Vengro's Siege of Redwall Abbey (Infirmary)

Vengro's Siege was a major plot from the summer of 1998.

RW Abbey: Infirmary

Several beds are lined against the red sandstone walls of the Abbey's Infirmary. 
An examination table, separated from the rest of the room by hanging blankets 
rests against the far wall.  Tucked into a small alcove is a sizeable workbench 
with various containers for mixing and preparing medicinal compounds.  Against 
another wall is a desk for use by the Infirmary Keeper.  A curtained off alcove 
behind the desk hides a locked door to the Infirmary's supplies and linens.

your @sdescs to indicate you are seriously wounded or ill OR that you are a 
healer 
or healer's assistant.

SkyStar departs for the hallway. 
SkyStar has left. 
Vengro glares as he sees Vlad go down...he kicks out at the nearest injured 
beats, a mouse on the 
ground not far away...a hard kick to his already cut head. 
Fluffle trembles, her breath coming out in short, uneven gasps. 
Naco says, "vengro you are weak" 
Waltzer looks at Naco.."And talk like that will *never* get you accepted in this 
abbey.." 
Jag growls 
Abarch watches Aviva silenly, his sword still in front o fhim. 
Jag murmurs, "...coward...." 
Vengro smiles, "My horde ahs lost...not me..." 
Javven has a large gash in his face, has a severed finger, and is unconcious. 
Jag murmurs, "...you attack the innocent and helpless.... and you take a 
hostage..." 
Joseph room-pages, "Back" to you. 
Filthclaw has arrived. 
Five Vermin has arrived. 
Filthclaw enters, with Five Vermin walking along next to him.  
Violet climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Violet has arrived. 
Nich has arrived. 
Nira has arrived. 
Violet enters, with Nich and Nira walking along next to her.  
Greyrose looks down at Javven, saying to Ironpaw, "What happened here?" 
Jag murmurs, "What kinna beast are you, Vengro...?" 
Naco says, "i'm helping to defend something good how ever i can" 
Cecil is losing alot of blood 
Jacob climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Jacob has arrived. 
Vlad descends the stairs to the open field. 
Vlad has left. 
Oren says, "Things a coward would do." 
SkyStar has arrived. 
Filthclaw dashes in 
Finnbarr says, "Typical from the vermin like him." 
Violet darts up the stairs,snarling. 
Fluffle sees Violet and squeaks urgently, "'elp!" 
Jag takes another step towards Vengro... 
Cecil says, "Excahnge me for the dibbun" 
Waltzer jumps forward.."Hells to you Vengro!!! Stop it.. you've *lost*.. There's 
no escape.. 
you're outnumbered!.. 
Nira looks around, trying to figure out what's happening. 
Filthclaw yells, "Melord Vengro!!" 
Tim climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Tim has arrived. 
Pillquin descends the stairs to the open field. 
Pillquin has left. 
Jag murmurs, "...Now... I want you... to drop th' dibbun..." 
Abarch's eyes flicker over to Violet, his black eyes boring into her. 
Vengro smiles lop-sidedly, "Now...all in my horde in this room are to be left to 
go free, or Fluffle 
here will die. yes, I know this tike." 
Rosella climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Rosella has arrived. 
Nich follows Violet up the stairs, slamming a rat against the wall. 
SkyStar is covered in rats.. 
Javven is lying on the ground hurt, in a pool of blood, in his paw is a bloody 
dagger. 
Jag swallows hard... 
Naco says, "to the void with you marten" 
Reepicheep climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Reepicheep has arrived. 
Tim yells, "Fluffle!" 
Scales almost unnoticable Scales slips behind vengro. 
Pine climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Pine has arrived. 
Aviva grits her teeth. 
Chess climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Chess has arrived. 
Sicant has arrived. 
Nira's breath catches in her throat, watching. 
Vengro points the dagger at FLuffle's throat precariously..."I can escape now." 
Violet stiffens,looking around. But she fixes her eyes on vengro, 
Chess collapes 
Oren gulps. 
Jag stares at Vengro 
Jag murmurs, "...no..." 
SkyStar glares at Vengro.. 
Sicant slips in, nursing her wounds... 
Jag murmurs, "...you can't... You can run... But you's can never hide..." 
Lochlainn has arrived. 
Nira slowly lowers her sword point so it faces the ground. 
Filthclaw dashes up to his Lord Vengro.  "Need help sah?" 
Finnbarr departs for the hallway. 
Finnbarr has left. 
Tumbleweed looks to Vengro "Take me.." 
Chess covered in blood 
Fluffle bites her lip, silent tears appearing in her eyes and running down her 
furry cheeks. 
Thunderwing climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Thunderwing has arrived. 
Jag murmurs, "...you can run forever, until your legs fall apart..." 
Nira glances at Violet. 
Cecil screeches a a deafinig screech to get Vengro attention off everyone 
Pine groans and pulls himself inside...he sees Vengro, and his paw tightens on 
the hilt of his 
sword. 
Tumbleweed says, "Don't take Fluffle.." 
Aviva yells, "TUmbleweed, no!" 
Abarch smiles slightly at Vengro, a glit in his eye, he looks back over to the 
entrance, watching 
the woodlanders. 
Nich walks up the rest of the way of the stairs stopping next to Violet. 
Jag murmurs, "...but you will not get away... You cowardly, scum-sucking excuse 
for a horde 
leader...." 
Aviva looks at Nira and VIolet. 
Naco yells, "HEY VENGRO CATCH!!" 
Jag murmurs, "...now drop the dibbun, mate..." 
Vengro smiles grimly, "I can withstand any of your pitiful remarks to free the 
dibbun." 
Waltzer grinds his teeth.. but moves to Javven, working to staunch his bleeding 
wounds with 
whatever bandages he's got left. 
Tumbleweed says, "Take me instead.." 
Chess jerks and alys still....very still 
Violet flicks her ears back,turning her sword point down. 
Jag takes another step forward 
Joseph yells, "Tumbleweed!" 
Naco chucks a rock at vengro 
Oren says, "But you'll never win, Vengro. In the end, we will get you." 
Scales trys to shuve his Jagged ShortSword through Vengro's unsuspecting back. 
Thunderwing loks.. 
Cecil gasps 
Jag keeps his attention on Vengro.. 
Violet says,"Vengro, I suggest you put the dibbun down.. And run like hell" 
SkyStar glances over at Vengro,throwing a rat on her against the wall,still 
covered in rats.. 
Vengro: Let me explain something. IM backed up into a corner with a dagger to 
Fluffle's neck. 
ANy questions? 
Jag takes another step away. He's so close Vengro could just stab him right 
now... His defenses 
are down 
Aviva looks around her at all the hordebeasts and woodlanders, and then turns 
herattention back 
to vengro. 
Jag murmurs, "...drop de dibbun, mate...." 
A small grin spreads Abarch's face. 
Filthclaw waves his rusty cutlass.  "Youl'l have ta go throu me first!! 
Joseph nods, "Before we come an' kill your damn hide." 
Finnbarr climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Finnbarr has arrived. 
Chess looks up at vergo and growls 
Nich nods, a controlled look in his eyes as he says, "Like hell Vengro... Or 
else you'll end up there 
before this day has ended...." 
Jak has arrived. 
Naco hisses 
Thunderwing says, "You can't win, Vengro, you touch the dibbun, you're dead." 
Tumbleweed takes a step foward "he he 
Lone glances aroun, uneasily 
Pine's grimace turns into a grim smile. It fades, and a frown appears. He pushes 
forward, and 
murmurs something to Violet. 
Javven groans, and coughs up some blood. 
Alterac climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Alterac has arrived. 
Jag stands still, watching Vengro in silence 
Filthclaw brandishes his cutlass! 
Tumbleweed says, "What goes around comes around..." 
Wes climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey.

Jag murmurs, "...let the dibbun go..." 
Bagg has arrived. 
Vengro leans against the wall as he inches towards the wall, dagger still at 
Fluffle's throat, "All of 
my horde still surviving must be allowed free..." 
Sicant snorts, "He already -is-..." she mumbles, her tunic bloodied.. 
SkyStar rurls a rat at Jak 
Waltzer chuckles.."Take me! Take me!.. " He mocks quielty, working on Javven.. 
"dont' these 
beasts *know* he's already lost?" He rolls his eyes.."Heaven's preserve these 
abbeyfighters! For 
they need it.." 
Waltzer chuckles.. 
Chess is dying ...but still has fight in him 
Jag murmurs, "...let... the dibbun... no..." 
Aviva looks at Violet. 
Jak charges tumbleweed with his sword."If my sister couldn't kill that damn 
dibbun i will!" 
Jag room-pages, "Er. Go." to you. 
Fluffle closes her eyes, and opens them again slowly. She tentatively glances 
down at the dagger 
next to her neck, and takes in a large gasp. 
Alterac walks in, dragging his wing behind him. 
Ironpaw has disconnected. 
Lone follow Vengro, slowly 
An insane laugh is heard, and slades voice echos, "You'll all die someday!" 
Cecil advancea torawards Vengro, his wings ang feathers are fully out now, he 
appears to be 3 
times larger 
Bagg departs for the hallway. 
Bagg has left. 
Jag holds his hands up to the others 
Scales draws his bow and Notches an arrow beaded right on vengros head. 
Tumbleweed sidesteps,and slashes at Jak;'s side,stumbling under the weight of 
the sword 
Jag room-pages, "Er. Paw" to you. 
Naco yells, "hey ferret he'll just kill you afterwards!!" 
Jag simply stares at Vengro... Simply stares... 
Joseph runs and sweeps Tumbleweed up and runs across the room, setting her down. 
...grey edges... 
Violet raises a eyebrow."I doubt if any are -left- vengro, Aviva? Go tell the 
abbey defenders to 
stop fighting and let the half dead vermin,whatever leave." 
Thunderwing says, "Th' vyrmin's wait ehs death, this day." 
Waltzer sneezes all the beasts cramming into the infirmary.."Ouch! Hey.. get off 
my tail!" 
Jak jumps back and laufs at the dibbun's petty attempts 
Abarch watches the entrance as more woodlanders enter, he grins, wondering why 
they don't 
notice, since Joseph should at least. 
Fluffle squeaks softly, "Donna killa F'ffles..." her soft squeak is lost among 
the many loud voices. 
Tumbleweed glares at Jak as she gets up "You won't be killing me!!" 
Agua has connected. 
Aviva yells, "Woodlanders, stop!" 
"Someday I'll make you all pay!" 
Vengro shakes his head at Cecil bemusedly, "Aviva, righT? Im electing you as 
spokeseast fer the 
ABbey in this situation." 
Rilian shouts "Try a rat ya dumb tobeaked featherbottom!" from RW Abbey:Open 
Ground 
Agua sits up quickly as if wakeing from a nightmare 
Tumbleweed hurls herself at Jak,and slahses eveyrwhere,at his head,an=d his 
neck.. 
Oren just startes... 
Nira bites her lip, watching. 
Chess crawls off 
Chess departs for the hallway. 
Chess has left. 
Waltzer chuckles.."Ah.. my wife.. " He smiles and finishes bandaging Javven.. 
Cecil breathes on Vengor, his nostrils fill with the stinch of dead rats and 
weasels 
Jak jumps behind a bed and nonotches a poisoned arrow... 
Nira makes her way over to stand with Aviva. 
Javven is lying on the ground, in a pool of his own bllod. 
Agua blinks  
Pine leans heavily on his sword...his eyes flicker from Violet to Vengro 
silently. He frowns, then 
winces as his side begins to bleed more. 
Sky looks around...noticing all the crows have retreated 
Aviva nods, "I am not an Abbeybeast, but I will defend redwall's intersts." 
Jak says, "Damn this is close range" 
Violet eyes stray around the infirmary,just one second.. spotting the ones she 
knows 
SkyStar throws another rat off of her,and just gets a weasel on her 
Nich keeps a controlled look as he stays calm, resting the flat of his sword on 
his shoulder. 
Greyrose runs over to Agua, "Aguie!" 
Sky thinks...well...theres one good thing... 
Jag takes a quarter step forward, with his left footpaw... 
Harvay sees jak 
Agua stands up slowely a paw on his shoulder "Greyrose...Violet!!!" 
Waltzer looks up..standing.. "Violet!.. " He smiles.."I *knew* it. I *knew* 
you'd come!" 
Jak FIRES THE ARROW at Violet! 
Jag murmurs, "...let the dibb'n go..." 
Tumbleweed sneaks under a bed,and crawls over to where Jak is,and slashes at his 
legs 
Harvay jumps at Jak, a second too late 
Scales leaps in the way of the arrow. 
Aviva lowers her sword. 
Finnbarr yells, "Watch out!" 
Naco raises his shield to block the arrow 
Wes walks steadily toward Jak. 
Beachflower looks around 
Joseph pushes Violet out of the way and gets hit in the arm. 
Sky turns and approaches jak 
Jak get's slashed by the dibbun and kicks at it 
Aviva nods to Vengro, "I'll speak for the Abbey, scum!" 
Jag swallows hard 
Tumbleweed tries to bite Jak's hindpaw 
Scales Takes the arrow in the side. 
In a room page-pose to you, Violet ignores that, it's impossible to fire a arrow 
in close range;) 
Reepicheep studies the situation confused, yet draws his raiper just in case. 
Jak yells, "DAMN! to many hate me!...i'm leavin" 
Joseph grits his teath. 
Scales room-pages, "ok" to you. 
Greyrose sighs deeply, watching the confusion. 
Javven groans some more....coughing up more blood, ect... 
Harvay room-pages, "I had him first!" to you. 
Jak yells, "More WOODIES!" 
Fluffle bites her lip until her sharp teeth make a tiny mark on her lip. As she 
sees and tastes the 
blood, she gives another strangled gasp. 
Waltzer shakes his head.. and walks up to Aviva.."You will not speak for the 
abbey.. you said 
yourself, you aren't one of them.." 
Harvay jumps at Jak 
Tumbleweed tries to bite Jak 
Abarch continues to hold the sword in front of him, snickerning silently. 
Aviva nods to Waltzer. 
Jak departs for the hallway. 
Jak has left. 
Naco asks, "why don't we just kill him?" 
Beachflower limps over to Agua 
Sky departs for the hallway. 
Sky has left. 
Lone glances around. 
Beachflower says, "Hallo Agua." 
Joseph yells, "Because he's hodling Fluffle hostage!" 
Wes departs for the hallway. 
Wes has left. 
Jag swallows hard 
Violet glances over at waltzer,she nods just slightly before looking at vengro 
Jag murmurs, "...If we let you go.." 
Waltzer walks up to Vengro.."I will.. I'm the Chief Healer.. and I'm the only 
senior Abbey 
member in here.. I will speak.." 
Vengro bellows aloud, "Stop all 'de fightin' or I kill 'er now!" He adds as some 
inch closer, "Stay 
three micetails away, or Ill kill 'er." 
Jag murmurs, "...will you drop the dibbun...?" 
Agua keeps a paw over his shoulder..steadying himself out as he stands 
Waltzer turns and yells. "Stop  .. STOP FIGHTING. .NOW.." 
Naco backs off 
Cecil says, "We are at stalemate" 
Nira watches Vengro and Waltzer quietly. 
Harvay falls exhausted 
Beachflower holds a paw out for Agua 
Nich looks at Vengro saying, "If we let the rest of your horde go... Tell them 
to drop their 
weapons and stop fighting..." 
Aviva yells, "Woodlanders, stop! WE have a hostage situation!" 
Jag stays where he is... Just an arm's length from Vengro 
Oren mumbles "... ... he will.", to Jag. 
Joseph yells, "Everybeast STOP FIGHTING!" 
Naco says, "between a rock and a hardplace" 
Abarch contimplates fighting to make Vengro kill her. 
Nich room-pages, "oops, didn't finish that." to you. 
Tumbleweed glares at Vengro,dropping her sword,and picks it up hurriedly 
Fluffle glances fearfully up at Vengro, her bottom lip trembling. "Y'wouldn' do 
dat... no... norra 
killa F'ffles.." 
Cecil says, "There is no way Vengro will release the dibbun, and there is no way 
Vengro will be 
let out of here unsratced" 
Violet looks over at agua,she smiles slightly and notices her daughter. 
Oren, the same length away from Vengro as Jag, but on the other side. 
Waltzer turns back around to Vengro.. leaning heavily on his staff.. "There.. 
now.. you ask free 
passage to your remaining horde?" 
Vengro spits on the floor in front of Jag, "Back off stoat." 
Jag is right in front of Vengro 
Jag doesn't move... 
Agua takes Beachflower's paw he looks to Violet he grins brightly "Violet...your 
alive.." 
Jag murmurs, "...can I trust you, mart'n...?" 
Naco departs for the hallway. 
Naco has left. 
Beachflower looks to Agua "Where's Iris??" 
Pillquin climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey. 
Pillquin has arrived. 
Vlad has arrived. 
Pillquin enters, with Vlad walking along next to him.  
Lone:;gets ready to use his sword if he has to 
Nira says urgently to Jag, "Please, move!" 
Vengro squints at Jag threateningly, "Ye' got no choice." 
Pine moves forward and murmurs to Jag, "Do as he says...this is not the right 
time for heroics." 
Tumbleweed glares at LOone.. 
Pillquin drops the dead body of Vlad. 
Violet says, "Jag.!" 
Agua galnces around left and right he speaks softly "she's...dead.." 
Abarch eyes Joseph, wondering why he doesn't notice him. 
Jag murmurs, "...If I move away from you..." 
Cecil snickers, "there isn't much of a hoarde left, maybe a score or two left." 
I don't see that here. 
Lone moves next to Vengro 
Beachflower looks at Agua "No really..." 
Eclypse has connected. 
Jag murmurs, "...you'll still kill the dibb'n when you git away, wun' you's?" 
Nich has disconnected. 
Agua says, "I dont know...i got a note..saying that she was dead.." 
Nich has connected. 
Pillquin says, "Vengro.........that will be you." 
SkyStar takes a step foward,behind Jag,a rat clinging to her back.. 
Eclypse wakes up crying 
Finnbarr says, "Of course he will. Just like those dibbuns on the stairs and the 
Abbot." 
Cecil has connected. 
Beachflower asks, "Who else knows??" 
Pillquin looks at the decapitated rat. 
Jag swallows hard.. 
Javven stills lies unconcious, his face, neck, and finger stub bandaged. 
Agua says, "I dont know Beachflower.." 
Cecil has disconnected. 
Eclypse says, " Ugly" 
Scales has connected. 
SkyStar drops the rat off of her 
Agua trys to move himself to Violet

to finish Fluffle

Pine hauls Javven forward and to his footpaws, "There we go...injured bad?"

Aviva nods and Watches Waltzer.

Violet holds martin's sword,point first down. 
Kain says a quiet prayer to the badger lords asking them to give safety to

Waltzer looks at Jag.. and snarls.."PUT..THAT...DOWN.." he warns angrily.."I'm

mood to deal with you so called.. "peaceful" abbeybeasts!!! *and* Vengro.." 
Luner asks, " Lord Vengro?  What do I do?" 
Jag murmurs, "...I ain't no peaceful abbeybeast, mate..." 
Violet listens to the conversation.. still remaining alert

Alterac climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey.

Fluffle squeaks loudly as once more, a dagger is pressed against her throat. 
Aviva watches Waltzer.

Greyrose finally sits down, feeling her legs begin to hurt.

Vengro mounts the windowsill and looks at Waltzer...

Thunder climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey.

Aviva adds to Waltzer's speech, "Like *hell* we will!"

Khoal climbs the stairs from the main yard of the abbey.

Nira narrows her eyes at vengro, sheathing her sword. 
Waltzer says, "You've brought enough death and suffering on us for a generation..

Stonepaw smiles, "Don't wory Fluffle.  I sware to you it'll be all right." 
Nira crosses her arms, watching. 
Fluffle cries to Nira, "No!"

Waltzer grinds his teeth, clenching his staff in bruised and bloodied paws.. 
Aviva keeps her dagger piont on the ground.

Pine watches Vengro disappear over the window ledge...he heaves a sigh.

Abarch continues to hold his sword in front of him, his pitch black eyes boring

Favian walks in, depentent on himself. He says "Everyone, I have come from a 
battle with rats.

Lone turns towards the window, and takes a deep breathe, getting ready to shove 
Fluffle 
Rosella trembles with mixed emotion as she watches the hoardebeasts 
depart...hopefully...never to 
be seen again. 
Vengro shouts "Drop the dibbun now, Lone!" from RW Abbey:Open Ground 
Fluffle suddenly tries to resist Lone. "No! Donna push F'ffles.." 
Lone takes a deep breathe, and drops Fluffle out the window 
Pine's eyes flicker back to Fluffle, and he looks taken aback. He murmurs 
something reassuring, 
and tightens his grip on his sword. 
Nira gasps.  "Fluffle!  Please, go." 
Fluffle screams as she falls, her voice echoing through the room.

A long line of blood has formed on the bandages on javvens face, from the gash 
that was there.

Jacob is carful to show litle emotion... 
Waltzer watches out the window.. "i'm looking.. hold on.. " His paw is up in the 
air..then 
nods.."aye.. he caught fluffle.." 
Thunder descends the stairs to the open field.

Violet lets out a breath of air, for a moment looking relieved 
Waltzer looks at Aviva.."AViva.. get some of your beasts outside..to rescue 
fluffle from that 
monster.. I don't trust him *not* to steal her with him.." 
Pine releases a breath of air he didn't know he was holding. He waves a paw 
again, at Lone, 
"Then go. Quickly." 
Aviva nods. "Nira, c'mon.

Violet asks,"Should I follow also?" 
Javven collapses again, this time on a bed, more or less. 
Nich nods, "I'll go." he says calmly. 
Abarch's eyes continue to bore into Violet, Nich, and Waltzer. 
Kain has disconnected. 
Waltzer looks quickly at Violet.."No.." his voice shows strains of weakness
