Setting Sail - Stairs and Stars
Characters: Aikuen, Sebastian
Location: Western Shore
They've all traveled another day or so down stream. Sebastian has been kind enough to pull the cart himself, managing with only one paw. They've set up camp for the night and Sebastian has gone close to the sea for some badgery alone time, laying in the sand and watching the starlit night. Now, he never told anyone he'd want to be alone, so he is expecting someone to come up and talk or something.
Yep. The badger is right. Cause here comes Aikuen. Aik wanted to get some swimming in. Late night dip. Before he sees the badger in his path. Well. Might as well say hello. Want to be nice and everything. He walks over and plops in the still warm sand, "Hey Seb" he mumbles. In case the badger is asleep or something.
Seb hums a bit and nods slowly in greeting to the otter. "Evening, Aik.' he replies with a smile, sitting up slowly. He doesn't seem as big when he's just sitting and slouching. "How's your evening going?"
Aikuen nods and smiles a bit when the badger acknowledges him, "Evening Sebs. And its been alright. Just doin my thang whenever i can. And just doin whatever... What about you?"
Sebastian hums a little bit and nods before shrugging his shoulders with a slight yawn. "Oh me? Not much. Watching the stars." he nods. "Listening to the ocean." he hums a little bit.
Aikuen nods a bit going on to lean on his paw. Leaning back, "Ah i see." Looking up at the stars and then huming, "Er. Why? I mean. They are nice and all."
The badger looks up and shrugs a little. "Because I don't have anything else to do right now?" he chuckles a little bit in response, nodding. "Can't really read in the dark now can I?" Sebastian hehs.
Aikuen chuckles and nods, "Oh duh. Well. Cant help me for asking. Cause. I dont know. I always thought badgers look to sky for guidance from their badger brothers and sisters.... From your past lives..." he hrms.
Seb hums and then laughs, shaking his head. "Eh. Some do. I don't get why. They say the stars guide them. I just think they look pretty." He smirks a little bit. "So. Anything I can help you with?" he asks.
Aikuen nods, "Well. Cant argue with that." he then shrugs, "Not really. Was just going for a l light dip in the ocean before i head off to bed. Then i saw you... See where im going with this? OH. Well. I do have something to tell you."
The badger arches an eyebrow and tilts his head. "Hm?" he wonders quietly. "What's that?" The badger asks, turning to face the otter a little more as he listens.
Aikuen leans back and looks to the sky, "Well. Were gonna make it to Alcadia pretty soon. And With a cart full of well. You know. Not Woodlanders. It might get a little hairy. Also. On the other end. I dont want my family hurt be anything... Not Woodlander. If you get my drift..."
Sebastian blinks and rubs an eye. "Uh...no, sorry." he chuckles a little bit. "I don't. If it were earlier in the day, I probably would." he hums. Half asleep badgers are pretty dumb. Sometimes they'll think stairs and stars alike.
Aikuen sighs. As he hoped he wouldn't have to explain it, "I don't want them to be hurt by woodlanders cause he wave Vermin. And i don't want to be hurt by Vermin. Cause we are Woodlanders. Now do you get it?" he asks.
"Oh! I see." The badger chuckles quietly. "Look, Aikuen." he starts. "If anyone decides to attack you, or your family....and friends." he pauses with a smile. "They'll deal with me and my sword." he nods. That sword is almost as big as he is. "Don't worry. If anyone sees you with me, I'm sure they'll run away screaming." he smirks. "I am bigger then the average badger."
Aikuen nods, "Good... Good. Now... Onto another matter at hand..." he goes to looking at the ocean again, "My wife and i are trying for another kid... And if push comes to shove. Protect her if at all possible. The others can handle themselves just fine. Even she can. I just don't want our child to be harmed. If she is, you know."
The badger brightens up and smiles. "Congratulations, Aik!" he nods and reaches out to pat the otter on the shoulder with a chuckle. "Sure I will. I'll do whatever I can." he nods slowly. "Or die trying...which is rather unlikely but hey, you never know." he nods. "So...out of curiosity, are we expecting any trouble?" he asks.
Aikuen smiles and shakes his head, "Well. We are trying... We... I still dont know if she is or not. Thats the thing" He almost belly's over at the pat. Knocking the wind out of him, "But aye. Thanks. That would make me feel a bit better..." he then shrugs, "No. But can never be to careful about things. WE will be out in open water. So pirates and the like."
The badger ahs a little bit and chuckles slightly. "Right. Well. If we do run into problems, I'll make sure that everyone...is safe." he nods. "Was there anything else? You know, incase you forgot?
Aikuen thinks about for a second before shrugging, "Not Really. There is a little thing. But im sure it will be alright..." he chuckles as he stands and stretches, "Well. I better get to bed before the best spot is talking by Ella." he hrms and waves at the badger before he leaves, "Night Seb. Good to have you onboard!" And he gone.
"What little thing?" Seb pauses before watching the otter go away. "Hm. I'll have to ask him later then." he shrugs a little before laying back down and looking up to the sky, closing his eye and listening to the ocean.
