the hedgehog. Placing a few light rocks at the end. He then smiles at the stoat, "Okay... Hand me one of them... Okay. Watch it. Try to keep him from hurting anyone. Even if it means well..." he shrugs as he goes to look at the hog. He takes a bit of water from the flask and tosses a few at his face.

The hog... Slowly wakes up. Not with a start. Like most do.

Sebastian continues to look around before finding a cot. "I found something, Aik!" he calls out with a nod. Its in pretty rough shape but should be good enough to tie down the hog to

William nods to the otter and rests a paw causally on the hilt of his sword. It looks quite natural almost accidental. The rat would not have a problem with killing the hedgehog if given a reason to.

Aikuen hurries the badger over, "Come on... Lets get'em on the cot before he wakes up." he says that for the badger to do. As he could probably do the whole thing with the net. No trouble at all.

The hog still slowly blinks and looks around... Still not getting much of anything.

Seb nods and then just bends over...and picks up the hedgehog...he winces a little as the needles prick him in places but he shrugs it off and puts him on the cot he found. "Here we go." he nods.

William helps rearrange the rocks on the net when the hedgehog is moved.

The hog blinks as he knows he is getting moved around. But his ole rickekty bones wont let him move. No wait. Its the net... net? He doesn't remember a net being on him. The hog looks up. Right into the eyes of the rat, "HOLY IN THE NAME OF THE THINGS THAT ARE GOOD!" he yells trying to move. But cant.

Aik says, "Calm down you."

William says, "Hello again. Wasn't very nice of you to run away like that. We only want t talk t ya."

The hig struggles against his restraints, "Only came te' talk? Likly storey. Come to finish off me and me brothers you have. Weeeeeeell. You cant get ole Mort! Ill give you the slip. youll see. No pirates can get ole Morty!" he chuckles evilly. Looking toward the others. An otter. A stoat... and a badger. He blinks. Okay. Something is wrong here

William smiles, "Now I'm sure this may be a bit hard t swallow but we aint pirates, mate. "

Kentar hums. "You can trust us..." he nods. And then he decides to pull the net off him, throwing it away. "We're nice beasts..." he nods. "And if you don't trust us, we'll leave. We don't want to make you uncomfortable." The stoat nods before motioning to Sebastian, and the others as he turns to leave. "Sorry we bothered you..." he wonders if his plan will work or not as Seb starts to follow.

Seb chuckles a bit. 'Do I really look like a pirate? I maybe big but I'm no pirate." the badger chuckles.

Mort blinks at the rat. Then at the badger.

Then at the otter as he then speaks, "We are not pirates mate. Just explorers." he chuckles a bit and holds out the flask of water.

Mort just blinkblinks away. Like he has something in his eye, "Well. Mort aint telling you guys nuffin. 'Ow can i trusts you fours... " he frowns. But stops resisting against the net.

William makes a point to be ahead of the badger should the old fogey be dense enough to attack them.

Aikuen blinks as he wasnt informed of the plan. But is quick to keep as he follows beside his son.

Mort... Is well. Happy with the scenario. good riddance to bad rubbish. Then he realizes something as he gets up, "Ummm. Wait... Have... Have you seen my brothers?" he asks. Maybe they are good beasts. And maybe they will help him find them.

Will says, "You're th first beast we've come across didn't see anyone else yet. Wouldn't know where t look either as we don't know th place or your brothers." He assumes the burning had been done by pirates it makes sense given what little information their 'hostage' has provided them.

Mort blinks and hums, as he tries to run to catch up with the others. But more of just limps toward them. One leg it seems wont bend, "Me brothers. Me twin brothers. There is three of us. I am mort. I run the church here... Dok. He runs the docks... Then Shoe... He runs the local store." he hobbles along and points at a broken, run down, building "Thats the store... come on. Lets see iffen he is there" hobble hobble.

William tilts his head at the hedgehog, "You'm shore yer wants be trustin' th likes o us'un, zur?" he asks smilng as sweety as a one-eyed rat can. Which if you aren't a rat yourself doesn't seem very sweet at all.

Mort nods a bit, "Whelp. Seeing as you have na' killed me yet. And your the first beasts that have been in Telluga in over twenty seasons. Forgive me if I am a might trusting. I guess Ima not righ in the head for it then? eh?" he chuckle oddly.

William shrugs and laughs, "Probably not ole timer but you can't be that much more ancient than anyone else I've meet yet and you do know th place best of all of us, might as well come along. We said we wouldn't hurt ya and so long as you don't give us reason to we'll stick t that."

Mort continues to hobble along. Leading them to the cracked building, "Thanks maties...I needs the help...Ima no fighter there young'un. Now. Dok... He, ye gotta watch out for. Shoe is alright if you dont riles him up too much!" he snorts. They arrive at the building. And what sticks out is... An odd. Broken mirror. Placed against the last bit of wall. At one time this building was maybe once a store. But the broken shelves that line it. And there is ever a few burnt times on said shelves. Mort smiles as he begins to talk rapidly. In two different accents, "Ahhh! There be Shoe! Hiya Shoe..." "Hiya Mort. Has me favorite little brother?" "Daw you only say that as you were born fore' me!"

William looks over at Aik, "... Wonder what'll happen once they're all together." From what he can see the hedgehog is talking to himself. Seeing the old hog talk three ways should be something.

Aikuen hums a bit as he strokes his chin. Smiling a bit. Even though he shouldn't, "I don't know. But i don't think we will ever get a word in edgewise..." he snorts quietly. He walks forward a bit and says, "Well. We found Ummm... Shoe. Where do you think Dok is?" he asks thoughtful.

William nods, "Didn't Mort say he was at the docks? And to be careful of him. .... Now which way were the docks again?"

Mort smiles as he looks at the mirror for a few seconds then looks back at the rat, "Oh yes Mr. Rat! Dok... works at the docks. Funny 'ow that came about eh?" he laughs as he starts to hobble out of the 'store' waving at thin air, "Goodbye Shoe! We might be back for some grubby later!" "Eh okay there Mort!" "The Docks be this way!" he starts to hobble toward he edge of town. The 'docks' or what is left of them. Is what seems a wooden bridge that stopped way to short for its own good. It just juts out of the cliff. And is broken several times. What most noticeable is... A skeleton of a hedgehog that lays/hangs off the dock.

William doesn't say a word. He just waits to see what Mort will do first. Offering to burry and dead hog may not go over well if Mort believes his brother to be alive as well.

Aikuen doesn't say anything either. Figuring that the dock. Was actually a real working dock at one time. And this chasm is just left of a very deep river. That he gets. The bones on the other hand. Eh.

Mort smiles as he hobbles toward the skeleton, "Hello my dear oldest brother! How are you today!" He doesn't say anything more. But then starts to laugh loudly, "Ah. Good one Dok. Always a cut up ye are!" he then points behind him, "Dok. Meet me new friends." He waves at him then back to the group he says, "My brother is the greatest. While me and Shoe were hiding. He held off the pirate horde. SINGLE PAWED! It was a site to see." he grins.

William nods a bit, "Sounds like it. Would he be wantin' to go an see your other brother you think? I only ask you on account of your brother is being such a great hero an all." The rat is trying to humor Mort and not offend his 'brother'. Mort did say this brother was the more dangerous of the three of them after all.

Mort hums as he looks back to... What is left of Dok, "Hmmm. Thats not a bad idea young'un...Eh Dok?" he smiles and then nods, "Well okay. Ill see both of ye for lunch. Dont scoff it all before we get a chance to eat it!" he laughs before looking back at the others. Rubbing his paws together, "It be a real pleasure seeing new faces. I love me brothers to death. But i need something... Better to look at once in awhile!" he laughs heartily.

"Pa," Will whispers to the otter, "I think th ole loony means t keep us here."

Aikuen hums and whispers back, "I think you're right there son... Come on... I have. An idea..." He smiles as he approaches the hog, "... Well. Get ready to see some more of these faces!" he grins, "Will be staying awhile!!" he says. But behind his back. For the other to see. Is that he crossed his claws. Mort smiles and slaps his good knee, "Well Good-dy!" he grins.

Mort smiles and says, "Well okay then gents. If you wish to stay here. Ill take you to the inn." he grins as he heads back into town.

Aik nods in agreement as he follows the hog. Whispering to the rat, "Tonight. We will get away. None will be the wiser." he hums quietly.

Wiliam says, "I wonder what the inn is like."

Its dark out at the town in Tellgua. A relic of a once great town set on a mesa. Surrounded by a deep chasm. With the only way on or off. Is by a rickety old bridge. The old burned town seems to have one resident. Mort, a Hedgehog. Who seems to have split personality with his twin brothers. Who he thinks are still alive. This is caused, by being the last living soul on an island for twenty seasons. The crew plans to escape the town. That was before they were hobbled into the Inn. Which is nothing more than a brunt square with no roof. They have to follow the hogs orders. They don't know how dangerous he really is. Aik is sitting on a barrel of some sort. Whetting his blade slowly. He does not wish to kill the hog. But it might come to that for the safety of the crew.

Kentar and Sebastian are sitting next to Aik as well. Sebastian has his huge sword across his lap as he polishes it, and Kentar is practicing his aim with his throwing knives...not that he needs to. "So...when are we leaving?" he asks. "I'm not entirely sure we should...leave him...alive..." Sebastian frowns. "If he thinks his brothers are still alive, I'm not sure what he'd think about us..."

Aikuen hums at he licks the stone, before going back to whetting, "As soon as the moon is high mate... When the hog is fast asleep..." he then looks to the badger, "I dont wish to kill him mate. I just want to get out of here. Thats all..." he hums, "He is just a hog who lost his mind..."

Sebastian hums a little. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm not too keen on having a hedgehog think we're there....and then acting like us..." he hums a bit and nods before shrugging. "But I would feel better leaving him alive, I suppose..." not really. )

Aikuen chuckles lightly. Its funny. Sad, but funny, "Well... Its not like it will change anything. Wither he acts like us or not. Not like we are going to be here..." he chuckles a bit, "We will just leave him here... And forget this ever happened..."

Kentar hums and smiles. 'Forget what happened?" he asks with a laugh. The badger only shakes his head at Kentar and chuckles. "Indeed."

Aikuen just rolls his eyes as he points his dagger lazily at the stoat, "That we ever landed on this crud of an island. And met Mort... you moron." he shakes his head.

"I was joking...you moron." Kentar smirks as he pushes his knives into his belt, nodding before looking to Sebastian. "Do you think you can survive another bridge trip?" he asks with a chuckle.

Aikuen sighs and he sheaths his dagger, "Well... Stop that." he snorts before nodding, "Im sure we will. We have a safety line if push comes to shove. I think what we have to contend with is just getting out of here. Without him noticing."

Seb nods a bit and chuckles. "Yeah...." Kentar then looks to Aik and thinks for a moment. "So...what happens if he does notice?" he asks.

Aikuen hums and sighs, "We... WILL... get out without anyone getting hurt." he frowns. Its not something he wants to think about.

Kentar frowns a little. "That's not what I asked...what happens if he notices? Will he attack? Will we attack? Will we just knock him out? Or what?"

Aikuen frowns even more, "A beast with split personality. Will get violent. Basic brain science... He said his bother Dok was a bit of a hard edge. We might come across him. If he attacks we attack back... and so on. Once again. Only if we have too..."

Kentar nods slowly. "I don't want to hurt him either, Aik. But if I have to...I will kill him..." he sighs and pats on the otter's shoulder. "Its too bad too...he seems nice..."

Aikuen sighs, "I just don't want to smear out first island decent to be with a death... If at all possible. Lets just knock him out." he nods a bit and pats the stoats paw on his shoulder, "Well... He is nice. Just. From what ive seen. Well. Mort is anyway." he snorts a bit as he heads over to the 'door' Or what was left of it.

The stoat nods and watches Aik head to the door. "Is it time?" he asks, tilting his head to one side.

Aikuen hums and ohs, "Oh... Umm..." he looks to the sky and he looks back at the others, "...Now is better than ever i guess... Wake the others and ill keep watch here..." he nods as he watches carefully.

Kentar nods slowly and then nods to Sebastian, ordering him to get William up. And so the badger does. And Star. He gets the sea lion up too as they get ready. "We're all ready."

Aikuen nods and he waits till they get back, "That everyone?" he asks and looks around. Quickly looking around and naming off the beasts here. He nods and says. Okay. Good... Follow me. And keep low. And Quiet..." he taps his head before heading off toward the bridge at the other end of the town.

The town is dark and quiet. Nothing is moving, nor is there any sound. Aik leads them until they get to the bridge. And there is a torch stuck into the ground. And the hog. Covered in head to foot in heavy armor. He hasnt seen the others yet. As he watches the bridge... Twitching.

Kentar and Sebastian, as well as the others, nod and slowly head off. The stoat has two throwing knives in paw, while the badger has his huge sword...and when they stop, Seb frowns at the sight of Mort, muttering quietly to himself in some foreign language...weird...he doesn't have much of a foreign accent...Kentar creeps up to Aik and whispers in. "Seb could sneak up behind him and knock him out..." he suggests extremely quietly.

Aikuen nods and says, "Okay. Do it quickly..." Thinking there might be no other way.

When the otter speaks the hog turns around and grabs the torch. His eyes are red and his lips are foamy, "WHO THE FROG IS THERE?" he laughs Manically, "Mort was wrong. I knew when you invaded the armory. I knew you guys were pirates! Well. Now you have to deal with Dok the Fighter! And i will burn this bridge! I SWEAR TO FROG, i will." more laughing.

Kentar freezes and raises a paw slowly, ready to launch a knife at the hog...and when he spies the condition of Mort...he freezes and stares...he's not stupid. Seb on the other hand was already moving away...he was trying to use what little shadow there was to his advantage, trying to very slowly get behind him, his large sword at the ready to clop him over the head if he gets close enough. Kentar just blinks. "Maybe I should have suggested going after the torch instead." he mutters quietly to the captain.

The problem about being a badger. Being sneaky. Even in the dark. Is a formidable task. Dok whirls in the direction of Seb, "NO! NO! BACK AWAY!" he holds the torch over the bridge ropes. As one or two flames flick the dry rope. He grins, "You will... Back...Away. Got it?" Aikuen hums as he thinks about it for a few seconds, "Yeah... We have to this carefully. If he burns the bridge... Its going to be a long walk home..." he mutters quietly.

Seb blinks and stops dead in his tracks. "Alright..." he says with a nod. "No need to do that..." he smiles a bit, slowly backing off, his sword lowering. Kentar hums a little bit, gripping his knife tighter. "I could...maybe aim to hit the torch? Maybe knock it away from the bridge..." he frowns. "Or I could just kill him outright...maybe we should..." he whispers.

Aikuen bites his lower lip as he runs the sceneries through his mind, "He is wearing armor and chain. And not looking at you. The most you can do is knock him out. Even with a good shot... And even if you do that. He will drop the torch on the bridge... If you hit the torch... Its also a chance the torch will hit the bridge... This is..." he nods, "Okay i got it. Right between his gauntlets and cuirass... There is an opening where the underarm is exposed. If you hit him. It will paralyze him. Then seb can... Well. Do the rest. Oh lord i hope you are a good shot."

Kentar nods slowly, the stoat aiming carefully. "I've never missed a shot in my life...its not just a skill.." he looks to Aik and smiles. "Its my hobby." He smirks quietly before looking to Seb and giving a nod. The badger spots the nod without taking his eyes off Mort, staying quiet. He's ready to charge and dive in for the torch should he have to. And then woosh! Kentar's knife shot out of his paw like lighting from the sky, heading right for that opening in the armor.

Dok raises his paw with the torch at the badger, "Now. We are getting somewhere... Okay. Pirates... I have a few *shthonk* SON OF A!" as he he is rooted to the spot for a second. Then.. The badger. You can see the horror in the eyes of the hedgehog as the badger sweeps low. Right at the hogs chest. And makes contact like a baseball bat. There is loud sickening crack as most of the bones in the hogs body are shattered and he is launched into the chasm. He is going. Going. Gone. With a loud metallic think as he rolls down the cliffs.

But there is another problem. The torch. It lands right on the bridge. Aik spots this before anyone else does and knocks away the torch. Batting at some of the marks. But damage has been done.

Sebastian sent the hog over the chasm and almost went over himself, his arm grabbing the ledge as he slowly pulls himself up. His sword is gone, but he's not. "Get across! Quickly before the bridge is gone...." he barks out.

Aikuen nods and yells out at the others, "Come! Lets gogogogo!" he motions for the rest to move before him. The bridge squeaks under the immense reassure of the beasts. But it seems to hold up. For now.

Kentar stays at the bridge. "Get going yourself you...." he goes to push Aik towards the bridge. Star flops along quickly, sort of 'arfing' as she goes. He waits until William is gone on as well...and then he spies Sebastian still pulling himself up. He runs over and helps up the badger. "Come on you..." the badger gets up and heads towards the bridge.

Aikuen grunts a bit and ergs before nodding, "Come back to us mate..." Before he follows behind the last of the crew across the bridge. It seems to be on its last straw. As one of the ropes breaks off loudly. But its still in place. Aik yells as he was still on the bridge and crawls the way across the last few steps.

Kentar and Sebastian dart across the planks, and just as they near the other end, the other rope snaps...and the bridge collapses. Sebastian, who was behind Kentar at the time, grabs the stoat and hurls him the final few meters before gabbing the rope, and going down with the bridge...landing with a thud against the chasm wall. He oofs and blinks, looking up. The rope on this side is still attached but is starting to creak as he starts to climb up as quickly as he can, the rope thinning and almost breaking right there.

Aikuen ergs and barks out orders as he can, "Get a rope! A vine! Anything! Get ready to haul up a badger!" he yells out. Going over to the side and holding onto the nearest plank. I wont do much. But its something, "Come on Seb... I am not leaving you here!" he mumbles.

Kentar landed with a loud thud and an oof, not entirely sure what just happened. The ground was caving in from under him...and then he was on something solid. He then hear's Aik's order and knows what happened, blinking as he grabs some rope. "Here!" But it was too late...the rope Seb was already climbing snapped...and it, and the badger vanished! (re)

Aikuen nods at the stoat, and was about to toss the rope over the edge. When the bridge breaks. The otter looks over the side and yells, "SEBASTIAN!" And he can't see the badger anymore. Just the sound of the bridge shattering at the bottom of the chasm. Aik slams his fist into the ground and curses loudly. It was his fault...

Kentar just stares down...and drops the rope onto the ground with a blink. "He...he saved my life..." he blinks. And just stares off into the darkness

Aikuen stares down with him. As he crouches and blinks, "...He's gone... I cant... I cant believe it..." he slams his paw again, "Thats just..." He curses like a sailor before placing his head on the ground, "...Its my fault. I wanted to go island hopping. I had to go see the island..." he sighs loudly.

Kentar sighs himself and shakes his head. A tear falls from his eye as he goes to try to pick Aik up. "Lets go..." he says quietly. "Lets get back to the ship...and leave..." he sighs, turning away and starting to walk slowly away from the chasm.

Aikuen doesn't want to get up. Not without a little help. He grumbles to himself as he does get up eventually, "Yeah... Lets... Lets go..." he looks down one more time before saying, "Good bye Seb... Im... Sorry..." he blinks and rubs at his eye before going to follow the rest out.

But no sooner had they turned away, the group heard a voice. "So...does this mean I won't get a rope after all?" That was Sebastian's voice. Kentar turns around and blinks, seeing the badger struggling to get up on solid ground..."Seb!"

Aikuen sighs before he hears the badger. What the frog? He blinks as he runs back with the stoat, "HOLY DAMN!..." he grins lightly as he says, "Seb! Your... Your... SEB!"

"I'm also having trouble moving...so a little help would be nice." The badger grunts out. As he manages to get into view a bit more, there's a large gash on the side of his head, and blood has decided to make a waterfall. And the lack of motor functions might indicate he's battling unconsciousness. Kentar blinks and runs over, trying to help him, but can't quite make any difference.

Aikuen runs over and does a quick diagnosis. He hums and nods, "Just... Stop moving. Concentrate on staying awake mate. We will fix you..." he looks at Kentar, "He is losing too much blood. Water. Rag... Go! Ill so what i can do..." he says as he takes a bit of his tunic and sutures the bleeding.

Seb finally pulls himself up and lays on his stomach for a few moments, panting hard after a rather long climb on the rock face before he rolls onto his back, closing his eyes...then opening them...then getting close to closing them, looking like he's about to pass out at any moment. Kentar nods and darts off to get the water...rag...and whatever else he thinks is needed before bringing back a bowl of water and some rags.

Aikuen starts to breath weirdly as he slaps the badger in the face, "Keep awake mate. Come on. Start to count mate. Keep awake..." he nods at the stoat returns, "Kentar reach into my pocket and pull out my bandages and sewing kit..." as he goes about cleaning the wound on his head. It is deep.

William waits for orders.

Kentar nods and pulls out the bandages, and then the kit as he opens it, nodding. "Here you go." Seb just blinks as he's slapped in the face. He tries to stay awake, even moving his arm a little bit but after a few moments, he's out like a light

"Well that can't be good," Will comments.

Aikuen grunts a bit and cursed more, "Dammit Dammit Dammit..." the wound is clean and he starts to suture the thing. But blood just pours out like a gusher. He throws the bloody rag at Will, "Here. Help stop it as i sew it. Kentar.... Lord. Try to get him moving again..." This is just too much.

Kentar nods and uhs before grabbing his flask of ice water, which is just cold water now, and pours it over the badger's face. The badger shudders a bit and opens his eyes slowly. "Whats...happening?"

William does as instructed pressing the rag to the badger's temple. "Don't move, Seb. We're patchin' ya up," he says in answer to the badger's question.

Aikuen nods as he hurries the suture, "Come on... Just a little bit... There..." he rubs a paw against the stitches. Which has stopped the bleeding for now. He then looks to the badger, "Will is right. You were losing too much blood for your own good mate." he chuckles a bit and asks, "How you feel mate?"

The badger smiles weakly. "Yeah...w-when I fell...I hit my head on the rocks...pretty hard." he nods slowly as he tries to sit up, only to fall back down. "Everything is spinning." he blinks.
