An afternoon in the Tavern!
Ferravale Tavern
With: Blisa, cat (Ferdinand, ferret, spoofed)- Derderin, polecat- Callie, otter- Darkwatcher, fox
The tavern is full todayy! The sun is bright outside, the ground is soft and, in some places, rather muddy. Anybeast drunk from last night stayed in, not wanting to brave the light, and many new creatures have entered for their regular drinks. Derderin ignores the noise as she works behind the counter- oh, wait. She isn't working. She's.... sleeping. There is a slightly rusty colored bandage on her muscled forearm- the left one. She is sitting on astool, leaning on the wall, mouth open. At least she doesn't snore!
Callie is wandering wherever there seems to be other creatures. And there certainly are alot of creatures in the tavern, so that is where she is! She slips in quietly (though it isn't hard) through the front door, not even opening it all the way, and as she shuts it, she leans against it and sighs. Well, what now? She leaves the doorway and walks, wide-eyed, around the edges of the room, trying her best to stick to the wall.
The door does not stay closed for long, however, beacause 2 very commonly-seen creatures here enter through it: Blisa and her ferret guard, Ferdinand. They do not enter quietly; rather, they (mostly Blisa) shove it open with such force it slams against the wall. Ferdinand winces at the sound, but the only reactions they get from patrons are smiles at the kitten's happy, healthy ecstasity. The 2 young creatures (for the ferret is a young adult, not a grown-up) head for the bar, where Blisa scrambles up onto a stool and stares at Derderin, whom she doesn't know. "Um, excuse me?" she says, pauses, then repeats herself in a slightly louder tone. "Excuse me? Ma'am?"
Derderin starts and nearly falls off her chair. Regaining her balance, she sits up and rubs her eyes, mouth still open. Ahhh! THe light! Nooo! She yawns cavernously and scratches her bandage idly. "Hmm?" Her thoughts are raelly jumbled, and she can't really manage anything but a noncommital noise. She shouldn't have been up so late last night. She could probably also have done without that last drink of wine. There is the distinct posiility that she made it too strong... Under her breath, she mumbles. "Ugnnn I need a drink.." She slides off the stool and jarrs her arm. She winces and then realizes that someone wants her. "Oh. Yea?" She leans over the bar.
Callie's trip around the wall has taken her to the bar, and the sight of a polecat with the bandage does nothing to lessen her anxiety. Bandages mean a fight of some sort. And fights are not good. She lingers around an empty stool, watching Blisa and Ferdinand silently. They seem seem nice. Perhaps she should interact with them somehow. She takes a step forward, and then a step back when the polecat leans over the bar. Oh dear.
Blisa smiles politely and extends a little white paw. "Hi. My name's Blisa, and this is Ferdinand. What's your name?" Ferdinand, meanwhile, is looking around, alert and on duty. He catches sight of the otter and gives her a quick, polite nod.
Derderin puts out her right paw and gently takes the white one, shaking it. She grins lopsidedly. "'Ello there Blisa, Ferdinand. I've seen you both 'round b'fore. I'm Derderin. Nice t' meet you. C'n I get ya anythin'?" The little otter by the bar goes unnoticed.
Callie nods back slowly at the ferret. She takes a step out again, but keeps one paw around a leg of the stool. From a pocket she pulls a tiny object and she palms it, making a fist around it. A comfort measure. "H...Hi." She squeaks. Her hazel eyes dart from the ferret to the cat to the polecat.
Blisa smiles brightly. "It's nice to meet you, Derderin. Could we please have some tea and fish and bread and greens? Ferdy has the money." Ferdinand returns Callie's greetoing with his own 'hello', then turns to the polecat. "I will pay." he says simply, smiling.
Darkwatcher walks in with the strip of cloth over his face--No armor, but he's still armed. He scans the room and moves over near the party of beasts already here. " 'ey," he says simply by way of greeting.
Derderin likes the little cat. So she grins and waves off the ferret. "Oh, 'tis nothin'. I'm the brewer- drinks are on me. I c'n't speak for the kitchen staff, 'owever, so jus' pay f'r food, I s'ppose. Don't want them after my blood for anythin'." She winks as she raises a paw in greeting to the fox and calls out. "C'n I get ya anythin', Sir?"
Callie takes another step forward, rubbing the thing in her paw. Ack! Scary fox! Back under the stool she goes, watching the tavern beasts silently again.
Ferdinand smiles a little more, and does as the brewer bids. The sond of Callie scrambling alerts him, and he bends down, mildly concerned. "You alright, Mith?" Blisa, meanwhile, bounces happily. "Thanks, Derderin!" she whips around at the sound of Darkwatcher, and waves to him. "Hi! How are you?"
Darkwatcher nods to Blisa as he says to Derderin, "October Ale if y'got it, ma'am." He moves closer to Blisa, looking mildly amused at Callie's reaction to his presence. He sits down, saying to Blisa, "I'm doing pretty well. Yourself?"
Derderin nods and turns, disappearing into the kitchen. Soon enough someone'll come out with what the group ordered.
Callie squints as the kitten happily greets the fox. Either the fox /isn't/ that scary, or the kitten is scarier than she looks.. She gulps as she realizes shes got the attention of teh ferret. "Yeah! I'm good!" She squeaks again, a little too quickly, eyes still on Darkwatcher.
"It'th alright. Thith fox ith nice...trutht me." Ferdinand smiles and holds out a gentle paw to help the otter rise. Blisa says to the mercenary, "I'm good. And I'm happy!" A waiter comes with the kitten and ferret's tea, and lets them know that thier food is being prepared.
"That's good. I don't remember the last time you were happy, but it was long before I last saw you. By the way, I have a question..." Darkwatcher pulls the cloth off to get a bit fresher air on his face as he speaks.
Callie takes the ferret's paw with her free one and gets up from behind the scant covering of the stool. "Ok.." She draws the 'o' out a bit, debating whether she /should/ actually trust him. No harm in it. Except, you know, a ton of stuff could go wrong. Ah well. Her webbed 'thumb' strokes the little wooden object in her palm.
Ferdinand smiles gently and points to the thing in the otter's paw, quietly asking, "That'th pretty, what ith it?" Blisa looks inoccently up at Darkwatcher. "What is it?"
"Do you know where Shaz is?" Darkwatcher murmurs softly to Blisa. "I thought you might know considering what's been going on lately."
Callie smiles and opens her palm, revealing a little pine-wood otter. It smells nice, and it's soft from Callie rubbing it all the time. The otter figurine looks quite motherly- very kind. "Thanks." After a moment's pause, she says, "I'm Callie. It was nice to meet you. But I kinda hafta to go." She closes her palm again, awves, and heads out.
