Buying a new honeypot
Ferravale marketplace
Rorgan the otter. Blisa the cat and Ferdinand the ferret.
The marketplace of Ferravale is usually bustling with activity on any given day, given the size of the village and its population. However, voices are not ringing out loudly and laughter is not filling the streets. Most are simply walking towards their destinations silently, or with a partner. Rorgan doesn't quite seem to notice this as he walks down the steps of the blacksmith shop, proudly strapping his new scabbard to his belt along with his other two. Even though it seems slightly out of place, given that two of the scabbards are identical, he still looks quite comfortable with the odd-out, hanging his scabbard on his belt. Looking around as he descends the stairs, he stands there; trying to figure out what to do next.
Blisa is walking down the street, her bodyguard beside her. They look curiously around at the other shoppers, wondering why they're so sedated. The kitten basically bumps into the otter, and she gasps and looks up at him. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you!"
Rorgan would never actually admit it, but the kitten had slightly startled him. Lost in his own thoughts, he had forgotten to pay attention to his surroundings. Cursing himself inwardly, he forces a smile at the kitten. "Oh no, it's quite alright! I should've been payin' more attention anyway."
Ferdinand smiles slightly as Blisa relaxes a little. "Well, then, I guess it's both of our faults. I'm Blisa. May I ask what your name is?"
Rorgan crouches down next to Blisa, keeping a friendly smile on his face. "Well me name is Rorgan. Please t' meet ye!" He says, though not too loud as he has no idea what would startle the dibbun.
Blisa is about five seasons old, but is about a head shorter than most Dibbuns her age. She smiles, her green eyes twinkling slightly. "Nice to meet you, too, I'm sure." She replies, nodding politely. Ferdinand watches the crowd nervously, wonderign why they're all so quiet.
Rorgan chuckles at the nice little kitten. Looking up at Ferdinand, he remarks, "Oy, is somethin' wrong?"
Ferdinand jumps slightly and turns back to the otter. "Why ith everybeatht tho quiet right now? They're uthually tho talkative..." Blisa nods in agreement. "Yeah, it's kind of creepy."
Rorgan frowns, looking around at the rest of the village as he just now notices the silence himself. "Yore right...this place is usually much louder..mayhaps it's just a slow day?"
Blisa shrugs, then smiles up at the adult. "We were just on our way to the potter's shop. Wanna go along with us?"
Rorgan raises an eyebrow. "With somebeast ye don't know?" He asks.
Blisa walks on down the street, cheerily calling over her shoulder, "Ferdinand's a skilled fencer, so I figure if you start causing problems, while he's attacking you with his sabre, I can stab you in the foot with my dirk and knife." Ferdinand flushes slightly, but the smiles and follows his little charge.
Rorgan again raises an eyebrow. This one was certainly an interesting one. He shrugs: no use in thinking about it. Standing back up, he walks off after the pair. "Wot exactly are ye goin' t' the potter's for?" he asks.
Blisa skips a little. "I'm wanting to buy a new honey pot. The one we have at home has a broken handle." Ferdinand nods and wrinkles his nose, indicating that it was very messy when it broke.
Rorgan feigns a look of despair. "Oh no!! That can't be good!" He exclaims.
Blisa glances at the otter hotly. "Sarcasm isn't necessary. And it was disgusting. And I got a tiny pottery sliver in my finger. It hurt for three days afterwards."
Rorgan holds his paws up, though still chuckling. "That does sound rather unpleasant." He says.
Blisa nods. "It hurt. Alot. Here we are!" The two younger beasts enter the pottery shop and start looking for a suitable pot to store honey in.
Rorgan enters with the two and looks around, not quite paying attention. Pots aren't really his...thing.. "Did ye find somethin' ye like?" He asks.
Just then Blisa squeals with delight as she finds a startlingly beautiful blue, red, and golden yellow pot with butterflies painted on it. As she's jumping up and down excitedly her bodyguard nods, smiling and picking up the exquisite pot. He pays for it, and soon the kitten is carrying the carefully wrapped honeypot.
Rorgan chuckles as he watches the kitten and her bodyguard. "Well, it seems yore quite happy with that, eh?"
Blisa nods excitedly, hugging the pot close to her chest. Ferdinand nods happily. "It will work beautifully," he responds, carefully choosing his words so as to try and hide his lisp.
Rorgan smiles and pats the ferret on the shoulder gently. "Well that's great t' hear. Anyway, I've got t' head out. Explorin's callin' me name!"
Ferdinand nods and smiles, then holds out his paw. "Good to meet you. Hope to thee you again thoon." Blisa nods and holds out her paw, too. "Yes, I hope we can get to know each-other better."
Rorgan nods politely and shakes Ferdinand's paw, then crouching to shake Blisa's. "I'm sure we will," He says as he stands back up, walking towards the door; waving. "Farewell mates!" He says, finally walking out the door.
