The Strange Case of Garnet the Stoat

Characters: Will, Amy, Aikuen, Garnet, Chris, Kentar

Location: Moledeep

Moledeep: Dibbuns Garden

Will wakes and blinks feeling something laying on top of him. He rubs his face and cranes his neck to see what he's been pinned under.

Amethyst had, with some help, located Will out in the dibbuns garden and curled up with him last night. She lays sprawled across him and shift position a little as he wakes. "Mmm Morning, Billy," she whispers nuzzling his face.

Will smiles and nuzzles Amy back. "Morning. ..." he repeats now frowning a little and wondering if she'd heard about what happened between him and Kentar yesterday. "Miss me?" he teases putting a smile back on he face so she won't catch him frowning.

Amethyst hasn't been told about Will and Kentar yelling at each other. The blind maid passes her paws over Will's face, neck and chest and back up several times just enjoying the coolness of early morning with him.

Will catches her paws as they pass his face again and grins at her, "Look what I got."

Amethyst smirks, "Cute. Now let go." She tries to pull her paws free but it's of little use, he's much stronger than her. She stops pulling and lays back down as if defeated. "Fine. Keep em. Don't think they'd be much use to you though," she teases while yawning, "We really need to stop waking up so early. If you'll let go we could do something useful like watering the garden or something."

Will smirks and draws Amy in closer. He lets go of her paws to wrap his arms around her middle and plant a kiss on her cheek, "We could do that or we could stay right here a little longer. Th garden's not going anywhere and we don't have t water it right now, we could wait a little while. Sun's just barely up. We have lots of time."

Amethyst smiles as her paws are freed and chuckles as she hugged and kissed, "I /guess/ we could stay here a /little/ longer. Can't stay /too long/ or someone might come looking for us."

Will nods, "That wouldn't be good. When it gets a little lighter out we'll go water th garden an stuff."

Amethyst lays her head back down against Will's chest listening to the comforting sound of his heart beat. She smirks at his response and reatch up to rub his head, "and stuff? Good. I like 'stuff'. And food I like food too."

Will laughs, "Ok, after we water th garden we'll get something t eat. Maybe take it out t th rose garden or something."

Amethyst nods, head still against his chest, "Something." She sits up and stretches her arms over her head, "We'll think of something." She's wide awake now and since he hasn't gotten up yet she pulls out her lute, to play with, til he does.

Later that day

Its a little bit past afternoon, AND WHAT IS THIS!?! Aikuen is outside in the Dibbun's garden lounging by the pond! He woke this morning to find Fira dozing on him again. When she awakes, they talk for a minute or two before Aik told Fira to go to their room to get a proper sleep. Aik has noticed that she has been very tired lately. But Aik was expecting something like that to happen after what went on. They still haven't talked about it. And wonders if they ever will. He knows its eating her on the inside. Though the fact that she gets hungry randomly, still alludes him. When they talked, Aik asked if he could go outside. She said it was alright as long as he doesn't hurt himself. As soon as Fira left, Aik wrote up a quick note ('Gone Fishing') to the others and placed it on the cot. Otter, Pond. He plops down letting the water lap his paws. Not getting fully in, because of his bandage and splint. Just enjoying the last days of summer. Eventually he goes to lay on his side, as he thinks on things.

Garnet comes into Dibbun's Garden with Chris in her arms, and a bowl of a porridge-like mixture. She heard Aik leave from the kitchen as she was whipping up the mixture. The otter looks much better then the last time she saw him. She blinks and shrugs as the otter heads out the door, before humming to Chris as she cooks. After she finishes she takes a double portion of the porridge and follows the otter outside. She sees the otter lounging by the pond, tilting her head before she heads over, "Hello Aik!" and she plops down near his head.

Aikuen was slightly dozing when Garnet enters the area. He creaks and eyes open as she plops down, "Hiya Garnet, Chris..." he waves a lazy wet paw, "Haven't seen you guys in a long time... especially the little nut!" he chuckles. He goes to sit up and hugs one knee placing the other leg in the water now.

Garnet smiles, "Since the night you came in looking like hell... But yah. I tried to give you some time to rest. I'm sorry that my husband kept barging in on you. I hope he hasn't been rude or anything..." she chuckles, and at the mention of her son she places him in the otters arms, "Out of all of us, your the one that deserves to hold Chris... I know you like too." she grins.

Aikuen blinks at her use of words, but shrugs it off, "Well yah... I looked worse then how i felt then... But thank you. And no, Kentar was very courteous to me, us... Fira has been with me since we got back... pretty much..." he hmms, then there is a ministoat in his arms, "Whoh..." a smile appears across the otters face, "Heh... Hello Chris..." he chuckles and glances back to Garnet, "What do you mean that I deserve to hold Chris. More than the others?" the little one gurgles, "Mikey!" Aik blinks at him and looks back at Garnet.

Garnet nods, "Well I'm glad your better... and Good that Kentar was being helpful..." she chuckles, and hugs her knees instead, now that her paws are free "What i mean by, deserve, is that... You have been so helpful with Chris. I was a complete duffer. Still am. But you helped during that first couple of weeks. Especially the time with the infection. Don't know what we would do without you. I'm glad your home..." she then chuckles at Chris, "He is trying to say 'Aiky'. But still working on making that 'Ah' sound first... At least that what i think he is trying to say." she shakes her head, "He likes you a lot. That the only name i think that he can even try to get out... How hard is 'Mum'?

Aikuen nods, "Thank you. I feel great." and then he tilts his head at her as she explains why he deserves to hold Chris. When she finishes, he shakes his head, "I'm just doing what any good beast will do... I know how to take care of a little one. Been a father before..." he hmms, "I know how to deal with infection... of that kind. When my wife died... i spent every free time i had, with my daughter, or figuring out why she died..." he hmms and rubs Chris's belly. The little one giggles and grabs for the otters paw with both of his. Aik smiles faintly, "I'm glad that he likes me... I love little ones...." he chuckles, "Mikey eh?... I don't know... 'dad' is usually the easiest to say first..." he grins.

Garnet says "You helped deliver Chris. You knew what to do, when we had no idea..." she looks down, "When i had the infection. I thought i was going to die... And once again, you helped. Knew what to do..." she chuckles lightly and looks back up, "We need you more then you can believe... No matter what you think... Thank you" Then at the talk of the otters family, Garnet nods slowly and pats him on the shoulder, "Your a good beast Aik..." she then tilts her head at the next part, chuckling at Chirs's reaction "Have you and Fira thought of?... You know?... Looks like you would be a good father."

Aikuen grins, "Your welcome then... And thank you..." he likes being told he is a good beast. Its refreshing, "I'm always here to help... no matter what it is..." he chuckles and pokes the little stoat in the nose, "Umm... we have talked about it... in general... never had a lengthy conversation about it..." he chuckles at Chris, "I hope i would be a good father..." he knows why he doesn't think so, but he never told anybeast for fear of what may happened. Stupid past...

Garnet smiles, "Well I'm glad your here then... And ill hold you to that!" she chuckles. Then she nods at the next part, "I understand... Don't need to say anymore... But what I've seen from you with Chris, you will be great father... even if your, dealings with Will, were less then perfect. It did work... But i disapprove of it still don't get me wrong... Stupid otter..." she tut-tuts the otter and chuckles, and places her footpaws into water, pulling her skirt up so it doesn't get wet in the water. Enjoy it while she can.

Aikuen nods, "All in good time i guess..." and then he sighs, "Yes... i did hurt Will... And I know about, what Kentar did... we are both stupid and will never do it again... believe me... i don't think i could even if i wanted too... But im ready to be a father again..." he sighs, and then raises an eyebrow at the skirt raising, "Ummm. Do you enjoy being a mother?"

Garnet just shakes her head. She doesn't want to talk about it much, "Well im glad that you wont... Or Kentar wont... Its just a terrible thing to do to a little one... My father threaten me the same way" but then she smiles warmly, "But i was always a good little maid... or i always got away!" she chuckles and nods, "I love everyday that i am... Its tiring and stressful but i enjoy every minute of it..." she grins, and thinks about slipping in all the way.

Aikuen just nods and chuckles at Garnet. He hmms, "Well that's good to hear... especially Chris, im sure he appreciates it..." Chris gurgles softly, seeming to fall asleep in the otters big arm, "He seems to be dozing..." and the otter lightly rubs Chris's belly while he sleeps.

Garnet nods before making a decision and getting out of the water at the moment, "You mind taking care of Chris for a bit... I'm sure you wont mind!" she smiles warmly, "Also... you mind turning around, tell i tell you?" again with the smile.

Garnet grins and waits till the otter isn't looking before, removing her articles of clothing, and gracefully sliding into the water. She ahs and paddles for a bit before saying, "Okay, you can look now..." and she hides in the reeds.

Aikuen looks back, and immediately looks away, "Umm... You want me to get your swimming things for you..." this is very awkward, and he goes back to looking toward the woods.

Garnet chuckles, "If you must..." and she dives underwater for a few minutes swimming to the side where Aik is, and she splashes him. She doesn't think this is awkward at all, course she is like that.

Aikuen gets up and walks around the pond, keeping his gaze away from her as he heads for the tunnel, "Ill be back..." Probably with Kentar. He takes Chris with him also leaving the bowls of porridge.

Amethyst had spent most of the day in the garden burrow with Will before going out to the rose garden where he'd fallen asleep. Amy hadn't minded that he'd fallen alseep but after a while she'd gotten up to walk around and before too long her staff hits against the barrier around the pond telling she's wandered into the dibbuns garden. The blind rat shrugs and plops down by the pond keeping an ear to whatever beast is in the water as she plucks at her lute lazily.

Will has woken up from his nap in the rose garden. He doesn't see Amy around but doubts she's gone very far. He continues to lay next to the rose bushes for a while before going off to look for her

Garnet laughs as the otter leaves, then she just swims underwater enjoying the freedom for once. She pops her head above and swims on her front for bit, acting like a shark. Then she swims in circles on her back. She swims surprisingly well for a stoat. Unlike her husband. She doesn't notice Amy as her ears are underwater, but she wouldn't even care even if it was Will. She is like that.

Amethyst's ears turn toward the otter as he arrives. "Problems?" she asks unaware of what's going on.

Garnet looks to the otter again and laughs, "Thanks Aiky..." she swims up and takes the clothes. She looks to the new beast and looks slightly surprised, "Oh!... Hello Amy! No problems, Aiky is just being a silly!" she says brightly. Garnet grins as she puts them on the side and says after a few minutes, "Okay! There on!" She holds her arms up in the air, and laughs.

Aikuen waits till she says its okay before looking to her. And immediately looks away quickly, "Geeze Garnet... Put some damn clothes on..." he almost growls. He says to Amy, keeping the look away from the pond, "I am not being a silly... Garnet... is being stupid... And im about the leave, if she doesn't put them on..." he sounds very serious.

Amethyst blinks, "... you could ask Fira to /help/ her."

Aikuen looks toward her slowly and nods, "Good... Keep it that way..." and he plops down with Chris in his good arm. He shakes his head, "No... And stop calling me Aiky... Call me Aik... And I'm not bringing Fira... She has been really tired lately, and hungry... Still in shock i guess..." though he not so sure about the hungry part, "So i'm gonna let her sleep..."

Kentar comes into the gardens, rubbing his eye slowly, the stoat seeming to have had a long day. "Hey guys." he smiles tiredly, going over to sit near the pond.

Amethyst shrugs, "Just an idea, sounds like it got cleared up." Amy waves a little toward the new voice, "Hey, your wife went crazy a bit ago or something, Aik fixed it."

Garnet laughs and splashes the otter, "Well if you don't want to bring her, that your problem. But you gatta relax sometimes... Aiky!" she grins and swims away quickly toward Kentar. He pops up and says, "Hello Love! I'm not crazy... Well, no more than normal! But you know that!" she puckers up and leans in. Garnet is just feeling really good today!

Aikuen looks to Amy, shaking the water from him "Yah she has lost it... too much time in the sun or something..." he looks back to Kentar and nods, "Hey-ho Kentar... Your wife is nuts... Just thought you should know..." Chris begins to stir at all the movement and sounds, "...mikey..." he gurgles, before trying to settle into the arm again. Aik shrugs off the 'Aiky', keeping his attention on Chris mostly.

Kentar chuckles a little and leans down to give her a quick kiss. "Yeah. I know. Why do you think I married her, hrm?" the stoat grins then slowly shakes his head. "I'm nuts too, you know. I'd not have married her if I wasn't." he laughs. He seems distracted somehow though.

Will had been looking everywhere in Moledeep for Amy except the dibbbuns garden for some reason. He had over heard some talking from there, it had sounded like Aik arguing with somebeast. He really hoped Kentar hadn't told the otter about how he'd gotten mad at him the other day.

Garnet chuckles and plants another quick one on him before slipping back into the pond, "Okay. So the stoats are nuts... what else is new!" she laughs and putts around the pond, all smiles.

Aikuen starts to rub Chris's belly and the little one giggles pushing the paw away. Aikuen doesn't even look at Chris as he is watching the others, "Yes, your both nuts..." and then he looks off and sees Will, "Oi! Will! Come here and lifeguard, im busy watching a ministoat!" he chuckles.

The stoat tilts his head at Garnet then to Aik, chuckling quietly at Chris. "Silly kid." he smiles. Will only gets a bit of a wave before he lays back, thinking over the day. He told Robin he was adopted. And who his real father was.

Will scans the garden and blinks a bit before zeroing in on Amy and walking over to her. "Thought you disappeared," he grins sitting down next to her. He glance over to Aik for a moment, "Did I miss something, everyone's out here except mum it looks like."

Amethyst smirks, "Yes you did and you should be grateful." She fake sighs at Aikuen, "He doesn't need t watch her swim, you've done a great job of watching out for her, Aik. Besides he's busy," she takes Will's paw in her own and entwines her fingers with his, "See. Very busy. Ask Kentar."

Aikuen shakes his head, "We are also minus a weasel... And Fira is sleeping. She has been real tired lately. It concerns me actually..." he thinks about going to check up on her, maybe in a minute or so, "Well i was here first, taking a snooze when Garnet showed up... and that's how the party started i guess..." he chuckles and stands up, still holding Chris, who has buried his face into the otters arms, "Now that Will is here...he can-" he sighs at Amy, "Yah sure, he is busy... Don't need to ask Kentar, as i got eyeballs... But I'm sure when Garnet begins to drown... I don't think Will, will be the first thing in the water..." he chuckles, "I'm gonna head off now, yell for me if someone dies or something..." he waves to all present, "See yah, Garnet, Amy, Kentar, Will... Say good bye Chris!" nothing, "Heh, bye!" and he is off for the tunnel, checking up on his wife

Kentar waves at Aikuen. "Night Aikuen." he smiles a little. "If you see Robin, tell him I want to talk to him again before he goes to bed!!" he calls out. "Sigh. I wonder if I hurt his feelings..." he mutters to himself before drifting off to sleep for a bit

Garnet watches as the otter leaves, and tilts her head. When Aik is out of earshot, she hmms to herself, "I hope i didn't scare him or anything... What do you think Lo-... Aww... My husband..." she grins and hops out of the pond, giving a quick shake before going to lay her head on his chest lightly. She mmms to herself, before also drifting off. Wondering what Kentar meant by 'Hurt his feelings' She feels to good right now, so she just shrugs it for later.

Will nods at the otter's retreating form and chuckles a little with the otter, "That's for sure." He looks around again, Kentar seems to have fallen asleep and Garnet looks like she'll soon follow him. Will nuzzles Amy a little, "You want t go inside? I won't be able t loose you as easy in there."

Amethyst shrugs, "We can. I'm more likely t loose you you know. You really shouldn't do that." She pokes him in the chest as she talks before letting him help her up. She thinks over what Aik's said about Fira today and sings out, "I know something you don't know," as she hurries toward the entrance. At the door she switches back to her speaking voice and adds, "I /think/ I do." And she gone inside.

Will laughs, "Oh, do you? What is it?" He runs after her and into the tunnel.
