Visiting A Friend In The Infirm
RW Abbey: Infirmary ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Several beds are lined against the red sandstone walls of the Abbey's Infirmary. An examination table, separated from the rest of the room by hanging blankets, rests against the far wall. Tucked into a small alcove is a sizeable workbench with various containers for mixing and preparing medicinal compounds. Against another wall is a desk for use by the Infirmary Keeper. A curtained off alcove behind the desk hides a locked door to the Infirmary's supplies and linens. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Exits: Infirmary [Rec]overy Room, [H]ealer's [D]ormitory, [O]pen [G]round, [Hall]
Zork steps into the infirm, he had promised to get some other herbs and so it has, he hands the herbs to one of the working healers as he walks the rest of the way inside, he shakes his head "I should of been 'ere sooner ta help with de fight"
DoraRose is laying on a cot, her upper left arm bandaged and the whole thing in a sling. Her babies are in a nearby cradle, apparently made for a baby badger; it's large enough to hold the both of them comfortably. The warrior mouse groans and turns a little, half asleep and half awake.
Zork walks over to check on the mouse maid as he is the closest on here, "Ello Dorarose, how ya be?" Probably not the best question to ask, he peeks at the small dibbuns before one more turning to the mouse maid.
DoraRose's eyes flutter open and she turns her head to look at the badger. "Unngh...I feel awful...." She moans, coming more awake. "Can....do you know....how my brother's doing? He....he got hit in....in the side...oooungh...."
Zork shakes his head, "Sorry lass I do not know, I just got back 'ere this morning, fought a couple vermin on de road but that was all, did ya need something lass? I know some healing skills as well from me father, great skills ta have for any beast"
DoraRose squeezes her eyes shut and nods. "I...my arm hurts where the arrow went in, and.....would.....would you mind checking on my Dibbuns? They're in the cradle." She is so tired and in pain that she doesn't think that he might've already noticed that.
Zork searches for something and ahhs, "Willowbark...good for pain" He goes ahead and makes some with a small sprinkle of mint and offers it to the mouse maid, "De little ones be sleepin' and doin' fine lass, you just relax, in fact maybe Ozzy should watch them for ya, sure he wouldn’t mind at all"
DoraRose accepts the minty willowbark and sighs. "Thank you. Maybe....maybe if it gets cr...crazy again I'll have him do that..."
Zork nods, "Ozzy is around somewhere, probably with de dibbuns, last I seen him he was moody, when asked why he growled at me so..I left him alone, should stay 'ere more often than I do, but not one ta stay in one place too long"
DoraRose smiles slightly. "I heard from one of the Brothers that works allot in the library that he was in there with Scioto's daughter, Blisa, and her bodyguard yesterday. Maybe they know." Caleb wakes up enough to sneeze, then he stares up at the badger and smiles.
Zork nods "Wonder why he was in thar, oh well" He waves to the small mouse "Ello thar.."
Caleb laughs, and that wakes up LilyMoore, who also smiles up at the big badger. Their mother slowly turns her head to look at them and smiles a bit more widely. "I think they like you..." DoraRose sneezes four times in a row, all of a sudden, and she groans.
Zork grins at the dibbuns, he takes a quick look at the mouse maid, "Ya ok thar, ya keep sneezing lass"
DoraRose covers her eyes with her right paw. "I haven't taken my allergy powder for the past couple of days. The healers in here know what it is...I like to put it in tea." And, of course, she sneezes two more times.
Zork nods as he listens "Hopefully they will give it to ya, does ya mate know your in 'ere?" He hmmms guessing he probably does know, "I am sure ya will recover soon lass, just take it easy and you listen to the healers, as fer more fighting I don't think will happen 'ere again, roads were pretty clear, no signs of trouble after them two stray vermin last night"
DoraRose looks confused. "What vermin? Did you kill them? ah-CHOO!" she sniffles just as a healer stops, helps her sit up a tiny bit, props her up with pillows and hands her a cup of tea, then hurries off before the warrior can say thank you.
Zork nods "A couple weasels, they had no one with them, then came ta de abbey and saw was a battle, heard Ozzy was somewhere with de dibbuns, sounds like him ta keep them out of harms way"
DoraRose quickly drinks her tea and sets it down on the bedside table, then lays back and relaxes. "It does, indeed. I wonder what a pair of weasels were doing, wandering around on the road after a huge battle."
Zork shrugs, "They were close ta Ferravale, maybe trying ta get back, someone mentioned after this one ferret died, rest of the horse beasts ran away north of the abbey...maybe they were a couple that were not as fast errr sumthing"
DoraRose nods, then jumps as LilyMoore yells, trying to get the badgers' attention again. The little maid waves her fists around and smiles.
Zork looks at the dibbun and grins, "Ello, ello..hee heee..soon they gonna crawl and then walk around"
LilyMoore laughs and holds up her arms to be held. DoraRose nods a little. "If they're anything like their uncles, they'll skip the walking part and go straight from crawling to running."
Zork chuckles, he is not sure on holding the dibbun or not.
LilyMoore yells again and bounces a little, really wanting to be held. A healer shushes her from across the room, and a few of the other patients smile slightly, recognizing the sound.
Zork smiles at the dibbun and very carefully bends down to pick her up, he can place her back down again if told and he carefully holds her, "Ello thar., trying ta talk?"
LilyMoore giggles and chatters off some nonsense, clinging to the badgers' shirt and trying to tug on his whiskers.
Zork whoas, "Not the whiskers little lass, I need those" He chuckles again but tries to not chuckle loudly like he usually does, he can be soft as well as loud.
LilyMoore turns her attention to the badger's shirt collar, pulling on it with all her minute strength.
Zork smiles "These dibbuns look like they will be strong beasts as they get older"
DoraRose smiles and nods slightly. "I hope so. I'll teach them fighting, and I hope Leon will teach them healing. Maybe...maybe *yawn*..."
Zork smiles "Ya look tried lass, ya should sleep, I can watch de dibbuns for ya if ya like"
DoraRose nods as she yawns again. "Thank you...please do..." and she drops off to sleep, a contented smile on her face.
Zork smiles and goes to make sure he has both the small dibbun mice and heads off to another area of the abbey with them so the mouse maid can sleep
