Oak Sells The Sword.....Then Takes it.....Then Loses it again.

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

(A few days ago- The Black Gull)

Oak steps into the shadowy tavern known as the Black Gull quite often, so the Patrons think nothing of him when he arrives, any other squirrel, or any woodlander would only be welcome in the Black Gull as the three S's: Slaves, Servants, and Soup. He pays for a rather strong smelling ale and sits down.

"Half-Ear" Oak smiles at a Rat next to him. "I've come across a way to steal a great Treasure from a Great Fortress, come with me and we'll talk"

Half-Ear has shared lots of treasure bounties with Oak and smiles as he heads to a dark room with him.

Oak pulls Half-Ear close as he shuts the door. "How much would you pay....for the Sword of Martin The Warrior?"

(A few hours after stealing Martin's Sword-The Black Gull)

Oak walks into the room with Half-Ear and hands him the sword. "There it is, Half-Ear, Martin the Warrior's sword in all it's glory....it's even freshly polished"

"How much you want?" Half-Ear asked.

"I tell you what, Half-Ear, 'yer a good friend. 'Ow's about sixty silver?"

"Sixty silver for the Martin Sword?" Half-Ear smiled. "You've got yourself a deal"

"Good" Oak hands him the sword scabbard and all. "I suggest you hide that, me friend, beasts 'll be affer' it" Half-Ear does so and they exit the room. "Now let's a get a drink pal"

Half-Ear smiles "Yeah, a drink would be nice"

"GET US A DRINK, BARTENDER" Oak says, and the two sit down and order a drink, Oak slips something in Half-Ear's drink while he isn't looking, some people notice but they don't say anything, a lot of beasts have learned not to mess with the squirrel that killed Bloodclaw. When Half-Ear takes his drink in one gulp and falls over dead, everyone continues what they were doing as Oak takes the sword, the money, and his drink and leaves.

On his way back to the abbey, Oak smirks. "Right, now all I have to do is sell the sword back to abbey, Flicktail should be sick enough not to be able to dispute my claim, and hopefully nobody get's hurt"

"Yes that's a great plan isn't it, Mr. Oak?" a menacing voice says.

Oak turns around and gasps at the stoat standing behind him.
