some dibbuns!

It was a peaceful autumn day,and rainy so the dibbuns were stuck inside and growing restless by the hour. A couple wandered into the kitchens to look around.

Krisha was close by as she had most of the dibbuns in cavern hole, telling a story about Marten and Rose, but she did notice the two missing and sighs, ok least she knows they didn't go outside.

Xander was in the kitchen as well! He got permission to make some cookies, providing he was careful and if he used too much of something to try and replace it please.He had agreed and already had a dozen sugar cookies, a dozen walnut cookies, 2 dozen maple sugar cookies, a couple dozen oatmeal cookies and he was trying to make sugar cookies with little chocolate dots on it, something special he decided. He also had something on the stove top, he was trying to make candy chestnuts for some other cookies.   

Matilda was around, mainly relaxing in the great hall so she was close by.   

The two dibbuns look at the badger "What ya doing?" They ask as they look at him, and then the pot"Whats that?" They peek inside and back off a little as it starts to smoke some ."Ummms?"   

Krisha is finishing her story and smiles "Ok so..we have a little while till bedtime..."She looks to the kitchens and nods to Sister Ginny to keep an eye on the other s a moment while she goes to check on things.And find two missing dibbuns.   

Xander spins around and quickly gets the chestnuts and chuckles "Ok saved..."He smiles adding them to some sugar cookies and decides to let them melt more in the oven"I am making cookies, maybe Mother Krisha will let you all have some with greensap milk."
   
Krisha looks inside and scans the room "wot is..going on and have what now?"   

The two dibbuns giggle and smile "Cookies..he is making cookies lots a cookies!!"   

Xander waves "Umm..."Yes a LOT of cookies in fact as he has forgotten the last dozen as he speaks "Umm...stress cooking?"   

There is a smell, then skoke and..yeah those chestnut cookies are now dead, he killed them and the smoke gets worse!!!!   

The champion smells the smoke and hurries into the kitchen"What is on fire! What happen?!" She looks around and coughs and frowns.   

Krisha frowns at Xander, she coughs a little and the two dibbuns cry"The cookies on fire!..Cookies on fire!!!"   

Xander gasps and rushes over with the oven mit and opens the oven, lucky he jumps back as indeed the cookies are on fire, he frowns and seems to panic a little as more smoke fills the kitchens,he coughs and finds something to put the cookies out and lucky he only serious burned the tray, the oven is fine.....but the kitchen will need to air out now.   

Oh and the cookies are dead now...yummy burnt to a black crisp cookies and the tray is coated in hard black...those use to be cookies. Before they caught on ..fire!   

The champion frowns "Why are cookies on=coughs= fire for?"
   
Krisha sighs and gets everyone out of the kitchens and some order beasts start airing out the kitchens as some worried beast come to look to see what is going on as the badger mother sighs"So..wot were those..fire cookies?"   

Xander sits down and frowns"I'm sorry...."Well least the other cookies are fine and safe, not the ones that were on fire they are gonna take a while to clean up and yes he will clean up.   

Matilda sighs and smiles a little "Ok lets all calm down...looks like there is some cookies still and milk, or juice to go with them..I say we all relax, eat a snack and tell Xander thank you"   

Krisha nods as she offers a smile and pats him on the shoulder.   

The dibuns cheer and get cookies and juice, maybe greensap milk.Some dibbuns just sit down, a few hug Xander and one wants to sit in his lap.
   
Xander smiles a little and gets his own cookie.He blinks at the dibbun in his lap and seems to suddenly frown, sudden have tears and gently hands the dibbun off to Krisha and goes out into the rain.   

Matilda sighs "I will check on him.."She gets her cloak and follows the badger outside.

Krisha takes the dibbun and nods as she watches them go and shakes her head "Its fine...she will let the champion handle it.
   
Xander gets as far as the bell tower before just standing there in tears, stareing at the ground, then slowly sitting down.   

"You know....having a cloak is good in the raid"Comes a voice, its Matilda as she speaks and offers him a cloak "Talk about it? Talking helps..unless you rather not"   

Xander frowns "I set cookies on fire" He says quietly   

A nod from Matilda "But I dont think that has upset you, wot else has?"
   
Xander frowns "The dibbun in my lap....I..they made me think of when..Northstar was..."He stops and then goes on "My daughter..I remember the day we were ambushed and..she died and I couldn't stop it and neither could Ferro or Vojin, it happen so...so fast and then I went to try and take out 15 or more vermin, somehow killing most of them and only like..4-5 got away to who knows where and I wanted to so badly track them down...but I..I didn't"'   

The champion sits down and nods "Its good you didn't go after them, even if was later...going off in just revenge is never good and I remember you mentioning about Norrthstar...so..memories are coming back then?"   

Xander wipes away some tears "Somewhat..even if they don't its ok...the now is important, not always the past"   

Another nod from Matilda "Maybe but you learn from the past still, and you..change and change is not always a bad thing"
   
Xander nods, he frowns "Should we just go back inside and.."He frowns "I should..wash dishes for Friar Lacota or least the cookie tray
I..almost destroyed"He hopes its saveable."I mean...the cookies were literally on fire"   

A soft chuckle "Fire cookies..."She smiles "Its fine though Friar Lacota once he hears of this will ban you from the kitchens for life likely"
   
Xander says, "Probably"   

Krisha makes her way outside and looks between them, the rain has slowed some "Everything ok?'   

Matilda smiles "Everything is fine Mother Krisha, me and Xander were just going in oh and Xander...please come by the cottage tomorrow, ok..we have other things to discuss as well."   

Xander nods "Yes, of course"He stands and a nod to Krisha"I need to ..clean up in the kitchen and try and save the...one tray...and then will see you by bedtime"   

Krisha nods and then goes on back inside, get the dibbuns ready and to bed and then likely go to sleep herself.

Krisha woke up and at first wondered why it was  so quiet, the abbey isn't normally quiet, dibbuns run around and she  didn't remember laying down.She then remembered the  wooded path and looking for Xander, and..that voice.She sat up and seemed to take in her worse fears, she was not in the abbey at all!

Anwir chuckles "Arezzzzzz you awakesssssssss my dear?" He comes into view and shows his fangs "I misssssssssssed  youzzzz"

Krisha backs up as much as she can and shivers when she sees the monitor,"But...but your dead..h...h..how?"

Anwir smirks "Howzzzzzzzz.....fine I will tell you sssssssssstory." He smiles coldly "I wokezzzzz up and wassssss sssssssso weak, ssssssso injuried, couldn't ssssspeak a season."He points to the  jagged  scar around his neck where the chain  dug in, he barely survived."You sssssshould learn, check to sssssssssse if one issssss dead but ohhhh yezzzzzzzz you had your..."He makes a disgusted face "Fatherzzz"He chuckles coldly "My older brother...he wassssssss to be leaderzzzz of the tribe, but father knew..he wassssss not one of ussssssss....he wassssss not of the  tribe...he refussssssssed to take a sssslave, he let one...go....and later...tow badgersssss..."He gets closer"One was with..dibbun..."

Krisha frowns , he is talking about her and she knows it.

Anwir chuckles "Youzzzzzz fear mezzzzz,  and I enjoy that...prehaps I will keep youzzzzzz assssssssss a pet, like before" He smirks "Remeber?"

Krisha gulps and speaks "Y..Yes I do.."She frowns, but she was younger then, she takes a deep breath "Back..off" She stays calm as she can. A small bit of shvering but after a couple deep breaths, it stops.

Anwir watches her and chuckles "I told Ferro...I would letzzzz him watch me..ssssssslay you...and...eat you before I granted him deathssssssssssssss ssssssssweep releasssssse....maybe I can ssssssend him your head"

Krisha frowns but then shakes her head, making a fist as she sits there quietly.

Anwir speaks "I..torn apartzzzzzz a caravan...it wasssssss fun..chaosssssss...I alssssso almost killed a badger, maybe he did die after I droped him in the ditch...he wazzzzzzzz weak"

Krisha slams her fist into the side of the den, "He is not weak..he was ill, trust me..Anwir"Oh yes she remembers his name alright, "If he was in 100% top shape...he could of easily slain you and your stupid...ugly....face"

Anwir narrows his eyes goes to slap her across the face "Youzzzzzz will be sssssilent"He grins.."He..feared mezzzz, hee hee..a lot...fear mez..."He lunges at her, purposely going to stop a hair from her face"Youzzzzzzz do..."

Krisha listens, she snorts, a deep breath and a tense up as the clawed paw hits the side of her face, it leaves a claw mark on her left check, she watches him and stays still as he gets right in her face.She then narrows her eyes and speaks "I refuse to...fear you anymore, do you..hear me?"

Anwir chucles coldly as he goes to grab her chin and look her in the eyes, those sort of hypnotic  eyes "Do...you really ssssssssssssnackpack?"

Krisha growls and goes to pull away but stares him in the eyes, a small brief morment she whimpers and closes her eyes, then then goes to kick him away!

Anwir was not expecting a fight back, she is trapped..tied up mostly, but the kick  surprises him and sends him into the other wall as he groans, a hiss as he storms over and  goes to grab her by the back of her neck and  goes to...or least starts to clap down on her neck with his fangs, he hissses and releases her, his teeth didn't sink in, but they easily could have.He backs off "DO havezzzzz a bad night" He then leaves  her alone and the couple chains on her.

Krisha watches him closely and when he starts to clap down on her throat she closes her eyes and seems to wait on her fate.....that doesn't  come, her eyes open as he backs off and she glares at him, the beginnings of a battle fire in her eyes. She is not that 6 season old badger he caught before, she is not the one who was so fearful she gave in and even after rescued refused to speak 3 whole seasons and only then cause of powerful friendship, no she has grown in sprite and mind....any fear she had of him

Is gone.....

Krisha was busy, but she was doing fairly well with it as she walked around the orchards making sure any last moment gathering of fruit was getting done, also checking off what was taken in, and how much was taken into the storage.She directed beasts on where to go as she frowned a little "Ok, you two..apples still need picked up high and I was told you can do that."She gets a nod, she smiles "Alright then go do that please"And the two mice were off as she went to sit down under one of the already cleared trees.   

Caleb walked over "Hello Mother Krisha...all the plums are now in storage and a team is finishing with the pears" He himself had not expected to be busy right away but, it was fine, he was an order beast after all."Also Cynthia is helping check on the herbs for the infirm and for the kitchens"   

Keldorn was doing a little here and there.He now makes his way to the badger and smiles a little handing her a list"For you..totals on what has been gathered so far, well as of lunch ...I am sure a more updated list will be made at dinner"   

Krisha smiles"Thank you Novice Keldorn, not seen you much today or past few days..then its been super busy the past 2 days"She sighs.   

Caleb sits a moment"I think your doing alright, no one is panicking and no one is not working..chores are still being done and meals made"   
Keldorn nods "You have handled things well Mother Krisha and yes forgive me for that..I am sorry..perhaps I am..missing a life of wandering is all, not so much the warrior ways just..exploring...wandering around, finding new places"   

Krisha nods, she glaces at Keldorn as he speaks "Are you..wanting advice? I can try and give you some, not sure how good it will be but I can try..rather help with advice and give beast an idea where to help than answer some other questions I am unsure of an answer too."
   
Caleb smiles"I know for one wandering is sometimes good and sometimes bad"   

Keldorn says, "Only if you wish to give it, I know you are bust since Benar was...hurt"He decides to not ask how he is right now and seems unsure on asking anything else"I was once told there is just advice..not good or bad...just advice, its the beast give the advice that decides on their own if its good or bad for them and them alone"
   
Krisha smiles, "Sounds like you be good with giving others advise...well then its up to you Novice Keldorn on what you do, but do tell like the elders if you do decide to not stay, again its up to you as someone can gove advise but its up to you to stay or not."   
Caleb says, "I agree, be unwise ta like walk off and not say a thing"   

Keldorn nods,"I know...and I will let them know if I...decide or not."He looks around the orchards as harvest is getting finished up"Has a date been made for the autumn feast yet?"   

Krisha nods, a couple order beast come and speak to Krisha as she nods, a frown once"I don't know..I will check ok, promise"A nod and they walk off again as teh badger sighs.
   
Caleb shrugs "No clue.."He looks over and stays quiet as the beasts speak,then back to the shrew "Maybe Friair Lacota knows"   

Keldorn says, "It is worth asking as if I did want to explore I would wait till after the feast so I did not miss it.." He looks to the badger "Everything alright Krisha?"
   
Krisha nods "Just some questions on how Benar is and I am being honest when said I don't know...I been busy with his duties and Badgermother duties, some chores to check on him, I know he is alive or the healers would of told u something if he wasn't or if he was worse"   

Caleb nods "I am sure he is fine and maybe he has woken up and they are just having him rest"   

Keldorn nods "Any news on..."He frowns, a question almost came out "Never mind...that too will be updated I am sure"   

Krisha sighs "Again..no news there either, I am sure news will come will it comes."   

Caleb frowns, but nods "My mom and the champion is looking I know and not sure how much supplies they had, enough for like 3-4 days so they will likely be back soon with news and like get more supplies"   

Keldorn says, "Thar is always getting supplies in Ferravale as well.I am sure, all is well just worry on what is happening at the abbey for now"
   
From a particular tall tree close to the wall, a squirrel leaps onto the ramparts, startling a nearby guard. Giving a friendly smile, John unbuckles his sword and tosses it towards the mouse who manages to catches, albeit slightly bewildered. "Look, I swear I don' have anything else b'this, mate!" The squirrel says, and, true to his word, he appears to be only wearing a loose shirt and trousers, having forgone even his boots. He leaps again, this time into a tree in the orchard, climbing down as quick as he can, slipping the last few feet and falling rather ungracefully unto his back. After moment, he pulls himself up, stretching his back with a groan. He sees the beasts nearby and waves. "'Ello there! Good day t'day, aren't it?"   

Krisha nods slowly and watches the sudden appearance of a squirrel as mutters are heard she stands and goes over 'Calm down everyone back to work..please...thank you"She shrugs "The day could be better but its ok so far..an interesting way to enter the abbey I must say"   
Caleb blinks and chuckles a little, a wave is given though and a shrug "Its a day....that's about it sur. abbey is still standing so that's good"   

Keldorn nods a hello"Juts another day in the abbey is all"He will make sure the mouse knows where to take the blade though and then will walk back to the orchards   

"Aye, well, I bumped into that badger Xander, I did." While nodding, the squirrel grabs his shoulder, still stretching it out. "And going through the trees was the fastest way." John shrugs, letting out a long sigh before adding, in a far graver voice, "It's sad business 'bout the Father Abbot, I hear. 'Suppose things can only go so well without him..." After looking around at the abby-beasts, his gaze falls on the badger. "Say...you aren't the Mother Krisha, are you?"
   
Krisha frowns, and then a deep breath "Abbot Benar...isn't dead...he was unconscious and broke his arm"Though she has yet to hear news he woke up, she is sure he may of briefly.."Wait you saw...Xander..where?" She sounds worried, last she saw him was when the accident happen.   
Caleb says, "The abbot is recovering"   

Keldorn says, "I am sure the healers will update us on just how Benar is but for now he is to be left alone to recover better."   

John raises an eyebrow at the news. "Not dead?" he says, going back to the lighter tone. "Well, that's very good t'hear...Xander was unsure 'bout that. Speaking o'which," the squirrel points northward, "He were up by the River Moss, he were, not two days past." While John does note Krisha's worry, he doesn't pry. "Admittedly I may of convinced him t'go south, I did, so he might be within a half day o'here down south."   

Krisha nods as she listens "I can..let them know"She frowns"He left his blade here....and its likely he wont get it back but its hard to say where south he would go"Again a frown as she knows, no one south would know xander, that she knows of.   

Caleb says, "I am sure he will be ok..right? Unless he runs into..someone that way."
   
Keldorn frowns "Runs into who? I think the woods are fairly safe right now, maybe a random robber but those are easly taken care of usually and most would leave a badger alone"   

"Don't worry 'bout it," John says, blowing a falling leaf away from his nose, "I gave a spear and a traveling pack t'him, I did, so he should be able t'take care o'himself. He /is/ a rather large badger, y'know. And he didn't sound all that convinced, at least t'm'self. Even if winters down there are far, far more pleasant than 'round here."   

Krisha nods "Maybe he will...come home, I hope he does..wot happen was an accident and if he thinks Benar is dead, he..he may not want to come home"   

Caleb says, "There is a village south ummmm...Mossflower Village...me and Cynthia stopped there, we did get lost on the way back cause of a short cut...its when we"He frowns "Ran into that...umm monitor"
   
Keldorn asks, "Monitor? Hmm those can be tricky things though likely a little slower due to the weather, the weather is slowly turning cooler now and soon there will be snow in a few weeks"
   
"Monitor's are easy enough tho deal with, 'specially with a spear..." John says, letting out a long breath. "Though to be frank I think the cooler weather's rubbing of on me! Feeling quite slow recently, eh?" He jokes, laughing, though, after a moment of thinking, he adds, "Mossflower Village? Think I passed through it few times with the caravan I'm with, I do."
   
Krisha frowns on the monitor and nods, she knows Xander can fight well"Least the harvest is almost done, so no worries on being ready..I jope the Gousim is ready and Camp Willow, not heard on how they are doing yet"   

Caleb says, "I know the plums, and pears were finished right after lunch, some apples still need picked and not sure what else"
   
Keldorn smiles "The abbey will be ready and when I seen at least the Log-A-Log they..seemed fairly well, had a couple things to build yet like the dinning Hall and a couple one room huts, they had the storage and medical huts made"
   
"Well, that's all good." Rubbing the back of his head, John smiles. "I can lend a paw for a few days if you lot need it. Though I'll be 'round for a week at most - need to meet back up with m'caravan before the snow hits, as they're planning on wintering by the sea..." Sparing a glance towards the shrew, the squirrel asks, "So the GOUSIM are back and at it again, they are? Good for them..."   

Krisha says, "Its still..some weeks before snow, though I know its, hmmms ..3 weeks walking though if can get a boat its a week to the western shores from the river and yeah they are somewhere along the river moss area, not sure if they are close to camp willow or not, they just recently took care of this pike that was in the river"
   
Caleb says, "I heard of a pike..large fish with teeth, I know a friend who was in the traveling show, had two small fish with teeth...sharp teeth, he was this strange vole...but he never tried to hurt anyone and beasts left his umm...fish friends alone"
   
Keldorn chuckles a little and smiles "A lot get ready for winter...ahh the sea..west or east even, good places to visit.I use to be a wanderer...though of doing it again, I..sort of miss it..alot"   

"I was born by the east-sea, m'self." John sighs, leaning against a tree. "Though I don' particularly miss it all that much, I don't." Looking between the mouse and the badger, the squirrel shudders. "Pike and other monsters like that are the reason I don' touch water if I can help it, I swear...Though the caravan's taking carts, so boats won' do them no good. I'll be able to catch up with them, methinks."   

Krisha says, "Guess depends on how fast they travel and what way they take there"She looks over a scroll a novice hands her and nods as she hands it back and sighs, its been a long past 2-3 days.

Caleb says, "I rather just stay at the abbey, maybe one day be Friar even...though some may think healer cause...well dad was main healer for a long while but I like cooking a lot more"
   
Keldorn says, "One goes where ever they are called to go....me I seem...so unsure..I was a warrior, then became a novice...yet I miss the wandering, it sort of calls to be and staying in one place seems...sad to me, but I have yet to fully decide"
"   
"They're all merchants, so quite a bit of stuff they have." John responds to Kirsha, turning to the shrew. "'Suppose there's some truth to tha, there is. I, m'self, spent many a'season wondering..." The squirrel waves his arms, gesturing to the whole of the abby. "Though if there's a place that's better than here t'stay, haven't heard o'it m'self."   

Caleb says, "I was born here, left a little while with a traveling show but grew homesick so..cam back"

Keldorn smiles "I lived in Halyard and my daughter is there, we...recently got a better terms as...well it was a while ago and I had left, didn't come back...her mother died, but she still has me...so maybe I will go back to Halyard, the city life is something I do miss and could help my daughter run her business she has now"   

"Say," John looks Caleb up and down, "You're of Dorarose's babes, aren't you? Don' know if you'd remember me, the name's John, only was 'round a few times when y'were a dibbon..." Shrugging he, turns his attention to Keldorn. "Halyard's actually the very place the caravan's planning t'stay."   

Krisha has been listening but also quietly off to the side speaking with a couple beassts on stuff that needs done, "Yes Tell Sister Ginny I will be there likely in an hour or two."She looks over to the others briefly before sitting back down to rest a little while.
   
Caleb says, "Yeah Dorrose is my mom and...no sorry, then likely didnt pay much attention unless one was here a long time and when I was a novice I was fairly busy"
   
Keldorn hmmms softly "Maybe...I could come along.I will think on it and know more in a weeks time"   

John nods. "Maybe. If y'don' mind me asking, what's your daughter's name? Friends in the caravan will probably want t'know, especially if she trades...And honestly, mate," he says to Caleb, "Think I saw far more of your sister and mum rather than you, so no worries..."   

Krisha says, "If you do go Keldorn, let me know ok.."Right now anyways she is the main one with the abbot recovering and the champion out looking for Xander....yeah no wonder things are so busy for her."   

Caleb nods "Oh...well thats ok as well."
   
Keldorn says, "Seria...she has a small tavern, she also trades silks and makes cloaks and such"   

"Oh, oaky then. Thanks." John says, pushing him self free of the tree and wandering over to a nearby basket. "Keldorn, if y'do end up comin-just know we'll be there for the whole winter, and most likely won' be back 'round these parts for a couple seasons at least."

Keldorn chuckles "I will give it thought yes....and a couple seasons may not be..too bad of a trip, after all I wandered seasons before and didnt think too much of it and my daughter would likely be happy to see me again, who knows maybe your come back without me"   

"Aye, well, y'should think 'bout it." John waves to the shrew as he leaves, before turning back to the mouse. "'Suppose it might be..." He picks up an apple from the basket, polishing it and taking a bite. "The thing 'bout here is all the fruit - very rare t'find apples near peaches in the wild, it is..."   

Caleb chuckles"Well we have a lot of different fruit and nut trees around the orchards, together in areas of course, also some blackberry and strawberries too, some other crops.....think found a peach tree once traveling, and a couple apple trees, heard a cheery orchard is somewhere north of the river moss but also that the owner is a but..moody or so heard, the family been like real..guess...protective of it"   

John nods. "As they should be!" He points to the wall. "I bet if Redwell didn't have those these tree would be picked clean every year, they would!"   

Caleb says, "True.....the abbey I don't think has cherry trees...but we do get some from Ferravale at times, and a couple other things think they trade, not sure what all it is though"   

Krisha had left a short while and now comes back, a nod as she looks tried "Trying to do abbot duties and Badgermother duties at same time is tireing, but its going fairly well so far"   

Smiling, John nods to the badger. "'Suppose you would be the one in charge now. Good t'hear its going well." Taking another bite of the apple, the squirrel leans to one side, looking into the rows of trees. "Really? I could have sworn there were some cherry trees down there- o'course," he says as he leans back, "That was back when I were younger than you, it were! So who knows what happened to them..."   
Caleb hmms "Maybe a couple, but thats all...not sure what trees are in Ferravale"   

Krisha says, "Bout as well as it could anyways.I will likely check on the abbey before I go to bed but no other news on how he is, which suppose is good...means he is either a little better and that he isn't any worse"
   
"That /is/ good." John says, looking up at the sky. "Only have one grave t'visit still..." He lets out a long sigh, tossing the apple core off into some bush. "Honestly, didn' even know the town had an orchard."   

Caleb says, "its small but they do, then again that is helpful for a town, they have crops too....I mean its not as large as the abbey of course"   

Krisha nods, she frowns "Guessing.....Oz...he died at the begining of Summer, something was wrong with his breathing and he couldn't do as much...he seemed to get a little better and then collpasted between the pond and the orchards, he...he died a week later"   

Caleb frowns, he had heard of course on Oz, just not how he died.He does listen a little as he sits by the tree.   

"Aye, Oz..." The squirrel is quiet for some time, before saying with a shrug, "It was bound to happen sometime - he were ancient when I were a dibbun, he were, and I'm just glad he made it so long..."   

Krisha says, "He was...fairly old yes...he did a lot and a lot being blind, he..trained me to take his place I had hoped to learn more from him though..then maybe wasn't much to really learn still"
   
Caleb stands as he is called off to help with dinner, he gives a wave and hurries off.
   
John sighs, waving once again to another reiterating beast. "Aye, Oz did a lot - an understatement, methinks...Unfortunately," he says, sitting down on a covered basket, "Never listened t'him or his wisdom when I were young, and I've paid for that quite a lot, I have..."
   
Krisha frowns "He...was good at advise and wisdom, hopefully I will be too one day...I can give some advise but...well beasts seem to think I know everything, even Oz didn't know..everything"She frowns "Like...when I asked wot to say when...he...he said to tell the dibbuns the truth, and dont hide crying from them...a couple dibbuns still will ask where Papa Oz is....really young ones don't really understand well...but they do know he..isn't around, some do understand I think or sort of do....least they didn't see him collapse. They were all at the pond at a camp out..fun and stuff"She frowns "The summer heat was getting to Oz and he said he was gonna find some shade and..be back...an otter named Hawkeye found him unconscious, he woke a few morments and then went into a very deep faint he never woke from"   

John wears a rather grim expression as he listens, his face getting darker with every word. "I...see..." He says, after a moment or so of silence when she finishes. "You'll do fine. Wisdom and advice jumped me one day, and suddenly I was able to talk to beasts well. When I were young I was a hot-blooded idiot, as I'm sure some beasts 'round here will testify to." He looks down, adding, in a small voice, "Oz was right though - truthfulness and speaking one's mind is the best way t'go." In a far lighter tone, he adds, "And I'll let y'in on a secret, lass - no' one beast ever knows everything, and most don' know anything! Y'make it up as you go along, or at least speak honestly and plainly as y'see things, you do."   

Krisha chuckles a little "Guess one day I will be old and..well hopefully full of wisdom of some sort"   

"Aye," John replies, with a laugh of his own, "One I'll be old and grey too!"
   
Krisha smiles a little and then frowns as she hears a sob, turning to see a lone dibbun "What is the matter..."The dibbun reaches up and frowns "They is alls making de rooom sticky with honey and leaves and...and theys trying to hide the broccoli.."The badger mother sighs and excuses herself, she best go tend to the dibbuns and sounds like save a side dish that was for dinner.

Krisha was sitting in the classroom finishing up a lesson of reading and writing for the dibbuns,some simple books and some of the dibbuns were reading other books, all dibbuns were also working on ABC letters.

Xander stopped by the door and knocked, he waited quietly as he had no clue when the class was over with.

Krisha looked over and nodded, she turned to the dibbuns "Alright time to get ready for dinner, go on and I will make sure your paws are clean"

The dibbuns close books and sit down papers and slowly walk out of the room, one hugs Xander  and then scurrys off, Sister Ginny will also make sure they clean up before dinner as well.

Xander blinks at the hug and watches the dibbun go and walks over to Krisha, a kiss on the check and a hug before stepping back "I..need to let you know something I will be doing in like..a week and Benar suggested it..."

Krisha smiles and listens "What is it?" She is curious as she gets a couple things and goes to walk on down the hallway.

Xander follows "Umm...to help me with...well advise and someone other than Benar...like the Log-A-Log to help the shrews and advise on being a leader of a small group of...beasts cause they are not like an army like the long patrol but..well small and ..."He sighs "Anyways I would kind of stay with them a season and help around camp and..watch and learn and talk with the Log-A-Log and I am letting you know and...well I mostly would be there but also  come here too...not a...not a lot though just to like update and...stufff"

Krisha listens and nods "Ok...and their camp is like along the river close to Ferrvale isn't it?"

Xander nods "It is...yeah, you could send a message if you need me but I will be fine, I..I promise Krisha and also not gonna like hunt vermin or fight vermin unless they like invade the camp"

Krisha nods "And the rest of the Defenders?"

Xander hmms "They would be at the ...base, that's in Ferrvale, a couple might help out the shrews and I have yet to talk to..Log-A-Log and will soon and....yeah that's all."

Krisha nods "Thank you for telling me."She smiles a little as she makes her way to the kitchen and finds that coffee stuff Gorvenalus has, she drinks it sometimes and even makes Xander some and sits down the mugs "I remember the river..I been thinking of some things...memories"She glaces up "You remember when we...meet right?"

Xander nods and looks at the coffee, this stuff is odd, he takes a sip and makes a face, scoots it far FAR away "Yes...me and the Defenders were helping a monitor...Ferro find his daughter, and that daughter was you...ravens if remember right had attacked you and....with help you got out of the river cause you fell in and almost drowned and I was surprised to learn a monitor adopted a badger and you..you didn't talk right away, you spoke later"

Krisha smiles , she is glad he remembers."And you showed me around the abbey, you were one of the first one's.....and..."She sighs "Oz that helped me and I started to speak again."She sips her coffee, she likes coffee now.

And Xander hates the coffee stuff, but he will just leave it in the mug and the mug stays here"Oh....yeah"He smiles a little."I am..glad we met Krisha and hope we are always together and...I will likely not always stay outta...trouble, and likely be..stupid"There he said it "Again but i will try my best not to be and I plan to truly keep the never lie to you  and I will always tell you the truth, if I am going somewhere I am...well going, if something comes up I will do my best to let you know or have someone else let you know and I cant promise I wont get into fights but I can promise I wont go...looking for a fight, ok"

Krisha nods "I am gonna trust you love." She smiles "Glad we meet too and that I knew Oz...remember meeting him the first time and when he asked me to let him train me to be Badgermother..I learned a lot and maybe I didn't learn everything but I can get advise still from Benar or Gorvenalus and I have read more of The Badgermother's book..."She opens it as she has it with her and points to a section.

Entry Of Oz Winters,
Write in the book they say, so I am after reading through entries of former badger mothers, and there is the first issue, a badger mother is usually female and I am male, most likely the first to accept this job, or have I really accepted it. Dibbun caretaker is another good term or maybe Badger Father since the dibbuns call me Papa Oz and have even before I became their caretaker, teacher, guardian, and parent figure. I am still not sure why a room full of dibbuns doesn’t bother me, they don’t but a room with more than a couple other beasts , then I am leaving the room. It could be the fact I been a hermit for the past almost 9 seasons, with just my adopted son Maxtor, whom is a mouse. I am to teach the dibbuns abbey ways and history..well guess we will learn that together this next season but the good Sister May is here to help, a hedgehog many seasons older than me. I have also had my first, and most likely not last, lecture with the dibbuns that one does not paint a room polka dotted with green beans, this after a food fight at breakfast, still uncertain if I am staying or not, most likely in the Spring I will leave.   
Entry of Oz Winters
.It’s been a season and a half. I have decided to stay as the dibbun caretaker, badger mother and wouldn’t dream of being anywhere else. I love the dibbuns with all my heart, they also love me in return. The dibbuns have helped me greatly as I smile again, I laugh and even play games like hide and seek and tag with the dibbuns. They listen very well and respect me, yes there are still times when a punishment is sent out as dibbuns do get into mischief still. I would protect them with my very life if need be someday. I still find their company more relaxing than others, I suppose it will take a while to get over my hermitness, in the meantime know this, a dibbun can even teach you, a dibbun has their own way of cheering beasts, and they are truly the future of this abbey.

Xander looks at it and starts tearing up "uncle Oz's..paw writeing...but...how?"

Krisha hugs him "He wasnt always blind, this was before he got blind...I plan to place the letter he had Gorvenalus write for him, in here as well, you know the one he wroe to me and Gorvenalus passed out as his final words.."

Xander nods and leans back "I miss him...so much..I should of been there when he ..died"

Krisha frowns "He had Benar and Lacota with him, he wasn't alone and I am sure he understands, I wasn't there at his side either and wish I had been but then again I would of broken down..so..badly, likely pleeding for him to awaken and..making myself look like a fool inasane beast"

Xander nods "yeah...likely me..too, so ..yeah glad he had Benar and Lacota there when he...when he died."

Benar walks in about then and stands off to the side quietly.

Krisha turns and notices him as she carefully closes the log book of Badger Mothers, she also sits the letter to her from oz into it"Here Benar, you can put this away now."

Xander gives a quiet nod.

Benar nods and smiles"Thank you Krisha, now it is just about dinner time and we shouldnt be late least Lacota be very upset with all 3 of us."

Krisha chuckles and makes sure her,Xander and Benar get to dinner on time.

Krisha returns and she was right, it was just in time for lunch, just barely as she hugs her father and smiles, waving to him as he seems to need to head back to Ferravale, and her inside.   

Sister Ginny sighs "I really liked that time off and Ferravale is interesting, maybe some time off once a season or...every couple seasons?"   

Xander steps over, he clears his throat as he stands there quietly.He has a light a navy blue patch over his right eye, some scar shows just above and under it, the bandage on his arm is under his sleeve and he no longer has his arm in a sling, he will offer a smile once he has thier attention "Hey..Welcome home"   

Krisha looks over and sighs, but nods anyways as she smiles at Sister Ginny "You can go on inside Ginny, I should be along soon enough" She gets a nod as she goes on in, Krisha looks at Xander"So...all is ok I suppose and see I got back safe and sound"   

Xander nods and he speaks "I did go out, not talked to Benar yet and..I still will. But I went out, hunted the Blackrose..got lost, hunted wood pidgion and made a camp fire...bad idea as it was already hot and that made it worse, then..well I got ill after I ate a little, didn't have much water either, I also found a wolverine that attacked, I killed it...fell in a hole met for it but got out thanks to the Guosim"He sighs "And I am...sorry for being..a grump and over worried"   

Krisha listens and frowns a couple times and sighs as she studies him, "So you..stormed off basically and just....why?" She adds "I am glad you got back ok"   

Xander frowns "Yeah....I am sorry and yeah the shrews got me back..sort of was..really ill from the summer sun..got really hot and didn't eat much like couple days, or drank water and.."He frowns "My right eye its...I....I lost it, it got infected and the healers had to...remove it, its gonna be healing slowly but I am ok to be out of the infirm a little while and wanted to..tell you sorry when you first got in the door and..wanted to..."He goes to take her paw.   

Krisha gasps but lets him lead her, she is not sure why he wants her to follow him but she does go to follow him,"Xander?"   

Xander leads her to the rose garden when a small table is sit up, lunch for two is on the table..salad, slices of pear and apple, some cheese and bread, some veggie pastry, and a light veggie soup with some cordial, he also has some wildflowers he picks up off a chair and offers them to her "I'm so sorry..I been a jerk...annoying and ..well stupid past few..days, maybe weeks knowing me and I don't remember before the fight with the vermin band, the..Blackrose...and..that's ok, well maybe not totally ok if I don't remember like the past...wot 4, mayb 5 seasons as yeah forgot some painful and bad memories but also good,  we can make new  good memories right? I promise not goona go hunting them, yes I want to find who ever they have as speaking to Ferro, and Vojin and Patch...there is still a vole..a possible abbey novice, and some mouse maid that could be slaves and..I know Kalypso killed Hawkeye..well she was the cause of his death and her mate...which I slain was told, killed...our daughter.I guess I went into bloodwrath and killed like 10..12 of her vermin over it and was injured..and didn't let those injuries get attention, like the eye wound."He sighs "I think..make that know I grumbled at others past week, have lett my temper kinda..sort of be..up cause of stress, and I am sorry..forgive me, please and if you don't that's ok I..I can leave the abbey and not brother you much, I don't wish to see you stressed or cause more, I..I love you Krisha

Krisha feels tears and just wraps her arms around him suddenly in a tight hug, "I..I am not mad...I was disappointed and you...you just seemed to be..losing yourself, I didn't want that and I love you also Xander and never did stop."She frowns "I would..be broken and lost without you at my side, I don't...can't lose you. If I did I be down in the logs as the shortest time being a Badgermother ever, cause if you died or left....I would as well."   

Xander  speaks "Your..not gonna lose me, I will be careful and I don't plan to go out to look for fights, not anymore. Patrol maybe  but I do have least couple others who can do that." He smiles as he hugs her back, he just holds her in his arms and says "You..have a half day left to be..on a break right?"   

Krisha smiles as she looks at the set up and smiles, she smells the flowers and nods "I do..yeah and..I love this, thank you Xander"   

Xander smiles "I..set it all up on my own."He helps her sit and he sits as they eat lunch and then another smile as he stands, a small sip of cordial and holds out his paw "Dance my love?"   

Krisha nods "I would enjoy that"She takes his paw and lets him lead"See...this is the you I like best, the you I..feel in love with, not so much the protect all in my vision you...that is ok as well but I don't need a 24/7 guard"She chuckles"Trust me"   

Xander kisses her and leads her into a slow dance as he smiles "I..I know and I am glad but I still can make sure your safe at times...and not gonna ever be totally worry free, but I will try to not worry nearly as much and..I promise to not give you any reason to worry on me"   

Krisha smiles and dances with him and then rests her head on his shoulders,"I say you shut up...and we just enjoy the evening."   

Xander smiles as he nods, he likes dancing and then they can lay back and look at the stars, maybe try and find pictures by connecting starts together.   

Krisha smiles, she ends up falling asleep beside him, feeling safe and happy.   

Xander smiles, he yawns and wraps a protecting arm around her and also falls asleep, a smile on his face.

Xander quickly stood up and frowns "Hey..s..sorry I was just making sure Benar had enough clay for the pottery and maybe I will make some as well...you ok?"

Krisha  nods "I..I will be...I told Benar, about Northstar. He also suggested a day off, a real day off for me and I am gonna go visit father and your gonna stay here...ok. I just wanted to tell you and  i want us back to telling each other when we will be away and an idea of how long...Like me..2 maybe 3 days with Father. Do not worry Father is picking me up and walking me there after...after this."

Xander frowns and nods as he listens as he goes to follow her once she leaves the room.

Ferro stood off to the side and frowns, they stood by a small grave freshly made.

Ferro speaks "No it wasssssssss not your fault, it wasssssss the wildcat'sssssss mate whom killed her. One can not alwaysssssss ssssssstop thingssssss like thissssss."

Krisha sighs and nods "He's...right its not your fault, its not. "

Xander frowns as tears go down his face "Who else..who else is gonna.....die, I lost Uncle Zee, Then Uncle Oz..lost Hawkeye and now we lose Northstar." He looks at the grave in another row and walks over, tracing the letters -OZ- and sighs"She's with you...now...take care of her for me, please"

Ferro follows him and looks at the grave" Oz Winters wasssssss a good friend, one of the few whom didn't seem jumpy around me, he is missssssssed"

Krisha watches them and sniffs, she lays a rose on the grave of Northstar and one on Oz's and goes to stand by Xander "Your talking to Benar and its not a request, talking is good for stress. Also just a warning he is not happy you cam into the abbey injuried and was in a fight, be lucky I didn't mention it was 10-12 vermin who attacked you."

Xander sighs and nods "Yes..madam...I will. This last fight has made my..memories all, like holes all in it, part of me wants to remember things abd part of me doesn't, but I remember wot is  important and was updated on least main important things....most of them" Yeah Keldorn being a novice is new, least to him right now "And if I don't get the memories of the last 3-4 seasons, so be it, tis fine." He looks at Ferro "Just keep her safe to and from and while at Ferravale"

Ferro nods "Of coursssssssssse, I would alsssssswayssssss but Krisha can fight, sssssshe was tight to use a ssssssshort ssssssssword, she can sssssswing a long chain, but yessssss I will alsssssso keep her sssssafe, sssssshe is my daughter and your also my ssssssson ssssssince sssssshe is married to you."

Krisha smiles and just listens "I need to update Benar"

Benar walks in with a light  as it is starting to get dark, "Update me on what?"He glaces at the grave and sighs"I am sorry to hear of your daughter dieing so young, too young..."

Xander stays quiet and lets them chat for now.

Krisha answers "Father is gonna walk me to Ferravale in the morning and I will be back in 2-3 days and he will walk me back. I have the couple Sisters and some novices to help with the dibbuns and Sister Ginny wanted to go with me, she will get back safe as well..promise"She adds "And Xander is to talk to you, told him it was not a request."

Ferro bows to Benar and stays where he is letting them finish talking.

Benar nods "Alright"He smiles a little "I think Sister Ginny will enjoy sometime away."He looks at Xander studying him a moment before he speaks "After lunch meet me in the kitchen yard or you can be early if wish, by the potters wheel, we could even have a light lunch and chat, work on some pottery."

Xander nods as he speaks "I..yes sir, I will be there" He still has the eye patch, and a hidden bandage under his tunic sleeve.

Benar nods "Good, now lets head inside...I have not had my tea yet and you all can join me before bed."

Krisha tilts her head "I have sort of gotten a liking for Coffee, but I can drink tea."

Ferro makes a face "Coffee? You drink....I wouldn't have an enemy drink that sssssssstufff."

Xander blinks "isn't that wot...Brother Gorvenalus drinks? I tasted it, its..odd...I can make this cucumber mint tea...if want"

Benar shakes his head "Tea tonight and some berry scones" He leads the way inside where the friends chat a long while, have tea and mixed berry scones before its time for sleep.

Krisha is with the dibbuns watching as they play in the entry area, a small smile as one hands her a clover flower.The dibbuns total about 36 now as a family of shrews had left that lived here and of course, she frowns, Northstar was gone.   

Xander walks in threw the gates, his blade handed off to be placed away in the weapons area as he steps on inside.He has a patch over his right eye, its a bulky one but will be replaced later if needed, his right arm is still in a sling and bandaged with his shoulder. His leg was not badly hurt, its mostly healed now. He steps a little closer to Krisha and just waits to be noticed, he is not sure weather she wants him close or not as he frowns, his memories are so..messed up right now.   

Krisha glaces to the gates and gasps, she quickly goes over to Xander and wraps careful arms around him burying her face in his tunic "Xander...your alright, your here...I..I was worried"
   
Xander tenses up at first and then welcomes the hug, he gives her one in return and holds her close."I'm..s..s...sorry fer wot ever..and I just decided to walk back with Matilda and Ewan."   

Krisha frowns as he tenses up and steps back as she studies him"Xander...I...I should be sorry, I grumbled and got mad out of stress and should not of told you that you lost me."   

Xander listens and frowns "I..I don't" He starts and sighs "I don't remember wot I did...to make you that mad" He has the ring on a necklace chain on his neck"But I am..sorry and.."He sighs "My memories are sort of all..clouded and I don't remember a lot of stuff, last thing do remember is bits and pieces of the siege and that the Long Patrol did go back home and..me speaking with Defender members on what to do in the future,The fight with..who ever she was and her vermin friends...guess...I don't know something happen and ...memory.."
   
Krisha sighs , she quietly takes the ring off the necklace and slides it back on her finger where it belongs and hugs Xander tightly"I love you, I have and always will love you Xander Winters and that's all that matters. We will get through this, together. We will...moorn our daughter, and get though other loss as well."   

Xander watches her and then smiles, he goes to give her a kiss and smiles."I love you too..and yes we can get through this...together"He sighs "I..I lost..Uncle Oz and Hawkeye and...Northstar in wot the past season..I would of been lost without you staying by my side and if I don't get memories of like last 4-5 seasons I...I don't care, its not that important"   

Krisha nods and gives him a kiss as well, a few giggles and a clear "EWWWWWWWWWW" is heard as she looks back and chuckles, so that's why they were so quiet " And wot are you dibbuns doing now?"   

One mouse says "We weres playing and then saw you talkings with Xander..so we walk over" A few nods and one smiles "You be goods now" A lot of giggles now.   

Xander smiles at the dibbuns and chuckles a litttle, "You know....some time by the pond would be nice "   

"You gonna have eye patch now" Another frowns "Ponds....why ponds...can we have snacks?"   

Krisha smiles at the dibbuns "We can have a snack and have some time at the pond and Xander can join us, right Xander?"   

Xander first answers the question of the eye patch "I dont know, will have to see and...sure.The pond is always nice in Summer"
   
Krisha says, "It is yes and not too much Summer left then  there will be the Summer Feast....."She sort of stops there in thought.
   
Xander asks, "Wot is the matter Krisha?"   

Krisha sighs "It will be the first feast without....without Oz " Some dibbuns frown and she bends down to hug them and looks at Xander.
   
Xander frowns but then smiles faintly "It will be ok, it will be don't worry...so are we gonna stand here or...go to the pond?"   

Krisha answers "The pond...least for an hour and then its dinner time and then bed time"She leads the way and makes sure to enjoy the rest of the day.

Krisha sits by the pond, she has taken the day off, not for the best reasons but maybe at the same time for the best resons, she sighs as she skips a pebble across the pond.
   
Vojin carefully makes his way over and near her, stoping a short distance away   

Krisha turns and studies him and frowns "What do you want...leave me alone I have the day off"   

Vojin nods "I mean I...can. I did get you safely home and ..I am sure Xander will be fine...or I think"   

Krisha snorts, she sighs and nods "Thank you...for the help"   

Vojin nods "Your welcome....I am sure he will be fine....not sure they were gonna get him here or...keep him at Ferravale"   

Matilda walks along the path to the pond, seeing a small crowd she walks over "Leave who where now?"She studies the wildcat "And..your who?"   

LilyMoore comes skipping from the orchards to the pond, the sparrow Butterclaw fluttering behind her. "Oh, hey, everybeast!" She calls with a wave when she sees everyone, having arrived within earshot during a pause in the conversation. The Sparra tries to land on a log, misses, and ends up in a heap on the ground. The Bellringer hurries forward and helps him get right-side-up again.   

Krisha looks over and frowns, she has the day off it seems as she looks at the pond "Maybe you can go back to Ferravale and check on Xander."   

Vojin frowns "I...can send someone.The healers there can do wot they can I am sure...as I am not much of a healer" Its clear he rather not go to Ferravale, though he was there brifely a couple times as he looks at the hedgehog"Vojin Longtail....ally of the abbey not to fear."
   
Matilda listens as she frowns "Was..xander injuried? We do have healers here as well...."She has not heard all the news, she knows some of it."How bad is he injured?"   

LilyMoore glances at the badger, having an idea of some of the things that may be going on. Butterclaw looks worried. "Xanderworm injuredhurt?" The mouse looks at the wildcat, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Wait...Vojin? Wait, you were the Ferravale Head Guard!" She gasps in recognition. They may or may not have officially met, but Lily is good friends with the Chieftain of the village, and she visits with her mother, DoraRose, a lot, so she tends to see many beasts and know their names without having actually met them.   

Krisha shakes her head "Yes he was injured...fighting a group of vermin...and he is at the infirm in Ferravale."She looks at Vojin and slightly glares, she still a little moody "Were you not supposed to have a healer go there..yet you stand there and..yap" She tosses another pebble at the pond, it skips 4 times and sinks.   

Vojin ears flatten and he backs up a little "I ..did say that, not like I need to lead them there and the one healer here is a bit...ummm...bossy and rude but she can go on her own or maybe another healer can go with who ever the hedgehog is." If he wants some added friends he is doing a poor job.He looks at the mouse maid "I was yes but I am sure I was replaced...I mean if they have smart sense they have a new one"   

Matilda takes a deep breath"I am the champion of Redwall and no one is going anywhere alone.And my name is Matilda and if you were head guard what happen? Were you fired or something?"
   
LilyMoore tenses. Ooooh, she is not a fan of walking into these sorts of conversations. Not a fan AT ALL. "My great-grandmother is one of the best Healers in the region, and that's a fact, just ask any Redwaller. And I won't have you believing bad about my friend. Of /course/ Blisa found a new Head Guard....after you kind of ABANDONED the village with no warning. At least /Bandit/ took the time to help train /you/." She takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, and exhales slowly. "Could somebeast please actually give me the level-headed details before I get more grumpy? Or do I need to go to Ferravale for tha...oh, nuts, Momma may not let me," she adds in a grumble. Butterclaw preens his wing, not impressed by the wildcat's attitude. "Blisacat Chiefyworm feed catworm to snakeworm if BlisaChief angrymad," he matter-of-factly states.
   
Krisha tilts her head "You abandoned the village?" Ok now she is moody, even more so "I do know supposedly Xander fought and killed like 10 or so....vermin...."Wait did the wildcat? And she stands looking ready to grab the wildcat by the collar of his shirt, again..."Did you abandoned Xander to fight those vermin on his own!!" What he seems to like abandoning things if she heard right.   

Vojin shakes his head "Oh calm down will you child...this group called the Blackrose was around, and me and Ferro and Xander tracked them down to find the missing badger cub..."He turns and yipes, why is he having bad luck with badgers, good grief..."No!..I mean...no I didn't...it just sort of happen and I was after the other ones who..got away..he fought and killed like...10...ummm 12..or so on his own, I didn't tell them to, and he beheaded what was clearly the one cats mate "   

Matilda just backs off and watches this, yeah not interrupting this as she folds her arms over her chest "Maybe Angela or Gorvenalus can go check on Xander."She frowns a little.
   
The mouse scowls. "My name is LilyMoore, daughter of DoraRose, NOT 'child'. And that doesn't explain why you quit being Head Guard all those seasons ago!" She and Butterclaw shrink slightly as the badger gets mad. Oh, dear, this just got scary.... "But they have Healers in Ferravale....Nana says they're really good, actually....so why would a Redwall Healer have to go?" She's confused.
   
Krisha lets go of the wildcat and just goes to sit by the pond again.Quiet for now.   

Vojin looks at the mouse maid "None of your business, I had my..reasons"He backs up from the badger and frowns"And yeah the healers at Ferravale are fine..I mean I not meet them" He looks at the badger as he adjust his collar some and mutters grumpy badger...I help and you get all moody.."   

Matilda says, "Do not be rude to a beast here. maybe you should leave and go to Ferravale, seems you keep avoiding it, besides you can keep us updated on Xander and anything else we need to know."

LilyMoore stands up, paws curled into fists, Butterclaw tugging at her tunic hem with his beak. "It is too my business! And I'm gonna write Blisa a letter that you're back and you're a total jerk!" She's nowhere NEAR angry enough to go anything CLOSE to Bloodwrath (she basically never gets that angry these days), but if the wildcat remembers her mother, he should probably think twice before he says anything else snarky.   

Krisha turns and goes to grab the wildcat by the back of his tunic and proceed to drag him to the gates, "Leave...leave now, and unless its good news or some sort of news that is important don't come back for a while and if its bad news send somebeast else!!!" She will drop him out on the road and walk back into the abbey and sits down again, some tears going down her face, its been a stressful past few days.
   
Vojin starts to say something, likely rude when he feels himself grabbed from behind, he claws at the ground and ends up uprooting some grass as he is dragged to the entry and a crowd watches him, least to the gates as he looks at the badger, one look says he best just back off and walk quickly towards Ferravale, yep that's best thing to do right now .   

Matilda just watches as he is dragged off and the badgermother comes back on her own and stays where she is "So..well least he is..out of the abbey."She slowly walks up to Krisha.."Krisha?"
   
LilyMoore watches open-mouthed as Vojin is escorted out of the Abbey, Butterclaw chirping in a frightened sort of way while hiding behind her. She decides to just let the Champion deal with what just happened as the mouse tries to calm down herself.   

Krisha sniffs" He wasn't very helpful...I don't think..I don't know..." She frowns " Those vermin had our daughter and.."She shakes her head, "Xander got hurt trying to get her back, and the last time I really talked to him I was mad, I was upset..told him he could stop wworry about loseing me cause he already did...and I didn't see him for the past few days, till yesterday bandaged up and in that infirm, and I don't want to lose him. I do care about him still and he thinks I don't..I was letting stress get to me and he was making it..worse at the time."   

Matilda listens, "I..could have me and some others patrol, make sure the rest of the vermin left...be wise if they stayed gone..hopefully for a long while."   

LilyMoore has calmed down to the point that she now walks over to the badger (ignoring Butterclaw's frantic chirping) and offers her a hug. "Is your daughter safe? I'm sure it's gonna be okay. Maybe you and Xander could talk more when he's feeling a little better?" DoraRose comes over, dressed in her black fighting outfit and carrying her sword, all sweaty and grumpy-looking. "I just heard a wildcat just got kicked out of the Abbey?" She asks the hedgehog, who is the obvious first choice of who to talk to about creatures getting kicked out of the Abbey.   

Krisha frowns "No..she..she isnt ok." She seems to not go into detail.."I..I don't know..I am worried but I am needed here. He had an injuriy on his arm and leg and face, he could lose an eye maybe. Father will likely let me know"She looks at Dorarose and replies as she wipes away some tears "Vojin Longtail, he was being rude and didnt leave when asked so..I helped him leave and told him to not come back for a while unless it was good news or important news"   

Matilda nods "Hello Dorarose and yeah..seems beasts know him, I don't remember meeting him before"   

LilyMoore goes to hug the badger, not pressing for details. "I'm sure Ferro will let you know. And maybe we can visit him soon. I'd go with you, if I could." DoraRose scowls, absently petting Butterclaw's head as he hops over and hides behind her, obviously still worried the Badger Mother is still mad. "Oh, great. He used to be the Head Guard of Ferravale, but then he just left for no reason and with no warning," The Gatekeeper informs the Champion. "I think he left before you came. I don't remember him being rude, but if he was disrespectful enough to make you kick him out of the Abbey, Krisha, then I'll keep what you said in mind. He won't be let back in for a while unless he has news."
   
Krisha smiles at the hug, she nods "Yeah, he was asked and said it was none of our bussiness and he had reasons"She sighs tossing a pebble that skips two times, sinks "Least I have the day off"She is calming down now   

Matilda says, "He seems to want to avoid Ferravale some reason, but maybe its just me thinking that....a beast to leave his post like that and disappear seems to lack respect"

Smiling grimly, DoraRose nods. "Um, yeah, I would think he wouldn't want to go back to Ferravale. He basically abandoned Ferravale, and Chieftain Blisa is known to have a pretty short fuse. She also has a gigantic pet snake living in her basement that she sometimes feeds beasts to. Usually on accident, but still. So it's kind of smart for him to not want to go talk to her just yet." About 6 birds all flutter down and alight on the ground around LilyMoore, chirping and tweeting. The Bellringer frowns. "Again? But I'm needed here." The birds tweet a bit more frantically, and the mousemaid sighs. "Okay, okay.....if I don't, the Friar might find out. I'll talk to you later, okay, Krisha? I'm sorry about everything that's happened. I hope it'll all turn out for the best. That's what we have to do..." and off she dashes with all her bird friends following, Butterclaw flying much more gracefully than he landed earlier. A guard comes running up and urgently whispers something to the Gatekeeper. "Oh, for the love....I'll be back! We have some trainees who excel at tying themselves in helpless knots." And off she has to run, too, to give the guards-in-training (there's literally just 2) another one of the lectures she's becoming an expert at giving....   

Krisha watches as she rushes off and sighs, "Well seems I am not the only one having a bad day"   

Matilda hmms and looks to the badger "Yeah.....want to do something? Anything..in the abbey or if you have the day off..in the woods."
   
Krisha shakes her head, "Don't feel like....anything"She frowns "Northstar...those vermin killed her ...almost killed Xander also....he needs to pull through this...he cant die too.."   

Matilda gasps, ok that explains the moodyness and the grumpness "Oh...Krisha..."She thinks and lays a paw on her shoulder,"Xander is strong and will get though this. Try to not worry...." She sighs as she looks to the main abbey, smileing at an idea."Talk over some pie and greensap milk? I am sure Lacota would let us have a slice each, I smelled cheery earlier...cherry pie is good"   

Krisha manages a smile and stands "Sure..sounds like a good idea."She follows the champion to the kitchen and they eat pie and drink greensap milk and then talk by the firepit and watch fireflies dance around.

Xander opened his, well good eye the other side of his face was covered in a bandage, Also bandaged was his lower arm "Krisha..."A weak smile "I'm...."Well he is not ok as he frowns.
   
Krisha frowns "I don't...wot happen? I thought you were just going to Ferravale and..."Wait he is here, where is Ferro and Northstar!"W..where is my father, where is Northstar?"   

Xander answers "Ferro was..gonna wait till...morning but I didnt wanna..worry you..me and Northstar was gonna head back and it was starting to get a little dark at the time" Yeah travel at night it seems.."Ferro is at his shop..he doesn't know...unless someone else told him.."   

Krisha looks over his injuries, he was in a fight,she frowns "And?"She frowns "He doesn't know wot..answer me Xander"She is starting to get a little upset now, like grumpy upset."Where..is...our daughter!!"   

Xander frowns, "S..She...I dont know..they...they took her while others started a fight with me...Rubblethorn and Mudjaw came but...Rubblethorn..d..died. Mudjaw..don't know maybe Ferravale and then thought I saw...saw..someone else."   

Krisha fear comes into her eyes, and then anger, then a sob escapes "W..Who has her?" She starts to head to the door, she needs air.
   
Xander looks over and reaches out "Krisha...please stay, ..your n..not gonan try and find her are you...don't wanna lose you too....cant lose anyone else...please"   

Krisha stops by the door and looks back at him "Did I SAY I was going out to..."She frowns "I am needed here..I am Badgermother..I..." Tears fall"Why did you not tell me you were going..out. I know you said you would get Northstar and father in the next day or two and you promised straight there and back with both of them and just in case of trouble you might take Ewan or Matilda or..or someone and you would have my father with you, I mean who is gonna mess with a group with a freaking monitor and badger warrior with them!!" She takes a deep breath and exhales, calm she needs calm before she starts the day.   

Xander frowns "I..didn't want you to..worry"And he has made her worry more, yeah way to go..."Please..calm down"   

Krisha takes a couple deep breaths "You....lied...to me."A promise not keep, she is stressed and what happen just makes it worse, she needs to just relax...maybe drink some coffee and help in the kitchens during the dibbuns time in reading and writting class as there was bread to make, nice bread that needed..kneaded and she could so punch bread dough.   

Xander frowns, ok he did,he sighs as he is a bit stuck in bed right now, still a little weak from the fight, maybe later today but right now he cant get up without likely falling onto his face.."K..Krisha...Please.I just..I can..find her.."He hopes so anyways, right now he needs to not make this worse,"I..was just..." An idiot, not careful...could of likely just stayed with Ferro a day or two and they all walk back, but he didn't choose that"Its been a b..bad past couple weeks and...I...I can't lose...anyone else. I can't."   

Krisha frowns, she stays by the doorway to the open grounds, she needs to calm down,think and clear her mind so she can get back to her duties as Badgermother. She looks at Xander and frowns as she speaks "You just...did" She then heads into the open ground,she will help make some loafs of bread for dinner and get back to BadgerMother duties.

Antenora tilts her head slightly to listen to the nearby noise of the young beasts running about before her attention moves to the badger. It's...more a look, not really so much a nod or greeting... just a look. Followed soon after by the owl just hop-walking over to a spot and settling in with a chuff. Let the stare-competition begin proper!

Krisha decides to look away, she isn't worried about the owl but is also busy with the dibbuns or she might go over, maybe here in a short while she will.

Antenora blinks, one eye before the other, and then nods slightly as she is left to her own devices and turns to just tug and adjust at the bandaging in an effort to get it comfortable, leaving the badger to her charge without really interrupting or moving to get closer.

Krisha gets a hedgehog and an otter she knows to help with the dibbuns and goes to check on the owl, "Hello there, did you need any help?"

"No," is the immediate response. "Not...at the moment, at any rate. Merely...biding time until this injury is mended and I can get my wing working proper again." She chuffs softly before turning to look at the badger. "Do you need me to move? I'm not...bothering the little things, am I?"

Krisha says, "They are called dibbuns and no you are ok where you . It looks like you got your wing tended to so it should heal and hopefully wha tever happen wont happen again, it had been fairly quiet on the roads and woods""

Antenora chuffs softly. "Lizards. They...attacked some small caravan and it was an opportune moment to get a quick meal." She checks her talons a moment and then settles back down. "If I'd...not decided to go after the rest like that badger did, I'd probably have not even been hurt to begin with. Fortunately...spears don't fly well and I should be able to avoid them in the future."

Krisha nods and frowns a little "A..badger went after them?"She seems worried now, she assumes the lizards must be bad, most are anyways as she listens"So where is the caravan and..badger now?"

Antenora thinks a moment. "The fox...kept going, I believe? I don't know. Don't care enough to know. The badger was...apparently friends of the beaver that did this," she nods deftly at her treated wound, "and invited me here to recover so long as I... don't bother the locals." She clicks her beak softly.

Krisha is not sure who the fox is but she has a good idea who the badger is now and frowns in worry "O..ok..thank you. I can check later on...was he hurt, anyone hurt?"

Antenora shakes her head. "No. The badger was angry and...I think the lizards regretted that a great deal." She gives a light bob of her head. "At least they didn't regret it very long."

Krisha nods, she sighs "Ok...thank you for the info, I will talk to someone later. I am glad no one else was hurt"

Antenora chuffs. "I'd have been glad if one less had been hurt, though... it's an unpleasant feeling, not having the mobility in your shoulder to get in the air." She grunts. "Could have been worse, though..."

Krisha says, "Yes you could of been killed, I am sure it will heal well...miss...ummm"She smiles "I am Mother Krisha by the way.""

Antenora ahs and straightens up. "Antenora. Well met, even if circumstances are less than ideal." She shuffles a bit and extends one of those taloned feet out like one might a paw in greeting...then just glances at her own talons and thinks better of it. "Right...you're all...uneasy about sharp things. Keep forgetting that..."

Krisha says, "Yes...no weapons are allowed in the abbey and the only one who mainly uses one, and still outside the abbey, is the champion...she might wear it for some special event maybe I don't know though"

Antenora chuckles softly and settles her foot back on the ground. "Well, I can't exactly take my beak and talons off... that would be a feat that far surpasses my levels of comfort."

Krisha chuckles a little, "We do have birds here, mainly sparrows..who think everything is worm...and my husband is friends with an eagle, the eagle is also a friend to the abbey"

Antenora ughs... "Eagles... arrogance with wings." She gives a soft chuckle... "And, yes, I was forewarned of the sparrows. Doubt I could get up to the loft anyway with my wing in this state."

Krisha nods "The only birds I dislike are crows and ravens, some attacked me some seasons ago."

Antenora gives a slight nod. "They are problematic. Intelligent, though. I tend to avoid them. I...must admit, I can't quite throw my weight around like some of the larger owls out there and...a large gathering of corvids is best left alone."

Krisha nods "Yeah and the badger you meet was likely Xander...I don't know of any others thats stilll around anyways"

Antenora nods slowly. "I...think that's the name I heard, yes. He was pretty...distraught over the loss of a few beasts, it seems. An... Oz and ah...oh, what was the other..." She brings her talons up to tap at her chin lightly in thought... "Hawkeye? Something like that."

Krisha frowns and looks down "Oz...died a couple weeks ago, he was Badger mother before me...and I briefly heard about Hawkeye, not details yet..we are likely adopting Hawkeye son"

Antenora ohs... "I know...nothing of any of them. Still...that is unfortunate. A loss is never easy." She shrugs lightly and winces ever so faintly, a glance going to her injured shoulder.

Krisha says, "It..is yes Oz was loved by a lot of beasts"

Antenora hmms and just goes quiet for a moment, sot of looking around at the Abbey and fully uncertain what else to say on the matter. "It seems this is a nice enough place, at least."

Krisha says, "The abbey welcomes all good hearted beasts..usually about now a lot do chores..I keep an eye on the dibbuns mostly""

Antenora leans slightly to peer towards said dibbuns and nods slightly. "I see...well, good luck to you in that regard. At least none of them can fly."

Krisha says, "No...there is a couple sparra young ones but they are usually in the lofts with family, but no no flying beasts...lets see sparrows, the eagle that visits once in a while...a bat was here once and think he lives in Ferravale""

Antenora frowns. "A bat... well, that's interesting. Can't say I've...ever been amicable with a bat." She takes a moment to straighten out a few feathers on her wings. "Mmm...well, all sorts, I suppose."

Krisha smiles "Most get along here and we have a peace treaty with Ferravale, usually isn't too much trouble on the road or woods....sometimes there is and ...last summer there was a horde"

Antenora ahs... "Sounds complicated. I suppose there's a reason I prefer to stay...alone, on the wing, and otherwise leave the...treaties and other such things well alone. If I don't bother a beast, they tend to not bother me in return."

Krisha says, "well having friends can be good too, someone to talk to or if ever in trouble, someone to help you in a time of need""

Antenora looks, again, at her injury and chuffs. "Sometimes..." She lets out a slow breath. "I'll concede that much, at least."

Krisha says, "The abbey could be good in winter if you don't have any other place to be"

Antenora thinks on that a moment before giving another shrug. "The winter is a fair bit away yet... I'll think on it." She lets out a slow breath. "But...first things first, I should get a little rest."

Krisha nods "I will let you get some rest then"Then then is back with the dibbuns

Krisha is walking along the walltops, she gave the class time to Brother Rick and was searching for someone that she was told was up here.

Xander frowns, he is up here, yep...but stares over the wall and still has his left paw bandaged, Right now in an older shirt as his main one is still being cleaned...well dried now so he will get it later. He sighs as he picks at the bandages.

Krisha looks over and speaks "Xander..."She walks over slowly "I heard something about lizards and helping a fox named Bandit..wot was that about?" She will wait on a reply.

Xander blinks and slowly turns "Krisha....oh , n...nothing and the paw is from me punching the wall, it will be ok neither was broken." He avoids eye contact right now just watching the woods."Thought you be with the dibbuns love"

Krisha keeps her paws in front of her"Not 24/7...even Oz wasn't with them 24/7 and why would you punch the wall and you didn't answer me about the lizards." She frowns "There was a couple ferrets and an owl...I can speak to this Bandit also if needed, talk to..me"

Xander snorts "I said..I am fine and"He looks at the wall top, the woods, a brief moment her and away again" I am fine...and lizards...lizards were maybe on the road, wot of it?"

Krisha folds her arms over her chest"Did you fight them? And why" She knows he fought them she just wants to hear him say so."You been..stressed I know, a lot are a little upset still over Oz's death."But she isn't sure that's why he went to fight lizards, she knows he himself wasn't ambushed either.

Xander frowns and makes a fist and then just relaxes again" Why are you so nosy right now? And gee..stress?..STRESS!" He snorts as he raises his voice and "You know I hear of it..after others do..everything is after this or that....in the tavern, others find out he is ill, I find out when the abbot and them are leaving....and then Uncle Oz is dead..dead like a half hour before I get here....gee and oh Uncle Zee while back missed that by a mere minute..no one bothered to tell me he was gonna die either. I decided to relax and go to the tavern, my tavern and find a friend..one who kept me sane when I was with Jedrick ya know Hawkeye..hmmm....yeah he was missing!"

Krisha listens and sighs and goes to lay a paw on his shoulder "Then go help find him...did the lizards have something to do with it and I ask cause I care"

Xander shrugs off the paw "Too late for that..TOO LATE!! Cause ya know what he died too...and by the way I had the great distress of watching him die!..The wildcat and her fox friends..not Bandit other..foxes and stop asking about the stupid lizards, I could care less of stupid dead lizards and some dum owl!"

Krisha backs off and frowns, well seems to prove it as she takes a deep breath "You did fight them and you wont even say you did or why..were you just looking for a fight? Why look for a fight what is wrong with you?" She controls her urge to get mad at him, maybe she should just walk away.

Xander snorts "Didn't fight lizards or owls....just leave me alone" And he lies."And who cares if I look for a fight or not, I plan to track down that cat and her fox friends..or least keep an eye out for them and you can stay inside the abbey and be safe, maybe with a guard or two."

Krisha frowns "You lied, you did fight the lizards..the owl, the ferrets told me what happen..Gorvenalus heard about it as well" Yep she asked. She frowns and fiddles with something in her paw,"Look....you can talk to me or Benar...I don't know go to Oz's grave and talk to him if nothing else, cause stress is not good"

Xander looks at her briefly "Fine...I ..there were lizards ok but not like I fought all 8 of em'..the owl helped and.."Yeah he could of walked on or got help, maybe..."I helped beasts.."True but he could of died had the owl not been there likely and anger at the time didn't help matters, he was just lucky.

Krisha frowns, that makes it so much better? She walks over and goes to take his paw, if he allows there is always place something on the wall, the paw she can close the fingers over something."I..can't handle this right now Xander so..."She frowns "Think more on actions and trust and.....and not keeping things to yourself."She then walks on to the steps and down the steps and back into the abbey without a word.

Xander snorts as she takes his paw, likely makes it worse"I DO THINK ON MY...."He snorts and blinks as she walks away and his paw closes a little more." I don't have to say everywhere I..."He happens to look at what she gave him and his eyes widen, he goes to follow her "Krisha?...Krisha...hey...."

Krisha stops and turns, she frowns, "You wanted left alone...might be a good idea , for now..I need to get back to my duties...ok and I don't wish to talk to you right now" Least she go off on him and make a new world record for lecture time,"..Later..."And she speeds up as she heads back into the building, a frown..a deep breath and clears her throat, she has dibbuns to tend to.

Northstar has wandered off, again and sits by the pond crying, a couple novices come to her and she growls a little and bolts to the orchards where she finds one of the trees she knows is ok to climb and climbs into it and just cries again as she sits on one of the thicker branches.   

Xander makes his way to the same area looking for Northstar and finally finding her as he calls up "Northstar...come down please...please"   

Ferro frowns as he has been trying to find a sunny place to sleep when he sees his granddaughter rush past him and followed by Xander. He gets up slowly. He has heard the news about Oz, it as not till this morning, a day after the death, that he heard and had seeked out Krisha but didn't find her, he walks closer and waits to speak.   

Northstar sniffs and looks down "No...not wanna. Goona stay up here forevers and evers."   

Xander frowns, He sits at the bottom of the tree for now as it would likely be unwise and unsafe to also climb the tree, one small badger is enough for now, it doesn't need a full grown badger also, that and the branches are not the best really.   

Ferro speaks "I...heard about Oz. Isssssssss Krisha alright, how issssssss sssssssshe handleing thissssssss?" He goes to kneel by the badger, "How isssss you?"   

Northstar looks down and starts to slowly climb down getting to where she is about 1/4 from the ground and gasps as a branch she palces her foot paw on breaks and takes her, and the branch..down towards the ground.It would seem the branch was damaged a little in the storm and extra weight finished breaking it as the badger cub screams.   

Xander frowns "I am.." Lighting fast reflexes as he jumps upright and barely catches Northstar, he does tumble back a little onto his bottom and holds the cub close , "Northstar...I got ya, daddy has you, are you ok?"   

Ferro tenses and then relaxes when the cub is caught.His tail moves slightly and coils up, if that branch was some vermin he likely tear it to bits, but its just a tree branch.   

Northstar hugs him close and sobs, finally a nod though "My..ankle hurts....and I miss Unca Oz..wana Uncle Oz backs....wanna him back." Tears go down her face.   

Xander sighs sadly"Me too."He just holds her, the ankle can be looked at later as he frowns.With Oz dead is..is he in charge of the Winters Clan, is there even one still as he sighs."Guess...all his clan is..together at least"   

Ferro listens and speaks "You are...still his clan, alsssssssssssssso issssssss Krisha and Northstar, Clan...or family issssss not just by blood, like me and Krisha....sssssssshe and me isssssss family"   

Northstar looks over at Ferro and reaches out to him also, hey he is grandpa to her after all.   

Xander nods and smiles "Your right.."He lets Northstar go to the monitor and smiles a little again "But also...wrong, there is 4 in the Winters caln still..me, Krisha, Northstar...and you Ferro," He adds "As you said Krisha is your family, she is my family and that makes you my and Krisha's family. Your her father and when me and her married it made you my father in law and me your son in law, so...we are family."He holds out a paw "Want it to be more offcial..fine..Ferro Winters, welcome to the clan"
   
Ferro hugs his granddaughter and then stares at Xander, he looks to his paw and grins. He does grasp it and then hugs the badger as well"We are..family"   

Northstar blinks and then smiles"Family...Family forevers and evers." She hugs them both.Then frowns again as if remembering something.
   
Xander nods "Yes family" He goes to hug Northstar "We will be ok, we will...lets see about your ankle, we can go to the infirm"   

Ferro nods, he offers to carry the cub and they can head to the infirm and maybe get lunch.   

Northstar nods and lets Ferro carry her. "I not eat breakfast....hungry"The lunch bell rings shortly after her ankle is bandaged, not broke just a very bad sprang ankle and it will bruise. They will need to mention that branch but it didn't damage the tree, the tree is fine and strong as ever..but where the branch broke may need trimed and cut a little to even it out, but all is well and Lunch is some nice cheese, pear slices, mixed berry tarts and some rolls with a drink.
