Settling Back In Part Three

Characters: Kentar, Aikuen, Will, Flicktail, Fae

Location: Abbey Infirmary

Kentar looks to Zen slowly. "What?" he asks.

Zen squeeks, "Are.. are you ok? You don't look very ok..." He then thinks about what he's saying. "I mean, I know.. your not ok, but.. I-I..."

Kentar rubs his bandaged paw over his brand and sighs. "I'm fine I guess."

Zen shakes his head a little, "But... why are you worried about Aikuen? He's.. your friend, right? I think so." He sits up, now that the cot was messed up.

Kentar shrugs. "I really don't know if he is my friend or not." he says.

Zen thinks a moment, then smiles. "I think he's your friend.... Heh, I just think he's confused.. I mean...." He looks both ways, "He's trying to raise Orph.... Hehe, that would confuse anyone I think. Sometimes, I don't understand that rat..."

Kentar sighs and shrugs. "Look. You're too young to understand why I don't think Aikuen is my friend.."

Zen tilts his head a little, scratching one of his ears. "Ohh... I see... Is it one of those parent things that kids shouldn't know?" He thinks a moment and scratches his head. "Uh... could you tell me?"

Kentar Sighs. "Look. I was captured, and tortured for days. Then two days after I get back I learn that who I thought was my best friend would have actually left me to die with that fox without even thinking of coming after me. Thats not what friends do. Friends are there for you when you need them. I needed him and he wasn't there. What kind of friend is that?"

Zen thinks a moment, then blinks. "Was... he... he scared?" He didn't know what much else to think or say. "Ooh.. I see... Maybe... he's.. he's not a friend.. but.... well.... maybe he went to go get help?"

Kentar sighs. "I don't care if he came to get help. All I know is that otter would have left me to die. I just. I just. Don't know."

Zen squeeks softly and nods a little, then thinks. "Oh, he would have came at the last second, just like how me dad came for me! I thought he was never going to come when I was a slave, but.. he came right when they were going to finish me... Uh.. maybe.. he just needed er... time... I don't think he wanted to leave you though.."

Kentar sighs. "I don't care if you would have come for me or not. I don't know you. And you don't know me. So...I just don't know about Aikuen anymore."

Aikuen comes in bearing with him a jar of soup. He stop at the door and frowns, and goes to his bed and sits down.

Zen tilts his head a little and squeeks softly. "Uh... well... ma... maybe talk to him.. I.." He turns to see Aikuen enter, starting to get off the messed up cot he was sitting on. "Er..."

Kentar shrugs. "If he really was my friend he'd not have left me there..." He then looks up then looks away from Aikuen.

Aikuen is till frowning, "If you are talking about me... I expected you the most to get why i didn't come..."

Zen's ears flatten against his head as he looks around. He takes the sheet off the cot and wraps it around him as he watches silently...

Kentar sighs and keeps looking away. "First thing I hear when I am well enough to hear, is that I'd have been left to die. By my best friend..."

Aikuen nods, "Oh aye... but if i were you... i would want you to not save me... for a good reason... i thought you understood..." He shakes his head, "I just didn't say 'Oh kentars gone...Yah... im not gonna save him, because im like that'... I thought about it a long time... i made a rational decision..."

Kentar sighs. "A decision to leave me to die." He says. "If Mayeul didn't push the fox instead of me and if he had have pushed me instead, I'd have died wondering where my...friends...were. You don't just come out and say 'Oh no, I wouldn't have come for you.'" he frowns. "You could have said like. I couldn't have because I was hurt, or maybe a 'We couldn't because we didn't know where to go' instead of say something you knew would have hurt me. Get out. I don't want you here anymore." he frowns, rolling away from the otter, fighting back more tears.

Zen finds it safe to keep quiet and under the blanket.

Aikuen shakes his head, "If i were you... i would have been glad that my friends didn't come... and get themselves killed... If i am ever captured... DO NOT COME LOOKING FOR ME!" He sighs, "You know i never lie about stuff... I told the truth..." He crosses his arms and says in rebuttal to the stoats last statement, "Make me..."

Kentar says nothing for a few moments. "You won't have to worry about me not looking for you. I'd rather help whoever captured you." he says bluntly, just facing away, eye closing as he pulls the covers over himself.

Aikuen sighs, "Listen mate... I know i was blunt in saying that i wouldn't come save you... But I've already said i was sorry... What more do you want from me!" He grunts and moves over to the side of the bed "Listen... Come on mate!...Ung..." He tried to stand, to go over to the other bed, but he forgot his crutch and falls to the floor.

Zen squeeks a bit startled seeing Aikuen fall, so he goes over to get the crutch to help the best he could. He didn't want to see anyone get hurt.. or further hurt.

Kentar doesn't bother doing anything. And the only thing he replies to is the part of 'what more do you want'. "I want you to leave me alone and not to speak to me again. Tell Will that I don't want to be his brother, and that as soon as I'm better, I will not be going back to moledeep." he says. "Now leave...me alone."

Aikuen shoves the crutch away, "NO! I can do it!" He stands up and puts weight on his leg. What sounds like ripping comes from the leg. He walks over, with a huge limp, and goes over to his bed, "No Im not gonna tell him anything...I am not gonna leave you alone!" He drops to the bed, and places a paw on his open wound, "Im sorry mate! Come on! Talk to me..."

Kentar totally ignores Aikuen now, just laying there, pretending he's asleep or something.

Aikuen places the paw that was on his knee, on Kentar, "Mate...Alright... Apparently you are too thick headed to get it... I didn't want to come... because..." He looks away then back, "It was for Will and Fira... There yah happy... I have a reason to live now... And i know you wanted to kill yourself not less then a few weeks ago... But now you have a reason to live... If i died it would just be terrible to them... There... now you know..." He removes his paw, leaving blood where he touched it.

Kentar sighs but says nothing again. Though if Aik listens closely there's some sniffling and a bit of the standard crying noises from the stoat, not seeming at all happy anymore. Not even angry, just upset.

Aikuen has to lean back, "If i was captured... i would not let you kill yourself die,... live with Garnet... be happy... live your lives without me...I would wish that, on you..." He blinks a few times and shake, his paw not stopping the blood flow enough.

"Never leave anybeast behind." the stoat says after a few moments. "The first thing I was taught when I was still a soldier. I would have went after you, even if I had a family. You just don't care. So leave me be because I no longer care either."

Aikuen says, "I cared...I... went after you... but was ... stopped..." He leans forward, "Mate... Sorry... Should have gone after you... Help the group...There dead...No... should have..." He slumps, and mumbles something, then is silent.

Kentar didn't move or make any noise until the otter went Silent. "Finally...peace and quiet."

Since the otter has passed out, he tilts over the side and lands on the floor, with a large clonk, when his head hit, then a frump as the rest of him follows.

Kentar blinks a bit and hears the clonk. The stoat slowly sits up and looks around, seeing Aikuen on the floor. "Somebeast help!" he calls out. Healers rush into the infirmary and move Aikuen to a bed to start doing up his wound again.

The healers first work on his leg, where the muscle has sperate itself again, then a bandage around his head, as he scraped his head fur, and is bleeding there. They finish up and leave. The otter is still out of it, and is now sporting a black eye, bandage on his head, and a full splint on his leg. His mouth falls open, as he tries to regain consciences.

Kentar Sighs. "Stupid stupid beast." he mutters before laying back on his side.

Aikuen slowly comes awake, and moves a bit. Then he tries to move his leg, and grunts with pain, and awakes suddenly, and grasps his knee, but soon falls back again, as the blood has yet to return to him. He breaths heavily as he looks around, and sees Kentar, he reaches out and says, "Im...Sor...ry.." As he falls back to the bed.

Flicktail arrives back up with his daily run of Hotroot soup...this time he's brought a large pot with a ladle, and begins visting any sick beasts

Kentar slowly sits back up. He sighs and slowly reaches over to Aikuen's paw. "I'm sorry too...I...over reacted..." the stoat sighs and sits back, looking over to Flicktail. "Good...day."

Flicktail smiles broadly, the sword by his side, he seems to bring it as it cheers many a sick beast up to look at it, and touch it :wello were Kentar..would ye loikes some soup? build ye roight back up iyt wills

Aikuen has passed out again, and doesn't know about anything else going on.

Kentar turns the branded side of his face to Flicktail. "I'm fine...thank you though." He says, before looking back to Aikuen.

Flicktail Doesn't seem to be upset or even notice "as ye loikes.. good to ave ye back Lad..real good, if ye loikes later oi ken read ya a story

Aikuen mumbles something as he comes awake again. He blinks a few times and looks around the room, not recognizing anything, He says aloud, "Kentar?"

Kentar nods slowly. "Thank you Flicktail." he says quietly before turning his branded side of his face towards the fox again. "A story later would be nice..." Then he looks to Aikuen. "I'm here...I'm here.."

Flicktail nods "anything oi ken do just you tells me" he moves over to help spoon soup down an otter's muzzle, using a cool cloth to mopp the beasts brow

Aikuen looks to the noise, and says, "Im sorry... Should have gone for you... I should have... Sorry mate..." He rubs his eyes to try to bring them into focus. He leans back and rests, keeping his eyes on Kentar.

Kentar sighs. "Its alright Aikuen...you should have yeah...but I...I shouldn't have said what I said I guess..." he then looks to Flicktail again before laying back, turning away from the otter, A brand visible to

Flicktail finishes his soup round and rubs his paws "now....wot can oi does for anybeast?

Aikuen looks to his new splint, and feels the new bandage on his head, "What happened... Ill i remember was talking to you... then... i wake with a pain in my knee..." He scratches his head, but winces. He looks to Flicktail, "Do you mind getting me my crutch..." He points to it, in the middle of the floor.

Flicktail looks overto the healer mice to see if it is allowed, and to Kentar

Kentar looks back to Flicktail and cracks a bit of a smile. "I wouldn't mind a bit of cheese or something if you have any around." he says. Then he looks back to Aikuen. "You passed out from lack of blood. Next time otter, use the crutch and not your wounded leg." he chuckles.

Zen has disconnected.

Flicktail says, "ahhh..cheese eater"he moves over to get some fine Jack cheese

Aikuen blinks, "I did... I don't remeber that... at all..." He feels the new splint, "Why would i walk on me leg... I know if i walk on it... it wont heal correctly...Thats... not right..." he rubs his eyes.

Flicktail moves to get the crutch looking at Aikuen "oi can carve ye amuch noicer crutch fitto ye lad if ye loikes

Kentar chuckles a bit at Aikuen. "Of course you wouldn't. Hit your head." he says before sighing. "Look Aikuen. I am sorry about what I said to you.

Fae walks into the room her fur ruffled and there are deep bags underhey eyes. she yawns and sits on a small chair and puls out a large book " hello everyone" she yawns

Flicktail exclaims, "Fae me Luv! ello"

Aikuen shakes his head at Flicktail, "No thanks mate... Im only using this un' until i walk again..." He looks to Kentar, "No... im sorry mate... and if you don't want to be Wills brother... i tell him... and he will be mad at me... and not you..." He leans back. Talking allot with no blood, drains you. He looks to foxes, and blinks.

Fae bites her lip and reads her large book looking as though she is deep in thought

Kentar yawns and looks over, paw absently rubbing at the brand. "Good evening." he says to Fae before looking back to Aikuen. "I want to be his brother Aikuen. And I will be. But...I don't know about anything right now. I don't feel well. And I cant think right at the moment."

Flicktail smiles and leaves Fae to her reading if she wishes "wont some soup Aikuen..Hotroot soup elps restory blood oi ears

Fae looks up from her reading and smiles weakly at aikuen " what did you do this time?"

Aikuen smiles at Kentar, "Thank ye... mate..." He looks to Fae and chuckles, "I was being stupid and reopened a wound on accident...And i would love some soup Flicky..." He sighs and blinks, as the world lost focus again.

Flicktail smiles and ladles out extra shrimp for the hotroot soup

Kentar chuckles at the otter. "You always like soup you silly waterdog!" he chuckles.

Aikuen smiles dumbly at the stoat, "Cant help it... I was born that way... Thanks Flicky..." as he takes the bowl, but doesn't eat it at the moment, paw-eye coordination not at the best at the moment.

Fae chuckles and begins to cough violently

Flicktail will help spoon it into Aikuen's muzzle "don't spill me soup...

Kentar looks to Fae. "You alright?"

Fae wipes her muzzle and nods her head " just a bit of a cold, that's all. and lowers her head deep in thought again

Flicktail smiles and is quite smitten with Fae

Aikuen laughs "well quite moving the spoon! its going all over the place!" He blinks a few times, and it comes into focus, "Oh... well okay, that was weird..." He chuckles as he takes some.

Flicktail smiles and sits on his bed, spooning the soup..which is extra hot by the way...with Hotroot

Fae looks out the window "er...flicky, could i speak with you outside for a minute?

Flicktail says, "o course"

Fae nods and leavs out into the hall

Aikuen winks as best he can to Flicktail, "Go to it mate... i can feed myself now..."

Kentar watches Flicktail leave before he peers back to the otter. "Look Aikuen...I know why you wouldn't have come for me...and I'm sorry for what I said...I really am"

Aikuen looks to the stoat, "No... Don't be... Im sorry... Its my fault... when i flung that stone at him... it wasn't big enough to slay the fox... I... just needed to protect the rest of the group... My fault..." He sighs and tries to drink some of the soup, but has a spastic motion and it dribbles all over him, he grunts, and places the empty bowl on his bed, "Im stupid, aren't i..."

Kentar sighs and chuckles a bit, slowly nodding. "You are very stupid. You really are. But...your our stupid beast and I'd not change that for anything." he smiles a bit.

Aikuen smiles and wipes the hot soup from his chest, "Thanks... mate... Thank you... I'm really looking forward to us... at Moledeep... its... going to be fun..." He chuckles, but starts to blink again.

Kentar frowns and slowly sits up, going to standing, wincing. "Mmh...darn..." he hobbles over to Aikuen's bed and flops into a chair there. "Oww...ow. ow.." he sighs as it almost brings tears to his eye. "Aikuen...Are you okay?"

Aikuen has leaned back, and is beginning to breath heavily again, "Im... having a fever... Too much blood loss... Just need to rest..." Sweat is already beginning to form all over him, as he reaches out for the stoat, "Please... Im... Sorry..."

Flicktail says, "Sorry about at Aikuen, Fae were tellin me e good news"

Fae widens her eyes " GOOD NEWS! YOU THINK THAT"S GOOD? im leaving for martin's sake! you might not see me for seasons! and thats good!?" and grabs hold of a chair out of breath " forgive me"

Kentar looks to Aikuen. "Stop being sorry, because you've got nothing to be sorry about...I..." he looks over to Fae. "Something wrong?" he asks.

Flicktail looks and blinks at Fae "oi miss you but it be good because it be somein ya wanna do ye gets ta do....joinin e order be a wunnerfuller thing

Aikuen looks over to the foxes, but just blinks. He is having a fever, and sweat is now drenching him. He mumbles something, but smiles awkwardly.

Fae drenches a cloth and wipes aikuen's head and mimbles to herself

Flicktail is not real good at romace just yet

Kentar sighs and watches Aikuen. "You'll be okay..." he says before slowly standing and going back to his bed, yelping in pain as he walks, falling onto his bed.

Flicktail says, "wow alot of beasts taday are a bitncomfy"

Fae pours a cool glass of water for aikuen " you should drink lots of liquids and stay in bed if you want to get better. i can find some herbs to relieve the pain in your leg, if you want."

Fae exclaims, "William! how have you been?"

Aikuen blinks a few times and closes his eyes, "Im...Okay...Just stupid..." He smiles weakly to Fae, "Thanks... for the water... But no herbs... please" He takes the glass and drinks all of it, before leaning back down on his bed.

Kentar frowns. "Aikeun, take the herbs." he says. "Don't make them knock you out!" he grins.

Flicktail smiles moving from beastto beast cheering them up..letting them see and touch Martin's sword if they wish..mostly he goives out hugs

The rat stands by the door, he'd just came up to see how Kentar was doing again. He smiles at Fae's greeting, "I'm alroight I guess ..." he watches the stoat and otter curiously.

Aikuen chuckles and looks to Fae, "I guess i have no choice, ill take some... thanks" The fever is still with him, but its less severe right now.

Kentar looks over at Will. "Hey Will..." he motions the rat over.

Fae gets some herbs and makes a poltuce and rubs it on aikuens leg. "it might feel numb for a while and it might make you drowsy..but it'll help."

Flicktail watches Fae "ye be real GOOD at that

Will walks over to Kentar still listening to what the others are doing, "Yeah? What ya need?" he smiles at the stoat.

Fae blushes " thanks flicky. your great at making a beast feel better!"

Flicktail says, "well oi works at it..did ye notice Oi kin read now..some?"

Aikuen smiles a bit, and it does make you drowsy. He is snoring quite loudly after it is applied.

Kentar chuckles. "Later, when Aikuen is better. I want you to slap him for me...Okay? "he smiles, and winks.

The rat sighs a little, "What'd he do /now/."

Fae beams at flicktail " THAT"S GREAT!"

Kentar chuckles. "Walked without his crutch. Tore his muscle again."

Flicktail smiles and nods "oi be practizing ow to read, and oi Gets Benar to elp me wi big words

Will nods and smiles a little, "Fira know? If not he's sure t get a talkin' to when she does find out."

Kentar shakes his head. "She doesn't know, yet. But I have a feeling my brother will tell her."

The rat grins, "Of course. Though she already knows he's a stupid otter."

Fae looks to flicktail "well i better get...packing" and tears up

Kentar smirks. "Yeah. Every beast knows that."

Kentar looks to Fae. "Where are you going?"

Flicktail says, "oi be up to elp ya directly"

Fae smiles and sniffles "away....for a while"

Kentar tilts his head. "Why?"

Fae says, "to study...like a scholar....for a while...I need to learn as much as i can about mossflower's history and redwalll's too. but i can't get all that information here i need to get it...elsewhere"

Kentar Ahs and nods slowly. "Ah...okay." he nods.

Fae enters the room with a travel bag hanging from her shoulder "right, im all packed and should be ready to leave sometime tommorow."

Fae sits on a chair humming tune softly.

Will's been quiet all this time sitting in a chair next to Kentar ,while listening to and watching the foxes and otter. "You gonna be alroight, Pa?" he asks glad the stoat doesn't seem to be mad with Aikuen anymore thought he has no idea why that is.

Kentar has drifted off mostly but wakes up now. "Oh...Drat...Drifted off." The stoat sighs and yawns.

Fae yawns and opens another large book

Aikuen blinks a few times, as he reawakens. He seems better, but still sweating, "Im...Fine... Its hot in here..." He sits up a bit, but lays against the bed post, smiling a bit.

Fae smiles and dabs aikuen's forhead with a cool soaked cloth

Kentar looks towards Aikuen. "Not really. "he chuckles.

Fae asks, "how are things with fira?"

Aikuen smiles to Fae, "Thanks... She is doing fine... I saw her this morning... she is really excited about being married... Still haven't figured out anything more, than its going to be in the summer..." He sighs, but then glares at the stoat, "Yah well..."

Flicktail cleans up his pots and pans from his soup rin, and sits to join his friends with a smile

Fae Pours herself a cup of tea and sits by flicktail "thats good"

Flicktail smiles and gives Fae a nuzzle on the cheek.

Fae blushes and nuzzles flicky " i'll write letters to you while i'm gone"

Flicktail says, "oi kin read em now, and oi gonna learn ow to write..... is there anything ye'd like Fae?"

Aikuen laughs, "Alright Kentar... You win..." He smiles and looks to Will, with a confused face, "Oh...Hello! When did you get here?"

Fae shakes her head "nothing at the moment dearest, whend did you start reading?"

Flicktail says, "well Oi been practicing wi e Order..and well started readin just afore e sword came"

Kentar smiles and chuckles. "How about we trade?" he grins at the otter before looking to Will and then to the foxes.

Fae smiles at flicktail "great!"

Flicktail says, "Oi doesn't loikes carryin it but e beasts up ere..it seems to cheer em up"

Fae nods her head "of course it does, it's saved them loads of times"

Will's ears swivel about as usual listening to the others' talking. "Been here a little while. Soooo is it this summer or next summer?"

Flicktail says, "oi just don want any beast thinking oi believe oi be all at special..just because oi ave it...oi were...very honored"

Fae nuzzles flicktail "you are special, what with taking care of dibbuns and your friends and helping father abbot with his wife."

Aikuen looks to Will, "Er... This summer I hope, don't see why not..." He grins to the rattling.

Fae goes through a checklist of her bag stopping to scramble through the pockets to find and item. "right well i should get some sleep, long jornet starting tommorow."

Kentar looks to Fae and nods. "Have a very safe trip..." he smiles.

Aikuen waves to Fae, "Good Luck on your journey..." He grins.

Fae sets up a cot and falls asleep.

Kentar yawns and hrms. "So Aikuen...How are you feeling now?

Will's sitting between the stoat and otter just thinking for right now.

Aikuen nods, "Better... Still a little woozy... but i think the fever has broken... that is always good..." He chuckles.

Kentar nods. "Yeah...that is good." he smiles.

Aikuen smiles, "How is your headache... Kentar..."

Kentar shrugs and sighs. "Quite bad actually." he says. "Feels like someone just beat me over the head with an iron rod...like that fox did a few times."

Aikuen nods slowly, "Seen that technique before... did they make a medicine for it?" He asks.

Kentar tilts his head. "What? Getting bashed over the head with an iron rod?" he asks, chuckling.

Aikuen nods, "Aye... Causing maximum pain without killing you... I use my fists, not an iron rod though..." His eyes widened, and says, "I didn't say that..." He taps his claws, "I mean did they make a medicine for you headache..."

Will continues to sit quietly for now, just listening.

Kentar shakes his head. "Nah. I didn't tell them I have it." he says.

Aikuen tilts his head, "Eh? why not? I'm sure they could make an easy one for yah..." He scratches his head.

Kentar yawns. "Cause I don't want anything more then what I am already on. I mean I'm on lots of things for just the pain of my body. That makes me tired already. Don't want anything else."

Aikuen nods slowly, "Ok... I can understand that..." He sighs, "What about... after your off the potions... And you still have the headaches...Will you take some then?" He yawns and starches.

Kentar nods. "Yeah. I will." He says. "After I'm off what I'm on already."

Aikuen smiles, "Good!... good..." He almost dozes off, "Oh... Sorry...I'm still tired after what happened... not as much as you... but still!" He chuckles.
