Some Advice

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Scioto sits in his usual spot. Maybe he could have waited to come back but he decided it was best he get back to the village, besides after the past couple weeks he can relax better at his own home. He sips his ale and coughs slightly. Seems he may have a slight cold still, but nothing serious.

Nightbreath is sitting at the Chieftain's side, sipping a mug of melted snow. He lets the purity of the water invigorate him as he watches Scioto not with eyes, but with a sixth sense.

Scioto quietly takes another sip of ale and for the most part has been quiet, perhaps thinking on the past couple weeks.

Nightbreath doesn't need to be a Seer to know something's up with Sci. "You are troubled, Chieftain?" He inquires quietly.

Scioto doesn't reply, least right away, to the question. First he finishes his ale then he speaks, "The past two weeks have not been too well and before that some beast destroyed my office and I have yet to get things back in order at the office. It's been cleaned and repairs have started. Then the weather has been annoying and there is.." He stops again and seems unsure of what to do "There is Astra."

"Do you require my counsel in any way, Chieftain?" Nightbreath offers. "I am more than willing to dispense advice." He reaches unconsciously for a pouch at his belt, where his bone dice are.

Scioto answers, "It would seem one problem was dealed with, wasn’t told how and whomever broke into my office seems to have not returned. I am unsure whether to look for them more or just not worry about it. The only other thing is.." He shrugs "Feelings, guess could say and weather to speak further to Astra and what are Blisa's feelings on Astra. Maybe just not worry on it either, Astra lives in the village if she still chooses to."

Nightbreath nods, taking this in. "I can lead a detachment of your guards to hunt down the perpetrator if you so wish. Personally, unless something was stolen, I would let it go for now unless it happens again. As for Astra...I cannot say. Follow your instincts--your heart. "

Scioto nods, "The only thing taken was some gold. but it can be replaced. The desk and bookshelf can be rebuilt, nothing else was taken. I have much to think on when comes to Astra..I know not her feelings" Yes she mentioned them..just when he was passing out!..So Scioto didn’t hear a reply from Astra at the time." I should speak to Blisa as any decision would also affect her, not just me"

"Aye, that would be wise. Blisa's feelings are...unpredictable, at times," Nightbreath says, without any kind of disapproval in his voice. "I imagine if you didn't consult her first she'd be quite upset."

Scioto nods again, "True...part of me says make Astra more a part of my life, another part says no your just have pain again one day if you do."

Nightbreath pauses, choosing his words carefully. "There is no peace without risks," He finally says.

Scioto raises an eyebrow at this and quietly thinks on the words, "Perhaps, we will see. I do know I..love Astra and tried to tell her but can't say it was the best time or if I managed to get the words out or not clearly, I..did not ask later on if the words or heard or a reply was given or not"

"Then you will not be able to find peace until it is resolved, I imagine," Nightbreath murmurs. /I wonder how this will play out.../ he thinks to himself. He pulls himself back to the present. "Anyhow," He sets his mug down with a decisive thud, "Speak to Blisa before taking any more actions in that direction. Marry in haste, repent at leisure, and whatnot."

Scioto blinks at the words, "Who said anything on..marrying anyone." He mutters slightly, though maybe it’s possible but for now he is unsure. "But yes I will speak to Blisa once I get home, that is best and tell her my feelings for Astra"

"Merely an ancient saying of my people," The black-furred Seer explains. "At any rate, do as you see fit, Chieftain." He sips more water.

Scioto starts to ask something and then stands “I will be at my cottage, good day” He then heads home; he needs to talk to Blisa.
