Auntie Amy Stoatsitter
Characters: Chris, Amethyst
Location: Moledeep
Moledeep: Gardens and Orchards
Chris has been out the whole day in the gardens, doing different drawings with some of the supplies Kluner gave him a lend of. He's been drawing so many different things today. Trees, stoats, rocks, pictures of himself and the rest of his family. But they're pretty much just stick figures. No where near as good as anything his brother can do but its been keeping him busy.
Amethyst has been watching the little stoat and enjoying the change in weather. He's been fairly quiet today and his aunt is enjoying the peace.
Chris gets a little bit bored now with this drawing, so when he's done this picture, the stoat drops the charcoal and sits up. He looks about and then smiles at Amy. Slowly, he stands and goes over, tugging on her sleeve lightly. "Auntie Amy." he asks. "You want to play a game?" he asks.
"Hmm?" Amy reaches over to ruffle the stoat's headfur, "What sort of game?"
Chris smiles a bit and then fixes his fur once Amy's done. "Uh..." he hrms a bit. "What sort of games...can you play?" he asks.
Amethyst twirls her staff back and forth in her paw as if thinking about it. "Most kinds. What were you think of?"
Christopher hrms a little bit and tilts his head. "Uhm...hide and seek?" he asks, not sure if she could play that one.
Amethyst says, "We could do that. But we'll need some rules first. We can't stomp all over the vegetable garden or we wont have any food. Can you think of any other rules we might need for this game?"
Chris thinks for a few moments of something to add to the rules but he can't think of anything. So he shakes his head. "No." he replies.
Amethyst nods "Alright then if we should go to one of the other gardens to play so we don't stomp on the vegetables. Oh, and if we use the dibbuns garden the pond can't count as a hiding place. I know you can swim well but it would be too easy to drown in this game."
Chris nods and then hrms. "Promise! Dibbuns garden, sure!" he smiles. "So...are we going now?" he asks, tilting his head.
"Yes we're going now," Amy says heading off toward the overgrown garden set aside for little ones to run roughshod over, which is only tended enough to keep it from being reclaimed by the surrounding woods.
Moledeep: Dibbun's Garden
Chris smiles and runs off ahead of Amy, getting to the garden first with a loud giggle. He then turns and waits for Amy. "Hurrrry up!" he frowns, folding his arms.
Amethyst can't see the frown but the tone is clear enough. "I didn't know this was a race," she says. "Who's hiding first?"
Chris chuckles and then shakes his head with that same smile. "It wasn't!" he grins before pointing at Amy. "You! You hide first!" he nods.
Amethyst walks over to the tree Aikuen had build a platform in and rests her staff against the its trunk. "Ok but you need to close your eyes and count very slowly to .... a hundred I think it is or as high as you can count whichever's bigger."
The little stoat ohs and nods before closing his eyes tightly and starting to count. "One...uh...two...tree...uh..."
Amethyst waits til after Chris starts counting before feeling around from the rope to the tree's platform. Finding it she begins to pull herself up to the platform to lay still and wait for Chris to come looking for her.
"Five...uh...seven...eight...ten...ready or not, here I come!" Chris grins, looking around. He blinks a little bit at how his aunt just disappeared. He slowly starts to looks around the tree, then peeks at the water, and then frowns. "Hmmmm."
Amethyst is laying flat on her belly on the platform up in the tree being as quiet as she can. If the game goes on too long though she'll break cover.
Chris hrms a bit and checks behind some bushes and then another few trees before looking up to spot the platform. He hrms a little bit and goes over to the rope, starting to climb to the top to see if Amy is up there. He slips a couple of times as he starts to get a little scared of the hight.
Amethyst can hear the stoat below her and then on the rope. She's trapped now as the rope is the only way up or down unless one is a squirrel and Amy most certainly is not a squirrel. Well it was fun while it lasted.
Chris looks down once and lets out a bit of a frightened eep. So, he decides to slowly slide down the rope, getting to the bottom and dropping off it quickly. He kisses the ground once and then hrms, looking up at the platform. "No way Auntie Amy would be up there." he says with a nod.
Amethyst bites back a laugh at the stoat's remark. The eep had worried her but he sounds ok now so all must not have been hurt any.
Chris hrms a bit and takes the smallest little pebble he can find before chucking it up at the platform to see if Amy is up there or not. He tilts his head and waits for something.
Amethyst had raised her head at the eep but laid it back down when she was sure the stoat was alright. The pebble gets a frown as it hits the tree and the rat flatens herself down against the platform even more. Should have made a rule against throwing things.
Chris shrugs a little bit and turns away, starting to wonder where she went. "Where aaaare yooou?" he calls out absently.
Amethyst remains quiet but sits up when she hears him moving again. She feels along a near limb and very carefully plucks off a few twings and shoots.
Chris hrms and starts to walk far away from the tree. He checks a few places then stops as he can't find her anywhere. He turns around and looks up and on his way up, he spots her. "So you were up there!" he calls out with a grin. "Found you!"
It takes Amy a moment to figure out how Chris could see here if he's on the ground but soon she's climbing back down the rope. "Ok your turn," she says once she reaches the ground again.
Chris smiles and then eeps as she starts to climb down. He covers his eyes and cant stand to look but as soon as she's down, he nods. "Okay!" he smiles before thinking. He starts to look around for somewhere to hide.
There's little point in Amy closing her eyes but she does so anyway as that's how the game goes and begins to count, " ... 1 ..... 2 ...... 3 .... 4 ...." all the way to twenty listening carefully to track the stoat's movements.
Chris starts to panic that he hasn't found a hiding place yet. Then it dawns on him. Amy's blind. So, he quietly moves behind her and tries to remain as quiet as he possibly can.
Amethyst's ears twitch back and forth as she walks around listening for the little stoat. Dibbuns his age are prone to giggling when they think they can't be seen she recalls.
Chris clamps his paws down over his muzzle as he fights back the urge to start laughing. The stoat tiptoes along behind the rat, closing his eyes to try and not laugh.
Amethyst muses, "Now where could you be?" She moves away from the tree and in the direction of the pond still listening for the little stoat.
Chris snorts rather loudly as he attempts to keep quiet. He flattens his ears back and stands completely still, unable to contain himself for much longer.
Amethyst turns to go back out to the main garden, "Well you'll come out sooner or later."
Christopher just starts to burst out into laughter, falling over and kicking the ground. "Hahaha! I...hahahaha....a-a-am h-h-here...haha..."
Amethyst smiles, "So that's where you were! I guess you win then. Ready to go in yet? I think it's about time for lunch."
Chris nods and wipes tears from his eyes as he stands up. "Hehe...okay." he nods, reaching to take Amy's paw lightly as he follows her back to the hall.
Amethyst nods taking a firmer hold of the stoat's paw, "Maybe we can have a picnic or something, see if Kluna and the twins want to join us."
