RW Abbey: Entry

You stand on a grassy sward between two cottages. To the south you see a small, calm pond. To the north lies an open space where the Abbey has its feasts in the warmer seasons. To the east is the Great Hall, a massive structure that rises far above the abbey walls and is completed with large towers that pierce upwards into the sky. The main building is completed with a large, iron banded door that would allow one into the Great Hall.

[It's springtime!!]

Mice: Emyuil, male. DoraRose, female.

Badgers: Zinnia, female.

Random spoofed bandity peoples.

Emyuil hasn't seen DoraRose all day and he's looking for her now by the entry. He figures she's bound to be through here at some point--it's lovely weather for a walk. He's sitting on the stairs by the ramparts, hunched over, watching the near-cloudless sky.

DoraRose is 100 percent oblivious to the nice weather. Storming from the direction of the Training Yard, she hefts her axe, Nightsong. Her sword is strapped to her back, over her black cloak. Clothed in her black tunic, black boots, and black leggings, she looks like a cloud of pure rage as she marches right past her brother, not even aware of his presence. LilyMoore is following her, carrying the haversack. "Momma, please, take me with you!" The Warrior ignores her tears as she gently takes the haversack from her, although from her clenched jaw and fiery eyes, she looks like she's ready to kill somebody.

Emyuil immediately can tell what's up. He sprints off to the Training Yard, grabs Nevermore, and stops at his sister's side. "Where and who?" he demands, the words falling like stones into an abyss from his lips.

Zinnia walks, or sort of walk stumbles almost from the open ground. She woke up all dizzy and groggily and instead of waiting to be fully alert like a normal beast she got up right away and went into the open ground area and towards the entry. "...Where....ooooh" She gives up and sits, paw on the side of her head.

It's Lily who answers her Uncle, tears pouring down her face as she sobs out, "Caleb! H...he's b...been kid...kidnapped b...by Z...z...Zurrgg!!" Rose gives her brother a cold stare, then gently pushes her daughter to the ground. "You may not come with me, Lily," she says softly as the maid sits in the dirt, bawling her little heart out. Dora looks at the badger as she goes to lift the bar off the Main Gate. "I don't know where Zee is, but he had better hurry and get to Zurrgg if he wants a share in the fight. The fat cat is MINE."

Emyuil walks over to Lily, goes to give her a hug, but his eyes are fierce, cold and dead. "We'll get Caleb back. I swear it on my blood. And Zurrgg will die." He turns to DoraRose. "Sister...if you want him in one piece you'll have to get there before I cut him apart bit by bit." He finds himself falling into his old ways, into habits he hasn't displayed in a while. He is remembering the hunt, the chase...the kill. And he's ready for it.

Zinnia frowns, "Zurrgg has...has Xander also and Uncle Zee went to look for him, I know he did"

DoraRose stops. She just stops. Her knuckles turn white as her paw tightens on her axe shaft/ Turning, she walks over to the badger, goes to rest her paw on her shoulder. "I will bring Xander back," she whispers, one mother to another. "I promise. Or I will die trying. No parent should have to mourn their child." She then goes to give her hug. Next, she leads the still-sobbing Lily over to the Recorder. "Do me a favour and keep her here; I.....I can't stand having to worry about both of my children." She manages to avoid LilyMoore's feeble grasping at her as she turns and stares at her brother, eyes cold and hard. "Awesome. Let's go catch us a wildcat, hmm?" She goes back to unbarring the gate. The guard who is there knows better that to try and stop either of the Warriors. "Er, ah, I'll make sure to tell the Abbot an' the Champ'on where you 2 went," he manages to tell them. Rose ignores him.

In turn, Emyuil ignores the guard as well. "Let's hunt." His paws shake from fury as he grips the hilt of his dark blade. His black eyes are just as empty and cold as those of his sister. But inside the dead void, there's a spark of hatred, and fury. A conflagration waiting to be unleashed on anybeast in his way.

Zinnia listens and frowns "So...you want me to keep an eye on Lilymoore for you? How long will you be out?"

DoraRose gives the Recorder and Lily one last glance. "Until I have our children back." And then she leaves the Abbey. Lily tries to jump up and follow her out...

Emyuil heads out, his blood boiling, ready to rip off somebeast's face.

Dirt Road

Mossflower - Dirt Road -------------------------

All around, the scent of the forest fills the air. Trees gathering

thickly on either side of the road offer a shaded escape from the dusty

road, and the sunlight's golden glow.

Stray acorns are scattered across the path, presumably from the

forest. The warm summer breezes rustle the leaves of the forest trees,

causing an uneasy whispering. Countless beasts' pawprints cover the sandy

ground. A rough path leads through the dense forest. Near the edge of

the trees, a stump, covered with countless initials, offers a resting

place.

It's been a little while since the brother and sister pair left the Abbey, and Rose has been silent the entire time. Finally, she stops and sets her axe down. Waving a paw at her face, she removes the haversack from her back and strips off her cloak. "....It's getting way hotter than I was expecting..." rolling up the cloak, she stuffs it in her sack, which has food and a couple of canteens in it, as well as her diary; she refuses to go anywhere without it.

Emyuil pulls his weathered cloak off as well. He's calmed down a bit, but is still ready to flare up again at a moment's notice. He rolls up his cloak too and puts it in the haversack. "Where d'we go from here?" he murmurs.

Of course he'd have to ask that. Biting her lip, Dora reshoulders the haversack and lifts her axe again. "Um.....I was never good at the whole strategy thing. That was our older brothers. Of course they were farmers," she grumbles. Suddenly, screams can be heard just to the East of the road. Grabbing her brother's arm, the Warrior goes to stealthily sneak that way, through the forest....

Emyuil allows himself to be pulled off the road by his sister, drawing his sword carefully with his free paw. He licks his suddenly dry lips, the tension building in the air. He drifts carefully from tree to tree once he's past the treeline, like a shadow.

In a clearing, a group of bandits can be seen, terrorizing an innocent family of otters, mostly very young and very old. Grandparents and grandkids. "Please, we were just on our way to Camp Willow--" (not knowing that the holt has been wrecked by invading varmints) cries the old male, who is bent over from age. He is cut off by the bandit leader a hulking male fox, cutting him brutally down with his sword. As the aged one falls, bleeding and entering Dark Forest gates, the leader howls, "I don't /care/ where ye were abound!! Ye're our slavesh now!!" The other bandit-cum-slavers, about 15, roar with approval and close in on the screaming, crying, whimpering otter Dibbuns and elderly otters. DoraRose drops her haversack to the ground and swings her axe. /1, 2, 3, come with me,/ she seems to say. She's so ready to beat up some bad dudes....

Emyuil's knuckles go white on the grip of his sword. His eyes flash. /Ready,/ he mouths. He stalks as close as he can get before exposing himself. The fox is clearly his target.

Narrowing her eyes, Dora nods and mouths, /CHARGE./ She then proceeds to do so. Silent, she rushes into the small glade and manages to kill 3 of the vermin before they know what hit them. As they start reacting, she lets out a full throated roar: "REEEEEDWAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL!!!!" These vermin may outnumber the mice, but they clearly (CLEARLY) aren't even half as skilled as they are. The otter granmum, seeing that help has arrived like angels of death, picks up a rolling pin and starts whaking at the vermin closest to her. The oldest of the grandkids, a male about 6 seasons old, grabs a small shovel and, roaring, attackes the closest vermin, who is dead within surprisingly short order.

Emyuil bellows out, "TUSCANI! DEATH COMES ON A BLACK BLADE!" He slams into the nearest vermin and runs him through, rips his sword out, and parries a cutlass swing at his side, pivots, and slashes open this second beast's throat. Blood gushes out and sprays his tunic; he whirls to face the leader but two bandits block his path; one falls, the other is ripped apart through the torso and left to die. A rare noise reaches DoraRose's ears. Emyuil is laughing. Maniacally, spitefully. He ducks under a spear thrust and guts its wielder, falling into the dance of slaughter. At the edge of the fight, a rat flees, shouting, "Boss! It's the Half-Rat, we'z done for!." "Yes, you are," Emyuil agrees in a reasonable voice as he calmly severs the wrist arteries of a stoat, then kicks him in the fork of the leg cruelly, sending him sprawling. It's an impossible massacre.

A little while later......

The vermin-band leader is on the ground, bleeding. Emyuil stands over him, imposing, and ominous. His sword is raised into the sunlight and he prepares to execute the fallen enemy. "You were fools to think you could come within the forests where the Half-Rat walks and not recieve retribution," he says simply. "Now die."

Dora is having trouble. She went into the Bloodwrath during this little thing, so she is now tired beyond belief. On top of all of that, her axe got stuck in a weasel's armour. Tug. Tug tug. Sigh.... She leans on her axe, thoroughly exhausted. The otters are all fine; Granny is even walking around, whacking the dead bodies with her rolling pin for good measure. The oldest of the young ones, the brave male with the shovel, picks up the Warrior's bastard sword and starts to clean it for her. The next oldest, a petite female no more than 4 seasons, has gathered the shocked Dibbuns back to their wagon, and now she is trying to lift the body of her grandfather onto the wagon bed. All the vermin are dead, except for the 3 who fled when they figured out who Emyuil is. Rose closes her eyes. She needs to get her axe free, but all she feels like just going to sleep.

Granny, meanwhile, comes up to the fallen leader and starts whacking him on the head while Emyuil is still talking. "Ye ornery little varmint!! Death's too good for ye; lemme at 'im, ya little whippershanpper!!" They breed 'em fierce where she's from. The leader fox tries to cover his face in a vain attempt to protect himself from the rolling pin.

The red mist is slowly fading from Emyuil's eyes. His fur is matted and covered in blood; like DoraRose, he's suddenly incredibly tired. "Do with him what you will," he says, surprising himself. He wipes his sword on some grass and sheathes it. "Well. We killed something, at least," he mutters to his sister. "All of you go south and seek out Redwall Abbey; it's not far. There's a safe haven there, and it's closer than Camp Willow." He steps over to the slain grandfather and helps the young female otter pick up the body. "He died bravely," he whispers to the otter lass. "He stood up for those he needed to protect, and was willing to pay the ultimate price." To DoraRose, he says, "Come, sister, we have unfinished business further in the woods..." He speaks, of course, of a certain wildcat.

The otters do this pack up their few belongings, and the 8-season-old gives Emyuil a teary-eyes thanks. Granny leads her oldest grandson in tying up the fox, and as they head South to Redwall, DoraRose sheathes her sword and grabs her haversack. She then leads her brother deeper into the woodlands, hoping that they'll be able to rescue the children....before it is too late.

Thanks for reading!

Will they be able to rescue Xander and Caleb in time?

Will Zee help them first??

Or is everything lost already....?
