The otters have taken over the hall! Mahaha! Well. Sort of. The big family of otters have moved some of the chairs from the table and moved them closer to the hearth. Then they draped a large tablecloth over it. Creating for themselves a nice tent for them to play in. Too big for the adults. But big enough for the tall otter babes. Giggling can be heard within the tent and even the sounds of some ruff housing. Just good otter fun. Fira smiles at the tent as she puts her paw around Aiks waist. Going to flop against him. Aik grins and puts his arm around her as well, kissing the top of her head. Fira smirks as she pats his leg, nuzzling, then going to rest her head against his chest. The tent wobbles as one of the otters rolls and his the chair underneath.
May had been out foraging in the woods, wading through snow drifts in a westwardly fashion. The small mouse had been about to turn back when she spied what she thought might be a hollow in the side of a hill. upon closer inspection she found it to be a red wooden door. She rapped on the door very lightly to see if any beast was at home, jumping to one side incase the owner was of a verminous persuasion.
Aikuen rests his head against Fira going to rub her leg. Fira just smirks, going to nuzzle his cheek in retaliation. The little otters continue to ruff house, and therefore covering the up the sound of the almost inaudible knock. With their bumping, snarling, and giggling.
As there's no response to her knock the little mouse tries to door knob and finds it yeilds readily to her. May very quietly slipped into the warm tunnel as soon as the door was open enough to let her do so. Once she is in she slowly closes the door behind her and looks around.
May walks down the entrance tunnel slowly looking at the cloaks and things hanging by the door. Still not knowing what beast or beasts may live here the mouse keeps an eye out for trouble. But the warmth from farther down the tunnel is too inviting and she wanders into a large room it reminder her a little of the Great Hall at Redwall but the only beasts here seem to be some otters. The mouse dibbun presses herself against the wall near the entrance just watching the tent and the big otters, very big otters.
All the otters are still very unaware to the intruder. They still cant see her. Well, correctly anyways. The little twins have quieted down and they talk within the little tent, Ella starts, "Where dids daddies and mommies goes?" "You is a sillies... da is still out theres" "... probaly kissins..." "Eww... I hates it when they does thats..." You cant see it, but Venei stick her tongue out. Aik snorts at the tent before going to explain it to Fira. She smirks and kisses him. Aik snorts again.
May stares right back at Aikuen. "Hello," she says and as if to explain herself she adds, "It's warm in here and it's snowing again outside." The mouse still hasn't moved any since she'd came in.
Aikuen blinks as the darkness is now talking to him, "Hello?" he is kinda used to beasts coming in and such. But they usually show themselves at least. Aik kisses Fira and mouths something before getting up and going in between the table and the entryway. Still unable to fully see the beast, "If its cold outside, you are more than welcome to come in and warm yourself. The name is Aikuen. Im the elder here. Could you please come into the light... What's your name?" Fira nods at Aik and goes to sit on the ground, pulling the little ones from the tent. But strangely they are quiet. Like they know.
May scoots herself along the wall closer toward the fire so she's can be better seen in it's light. She keeps an eye on the entrance just in case as she moves farther and farther away from it. In the fire's glow the mouse can be seen to be wearing a large ill fitting green habit. Tied over one shoulder is what can be assumed is a quiver from the crude arrows peeking out of it. Around her other should hangs a large battered bow. A dirty bit of ribbon is tied loosely around the dibbun's right ear and her habit is wet from the waist down from traveling through the snow
The mouse lays her bow against the wall beside herself. They didn't say anything about her quiver yet so she's keeping it on. "I ... I'm ... I'm mouse. ..... The white fox, he knows me, he calls me May. He's nice."
Aikuen reaches for his sword, putting his paw on it, and he points with his other, "Don't reach for that bow May. Please. Yes. I know you. Back when you lived at the abbey. I knew your father and mother... and Timothy as well... And i didn't mean by anything what i said... Its just. You looks so different, from the last i met you. You were just a little one... And your... you..." he smiles a bit. Fira had put her ears back when she goes for the bow.
Aikuen takes a deep breath and removes his paw from the hilt going to cross his arms. He is assuming something must have happen to the mouse. Something bad. But. Leave that up later, if it ever comes up. Don't want to startle her anymore than she already is, "I mean when you Did... Umm..." another path, "I mean... my mistake..." he looks behind him, "This is my Wife. And out two daughters." Aik then mouths something to his wife. Fira ohs and nods, going to bow her head slightly in greeting.
"The fox said I used to live at the abbey but I don't remember living there. .... I don't remember a lot of things. ..." She waves a little at the twins and Fira.
Aikuen nods a little bit, "You did live there. But that must have been a long while ago." he motions for Fira to go and sit back down in the chair. And she does so, keeping her eye on the mouse. Aik continues, "You might have had something happen to you... To make you lose your memory... We all know you. Except for our daughters of course..." Ella and Venei both look at the mouse, seeming confused. Aik moves from where he was standing to near the chair where his wife is, "What are some of the things you remember..." he shakes his head, "Are you hungry?"
May points to her bow, "I know how to use that though I don't remember how I know how. I just do. ... First thing I remember is waking up and my head hurt. That was there," again she motions toward the bow, "I made these," she points now at her quiver. She's not going to pick up the bow til she leaves, not with that otter watching her.
Aikuen is glad that she isn't going for the bow. Even though he knows her. He has to do, what he has to do. To protect his family, "Ah i see... Oh that must be Juli-... Umm... nevermind... Well very good for you for making the arrows. Have to protect yourself you know. Please relax. Were just an otter family just trying to stay warm as well as you. Happy to share our warmth..." he sits next to his wife to keep up the appearance of the otter family.
May leaves her bow where it is and goes to sit near the fire in one of the big arm chairs, quiver and all.
Aikuen watches her sit down and he smiles, "There yah go... Now don't mind us... But if you want anything you can ask either me or Fira... We will be more than happy to help you. With food... or anything you need..." he nods a few more times. Fira puts the otters back on the ground who rush back into the tent. Fira still watches the mouse. And with her around she cant really be soppy. So she flops against Aik, resting her head against his shoulder. Aik places his head on hers, "So... Where you been?"
William enters Mole Hall having been outside most of the day both walking about the woods and doing Aikuen's chores for him as he'd agreed to do til winter ended. While he didn't enjoy the extra chores he didn't mind being outside like the old otter did. The rat hardly glances at the mouse having watched her go in from one of the gardens. "Chores are done," he announces scruffing each of his sister on the head.
May shrugs a little, "I live near the abbey .... in ... in the grass." She ducks down in her chair when the new beast comes in. "You said just otters here," she calls over to Aikuen quietly.
Aikuen looks over to Will when he comes in, "Righto Will! Come on in and meet someone..." His head then goes back to May, "Er... What? Did I say that?..." he said it to make it easier for her, "Well... we also have a few rats... He is good, don't worry..." he seems okay with it.
May glares at the rat as she watches him closely. Who knows what else the otter might not have told her.
William nods, "I saw her already when she was outside. I'd heard they'd left th abbey nobeast knew why or where'd they'd gone to. It wasn't too long after the fox got put in th bell tower." He glances back at the mouse, "You can stop that now. I'm not going to do anything to you. Sides you're not that good at copying Rose yet. ... never worked on me that well anyway."
Aikuen blinks over at Will and then back to the mouse, "Oh you did... Hrm... How strange..." Not really good to discuss it in front of the beast herself, "Its okay May. He is alright. He is my son. So... I wasn't really lying when i said it was just otters... He is just a rat as well!" he grins like a goof.
May very quietly and slowly slides herself off her chair and onto the floor from there she makes a mad dash for the kitchen. She is hungry after all.
William says, "That was odd. ... You think she's /still/ mad at me for kicking at her last time I saw her at th abbey when she was being a pain?"
Aikuen sighs and puts his arm back around Fira, "I don't think she even fully knows show she was. I think she lost her memory. She was scared because you are a well... a vermin. She is afraid of you... I don't think she remembers anything at the abbey. So you are a clear on that for now..." he chuckles and shakes his head.
William asks, "Should we have let her go into the kitchens with pointy sticks when it's likely Garnet's in there?"
Aikuen scratches his head, "Oh yeah... the arrows... OH the arrows!" he ergs and he gets up, "Ill get on that. Will, could you please take the bow and lock it in the trunk in the burrow? Ill make sure she doesn't do any harm to the stoat in fear..." he kisses Fira on top of the head before running into the kitchen, to make sure nothing bad was happening.
