RW Abbey: Great Hall
~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~//~~
The Great Hall of Redwall Abbey. Countless paw falls have echoed from these stones, and untold numbers of feasts and merry gatherings have been held here. A table, not nearly so grand or large as its predecessors, but quite functional for mealtimes, rests near the center of the hall. Chairs exist here aplenty, and they are all of a matching set. High above, the stain glass windows give the Great Hall a beautiful appearance. The glasswork is exceptionally done, crafted by a skilled artist. The floor is clean and swept. A fire is kept burning in the fireplace at almost all times of the day and night, and there are several more comfortable chairs and cushions set up here, of varying sizes. One looks large enough to easily accommodate a badger.
The Tapestry hangs proud and tall, and while the rest of Redwall may still bear the scars of natural disaster, this most famous of Redwall's relics remains unharmed by beast, time, or the elements. The figure of Martin the Warrior seems to be watching over his own with an unchanging, kindly gaze.
Soft light is slowly beginning to filter in through the stained glass windows high above your head.

Some discussion of Abbey security and safety goes before this…
Benar says, "As for other problems I have not been informed. "He thinks a morment "Wait, something krystal mentioned and no, it does not deal with vermin thank goodness""
Timothy squints at Flicktail. "I've only been gone for about a week Flicktail. Had to go and vist my Order to ensure things were coming along on schedule." His head tilts for a moment seemingly confused as to why Flicktail was so worried about it.
Flicktail's ears perk "other problem Father?" he looks at timothy "sometime I would really like to hear more about this "Order" timothy
Timothy seems more confused. "I could have sworn on my shield I've told you about my Order before Flicktail..."
Benar nods "There seems to be a tree in the woods, I am unsure where and will have to ask, that had a lot of dead limbs on it. May be wise to find and trim off those limbs, the tree is in the woods nearby. I would take some squirrels and good climbers with you"
Flicktail says, "I can do that Father" he looks at Timothy "you prob did..but i am a FOX you know....I wanna hear more"
Benar stands "If you all will excuse me, I am heading off to check on Sister Zinnia before I go to bed for the night." He then walks up the stairs towards the infirm.
Flicktail says, "sleep well Father Abbot"
Magramba sneaks down the stairs, treading lightly in bare feet, clad in nothing but a pair of trousers and a faded old shirt. He heads directly for the kitchen.
Timothy waves to the Abbot as he leaves and turns to Flicktail. "Hmm... we were formed after my people broke out from under the yoke of a slave lord. As you can imagine none of us are very fond of slavers." His eyes peek over at Magramba and he tips his head in greeting.
Flicktail keeps his attention on timothy "he wern't a fox I hope
The rustle of a rusty brown tail as it disappears around the corner are the only traces Magramba leaves behind as he slips into the kitchens, and maybe the flash of a grin.
Timothy shrugs at that; his ears wiggling just so. "I don't think it particularly matters what he was. A slaver is a slaver." His paws clasp over eachother and he shakes his head. "But we vowed we'd never be under anyone's yoke again after that bloody Red Dawn. Hence the name."
Flicktail nods I ever wont to be a friend to yer order
"Was that Magramba?" Castus asks as he hops down the stairs into Great Hall, and goes running after the retreating squirrel warrior into the kitchen. "He'd better not be eating my almond biscuits!"
There's an almighty crash from the kitchens, and the sound of breaking earthenware, then the shriek of a feminine voice. "You dirty great /thief!/" Magramba reemerges in entirely opposite fashion to his exit, hurrying quite loudly back into the hall and bowling Castus over in the process. "Now now, Sister Agatha," he calls over his shoulder, diving behind a large chair, "it was an accident!" A matronly dormouse follows hot on his heels, leaping right past Castus, flailing with a rolling pin. "You /brute! Half the pies vanish every time you come around!"
Flicktail cheers "you GET im Sister!
Timothy can only watch as Magramba runs out of the Kitchen, a quiet smile on his face as his little spiel is forgotten in lieu of watching something more entertaining than spinning off lore.
"Aaack!" Castus yelps as two beasts run him over in quick succession. He lays on the floor, arms splayed out. "... Save the biscuits!" he blurts out as he struggles to right himself.
Flicktail says, "hey I am only Abby champion I am NOT foolish enough to take on Sister Agatha"
"I wouldn't have to /steal/ them if you didn't /hide them," the squirrel tries to reason, ducking behind the winged headrest of the chair as the rolling pin thumps heavily against the cushion. "Oh!" The nerve! "And I wouldn't have /dropped/ it if you hadn't surprised me," Magramba continues, dodging the other way as the dormouse attempts to circle around the chair. "Ah!" With a surprisingly powerful and, well, surprising, move, Sister Agatha tackles the chair itself, sending the long, top-heavy object toppling over, her robes waving in the breeze majestically as she rides it down, where the back pins Magramba to the floor. "Ah-ha!" "Now Sister, let's just hold up a sec- Ow!" She smacks him straight in the ear.
Flicktail says, "now now Sister..we need Magramba....I will pay for th damages"
Timothy pulls himself up out of his chair and walks over towards Castus to Help him up. Dusting the fellow off and then moving over to Magramba. "I think a grizzled squirrel like yourself should know better." He chuckles. "Have fun dealing with the sister." He grins and then moves off to the stairs leading up.
"You don't *pay* for stolen pies," Castus says, getting up and fixing a crick in his back. "Well, except in the way Mag's paying for them now." He gestures to the violent thrashing he's receiving from Sister Agatha. "Was it worth it?" he asks Mag loudly over the din.
"That was my /best dish,/" Sister Agatha opines loudly, whirling on Flicktail, holding the rolling pin like a samurai warrior. Magramba takes the opportunity to squirm quickly out from under the chair, panting visibly from the terror of facing the matronly figure. He glances over at Castus. "For /her/ pies? Yes."
Flicktail holds up his paws "I didn'ttake any pies
"You *could* just wait until dinner, but nooooo," Castus, shaking his head and tutting quietly at Magramba. Of course he's being a humongous hypocrite since he regularly nips into the kitchen for food, but he's not going to pass up the chance to wag his finger at his mentor like that!
"I /could/ just eat your almond biscuits," Magramba counters, slowly backing away from the ball of fury that is Sister Agatha. The Sister herself stares Flicktail down, taking a few furious steps off the fallen chair. "Oh /no?/ You've never taken one of my pies?"
Flicktail hsakes hsi head quickly no "no marm..never a one...I woudl be scared fer me verra life
"Never," Castus hisses, narrowing his eyes. He'll have to remember to squirrel them away extra secret now that he's mentioned them out loud...
"Well enough..." Sister Agatha finally allows, lowering the rolling pin and finally cooling a bit. "But see to it that /that one/" and the pin points at Magramba, "stays clear of my pies." The squirrel flinches as the pin points.
Krystal slowly comes down the stairs, she has been moving around the abbey slowly the last couple of days.
Flicktail exclaims, "wait wait! please may *I* have apie...fer being...good?"
Unfortunately, the storm is still coming. Wordlessly, another figure appears in the shadows, almost a malevolent presence. "What is this talk of stolen pies?" comes a voice, soft-spoken, and deathly calm. "When was I going to be informed of just the latest incursion into *my* domain?"
Castus crosses a paw over his heart. "We swear to keep a nightly vigil for this... this *blackguard*, lady Agatha," Castus swears with over-theatrical sincerity.
Castus' tail springs up. "It wasn't me!" he shouts as Lacota arrives.
Flicktail exclaims, "I was ASKINg not Stealing!"
"Doesn't /everyone/ steal pies?" Magramba wonders aloud, ears tucking back as he feels he's been wrongfully singled out. Sister Agatha gives a laugh that borders on a cackle as the Friar's voice quietly fills the hall. "You're in for it now," she observes, slipping back into the kitchen with a last flourish of her rolling pin.
Flicktail says, "I even asked POLITELY"
Flicktail says, "And..and Magramba..he were just...um..looking for teh theives..thats it...he was looking"
Krystal stays on the stairs where she is
Lacota steps out of the shadows, and gives Krystal one of his rare smiles. The others, though, get no such nicety. "How many pies have been stolen? Each of you will wash dishes for the same number of weeks as the number of pies stolen."
"I stole /zero,/" Castus says, crossing his arms over his chest. "I was following Magramba to protect the kitchens! Honest! Flick, you saw the whole thing. Tell him."
Flicktail says, "I stole none..honest, By martin's Wiskers"
Flicktail says, "wot Castus says is correct"
Krystal stays silent and on the stairs, she lets what ever needs to be taken care of, taken cared of and slowly sits on the step. Her leg is still bandaged up from the fall from the tree the other day, but its healing nicely.
"Actually, my count is at zero too," Magramba answers, holding up a big fat '0' with his fingers. "Sister Agatha is far too fearsome a sentry, it seems."
Lacota narrows his eyes. "I've half a mind to punish you all just for general principle. The Kitchen is sacred, my sanctum. I take any incursion quite seriously." He walks toward Krystal, now, and says in a nicer voice, "My dear, how is the leg this evening?"
Flicktail says, "wait..um Friar...i did Ask if I could....um WE coudl have some pie..please?"
"I didn't even want pie," Castus mutters under his breath.
Krystal smiles, "It's feeling better, I was able to visit my bee friends today." She then smiles more "I spoke about being a novice and I may become full time Bee Keeper."
"Just to be clear, the pies... /not/ for eating," Magramba asks, giving his paw a little shake.
Lacota nods, and pats Krystal's shoulder. "I am very happy to hear that. You'll make a fine bee keeper." His ears perk toward Castus, and turns, giving the other squirrel an icy glare. "I heard that. Are you implying my pie is subpar? Do you have a problem with my cooking?"
Krystal smiles again, she stays sat down on the steps and stays quiet for now, not intrupting the talking.
This is a lost cause. He'll come back and steal a pie later. "Of course not," Magramba answers quickly. "Although /anyone/ could learn a thing or two about pastries from that dormouse right there," he adds, with a jerked thumb towards the dearly departed Sister Agatha. And so saying, Magramba slips off, back up the stairs from whence he came.
Flicktail says, "hey wot about *MY* request *I* liek yer pies"
"Never!" Castus says, holding up his paws. "I like everything! Just... I've eaten so much I was full, that's all!"
Lacota eye narrows at Castus. "Good. You know, I'm starting to like you, boy. So long as you stay on my good side."
Flicktail sighs
Krystal looks over at Flicktail and blinks, she then smiles at Lacota as she goes to stand slowly.
Castus chuckles nervously. "Y-yes, of course, I... I wouldn't dream of getting on your bad side, Lacota. I love everything you make so much!" He edges away until he's a safe distance... and then starts running.
Flicktail says, "oh look at thetime...Have agood night Friar i will get pie inna morning maybe"
Lacota is suddenly left alone. "Well."
Krystal blinks , well she is still here, she walks over to Lacota "You...ok?"
Lacota looks up, then nods. "I am, mostly. Seems beasts keep stealing food from the kitchen, though. In spite of my best efforts."
Krystal says, "Well, it prooves they like your food dear, but yes they should ask first, or just show up during snack time."
Lacota nods and smiles. "You do have a good point. I never considered it that way."
Krystal smiles and hugs him,she gives him a kiss on the cheek "I should go to bed, it is late, maybe I can help in the kichens tomorrow somehow."
Lacota hugs Krystal warmly and smiles. "I think I would like that. I don't tell that to many beasts, now," he teases, "You're special, and have special permission." He returns a gentle kiss and adds, "You rest well, alright?"
Krystal nods, "I'll see you in the morning, good night Lacota" With that she heads to bed.
