No Big Deal
Characters: Aikuen, Ella, Venei, William, Amethyst
Location: Moledeep
Moledeep: Mole Hall
Aikuen is in the main hall. Hasn't been out and about much lately. And today, was a lucky day then. For him to be out. He sits in one the armchairs with his two daughters as they bombard him with questions about the tale that Will told them.
"Is... Its trues?" Ella asks, clutching her twin otter doll.
Aikuen says, "Aye! it's true!" At least for the most part. Glad that Will left out some of the more... well... other parts. Maybe later.
Venei holds her 'Otter wife doll', "So yous falls in loves with mums?"
Aikuen says, "Well duh... Fira is the greatest beast ever... Isn't that right? Isn't Mum the best?"
"Yeses! She is!" Venei chuckles.
Aikuen snorts and pokes her in the nose, "Right you are me little rudderkins... And I love her dearly! Just like all of yall!"
All the otters in the room turn their head towards the study at the sound of the thump.
Ella is the first to say something, "What... That?"
Aikuen has an idea, "I give you three guesses"
"Ratties?" Venei pipes up.
Aik snorts, "That was fast... Right you are my little mate"
Ella continues to look toward it, "Wha Happaend?"
Aik shrugs, "Don't know... but I guess it's alright." They are laughing after all.
Well one of them /was/ laughing. From the study Will's voice can be heard: "Aha! I have vanquished the horrible beast what plagues us!"
Amethyst will not be vanquished quietly, "Hey! Let go! This is not how it -mfft." The voices from the study fade out.
All the otters are still watching the study door, "Horrible beast?" Aik tilts his head.
Ella tilts her head as well, "A monster?"
Venei asks, "A horriables monsters?"
Aik shakes his head, "Nah its just probably..." Then he hears Amy, and Aik's ears go back. But he doesn't say anything.
Ella says, "Needs helps?"
Venei asks, "The ratties?"
Aik shakes his head.
The quiet is broken as Amy's voice drifts in faintly from the study between chuckles, "Am I vanquished yet? I do have other things to do today."
Aikuen chuckles and shakes his head at Amy's words, "The rats are... well... I guess they are playing a game..." best he can describe without going into more detail. At least that's what Aik thinks.
Ella turns back to her father, "Game? What type of game?"
Venei asks, "Can we's play?"
Aik eyes go wide, "No!... I mean... They probably don't want you to play..." he chuckles.
The rats are talking much quieter now and only the tones in their voices can be clearly heard outside the study. Going by tone alone it's a safe bet they're arguing about something.
After a few minutes Will comes out of the study and Amy can be heard, even after he closes the door, plinking away at her lute
Ella says, "Why nots?"
Aikuen says, "They just don't... you will understand when you're older."
"You say that alot..." Venei points out.
Aik picks her up and sits her on his neck.
She grabs onto his head so not to fall off.
Aik continues, "I know... But you will know soon enough why!" he chuckles.
Ella frowns, "No fairs..."
"Things aren't fair, you know..." He gets up and sticks his rudder out to Ella.
She giggles and jumps on riding right below the root. Aik chuckles and walks around a bit bouncing. he laughs and then stops when he hears the arguing. He tilts his head and then Will come into the room, "Oi there son. Whats the hapenings?"
"Illies!" Venei waves.
Ella barks a greeting, "Wills!"
William smiles and shrugs, "She's making up a song or something and doesn't want me in there for some reason. I asked why, but she's not saying. ... and I know what'll happen if I keep asking. .... Sooo I'll leave her alone for a while." Will waves back at Venei then pats Ella's head, "So what are th rest of the Tazans doing today?"
Aikuen snorts at Will as he starts to bounce around again. Nothing to worry about then, "That all? I was starting to worry something was amiss!" he laughs.
Ella barks at Will and nips playfully at him, before giggling.
Aik grins and says, "Well! We are all in here... just... bouncing around!" he makes a particular high jump, and both little ones 'whoh', "And me lovely darling is off somewhere with Garnet!" That covers all of them.
William smirks, "So I see." He shakes his head at the trio of otters then cocks his head at Aik, "What made you think something was wrong?"
Aikuen stops and turns on his foot paws quickly, the little ones hold on for dear life, "Well... I heard Arguing... and Arguing... is usually bad. So... There yah go..." he nods once or twice before getting on all fours and 'snooping' around the jungle... I mean... chairs and table.
William tries to look innocent, "We weren't /really/ arguing. Not /exactly/. I just wanted to know why she didn't want me in there and she didn't want to tell me. And since I didn't wish to be beaten t death, I stopped asking."
Aikuen shakes his head and chuckles, getting as low to the ground as possible, "You were. Don't lie! It happens. But see... If you were just arguing about stuff like that... Those are just little things. Me and Fira have a few of those ourselves. But we usually resolve it by nosing each other till one gives in..." The 'beaten to death' gets an eye. But Aik then shrugs
William shrugs, "Maybe we were but it's not a big deal. Amy isn't Fira. She solves problems her own way." The rat doesn't care to hear what his father's opinions are on Amy's ways naturally and so with a quick wave to the otters he heads off toward the entrance calling over his shoulder, "I'll be out at th kiln for a while if anybest needs me."
Aikuen gets up and wretches the chair from Ella's paws, "Let go of that you old grip-y thing..." he grumbles and just generally walks around again, "I know it wasn't a big deal! I didn't say it was a big deal..." he hrms, "It's perfectly normal... don't have to hide it...And... see yah?" he watches the rat leave in a hurry.
Venei asks, "Where he off ta?"
Aikuen says,"The Kiln... Going to either blow off steam or... something..."
Venei asks, "Whies?"
Aik shrugs and knows why, but keeps quiet. "Nothing... Just nothing... Hey!" he chuckles, changing the subject, "How about we go sneak up on mums?" Both otters bounce up and down, "Yeses!" then they both put a paw over their mouths, stifling giggles as Aik sneaks into the Sleeping hall.
