Salamandastron: Dining Chamber

  • -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Salamandastron *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

This is the dining chamber for the mountain of Salamandastron. It is a

veritable cavern, the necessity of feeding so many hares making the room

so big. Dominating the room is a huge banquet table made of solid oak.

Nobeast knows how such a venerable object came to be here, but its

presence is undeniable. Smaller tables skirt the outside of the room,

each sitting near a large torch burning brightly in its sconce. The chair

at the head of the table is different from the plain maple chairs that

occupy the rest of the room - it belongs to the Badger Lord. The massive

object is graced with a carving of the very mountain it is in, with the

sun setting over the sea.

Hares: Kate, female. Celina, female. Felicity 'Lissie', female. Finn, male. Terrence, male.

Seagulls: Seaweed, male.

Celina is sitting at one of the tables eating lunch, she was a little odd, or least some thought so, as she never did eat too much at one time and today its just a bowl of soup and some bread with butter, and some juice to drink.

The little hare is not the only one beasts thought to be odd...

Entering the chamber Kate pauses to take in the scene. The dining chamber isn't too busy, but busy enough too cause the portly hare some discomfort. She grimaces at the number of beasts here wishing she had her thick over coat to hide under. "Ok Kate, you can do this. In and out. Just grab some grub and get out before the locals find you here wot? Why am I talking to myself? And out loud even. I mean that isn't weird at all..."

"Indeed." replies another hare as he brushes by Kate. Giving a deep sigh the heavy set hare trots into the dining chamber.

And then comes Felicity! She stumps in on her crutch behind the chubby hare and looks around, her right foot up in the air so she doesn't put any weight on it. She sighs, then hobbles over to get in line for the chow. She growls a little at some of the male hares in here who offer to help her. She can do it with one paw, right? She seems to think so....until she starts fumbling with a bowl of soup. Perhaps this wasn't the best plan she's ever had....

Celina looks over at Felicity and frowns, she doesn't know the hare, then she doesn't really know many here as she managed to keep to her self or see her one friend, mainly on the beach or in the gardens.

Kate doesn't noticed Celina at first, but she notices the wounded hare behind her, looks Felicity over then turns back to filling up her plate with as much lettuce, fruit, and carrots as one can pile onto a simple plate. They say that eating veggies is good for losing weight...

The doe then turns to make a hasty escape, gasping when she sees a set of bucks enter the dining chamber. "Poo on a stick. /he's/ here..." The hare quickly finds the first available seat, which is right across from Celina, "Quick, act like we know each other. Act natural and act like we are talking!" She says to the young hare.

Felicity has somehow managed to get all of her food and is balancing it on a tray. Soup, salad, bread, cake, a hunk of cheese, and a tall glass of tea. Hobbling over, she sits in the next open seat, right next to the chubby hare. It's only open because the hare who had been sitting there got up for seconds. She sets the tray down and catches her glass, sloshing tea all over the table. "Curses." She sits down and stares at the spilled drink. She is seriously debating about not cleaning it up.

Celina frowns as other hares sit next to her and sighs, "Is this wot I will deal with everyday once I join...if my parents will even let me join"

"Welcome to the circus love." Kate leans backward, scanning the horizon for the dreaded /him/. /He/ seems to have vanished in the crowd. Good, see really didn't have the patience to deal with... The hare pauses, thought derailed as tea is poured into her lap. With a sigh the hare narrows her eyes, "Some days it just don't pay to get out of bed." Kate stands up surveying the damage done to her trousers and tunic. "Don't worry, it needed a wash anyway...never mind that I just had it cleaned yesterday..."

Finn is already sitting at the table! He's been far too distracted by tuck to be social 'til now. He glances up, though, when the glass spills. Eesh. He winces slightly. "Bad luck," he says, sympathetically.

Felicity gasps as she sees that Kate got got by the flying tea. "Oh, I am so, so, so, so, sososososo sorry! 'Ere, let me 'elp. 'Twas my fault! I am so sorry!" She grabs her crutch and tries to stand, then whacks her bandaged right foot on something. She gives an involuntary cry and sits back down again, tears forming in her eyes from the pain.

Celina shakes her head, she blinks as Felicity starts crying and frowns, she takes a long sip of juice and tries to just...well be calm.

Unfortunately that something happened to be Kate's fleshy middle. "No need to exert yourself, honestly I can GAK!" The beast gasps as she is sent flailing towards the buck hare, hitting her own salad with her paw and sending it flying along with her fork towards Celina.

Felicity goes to grab the chubby hare's paw, but misses completely because she's still fighting back tears of agony. "Ohmyheavensareyoualright????" She makes sure to keep her injured foot underneath her chair and out of the way.

Celina looks up in time to see the fork and gasps, the fork lands right in her soup and splashes it all, the hare gets up and frowns. She looks at Kate and folds her arms over her chest "You tried to stab me with a fork!!"

Kate falls just a hair shy of the Finn. She get's up after a moment of effort. "I'm fine, I'm fine..." Then gasps at the accusation. "Wot? Why would I try n' stab you, gel? It's not like I'm trying to eat you! Least not with out pepper..." Kate stands to brush herself down.

Oh, for sanity's sake! Lissie turns to the younger hare and says soothingly, "It was an accident, love, she didn't mean for it to go flyin' towards you. Honest." Glancing at the chubby hare, the injured Runner says, "That was not a helpful statement...."

Celina snorts "Sure....." She is interrupted from saying anything else when a black and white blurr goes past her and she gasps, the blurr hides under the table and the couple older hares following it peek in, look around and keep going as the haremaid looks under the table, "Seaweed?" A loud "KARRRR" is heard, it's a ...dibbun seagull.

Kate gasps as she steps backward in shock. Who in the blazes let a seagull in here? She would be inclined to say if she didn't trip over her seat and fall backward towards the hard stone floor. She begins to let out some choice words not fit for probably the soldiers around her let alone the dibbun seagull when a pair of paws go to catch the hare.

"Whoa! Easy there Kate. You ok?"
Kate turns to thank the beast, but words escape her. It's /him/. /him/ being a short, scruffy grey hare with a normal soldiers tunic hanging like a tent off of his skinny frame. Blast it all...

Felicity peeks under the table and smiles at the baby seagull. "'Ello, there. I suggest that you 'ide under there for now and don't make any noise." She looks up at the chubby hare just as she falls, then just gapes at whatever just happened here.

Celina frowns and glares at the seagull "Seaweed...why you in here?" The seagull answers "Peg waters boring...come see mama" Yep the sea gull thinks she is mama, well that can be explained later maybe.

"Is that a seagull, I say." The buck hare who has yet to be named, comments.

"I do believe so." Kate nods her head. Blast blast blast blast. He was going to ask her the question, wasn't he. Hey kate? How you doing? Are you still having...problems?
"So...doing well?"
"Yeap." Kate answers quickly.
"And...the...uh..."
"Better." The hare says quickly again, "Taking some new herbs in my tea. Got them down to a weekly basis...so that's good. Had to give up alcohol to do it but..." There is an awkward silence that follows. Both hares staring at the floor, the seagull, the other beasts. Really anything but each other. "We...we should probably do something about that seagull." The buck replies.
"Nah, they have it under control. Plus I...need to get back, to my duties ." Kate begins to pull away, leaving her food uneaten.

"So, ol' chaps," A hare says as he enters, "What exactly was that noise? Some beast try to take the break to actually get a wink of sleep, y'know..." He trails off when he notices what is going on. At least, what he /thinks/ is going on. "Oh, erm. Right then." Terrence blinks a few times, standing in the doorway.

The seagull dibbun, Seaweed, looks at all the hares looking at him and tries to flatten himself to the floor, and closes his eyes, yep now they can't see him...right?

Felicity decides that she's been involved in enough havoc, and so stands, leaning heavily on her crutch to keep all weight off of her right foot. "I'll.....eat at the desk in the Armoury." and she hobbles out.

Celina sighs and watches Seaweed and frowns "Your gonna get me into sooooo much trouble Seaweed"

Terrence blinks, again, realizing most of the hares who were in ~charge~ had left the room. "So...." he says, stepping towards the table, "Is there really a bloody seagull in here?"

Celina frowns and looks around "Umm...nooo" Then Seaweed appears and goes to be by his friend or as he calls her..."Mama...Lord Ciocan no like if say me no here..." And the haremaid sighs and glares at the bird, whom hides back under the table and closes his eyes, hey he is a dibbun if thinks if he can't see anyone , they can't see him.

"Right." Terrence states, unconvinced. "No seagull. None at all..." he mutters, afterwards, "And I'm totally a blinkin' badger..."

Celina frowns, she glances at the seagull and sighs as she sits down on a chair, "Look...I...I don't want in trouble. He...sort of known him for past 5 seasons, found him as an egg"

Terrence eyebrows raise. "Really? Five seasons? He's rather old now, isn't he? Surely he can fly, eh?"

Celina folds her arms over her chest "Wot flying got to do with it? Huh...??"

Terrence asks, "Er, set him free, maybe? Let him live on his own, wot? If he has know you for five seasons, surely he will come back to see you every so often? The beach isn't an odd place for a gull if you're afraid of trouble, you know. "

Celina frowns "He...does go outside sometimes, but he sneaks back into here. Maybe he is scared of something, ever think of that?"

Terrence shrugs. "Well, you could explain to him exactly what goes into cooking a stew." He pauses, rethink what he just said. "Er...Ahem"

Celina gasps and screams loudly, and now all those in the room stare at her, she scoops up the seagull as tears go down her face "How...DARE YOU!!!" She then flees from the room and flees to her room and stays there. Seaweed blinks as he is carried away and looks confused..."Wot...s...s...stew?"

Terrence raises his paws. "Er, I didn't /really mean it, chap....Oh, she left..." He stands there in the now-nearly empty room looking around. "Well," he says to himself, "Might as well get what's left of the food, eh, wot wot?"
