Odd Morning(Marek's Revenge TP)
Leon has decided to sleep here, mainly because the idea of falling asleep near the snake is still a little creepy and he has had a long week. He was up late last night talking to Lee and would of fell asleep in the infirm till Jacen picked him up and threw him out of the infirm, his back still hurts from it. He moves and tosses in his sleep, "..W.what..nooo..gotta..gotta help..he..what" He mutters more.
The lobby of the Ferrevala Inn has been kept clean by the current staff. The damage done by Hudson and his goons are long forgotten. This early in the morning there are very few beasts here save for those checking out of their rooms and those of the front desk staff. Surprisingly Bandit is here behind the front desk. His fur is cleaned up and he is wearing a new blue vest. It's a bit tight, and a sliver of fur shows out above the waist, but he looks a far cry from the mangy beast he was the other day. Liam Grey is here as well. The obese pine marten gives the fox tips and tricks as well as orders as he trains him on the front desk.
Leon tosses some in his sleep, not that he has gotten much lately. He mutters some more. "Yeah herbs..herbs taken to him...he did that.." He moves again and shakes his head, "Help..him...help do what..."
The marten raises an eyebrow to Bandit. Now with their final beast checked out of their rooms the marten nudges the fox in the shoulder to take care of this. "I know he's your friend but...if you leave him here like this he will start to run off customers. Take care of it before anyone else comes down to see him." The fox nods his head, being one to know what it is like to have bad dreams, especially those of past deeds, the fox is hesitant to wake the mouse up but, orders are orders. Leaving the desk behind the brown furred fox trots over. "Hey, Leon...Leon." He leans forward to rock the mouse's shoulder, perhaps not so gently.
Leon groans as he is shaken some, "Why..are you..shaking me...I will help..help show him path"
Bandit shakes the mouse with both paws now, "Leon! Leon wake up, come on Leon." He finally flicks the beast’s nose with his claws in an effort to wake the sleeping mouse up. Bandit is tempted to ask the mouse which of his own healing potions he took before falling asleep. It sounds like a doozy of a dream.
Leon groans as he wakes up muttering "Why you do that Martin?" He blinks and rubs his eyes and sees Bandit and frowns "You’re not Martin"
"Sorry, I've got too many foxy charms and dashing good looks to be martin." The fox chuckles, offering a paw to help the mouse to his feet, "You look like you were having a nightmare there. That's what you get for eating sweets before bedtime I guess."
The door opens suddenly... and there is Lee.
Leon allows the help up and sighs "No..not a nightmare, well a couple images looked like.." He shakes his head and frowns "That look on his face..." He sighs and sits in a chair still the dream very clear in his mind." Supposed to lead him on his...path."
The fox hasn't spotted Lee yet. Instead he focus on the mouse with a raised eyebrow, "Sounds like a doozy indeed. Don't worry, it was just a dream..." The fat marten behind the desk however replies to Lee's appearance, "Well good morning. Need any help there otter?" Liam says with a smile.
Lee nods. "I were lookin' for Leon. Somebeast tol' me 'e were here." Lee peers around. "It would seem I did find him after all."
Leon shakes his head "Not just a dream Bandit, it was Martin and he showed me some things, and me and others are supposed to help.." He seems slightly surprised of what he saw before he was shaken awake.." He had...brown.." He blinks at this, no maybe it was an odd dream from stress and worry like that would happen in a million seasons,.." Brother?"
Bandit gives the mouse an incredulous look. "Oh, yes. A martin dream. I remember Oz had one, the mouse told him to take the dibbuns to somewhere safe...where they all got kidnapped by Hudson." The fox growls. Redwallers, they can defend their walls from everything but superstition. His ears perk up when he hears lee. "Ah...good morning lee.
Lee nods. "Good mornin', Sir..." The otter ignores Bandit.
Leon frowns at Bandit and walks over to Lee" Lee..am I glad to see you. How is Zork?"
The fox raises the other eyebrow. "What's wrong with Zork?" His friendship with Lee might be on the rocks right now but that doesn't mean he can't be unreasonable...he thinks. How does he keep running into all these awkward situations. He looks to the pine marten for help but somehow Liam has disappeared to give them all some privacy. That lousy weasel.
Lee sits. "I gave 'im the herbs ye gave me, last night an' this mornin'. I think 'is breathin' be better now, least that's wot the 'ealers tol' me. I came 'ere soon as I could ta let ye know, Leon."
Leon nods "That’s..That’s good, he's in bad shape and I was right on what it was..Martin let me see him" He frowns remembering clearly," He was holding his chest when he collapsed Lee it..it didn’t look pleasant, he’ll be in the infirm for a while"
Bandit crosses his arms, he coughs impolitely, "Excuse me but...can some beast /please/ tell me what in the heck is going on?" His tail twitches irritably like a cat.
Lee stares at Bandit. "If ye must know, Zork nearly died, an' 'e would've, too, if I 'adn't come 'ere ta ask Leon for 'elp last night. Ye 'appy now?"
Leon nods "I can confirm that but don’t look for Zork to ever be like he was before, what happen will...change a lot" He looks at Lee, unsure whether to tell him what else he was told or not just yet.
Bandit looks shocked to say the least. And then angry, "Yes! I must know! Zork is my friend blast it!" The fox growls. Calming himself he replies, "I...didn't know about Zork. I'm sorry."
Lee frowns back at the fox. "Oy, that's because ye never bothered ta ask me. Ye ain't bothered ta ask me anythin' lately, actually. Ye didn't even know I'd been arrested a couple days ago... Or that I risked me life ta rescue Leon before that." The otter looks at Leon again. "Aye, I know all that already, ye tol' me last night, no more warrior stuff. He ain't gonna take that news well, ye know..."
Leon shakes his head "No, not at first no he most likely won’t but...Martin did show me something but not sure if it’s true or I help make it become true or what."
Bandit looks stricken. He supposes he has latched on to the fact that Lee has defected to the enemy like a dog that won't let go of a bone. The fox opens his mouth to reply and is for once speechless. With a defeated sigh he replies, "Yeah...I guess I haven’t..."
Lee nods at Bandit. "The fact is, Bandit, I've been plottin' an insurrection inside the Abbey for nearly two weeks now, an' wot I've been doin' 'ere in Ferravale an' at Camp Willow is *tryin'* ta find more 'elp, more willin' fighters. If the Long Patrol comes, or if it doesn't, I want all of Mossflower ta be *ready*, ta fight, an' retake Redwall! An' I'll be leadin' the revolt inside the Abbey, as is me duty as Head guard... But ye never gave me a chance ta explain meself fully..."
Leon looks between them and sighs," Lee, when the fighting starts you have to make sure the abbot is ok and whoever is in the infirm is ok as well, they are somewhere safe or well-guarded"
The fox is stricken again. "Never gave you the chance?" His eyes become narrow slits, "All it would have taken is one simple sentence of, 'hey! I'm a bleedin double agent working to undermine Marek.' Sorry that was so hard..." The fox crosses his arms, "I've played the role of spy before too Lee...I would have understood perfectly." The fox seems to keep his tempter in check, His tail fidgets however to the underlying hurt he is feeling. Why wouldn't the otter tell him? Maybe he didn't trust the fat goofy fox? "And the mouse makes a point..." He says simply.
Lee nods at Leon's suggestion. "Aye, I will...per'aps the Attic. Nobeast ever goes up there." He glances at the fox again. "At the time, an' even now, this must be kept completely secret. If Marek learned the truth, I'd be in grave danger. I'm sorry, Bandit, but at the time, I actually wasn't plannin' ta tell anybeasts at all... Dorarose were the first I planned ta tell, though Flick actually found out first because I accidentally ran into him here in Ferravale..."
Leon nods "Just keep being careful, I have a feeling we will get the abbey back, somehow just dont know when or how." He sighs" Sorry distracted on what else Martin told me, well the main thing he said..concerning..well concerning Zork"
Bandit doesn’t reply. He's still made but...at least his friend isn't actually a traitor. Well, he is, but a traitor to the bad guy which is good...not bad and...blast, spy work is confusing even to him. The fox stands there, arms still crossed.
Lee peers at Leon. "Oy, wot are ye talkin' 'bout, mate?"
Leon answers speaking quietly, "I..think it’s meant to be after he recovers. Martin said to help him as a fellow..well Brother and he was in these" He pats his own abbey robes, "I dont know if it means give him that as an idea or...well he said path to help him down." He chuckles some at a thought, "Be some getting use to if it’s true..Brother Zork..heeee"
Bandit leans back a bit, "Brother Zork?" the fox snickers. The image of Zork in robes. "Now that be a sight to lift depressed spirits." Bandit shakes his head, "Now if you excuse me...I need head back to work. Take care Leon...Lee. Also a word of advice. When I was spying out the Leftear camp a season ago, my only regret was simply not stabbing him in the back when I had the chance. Do keep that in mind with Marek." With that the fox turns back for the front counter.
Lee looks puzzled. "Brother Zork? Are ye serious?" As Bandit starts to exit, the otter nods. "Aye, I'll remember that, mate. Thank ye for the advice."
Leon shrugs "I don't know, either way He's no longer going to be a warrior, but yeah that sort of surprised me as well. I means hanging up weapons and not being a warrior, then again he can't fight anymore. Martin did come to me and think he came to others to, as fellow brothers and sisters...he had to of come to some others, maybe Lorimis even, he said to help Zork and I think others should help him too he will need family and friends there for him "
Lee crosses his arms and leans back. "It will be quite an adjustment, I should think. Certainly, I never expected it."
Leon says, "I guess we will find out, Martin isn’t always 100% clear.." He chuckles "Maybe he'll talk to you sometime" He is joking really it seems right now." And you can ask him, hey is Zork gonna be a brother in the order?"
Lee hmms thoughtfully. "That would be somethin'... Y'know, I only ever 'ad one visit from Martin, quite awhile ago, about me brother Rowan... Though lately, I 'ave been havin' some dreams 'bout 'is Sword...but Martin ain't been in any of 'em yet..."
Leon gets a serious look on his face now as this is mentioned, "Lee..maybe you should go somewhere quiet and try and see if Martin will speak to you, he doesn’t always come visit when your asleep..try somewhere away from other beasts like the pond or..maybe elsewhere quiet, it may be important Lee"
Lee sits up straight, and nods. "Aye... yer right, mate." The otter stands, and gives Leon a quick hug. "I'll do just that. Thank ye for the advice." He starts to head outside.
Leon returns the hug and nods, he then lets the otter go on to where ever he is going and goes on to head to the tavern for a late breakfast.
