Trouble Outside the Walls
Oz, Flowerbud
Location: RW Abbey: Great Hall
Oz is here in his chair looking over some papers, a sleeping hedgehog dibbun in his lap, he sighs and looks like he could really use some leep right now.
Flowerbud shuffles into the Great Hall, her paws scraping rather loudly in the quiet of the morning. She seems still half-asleep, but her burdens have already begun: in her arms, she carries a small basket of the late late summer fruits. He mouth is cinched downward into a frown, more from habit than from any more proximate perturbance, as far as can be seen.
Oz looks up as he sees Flowerbud and nods, "Greetings" he says sounding tried, he puts down the papers and sighs a little.
Flowerbud sets down her own load by an armchair and swivels her bulk around in that way that elderly women with weight of matronly distribution do so that her rump is poised to fall into the chair. "I suppose those dibbuns have been keeping your stripes white," she says, spotting the badger and plopping down. "Bunch of rascals."
Oz shrugs "Just...have alot more to do now with..." he stops and sighs, "Well let's just ay a major issue has come up and it's not good, I am for now tending to novices, making sure they do their dutys, making sure the guards stay alert, and dibun caretaker dutys still on top of it, and to make matters worse have a missing otter and a very bad wounded hamster in the infirm."
Flowerbud eases herself back. As she does so, her expression, too, relaxes into a look of genuine worry. "Wounded?" Her breath catches. "I'm afraid my routine keeps me somewhat ill-informed... What is it that happened?" She mumbles, "For all my grousing, I always found things pleasantly peaceful here..."
Oz sits up better, least bet he can with a dibbun in his lap, "It is peaceful...here, this happen outside the abbey" he frowns. " Has to do with a rat named Bloodclaw, he..has another captive now, Flicktail knows and....a rescue is being planed out, least we know where theyare"
Flowerbud shudders. "Bloodclaw. Not exactly a welcoming name." She shivers, though the morning is already growing warm and humid. "Unwelcoming names for unwelcoming types," she says in a sinister monotone, then adds, looking back at Oz: "Is he acting alone? Do we know?"
Oz shakes his head"Saddly no, he...he has a group now, fairly good size one and uses poison tip daggers, stll he had..." he sighs and shakes his head, almost at the point of crying,he wipes hs eyes and frowns "Feel like a failure right now, could of done something but couldn't...he would of nded up killinghim in front of us if any of us moved"
Flowerbud sits involuntary forward. "Goodness. I'm... sure you did what you could," she says in her best approximation of a sympathetic voice. "Goodness, goodness. How many know of this?"
Oz frowns "Well me, Oak, and Maxtor...so does Pike but he never returned to the abbey...and course Flicktail and....." he frowns and closes his eyes. "Lorimis..." he says it quietly and clears his throat and opens his eyes again," Bloodclaw has two captives now...."
Flowerbud looks sharply at Oz. "What... What do you mean? I thought you said it was just an otter."
Oz frowns "Bloodclaw has a fox named Silverfangs, he is a good fox...and...he has" he closes his eyes and sighs, well isn't like it will be keep from everyone too long, some already most likely know, he speaks again"He has Lorimis"
Flowerbud falls back into her chair again. Her voice catches. "The... Abbot?" It's not a question: she's merely grappling aloud with the gravity of the situation. "What..." she pauses, as if not wanting to be accidentally frivolous now. "Why was Father Abbot out of the Abbey? You did say it was outside the Abbey, yes? Perhaps... Oh, goodness. I was meant to meet with him this morning, we'd meant to go for a stroll. Foolish me, I'd thought it was his memory. Thought he'd clean forgot. This is..." The elderly squirrel composes herself. "What will you do now?"
Oz takes a deep breath "Calm down... Flicktail is working on a rescue plan, it is know where he is being keep and I do not know why he was outside the abbey for, this is why I am... very VERY busy, trying to keep things in order around here while the abbot's... unable to, course others are helping too I am sure and I am sure Flicktail is doing what he needs to do, Jake is in charge of defense and the guards, most likely watching the gate when needed too... best thing to do is try not to panic, we will get the abbot back quick as possible"
"Of course. Of course," Flowerbud is now the picture of calm. "I have known many difficulties in my life, and I've borne them with a grim countenance," she says, almost lecturing. "I just thought I'd seen the last of them. But of course, as you say, I will not panic. I will carry on." She grips the armrests and pushes herself to standing attention. "How can I help? I will even do dibbun duties, if it comes to that."
Oz nods "I will let you know, I have a couple novices helping in the infirm and in the kitchen, I even made sure for Zoomys sake anyways, that the novice were not hares." He hmms and looks to the dibbun and back to her "I know of a new teacher a Molli I think is her name helps teach the dibbuns at times, perhaps ask Flicktail what may need done or wheresome help I needed."
Flowerbud repeats, "Of course." The news seems to have worn away her rough edges. She is now the picture of dutiful compliance. "Yes, I will ask Flicktail. I suppose I'll keep up my garden duties as well," she says to herself. "It wouldn't do to let the crops get overrun because some rat saw fit to cause trouble." Hmm. "And I shall ask Zoomy if he needs help. Poor fellow, all those dib--" she stops herself and smiles apologetically.
Oz listens and nods "I... have heard of that, a couple dibbuns that cause him some problems, also heard his room was to be moved closer to the kitchens, or least it's what I hear." He yawns a little.
