Slaver Attack Part 2
-This takes place shortly after Slaver Attack Part 1. Same group of slavers, just different place and different target.-
It's a beautiful late afternoon with white fluffy clouds meandering across the sky and a warm, gentle breeze rusting the leaves of the trees that are scattered here and there along the dirt path as it snakes its way through the woods. The imposing walls of Redwall Abbey are visible in the distance but that does not guarantee one's safety. Siobhan, fresh from a good lunch purchased down the road aways, is cautiously making her way towards the abbey, hoping to find a place to stay for the evening. She has a brown pack on her back which appears to be empty and no weapons are visible on her person.
While the vermin slavers would usually be more cautious, they only see an unarmed ottermaid, so they take a direct strategy, stepping out onto the road. They consist of four beasts, a rat with two flails, most likely the leader, a fox with a two-pawed sword, a polecat archer, and a ferret with two daggers. The rat steps forwards, one flail spinning in a dangerous arc through the air, " 'Ello there riverdog, how about you come with us, eh?"
The rat's request is, of course, absurd, but Siobhan is heavily outnumbered. "I'm good, thanks though." She avoids eye contact with them as she attempts to skirt around the group and continue down the road, a bit faster now.
The fox, the biggest of the four, steps in her way. "Uh uh, I don't tink so," he says, showing a surprisingly full set of gleaming fangs, "Yer comin' wit' us, wheder ya want to or not..." the ferret chuckles to himself, and the archer quietly nocks an arrow to his bow, readying it.
When push comes to shove, Siobhan does the first thing that comes to mind, whether or not it turns out to be a good idea. In this case the glittering set of teeth on the fox present to much of a temptation. She @#!*% her paw back in a perfect right hook and swings as hard as she can at his face twisting her body as she does so in order to draw more power from her hips. Her tail sticks straight out behind her for balance and she yells as she swings, praying to make contact.
The fox recoils back in pain, his sword falling to the dirt path as he reaches up to hold his injured jaw. Her victory is short-lived however, as the archer immediately has his arrow pointed at her heart, and the other two are moving behind her. The fox yells from behind his paws, "I'm gonna kill ya yew little..." he trails off as he groans in pain. The rat chuckles, "That was quite a punch miss, but unfortunately, I kinda like him, and now you've made him /and/ me mad." he grins.
Siobhan is absolutely livid. "I didn't do anything to him he didn't deserve." She grinds her teeth in frustration and glances around to take in the position of the rat and the ferret. "What do you want from me?! I dinna have anything! Look, my bag is empty, see?" Siobhan rips said item from off her back and holds it upside down. There is no way out from the circle of vermin and the archer would most likely kill her if she made a dash for it.
With the fox still writhing and cursing, the leader rat steps towards Siobhan, setting one of his flails on the ground so he can reach out and grab her shoulder, "Oh, my dear, we're not bandits. We're slavers." he chuckles as he tries to pull her towards him. He looks to be about to say something else when and arrow slams into him, in his ribs just under his right arm. He looks quickly over to the archer in pain, but the polecat still has his arrow on the string, unfired. What they don't see is the cloaked otter standing on the road behind them, having just fired said arrow.
The arrow gives Siobhan the moment she's been waiting for. In one violent motion Siobhan blocks the rat's arm with a right outer block and immediately steps forward and follows through with an elbow aimed at his eyes. Or nose, whatever it hits.
Jas, the rat leader, is caught off guard by the elbow that slams into his eyes, and between the pain from the arrow and the elbow, he falls to the ground. The archer turns to fire at the other otter, a shot that the hooded otter barely dodges, moving towards Siobhan. Now the ferret moves in on the otteress though, his daggers at the ready. The fox has not yet recovered.
Siobhan is ready for the ferret. Placing her weight on her back paw, she preps a roundhouse kick aimed for his soft, squishy side, right below the ribs. If this fails she'll probably go down backwards depending on how the ferret defends himself.
The ferret, having seen how Siobhan defended herself against the other two, and barely dodges the kick, jumping back. The cloaked otter pauses to fire an arrow, which keeps the polecat off of him long enough for him to tackle him down to the ground.
Siobhan takes advantage of the ferret's lack of balance when he jumps backwards by landing and flinging herself at him, the aim being to take him down. She is successful at this and as soon as she has him on his back she finishes him off with a violent punch to the face. Bones crack as she makes contact and the ferret's eyes roll back into his head as he blacks out from the force of the hit. Siobhan, stunned at what she's done, jumps off the ferret's stomach and stares wide-eyed at the carnage around her before slumping to the ground in shock.
A dull thud is heard off to the right as the pommel of Tristan's knife cracks down on the polecat's skull, knocking him out too. He rises, sheathing his knife, and steps over towards Siobhan, pushing his hood back onto his shoulder. He's about to say something when he sees the fox, blood dripping from his mouth, get up, wielding one of the rat's flails, getting ready to swing it towards the otteress's skull. "Watch out!" he calls, drawing his knife again and lunging forwards to push Siobhan out of the way, raising his knife to block the blow, not heroic (or stupid) enough to block the blow with his own body when he could attempt to block with the knife.
Siobhan is too weak to prevent herself from being pushed over and falls sideways with a yelp, rolling over and coming to a stop next to one of the ferret's daggers. She grabs this and stands up, checking to see if she can be of any help to the stranger who has come out of nowhere to help her.
The knife shatters as the heavy metal head of the flail collides with it, and it goes flying from the otter's paw, but the fox is also knocked off balance. From his position laying down on the dirt road, Jas, the rat, drags himself up, pulling the unconscious ferret with him, making for the ditch at the side of the road as fast as he can crawl. He slaps the archer as he passes, bringing him around too, and he joins the retreat, albeit at a slightly faster pace.
-There were one or two more poses left in the rp, but I seem to have lost them somewhere. It was basically just a quick introduction between Tristan and Siobhan, and then they go back to the abbey. Hope you enjoyed.-
