So Much Fer A Little Rest
Dirt Road
Mossflower - Dirt Road -------------------------
Sunlight bathes the road, and majestic forest trees rear up on either
side of the narrow, dusty ribbon. Various leaves and acorns are scattered
across the road, though the road is traveled often enough that few
wildflowers have had a chance to sprout. Still, summer's warmth, rains,
and sun have eased a few scrawny blossoms from the ground, and glimpses of
color dot the roadside. To the north, a building stands, simple yet
well-built. Southwards, as well, a magnificent structure rises against
the horizon.

Zork needed the fresh air and a chance to get out of the abbey and away from the forge he had been non-stop working at making metal pieces for the bell tower and started a metal frame for the poles if need as well, his paws were a little sore now, and he has had little sleep on top of all this.
Aster is on the road, along with a couple rats and they are fighting a young badger maid, the cat fired off an arrow in the direction of the maid.
Zinnia barely sidesteps the arrow; it slides across her side, ripping her cloak some. As one rat gets close she narrows her eyes and kicks it in the chest sending it flying backwards, the other raises his dagger and goes to stab her in the shoulder.
Zork frowns and draws his sword as he comes upon the fight; he looks between the cat and the two rats and goes to slice at one of the rats quickly.
Aster glares at the badger, “You have no right to interfere with my work! I should interfere with your life!” With that she aims an arrow at him and fires.
Zinnia eyes go wide, her distraction causes the one rat to get a stab in her shoulder, she growls and manages to yank the dagger out and throws it at the rat, instantly killing it, the other is cut deep in the chest by Zork and also dies.
Zork eeps and ducks the arrow which sinks into the tree behind him, he frowns and looks over at Zinnia and then Aster.
Aster smirks and aims another arrow at Zork, “You badgers are so annoying, my boss knows you I think he’d..LOVE to chat with you or have your head I am sure, or was it another badger’s head he wanted?” She chuckles, “Then he has plans and is even now getting what he most wants. See he is a slaver and so am I”
Zork watches the cat, "You will not get away with whatever you and your boss as you say are up to and if you really are...a slaver, my advice, leave this area."
Zinnia sits against a tree holding her shoulder where one of the now dead rats stabbed her, she watches to see if the cat fires the arrow or leaves, she looks towards the woods as if she rather leave and not stay here.
Aster rolls her eyes, "Whatever, you know what my boss has mentioned you, I think he have more fun fighting you unwounded" She lowers the longbow and goes to walk off, "May want to help the lass before she rushes off, road not safe you know" She smirks and walks off into the woods, she has a campsite to get back to.
Zork starts to follow and stops, he glances at Zinnia and shakes his head, he walks towards her, "I best get ya ta de abbey" He places his sword back on his back and goes to help her up.
Zinnia frowns, well she hasn't seen one of her own kind for a while, and she allows the help up, “I...." She backs up "I can walk myself, don’t need help" She grumbles and walks towards the abbey.
Zork blinks, "Sumthing I said?....Hey kid wait up!"
RW Abbey: Entry
You stand on a grassy sward between two cottages. To the south you see a small, calm pond. To the north lies an open space where the Abbey has its feasts in the warmer seasons. To the east is the Great Hall, a massive structure that rises far above the abbey walls and is completed with large towers that pierce upwards into the sky. The main building is completed with a large, iron banded door that would allow one into the Great Hall.
The blanket of snow is replaced with the vibrant greens of spring. Newly sprung flowers and young shoots dot the path. They hold a promise of color and enhancement. The earth is relatively dry here, and the soil rich for growing, but muddy patches of dirt still can be found. Many Abbeybeasts can be seen tending to the gardens, though some are content with just being out and about, enjoying the warmth of the virgin sun and the pleasent weather. Dirt pawprints are tracked upon the clearing's surface, serving as witness to the fact that the majority of Abbeybeasts are caught up in the "spring fever." Most will will do just about anything, or make any excuse to be outside, eager to watch as spring colors emerge in scraggly clumps.

Zinnia walks herself to the abbey all the while holding her shoulder tightly, she trips once and when a guard offers help they get a glare that clearly makes them back off, she walks a few more footpaws inside the entry before dizziness and tried footpaws get the best of her, she drops to her knees and her paw slips off her shoulder as she passes out, yeah she probably should of let someone carry her but she refused.
Zork gets to the entry and after placing his weapon in the storage area he sees her pass out and frowns as he goes over to her, "I TOLD ya..ya needed carried” , He checks her wound and gets a clean cloth he has and applies pressure to the wound, he looks around for a novice or anyone who is not finishing up dinner right now.
Zinnia is barely awake and the pressure on the shoulder wound hurts, she growls low and slaps at his paw.
Beatrix looks up from her book at the sound of the entering badgers. She springs from her chair, wide-eyed, and scrambles to help. "Mercy! What happened?!" She says.
Zork sighs, "I be tryin' ta help ya lass”, He keeps the pressure on the shoulder wound and looks at the vixen, “A couple rats and a cat on de road, de cat had a longbow and got away, de rats died...and she needs a healer"
Zinnia would slap his paw again but it is keeping it from bleeding worse, she frowns and looks at her surroundings as she is half awake now and probably close to passing out fully.
Flicktail comes jogging over with a couple Abbey guards "Friend Zork...how may I help?" The white fox, having had a report has his blade with him to defend the abbey.
Beatrix nods to Zork, as she stoops to put a comforting paw on Zinnia. She looks up when Flicktail jogs over. "This beast needs a healer, sir."
Zork looks over at Flicktail, "Ya can call the guards off, not needed fer this, thar be a cat with a longbow on de road, well woods now but had tta get the lass here"
Flicktail tells one guard to give a warning to the Sparras, the other to fetch a healer mouse "Aye...." He blink blinks "Zork...that be a badger..GEL “
Zinnia blinks, wait foxes and starts to tense up and goes to shove Zork, but that is not too easy probably and goes to stand only to fall backwards and frown weakly.. "No..won't go..not..gonna" And she passes out.
Beatrix frowns a little, scooting back as Zinnia attempts to rise and fails. She anxiously waits for the healers to arrive.
Zork frowns as the younger badger tries to get up and catches her as she falls backwards, its then the healer comes and tends to her shoulder, he nods to Flicktail, "Aye, " He lets the healer tend to the badger maid as he looks at Flicktail "I was takin' a wee walk outside fer..fresh air and saw de fight, thar is two dead rats on de road..one she killed"
Flicktail asks, "Were that bad rats? I'm sorry if I am not doing me job good enough" He looks disappointed in himself.
Beatrix furrows her brow, watching the healers work on Zinnia's shoulder.
Zork says, "Ya can't be everywhere Flicky...ya needed inside de abbey not outside on de road, thar hasn’t been trouble much so why look on de road even, fights happen though usually its vermin fighten vermin, not sure what was a goin' on fer sure"
Flicktail says, "So..so this weren’t my fault?"
Beatrix says, "It's all so senseless..."
Zork sighs and shakes his head, he watches the badger maid be carried to the infirm by a couple otters and looks at Flicktail. "Flicky..not all it be ya fault, ya think too much is ya fault"
Flicktail looks relieved "I..just want to do good Zork.." He smiles weakly to Beatrix
Beatrix can't help but giggle a little at Zork's comment. She clears her throat to disguise the laughter. "He's right, though... you're just one beast. You can't be everywhere at once."
Zork looks between them and starts to head to the direction of the pond.
Flicktail says, "Zork... I wanna talk with ya..are you ok?" He waves Beatrix over “Want to Join us?"
Beatrix nods and scurries after them.
Zork stops in his tracks and looks back to Flicktail, "Talks..bout wot?"
Flicktail says, "About us..Zork I am sorry I hurt yer feelings, I didn't mean to..I didn't mean things to SOUND that way"
Beatrix listens quietly, ears low.
Zork folds his arms over his chest, "Ya said we were not friends...when we have been fer a long time, I AM ya friend and hope your mine, I would help ya if ya were ever in trouble and even fight with ya if bad beasts came after ya, if ya were hurt I get ya ta a healer, I know some healing enough a get a beast back here but not like sewing much well...not good nuff stayed sewed"
Flicktail offers Beatrix a sympathetic look "I don't always say things right" He tells her, then looks to Zork "I know Zork, that’s why I said I'm sorry “
Beatrix decides it best to stay out of the conversation for now, and so just nods softly.
Zork walks over to Flicktail, at first looking annoyed "Ya know wot fox, ya..." He then grins and messes up Flicktail’s headfur and chuckles loudly, "Ya be forgiven Flicky, we be friends fer always!!"
Flicktail says, "Yes always and always..maybe we kin go to the Firepit and roast an apple for Beatrix"
Beatrix mmms. "Ooh, yes. An apple sounds lovely!" She smiles.
Zork shrugs "If de cooks let us have apples, I suppose a night off from de forge be ok, I did get a lot done fer de bell tower"
Flicktail smiles "I think we can get some apples..shall we go to the firepit? “
Beatrix nods. "Sounds like a plan to me!"
Zork grins "Sure I meet ya thar I have flint ta start a fire'”
RW Abbey: Firepit
This is a small strip of land between the pond and the orchards which is bordered on one side by a portion of the Abbey's southern wall. This particular section, while well-built and sturdy, is obviously much, much newer than the sections to either side of it. The ground is clear of almost all grass and weeds, and is somewhat uneven, still bearing deep ruts and impressions that have not yet been worn away by the rain. The center of this area contains a large firepit lined with flagstones and encircled with log benches.

Flicktail smiles "Zork will you show me how these flints and steels work?”
Beatrix finds a place by the soon to be lit fire and sits down.
Zork places some trigs, some moss on the firepit and has the flint stones, flat black stones he slides together near the moss and trigs, after a couple slides of the stones a spark is formed, he blows on it and fans it with his paw, he places more moss on it and a larger fire starts to creep over the larger logs as he leans back and grins.
Flicktail yips in surprise seeing the sparks "Can..can All smiths and badgers do that with stones? “
Zork chuckles "Other beasts can too...start a campfire that be, me and Ozzy knows how ta make a campfire, and I be sure others know how that’s been outta de abbey or travelers as well, good skills ta have"
Beatrix laughs a little, watching Zork make the fire as the two chat.
Flicktail looks to Beatrix "Do you know how to make sparky stones? “
Beatrix nods a little. "I've seen beasts use them before... but I fear I don't know much about them."
Zork chuckles and yawns, he rubs his his wrist a little and frowns slightly as he listens to them talk, "Ya can roast de apples now"
Flicktail goes to retrieve some apples "Get the fire nice and hot....I will get apples”
Zork nods
Beatrix waits patiently.
Flicktail returns in like 3 minutes with a bag of apples and some sharp sticks, "Here we go now”
Zork smiles as he yawns, he is tried from working all day, then the walk and fight, he ends up falling asleep by the firepit letting the two foxes talk alone
