RW Abbey: Abbot's Chambers
These are the rooms of Abbot Benar, They consist of a couple of rooms.
The largest room by far is the private sitting room. Tall windows look
out over the Gardens's of the abbey and beyond the Open Ground between
the cloister and the walls. It is a comfortable well lived in room with
chairs and tables, work desks, ornaments and books. A set of three
large armchairs are set up before the fire-place and there are
several large bookcases filled with tomes about the abbey and its
craft works.
Through a small door is Benar's bedroom, it is filled with antique
furniture and fittings and wood panels attached to the walls hide
the stone of the abbey. The single window is flanked by drapes of
thick velvet and though it appears like a rich room at first glance
it is quite simple otherwise. The bed is a single, functional frame
of wood with blankets and pillows and there is a small portrait of
Benar's mother Amarro as the only personal decoration in the room.

The Abbot is pottering around in his sitting room tidying up, humming softly as he straightens ornaments and generally does some housekeeping during a quiet moment when no one is demanding his attention.
Krystal has walked around the abbey looking for the abbot and decided to knock on the door...hopefully the abbot had a good amount of quiet time.
Benar stares at the door and considers not opening it, just for a short moment then opens it. He's in a dressing gown and a pair of slippers and looks damp, his tail and head fur is shiny with water and sleek. He looks out at Krystal then smiles at her, "Oh Krystal it's you, good afternoon, come in what can I do for you?"
Krystal is frowning right now, "Did you hear what happen to my daughter? And it concerns me...she is scared and worried to even walk around the abbey now"
Benar says, "Er no, I've been in here all morning Krystal, so I haven't heard and if it happened on another day then no one has bothered to tell me." He opens the door to let her in, "You'd be surprised how often things happen and everyone assumes I will somehow magically know or that someone else will tell me. I can quite often be the last person to hear anything important, come in, take a seat and let me get dressed and you can tell me everything." He motions Krystal to a chair and shuts the door before vanishing into his bedroom."
Krystal nods and goes to sit down in chair to wait as she folds her paws into her lap.
Benar is back after about five minutes, adjusting his vestments and sandals, he moves to the chair opposite her, "You best tell me all about it Krystal, what exactly happened?"
Krystal nods "I..have talked, best could with Cynthia on her side. She was in the orchards and..Lilymoore was there and started yelling at her suddenly and grabbed her by the shirt collar and that they were like nose to nose and told her to stay away from her brother and how something was her fault. My daughter kicked at her to get loose and..yes did kick Lilymoore and then told her sorry, but then Lilymoore kicked her back, punched her in the face, kicked her in the side and bite her ear...my daughter is in the infirm with a very bruised face and a black eye. A bandaged ear and from what I heard she passed out when this happen."
Benar's face darkens as he listens to Krystal's story, "I see... I cannot condone violence in the abbey, even the squabbles between youngsters. Thank you for bringing this to my attention," He stands up, so much for his quiet afternoon, "I will need to speak to Cynthia and then Lilymoore, I will not have this sort of behavior in the abbey. Is Cynthia in the infirmary now? If so I will go talk to her at once and then have Lilymoore brought to me. I won't have fighting but from your description it sounds as if Cynthia merely tried to stop Lilymoore from holding her and then Lily assaulted her."
Krystal says, "She is in the infirm yes, she said she got scared and kicked to get loose, she had not meant to kick Lilymoore to hurt her."
Benar says, "I understand Krystal, I am not blaming Cynthia in this but I do need to speak with her." He stands up and indicates Krystal to lead the way."
RW Abbey: Infirmary Recovery
This comfortable but spartan room has several small alcoves lining the wall. Infirmary bunks with resting and recovering patients lie in these alcoves, each cordoned off with a gossamer drapery of linen for privacy. The room is lit with oil lamps and the pleasing warmth of a small hearth fire. This room is kept quiet, except for the occasional snore, hacking cough or sniffle of its sleeping infirmary occupants.

Exits: [Back] to the Main Infirmary
Cynthia is lying down. She is bruised and has a black eye. Her ear is bandaged as well as she lies here quietly, not moving much since her side still hurts some.
The door opens and the Abbot strolls in, hands tucked into his habit sleeves, he looks around and then approaches Cynthia's bed, "Hello Cynthia, I heard about what happened, how are you doing?"
Cynthia frowns"I..I am hated. It wasn't my fault what happen and it was.....weeks ago." Her voice is a little shaky and sounds like she been crying off and on as she has that sore throat sort of thing going on .
Benar sits down on the edge of the bed and places a hand on her arm, "You are not hated, what Lilymoore did is wrong, she should never have assaulted you like that. What happened is in the past and is of no matter now. Caleb doesn't blame you, neither does Angela or myself or your parents. You are loved and welcome here Cynthia, and I will not allow anyone to do what they did to you within the grounds of the abbey."
Lacota enters the room in a huff, looking flushed. "Cynthia, Cynthia, I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner..." He folds his arms. "Benar... Krystal." He kisses his wife's cheek. "I heard what happened, Cynthia, I'm so sorry."
Cynthia sniffs "She said I was..just some insect and..I needed to s...stay away from her brother forever.'" Tears go down her cheeks, " And her uncle yelled at me, I..I didn’t mean ta kick Lilymoore she scared me when she grabbed me by the collar..w..when her uncle yelled it wa..and when Lilymoore got in my..f..face like that it made me have a flash back about Kyran, then she kicked me and punched me and bite me and wouldn’t stop till a couple abbey beasts made her stop..and I was s..scared." She frowns and looks over at Caleb who is sleeping in a chair near her bed and back to the abbot,"He..he said he doesn’t hate me..he is w..worried bout me."
Krystal hugs Lacota and sighs.
Krystal clears her throat" Caleb came in here earlier, He was the only one to calm her to get her to go to sleep. "
Benar reaches out to touch Cynthia's arm, "Ignore Lilymore, you are not an insect, you are most welcome here. Lily's assault on you will be punished and it will not happen again I can assure you of that. If Caleb wants to be your friend listen to him not his sister."
Cynthia allows him to touch her arm and sniffs as she wipes away some tears with her other arm,"He..he is my friend, want him to stay my friend....but why did she hurt me, I didn’t mean to..to kick her, I was trying ta get loose she had me by the shirt collar and pressed her nose to my nose and wouldn’t let go of me..I didn’t do anything to her or say anything bout about her."
Benar says, "I do not know, you did nothing wrong in kicking her as she had already grabbed hold of you. I shall be have... severe words with her and she will be punished. Now you rest up, your parents are here to look after you."
Lacota frowns some. "I'd like to have words with her, too, Benar, if that's alright..."
Krystal speaks "Me and Lacota can take turns being here, or she can be moved to our room if she feels safer there. " She glances at Cynthia "And I don't think Caleb will stop being your friend, even if his sister tells him to...I think you and him are very good friends"
Benar says, "Indeed Caleb is your friend, I do not think that will ever stop." He stands up, "Of course you can talk to her Lacota, if Angela says she is ok to move back to her room she can do so."
Cynthia nods," I..like him." She fiddles with the bandage on her ear.
Lacota rests a paw on Cynthia's shoulder. "How do you feel now?"
Cynthia frowns "My side hurts...and earlier I couldn't see too well out of this eye" She points to the black eye" But now I can see better, things aren’t blurry on one side anymore like was after..." She frowns "Was punched"
Krystal listens. she doesn’t know too much on healing but knows the healers ere have kept a good eye on her daughter.
Benar leaves Cynthia with her adoptive parents and slips out, he does not look happy.
Cynthia watches the abbot leave the room, it’s unclear if she will stay in here or maybe in her parent’s room, would maybe be more quiet out of here and healers could always check her elsewhere as well.
Krystal says, "Things will be alright Cynthia, don't worry dear"
Lacota sits down beside Cynthia's cot. "Krystal is right. We're here for you."
Cynthia frowns "And what if they are not ok...then what?"
Krystal says, "Things will get worked out I am sure of it"
Cynthia frowns as she goes to face the wall and slowly crosses her arms over her chest, "I...hope so but right now don’t believe it"
Lacota sighs. "Cynthia... You know we love you."
Krystal frowns a little " there is always rough times in life, but one can get through them, trust me"
Cynthia holds back a sob and coughs, "Just...trying to..make friends and..trust..and...guess some don't want me to be their friend."
Krystal pats her gently on the shoulder, unless she moves, " Get some rest, I promised I help Sister Renee with something." She then heads out of the room.
Lacota remains beside Cynthia. "I'll stay with you for now... I got one of my helpers to take care of dinner this evening, so I don't have to leave."
Cynthia nods, she is quiet till she asks "Why is it sometimes hard to make friends, when one wants to make friends?"
Lacota shrugs. "I don't know, Cynthia. Some beasts are less willing than others... I'm sure they have reasons... Not that they have an excuse to act that way, but still..."
Cynthia says, "I ..want to trust others, but it’s hard sometimes. I trust only a..small few here so far."
Lacota nods his head. "You trust Krystal and me, yes?"
Cynthia nods "Yes, I trust you guys..and Caleb and Abbot Benar...and lately I have learned to trust the badger that watches the dibbuns"
Lacota smiles. "Oz? He's a good beast, yes. There are many good beasts here, Cynthia. But it's okay to be careful who to trust. It's perfectly understandable, in fact."
Cynthia says, "like the..foxes I don’t trust them. It’s hard to trust...one can be tricked like my birth parents were like. I was last winter when was lost and alone"
Lacota reaches over and pats Cynthia's arm. "I understand, dear. I understand. I've been there myself."
Cynthia shurgs"Just..hard is all. I am not sure trust Lilymoore she is..mean"
Lacota nods again. "And you don't have to. I'd avoid her, for now. Though I imagine she'll be grounded for quite a while by her grandmother Angela."
Cynthia nods" Maybe it’s best to..avoid her then"
Lacota sits back in his chair. "I think that's the best idea, Cynthia, for both of your sakes."
Cynthia nods,"Yeah probably is"
Lacota smiles. "Listen up, while you're getting better, don't worry about anything, alright?"
Cynthia smiles a little and nods, "Ok..dad. I hope not needing to recover too long, I have my music lessons and I enjoy them"
Lacota leans forward. "I was going to ask you about that. Are the lessons good? Learning anything new?"
Cynthia smiles and nods "Notes and they can be high or low and there is ones A-G...and I never knew that, but I know where all of them are now by watching Oswald play and he showed me them on the harp and how to play better and it’s fun. Think he will also help me with singing.
Lacota nods. "I am pleased to hear that. You're turning out to be fine lass, Cynthia... Don't let any beast tell you otherwise, alright? Your Mother and I are very proud of you..." He then leans closer and says more quietly, "And don't tell any beast I said this, but good on you defending yourself. I can't officially condone fighting, but I won't say I'm displeased you defended yourself so well."
Cynthia nods, "Maybe one day I can play the harp and sing at a feast"
Lacota smiles. "I'd be happy if you did. Oh, I nearly forgot," The squirrel readjusts his glasses, "You tell Caleb here when he wakes up that I'm exempting him from Kitchen duty while you're still in here, alright? Tell him he can stay here however long he wants."
Cynthia smiles and then nods "Alright. Caleb is very nice..and caring. I use to think him annoying and now I like his company"
Lacota nods. "I know. He's a fine lad, you could do worse." He chuckles. "I like to see you two together."
Cynthia says, "He is a good friend and maybe one of my best friends...well maybe only friend cause their is you and mom, but your my parents and Benar is well...the abbot, he is there for all and helps me with reading and Caleb said he would help also" She makes a face "I don't like Boaz, he is..grumpy it seems and seems to always be in a hurry or maybe he just doesn’t like teaching"
Lacota hmms, rubbing his chin. "Boaz does take some getting used to. He's even grumpier than me, and that's saying a lot... Though, I don't suppose you see me grumpy all that often anymore, eh? You and Krystal went and made me get soft." He looks at Cynthia. "Not that that's a bad thing, though, eh?"
Cynthia chuckles a little.
Lacota smirks. "There we have it... I got you to laugh, finally. I don't like to see you unhappy, or in pain." He sighs. "I wish I could have prevented this from happening to you."
Cynthia sits up slowly to hug him "Its...ok you didn’t know" She yawns as she is tried and lays back down, and falls asleep in the next few minutes.
