Restlessness Part Two

Characters: Kentar, Aikuen, Fira, Byronn, Flicktail, Will, Martha

Location: Redwall Abbey

Great Hall

Aikuen is sitting at the a table, a nice tray lunch in front him. Another separate tray is next to him, its for another beast. And since he has yet to learn the ability to carry two trays with one paw, he is going to eat his first before taking the other one to her. He hums while he eats, and his crutch is behind him on the chair.

Kentar hobbles down the stairs with the help of his cane and the help of a squirrel. Once at the bottom he smiles to the squirrel who vanishes back up the stairs. Quietly he makes his way to a chair near the fire. "Good day Aikuen."

Aikuen smiles to Kentar, "Afternoon, Kentar! How yah fellin'? Sorry i didn't come and see you yesterday, it was... kinda busy..." He chuckles.

Kentar chuckles and shrugs as he slowly limps to a chair before sitting down, resting his cane across his lap. "Sore. Leg hurts. But other then that, better then I have in days." he smiles. "You?

Aikuen nods his head a bit, "Im okay... My leg is still immovable, and its going to be longer to heal, because... of the...*Ahem*... Inflammation i cause it two days ago..." He scratches his head and smiles again, "Well i can see that you can move now! That's great!"

Kentar nods slowly and sighs. "Your an idiot, you know that?" he chuckles before shrugging. "Yeah. I can move. Some. Its hard though. I don't like having to use a cane. Will have to for the rest of me days now. Or so they think."

Aikuen has gotten used to be calling stupid, but he thinks its funny now. He laughs, pushes his tray away, and turns so he can see the stoat more clearly, "Eh? what do you mean... Now don't do anything stupid, like i did..." He eyes the stoat up and down.

Kentar nods and chuckles. "Maybe not yet, but you will, I'm sure." he grins before yawning. "So. Where's Fira?" he asks.

Aikuen pulls her tray near him, "The bunk room, as far as i can remember... i was getting her this tray of food, but i can only carry one thing at a time...But now, I can take this to her." He taps the tray, and begins to get up.

Kentar chuckles and nods. "Oh? None for me? Pfft." he grins and laughs, sitting back into his chair. "Hehe. I'm sure she'll like that you didn't drop anything."

Aikuen frowns, "You can move! Get your own dern food!" He busts out laughing and says, "When i get back, if you haven't gotten anything yet, ill help yah..." He balances the tray in his good paw, and the crutch in his other, and slowly make his way for the stairs.

Kentar laughs. "nah, I'm fine." he smiles watching the otter move. "You'd better not drop that." he smirks.

Fira is just by chance appearing down the stairs, met by the view of Aikuen with food and can just see Kentar past him "Having fun today?" well they look laughy enough.

Aikuen looks immediately to Fira, and smiles, "Hey, Were just having a very slow food fight... And he was winning, so i was just about to chunk this tray of food at him, when i though it would have been better use, if some pretty beast ate it instead..." He winks at her, then chuckles, "Seen Will anywhere so i can give this too him!" He laughs, while keeping the tray balanced on his paw.

Kentar grins. "Lies...lies!" he laughs. "The food was for you and he had no intention of throwing it at me." he grins.

Fira smirks back, going to take the tray off of Aikuen "I'm not sure who to believe now. The flatterer or Kentar, either way apparently I get to eat the food though so I think I win"

When the tray is taking off him he says, "Ha! No paws!" And gives her a quick kiss. He laughs, "Aye! I was brining you some the of the Honeyoatcakethings...Come join us! Ill get something for Kentar in a moment." He puts his good arm around her, and leads her to the table.

Kentar grins and watches the two before laughing. "No Aikuen, I'd just bother one of the novices to do it." he chuckles with a grin.

Fira kisses the other otter back quickly with a little grin forming "They were nice those things" allowing herself to be led back to the table, putting the tray back down and taking a seat with it, smirking to Kentar "Making the most of the locals then?"

Aikuen sits next to her, and pulls his tray that was pushed away earlier, and now snacks on the bits of food that are left. He just keeps on smiling, "Well since im labeled as a resident, i have the some of the same duties as novices... but the less i have to do, the better!" he chuckles.

Kentar laughs and nods slowly before tilting his head. "I thought you lived at moledeep and not Redwall?" he says.

Fira keeps an eye on the both of them as she settles back in her chair and eats, still smirking a little "Don't really strike me as an abbey beast either but I guess it's a bed for the night"

Aikuen shrugs, "I became a resident...Way before i moved to Moledeep, or even met Will... They don't really bug me to do my chores, cause im apparently mean." He frowns and scratches his head, "I told them that i moved... but they haven't done anything to my room... so i still use it when im here..." He sighs, and shoves a piece of bread down him.

Kentar nods and chuckles a bit before nodding. "Well. At least it sounds nice. Good place to stay if something happens to moledeep." he nods.

Byronn walks into the great hall and sits himself at the table smiling hapily

Byronn has left.

Fira tilts her head "You? Mean? Never. Big softy at heart" grinning a little before she glances to Kentar "Yeah, dry, warm, safe and free. Good if you've got no where else you'd rather be"

Aikuen kisses her when she said that thing about him, "Just don't go spreading that around... I have a reputation to keep!" He chuckles, as he pushes his now empty tray away from him, "Its nice enough... But i still like Moledeep better... Its a lot more open to what we can or cannot do... Will does makes rules based, on what he perceives as right, but it allows certain things... that they abbey wont..." He thinks about it for a moment, then laughs

Fira grins once more at the kiss "I'll try but I don't promise anything" she gives her food a quick glance, pick out a couple more things before she has to look back up again "Didn't think the abbey was all that strict past the whole fighting weapons thing?"

Aikuen shrugs, "There not... The only time they really got on to me for doing something... is that i brought my Knife inside... Other then that i've had no problems..." He sighs, "I only really moved because Of Will... He doesn't like it here, says that there too easy on everybeast... and they let everybeast, who seem peaceable, but sometimes are not... which is true, i guess..." He take a glance at her food, and begins to time it, to swipe some.

Swiping food secretly from Fira doesn't work so well since she has to constantly watch him anyway. She's nodding along with him when she sees the movement and looks down at the paw, going to give it a little whack with her paw, laughing all the same "Oi, not my fault if you already finished yours"

Aikuen rubs his paw, "Hey!... Im a big beast!... need to keep up my strength..." He places his head on the table, and reaches out for the food, but it is just out of reach. He coughs and hacks mockingly, "Ug... Need... Food... *Caugh*... not... eatin'...in three...*hack*... days." He rolls his head to one side, and stick out his tongue, like he is dead.

Fira laughs at her, going to bounce a little bit of cake off of his nose once he's 'dead' "That's really not going to work on me"

Aikuen tries to keep on the act, but when the cake is bounced off his nose, he laughs and 'lives' again, "Letting a pour beast to starve like that...tsk tsk...hahahah!" He takes the bit that bounced, "This 'ill just have to do for me!" He pops the whole thing in his mouth, "So how have you been... My, Wife-to-be!"

Kentar grins at the two otters and chuckles a bit. "Love! True love!" he grins.

Fira chuckles quietly and goes to give Aik a little kiss on the nose before giving him a whole one of the little cake square things "Well I'm amused now" Kentar gets a glance when he moves again "Very true, so how's Garnet?"

Aikuen wrinkles his noes when he is kissed, and smiles, then he takes the square cake, and breaks it off in hunks so he can eat it in bites, "Well, good to hear!" He laughs and takes a few bites.

Kentar smiles and shrugs a bit. "She's quite well." he smiles. "She's been I think settling in with the idea that I wont be dead any time soon." he grins

Fira smirks once more, nodding once to Kentar "It is a good thought. Glad you're getting better too. Out of bed already"

Aikuen smiles, "Yep... he is mobile now... Soon we will be off to Moledeep! And prepare for the summer planting, least i will anyways..." He shrugs as he pops off a few more bites.

Kentar smiles a bit and motions to the cane across his lap. "Will have to use this for the rest of my life but yeah, I'm moving." he smiles.

Fira tilts her head faintly to the cane "Well it could be worse anyway. I'm sure it'll get better with bit of time" little smile goes to Aikuen too "I'm sure we can all help out"

Aikuen nods, "Thanks!... I have a bunch of carrots to plant... because there is a particular stoat... who just wont shut up about it!" He laughs and kisses her before asking, "What sorta vegetables do you like, and ill make sure to plant more of them then others!"

Kentar laughs. "I wonder who that is.." he grins. "I just like carrots...is there something wrong with it?" he grins.

Fira chuckles, finally finishing off her food just after the kiss "Oh nothing wrong with carrots, very nice...onions. Rather like onions myself. Odd perhaps but they have that really strong smell and we had lots of them growing around the place back home...kind of get a taste for them"

Aikuen nods, "Okay more onions it is! So im plating everything that i can get my hands on... But i need more; Tomatoes, onions, carrots, and leeks..." He thinks about it for a moment, "if...if we add all of our favorite veggies together, we can make a soup!" He chuckles, and puts an arm around Fira, now that she is done eating.

Kentar laughs and grins. "As long as you don't make it Aikuen, I'm quite happy with soup." The stoat smiles before sitting back in his chair and yawning.

Fira settles back against the arm, getting nice and comfy again as she watches the others, tilting her head a little at Kentar before she glances back to Aik again "Not good with the soup making?"

Aikuen frowns at Kentar, "Obviously my lack of cooking skills precede me..." He laughs and shakes his head, "Soup is easy, just toss stuff in to boiling water... until its good..." He just then had a thought, "Ill be back later... Im gonna get some of the seeds, before the gardeners leave for the day..." He sighs and gets up, letting go of her, "Don't go nowhere's! Ill be right back!

Kentar chuckles and grins. "Haha. Sorry Aikuen, I'm just pullin' yer rudder." He smiles before yawning again. "So Fira. How have you been?"

Flicktail sidles into the room, smiling about his as he see's the gathered Beasts

Fira smirks faintly "Well, pretty good with the whole engaged thing and it's nice to have a bed to sleep on for a few days...I'm going to go with good."

Flicktail says, "oh my look at all e otter" he chuckles taking a seat and just pretty much grinning."

Kentar looks over at flicktail. "Hey there Flicktail." he smiles before looking back to Fira, nodding. "Yeah. I agree." he chuckles. "Well. I'm happy for both you and Aikuen." he smiles.

Will walks in from the kitchens and having no idea what's going on he sits down at the table to watch the others.

Fira sends a brief nod to the fox soon as she spots him sitting down before she has to glance back to Kentar again, smiling back "Thanks. Seems like a lot of trouble to plan a wedding but I'm sure we'll cope."

Flicktail doesn't remember Fira and smiles to her..offeringher a polite bow with a rather regal swish of his fluffy tail.

Kentar looks over to Will. "Hey Will." he smiles before glancing back to Fira. "Ah. I wish I could say I knew the feeling but uh...heh. I haven't asked Garnet to marry me yet." he smirks.

Will waves a little at the stoat and continues to watch the others.

Flicktail says, "Garnet be e name o a pretty stone"

Kentar looks to Flicktail. "Garnet is also the name of a wonderful stoatmaid." he smiles.

Fira smirks faintly at the fox's bow, fancy. Kentar's mention of Will gets her to spot the rat though "Hey, just missed food but I can get more" keeping an eye out for response to that as she replies to Kentar "I figure when the time's right you'll just know it."

Flicktail asks, "well then ther be two pretty things wi e name aye?"

Will shakes his head, "Ate already."

Kentar chuckles at the fox and nods. "Yeah." he smiles before peering towards Fira. "Yeah. She's sort of mentioned it already. Since you two were getting married. She said how nice it must be." he chuckles.

Flicktail cackls to himself, "mum would never ave believed ow noice a fox ou tured out, she's be SO ashamed," he grins

Fira smirks at Kentar "Well at least you know she'd say yes then. Just a matter of what you want now."

Will chews on his lip some. "How's Pa's leg doin'?" he asks not having had the chance to ask the otter himself lately.

Fira nods to Kentar again "Well, you'll know when you know. She just has to be patient" she glances back over to the rat again "Seemed to be getting about alright earlier. He should be back in a bit"

Kentar laughs and nods. "I know I will." he smiles. "So...Can I ask what might be a bit of a personal question?"

Fira tilts her head a little at the stoat "Well, sure, alright. What is it?"

Kentar smiles a bit. "Well. Why did you agree to marry Aikuen?" he asks. "I'm just wondering."

Fira pauses for a moment, think of a good way to word it "Well I love him and sure it might not be that long since we've been together but ultimately I can't imagine loving or spending the rest of my life with anyone else and I don't want to imagine it."

Kentar nods and smiles a bit. "Well. Good on ya." he smiles, falling silent as he starts to think.

Will continues to sit and watch the others.

Fira nods once more to Kentar, smiling once more "Well thanks. Hope you can work things out too" she settles back into her chair after that, glancing between the pair of them once but she just has to keep an eye on them. Silence doesn't make her uncomfortable, she lives in it.

Kentar nods. "I'm sure I can." the stoat smiles. "I'm just wondering if I should." he says with a sort of frown.

Flicktail is just sitting listening, the fox quiet :)

Fira looks curious now, little concerned too "Well what's stopping you?"

Will is still sitting at the table watching the stoat and ottermaid talk.

Kentar shrugs. "I don't want to put her in danger. I escaped a fox who was bent on killing me. He might come back to get revenge and I really don't want to put her or any family we have in danger."

Flicktail says, "Kentnar, so long as ye be ere..e champion o redwall won't let no arm come ta no beast....not if e kin elp it"

Byronn walks into the great hall and pulls up a chair at the table " anba hor might come after you?!" he squeeks.

Fira scratches the back of her head uncomfortably "I won't say it can't happen but we can just hope it won't...or that next time we get a bit luckier and kill the thing. Can't really worry about all the ifs or you never end up doing anything" Byronn she doesn't spot but she does give Flicktail a nod "Well, um, we're not staying here I don't think..."

Kentar looks at Flicktail. "I wont be staying here as much as I would like to. But...yeah. Thank you." he smiles then looking to the young mouse. "Maybe. I don't know."

Flicktail says, "ye knwow ot we needs do is works tagether and stop is fiend."

Kentar chuckles at the dibbun. "Brave mouse you are." he smiles.

Will waves at Byronn and smiles a little at his remark.

Martha wanders in, quietly, a bucket in one paw, with cloth in the other. She sets about starting to wipe down the table, mindful of anyone sitting, and trying to keep out of the way

Will moves out of the hedgemaid's way, "Hi Miz Martha." He smiles at the hedgemaid. "You need any help with that?" he asks wondering why she's cleaning the table and not one of the order beasts.

Flicktail says, "If oi ave to..if e be urtin good beasts... specially round ere, we must elp beasts..justloikes ay elp us when we needs it"

Kentar chuckles. "I already have a hiding place, but thanks." he smiles some more, looking up to Martha and giving a bit of a smile.

Flicktail says, "oi don't loikes killin..but if e leaves no choice."

Byronn exclaims, "I could help fight him! i know how to use a stave well...a small one anyways and i even made a sling!""

Martha shakes her head. "N-no. Thankyou, William. J-just needs a qu-quick wipe b-before lunch... How are y-you t-today? St-still need to hear about y-your trip..."

Fira gestures towards Flicktail "There we go. A solution so we don't have to worry anymore" Byronn gets a little glance a second later "I think you may still be a little young. He's a very big nasty fox"

Kentar shakes his head. "Fighting isn't the answer. I'll have a talk with the big nasty fox when I see him next and get him to leave me alone." he smiles.

Flicktail pats Byronn on the shoulder "e be agood lad, but Oi needs somoen ta protek me dibbuns if oi aveto go face a fox..

Will nods a bit, "Oh ok. Our trip didn't turn out too well ... not much t tell about really. Uh .... h-how've you been?"

Flicktail says, "aye Kentar..a talk"

Fira raised a brow to Kentar...alright maybe good role model but she sure hopes he's not serious.

Byronn lowers his head "oh.....o-ok" and then smiles "i heard that your learning to read"

Martha dips the cloth back into the bucket, gives it a squeeze, and then back to wiping. "Oh, I've b-been w-well... W-went for a sh-short trip too. W-well, a w-week, nearly, b-but we didn't p-plan to go for that l-long... Just to the m-meadows. B-back at the Abbey f-for a while n-now?"

Kentar smiles and chuckles, looking towards Fira, still smiling.

Byronn ponders deeply about something.

Fira frowns slightly but she'll ask another time. She finally looks round, glancing to Will and Martha, rather delayed nod going to the hedgehog as well.

Flicktail says, "Oi just don't wont no beasts 'armed."

"Oh, ya went t th meadows? Not th best place t go anymore with that vermin fox near there. But you made it back alrioght, that's good," the rat nods to himself, "We'll be here a little longer still I think ... but once Pa an Kentar are better we'll be goin back home. Moledeep still needs a lot of work done. You haven't met Kentar have ya? Course not since ya just got back an he's been in th infirmary since we got back ... Kentar's the stoat over there," he points to him, "He's by big brother now. An that otter there is Fira. She's gonna marry Aikuen an be my Stepmum real soon."

Byronn looks up " the meadows? isn't that...." swallows " near....here?" and pulls out a copy of 'Maps of mossflower'.

Kentar looks towards the hedgemaid and gives a little wave before looking to Fira. "So Fira. Any advice on what I should do with Garnet? I mean like...dinners or something."

Martha blinks as beasts are pointed out, looking up to offer a nervous smile and small wave of paw to each of them. "V-vermin fox? Y-yes, we were f-fine. No p-problems a-at all... Um, n-nice t-to meet you..." She offers, to the others.

Fira takes a moment to notice Kentar's looking at her again so just catches her name before the question, shrugging a shoulder "I don't know...sure, have a nice meal out with her. Give her a present of some sort perhaps. Compliments, that sort of thing"

Will nods, "Yeah, th vermin fox. But you're fine so he must a been s- wait that was a week ago ... yeah no wonder you were fine ... he was too busy fighting us an dragging Kentar off t know you were there, he nearly killed Kentar ... Good thing he didn't get you." The rat chews his lip, "Kinda odd though, thought you didn't leave th Abbey?"

Kentar smiles and nods slowly. "Thanks...I'll...make sure to do those sorts of things." he smiles before looking to Martha slowly, watching her for the moment

Flicktail says, "ye dibbuns do not understand somethin...if ye try and elp..and the Fox gets you..e get's power over me..and us....Oi knows ya wantsto elp..but oi woudllikes ya to elp in a way at be good."

Martha shakes her head. "I d-don't often. And I d-didn't... F-for ages, I didn't... B-but, have done t-twice n-now. G-gathering p-plants and th-things. That's wha-what I used to do b-before I came in here... D-didn't even s-see any signs of a f-fox out th-there. N-not going th-that way f-for a while now th-though..." And she looks up, shuffling a little uncomfortable, paws wringing the cloth, as she realises Kentar's watching her.

Aikuen comes back in carrying several pouches on a belt with his good paw. He has splotches of dirt all over him. He looks at the belt and says, "I think i got enough seeds now... Well... Hello?" He espies a ton of new beasts in the room, and waves the belt to each in turn. He laughs and shakes his head as he hobbles to a seat next to Fira, "I was only gone a few hours, and the room suddenly explodes with beasts!" He sits down and kisses her, leaving a bit of dirt.

Byronn hugs his pa, "Flicky? are you really going to leave and fight that fox?"

Flicktail says, "when we ave things set up o course."

Kentar frowns and looks to Flicktail. "No offense Flicktail, but that other fox would make short work of you if you went to kill him."

Fira leans over to kiss Aikuen back quickly, hasn't noticed the dirt of course "It was a rather gradual explosion. Get some good seeds?" eyeing the pouches.

Byronn nods his head " Don't get hurt out there, Fae won't be to happy bout that."

Flicktail says, "oi said, Kentar, we woudl go as a team...oi didn't get Martins sword to wotch good beasts be ,armed."

Kentar watches Flicktail, frowning. "Flicktail, no matter how many beasts you take, lives will be lost if you go. And yours would almost certainly be lost...please...trust me and don't go after the fox."

Will isn't sure what to say about Flicky's going so he turns to Martha, "... umm ... Did ya have a good time out at th meadow?"

Flicktail says, "we will see wot Martin thinks best Lad....oi were a shield otter fer many years and ad many battles."

Kentar nods slowly. "Its not a good idea to set out to kill some beast. No matter how evil he is...Please don't throw away your life Flicktail. Please..."

Byronn yawns and stretches and hugs his pa once more and waves goodnight to everyone.

Fira frowns faintly at the stoat "Kentar. Beasts are going to be lost if the fox lives and by the sounds of things in terrible ways. With a large enough group and perhaps a lot of archers the beast could probably be taken down without much trouble. He's clearly a big danger to the area if everyone seems to have heard of him. Better to deal with it after proper planning."

Aikuen nods and tilts his head at the dirt, "Um... Oh, Aye! One of the gardeners handed me this pouch, and started naming vegetables... I stoped paying attention... but he just kept rambling on... and on... and on...But i good amount of for our veggies." He glances to other beasts before back to her.

Martha nods. "P-plenty of th-things ga-gathered... It w-was a nice t-trip t-too..." She's sat, now, bucket beside her chair. "Sh-should b-be off to v-visit the sh-shore s-soon, hopefully... Um, t-to 'Halyard', I th-think."

Flicktail looks at Kentar like he was daft "oi won't kill if there kin be any choice Kent."

Kentar frowns. "He wont listen to anybeast unless they're offering to kill another for free. If your going after him, even to talk, I'm going with you." he nods.

Will nods, "That sounds nice." He looks over at the others having only been half listening to them. "How's your leg doin', Pa? You able t walk alroight yet?" he asks the otter.

Flicktail says, "well at be wot oi wants more beasts ta goes wi us."

Fira sighs faintly "I don't think a beast who likes to torture others is going to be saved by a chat but give him the choice perhaps. Just be careful with it and stick with the group" she looks back to Aikuen again, little tired smile offered "Sorry...Guess we'll toss them all about and see what grows then"

Kentar nods. "Then its settled. I'm going too." he stands without his cane and tries to walk properly to the stairs, only falling flat on his face after wincing. "Ow..."

Flicktail says, "oi did not says now."

Kentar nods slowly as he slowly tries to get up but he falls back onto the ground. "Well. I wanted to try to walk without my cane. Figured I'd be no use without a sword in me paw. So..." he winces a bit, slowly hobbling up.

Flicktail says, "when we eal..oi wanna get at Nidlor King to elp too..strenth in numbers."

Aikuen nods to Fira, "That's what i was thinking... I think we have more seeds then dirt patch at the Tunnel...And my legs is just Fine Will, I still wont be able to move it for a couple of weeks, but im okay." He sighs and taps it. He notices the Kentar fall, best stay out of it.

Martha has a little attention of the others, perhaps trying mostly, to block that talk out. She finds herself starting to get up, when the stoat falls down. "Sh-should somone n-not h-help him..?" . She nods to Will, though. "I h-hope so... I've n-not seen the ocean b-before..."

Kentar slowly gets up and limps back to his chair. "Never heard of that beast..sorry..." he shrugs a bit and rubs at his sore leg.

Will chews on his lip not liking this one bit. "Stupid stoat," he mutters to himself scowling at Kentar. "He's fine," he says, "Very stupid but fine.

Fira smirks faintly at Aikuen "Well then we'll just have some left over to keep for another time" she briefly glances to Will as Aik speaks to him, looking curious about the stupid stoat comment but when she looks round to Kentar he's already up and she's missed him falling over entirely

Martha sits back down then, watching the stoat move back to her chair, with a little frown as she listens to the rat. But, she supposes he must know the stoat very well to call him a 'big brother' at least. "Um... I s-see..."

Aikuen puts his arm around Fira, while listening to the others not wanting to get in, lest he does something stupid.

Flicktail pats Kentar's paw "oi notgonna do anything rash, oi just ask ye do e same."

Fira settles against Aikuen's arm once more, giving him a quick glance and another smile before she looks back to the others again. Trying to catch up with the other conversations again. Aik will just have to poke her before he says anything else.

Will relaxes a little, it looks like Flicky will keep the stoat from getting himself killed. He falls silent again just watching the others

Flicktail says, "well oi try, be crazy how a beast tells ME notto get killed an en runs off by imself."

Martha excuses herself, making to return the bucket and cloth to the scullery.

Flicktail looks around.

Will looks over to Flicky, Kentar and Fira are both asleep as is Aikuen. "You won't let Kentar do anything stupid if he goes, will you?" the rat asks.

Flicktail says, "not if oi kin elp it....but then oi got Dibbuns sayin they gonna grab a pike an come elp...."

Will nods, "I want that fox stopped as much as anyone but I /don't/ want to go back there again or t fight him again ... not if I don't have to. In a few more days Pa and I were going t go back home an Kentar was going t go with us ... don't know if he will now or not."
