Now They are -ALL- Back At The Abbey
RW Abbey: Library
The library has never looked better in seasons as shelves have been
repaired and so have tables and chairs. The once empty sleeves now
have more books in them and not only that the books are in an ABC
order and arranged by subject to better find what one is looking for.
The beautifully crafted windows are well cleaned.
This gives the library plenty of light during the daylight hours. The
room has a high vaulted ceiling. The flagstones of the floor are cool
and smooth, and echoes are sometimes heard when beasts walk. Brass
lamps containing short, fat little white candles provide enough light
for reading. Some books are still being mended but being working on
getting on the shelves. The backroom is even very clean and organized
as well. Books were found in the attic and some from Ferravale were
added that the Ferravale beast had maybe two copies of something so
gave Redwall one of the copies for the Redwall library, all in all a
lot of hard work has done wonders for the library.
On an Oakwood desk is the charter laying inside a clear glass case for
all to see. The glass case keeps it safe and clean. Some other chairs
large and small, wooden and soft, have been placed in varies places
in the library and a pile of covers and blankets sit in one corner
with a few pillows as well.

Zinnia is checking the library, not that she was worried or anything she just seeing if it’s still in good shape. She smiles as she finds out it has been just fine and sits down in one of the chairs.
Stonepaw makes his way into the library as he glances around and shrugs. He grins as he sees the badger and walks over to her, “Guessing ya like this place lass, can't say I been in many places with tons of books really."
Zinnia gives the hedgehog a smile "I spend a lot of time in the library yes, I was making sure it was ok while I was away. Brother Boaz took good care of it." She has yet to update a journal, "Anyways I am surprised you haven't went off back to your boat and left"
Stonepaw shrugs," The boat, she be alright I suppose. I did check on her after that little..mini-weasel surprise. Those pests are lucky they didn't mess up me boat"
Zinnia says, "I am glad the boat is alright. I know we lost some things, but nothing important at least just some of the food and drink, and the rope was messed up. I think may of lost like one blanket. But no one was hurt at least"
Stonepaw nods as he listens, "Like said I checked on me boat, I know like no one 'ere so got restless and went ta check on the boat. And ya right nothing important was missing. But I did find something we left behind when unexpected company showed up. Or rather someone..." He shows a small box with holes and opens it letting that hermit crab walk on his paw.
Zinnia blinks and watches him with the small box and when she sees the crab she ohh "Mr. Dot...I almost forgot about him or least think it’s a him. I have no clue. Xander be happy to know Mr. Dot is safe."
Stonepaw nods as he watches the hermit crab walk on his paw and frowns, maybe this was a bad idea as it's clear he dislikes it walking further and manages to get it back in that box "Yeah...the lad has a ..interesting friend"
Zinnia carefully places the lid on the box and smiles as she places it on a table." He will still be happy, he worried"
The door clicks open and Benar sticks his head inside, "Ah Zinnia, there you are, glad to see you back. Sorry I've not given you all a proper greeting yet I've been a bit rushed off my feet with Spring nearly here."
Stonepaw breaths a sigh of relieve, it’s in the box where he thinks it should stay, "Yeah well no more worry then." He nods a hello to Benar and steps back some in case the badger needs to talk to the abbot.
Zinnia looks over as the door opens and smiles when she sees Benar and walks over, "I am glad to be back and it’s ok I know your busy."
Benar smiles at the hedgehog and nods his head to them in greeting, "Pleasure to see you as well friend," He looks at Zinnia and reaches out to clasp her arms, "Well I am glad you are back," He then hugs the badger warmly, "I want to hear all about it when we have time to catch up."
Stonepaw clears his throat, "Err...elllo lad..I mean sir abbot, or guessing ya be the abbey. I am Stonepaw, just a simple boating beast."
Zinnia returns her own hug and is quiet before she speaks, "Sorry how I was so...distant before I left the abbey. I am better now though, I just hope no one is.....upset with me, didn't really say bye to anyone I just sort of left"
Benar smiles, "Well simple boating beast or not you are most welcome here in Redwall." He looks at Zinnia and reaches up to touch her face, "No one minds Zinnia, you had just lost your father, you needed time and I am glad the mountain helped."
Stonepaw nods "I will stay for a little while anyways before I head off elsewhere..where..no clue yet"
Zinnia says, "It did help yes, and as you said we can talk more on the trip later perhaps. Brother Leon and Dorarose I believe are resting in their cottage and we made it back safe."
Benar says, "Good I am glad they are resting, I am afraid their home coming will be less then enjoyable... things have been... unstable for some time"
Stonepaw listens only a little, it’s none of his business really, "I do hope all will get better whatever it is."
Zinnia nods "Yeah me too." She decides to change the subject "oh...we have someone else that came with us, and they will be living in the abbey." She smiles as she goes on "A dibbun of around 3 and a half seasons, his name is Xander ..a badger dibbun I adopted, he...well he needed me"
Benar inclines his head in understanding, "Well as you know our door is open to all Zinnia, I am glad you found someone like that." He looks at Stonepaw and smiles, "You are welcome to stay with us as long as you like."
Stonepaw says, "I will think on it sir, I just be the one who operated the boat and the boat be safe by the bridge for now"
Zinnia smiles "I will have to introduce you to him, he is a little shy around most at first I have noticed"
Benar says, "Well I am sure he will be most welcome here, I look forwards to meeting him," He tilts his head and smiles "Well I am sure you boat is lovely Stonepaw, maybe I can get to see it someday before you leave."
Stonepaw nods "Perhaps if ya have reason to be by the river and I do come to Mossflower sometimes. Good things to trade here and other places the river can take one..even the great seas offer trade and sometimes adventure as well"
Zinnia chuckles, "It helped get us home so that was very good and we avoided a good deal of trouble and saved time on travel"
Benar says, "Well that is good, travelling by river is always the fastest way to the shore. it just isn’t often boats go up past Ferravale these days"
Stonepaw says, "Didn't stop in Ferravale, not so sure of de place and there was still a slight issue by the river but it was taken care of more or less"
Zinnia says, "Ferravale isn't too bad, my Uncle Zee lives there" Well last she checked he did." And he sees ok"
Benar says, "It is ok, we have a peaceful co-existence with them, we've not had any trouble with them."
Stonepaw shrugs "Maybe it’s good for supplies anyways, when I be ready to head off that is"
Zinnia nods "A peace treaty is with Ferravale and the Abbey." She hope Brother Boaz didn’t have too many problems and keep up with records for while I was away. I keep a journal while I was at Salamadstron and could leave it in the library. Any news or anything you need to know as you said I can tell you later"
Benar says, "Boaz did a fine job whilst you were away Zinnia, but it will be nice to have you all back home. As for you Stonepaw have you tried the Friar's sweet berry pie yet?"
Stonepaw shakes his head "No I have not, not tried much as I had left shortly after they got back to check on me boat, make sure all was well, which it is."
Zinnia smiles, “I am glad, I will have to read the log books and see if I much. Maybe write a summary of my time in Salamanadatron for the library"
Benar says, "Right, well I need to get back out there and talk to everyone, but I'll see you all later, you must join us for dinner, I will make sure there is pie tonight Stonepaw.""
Stonepaw nods "Well I might just have ta stay, least for a couple days as be a shame to miss out on pie." He nods "I think I will get a good look around the abbey before dinner, do have a good day" And he is off.
Zinnia nods, "I have yet to really talk to very many beasts yet since got back"
~~~~~Couple hours later ~~~~~~
Zinnia has been in here a couple hours and has managed to track down Brother Boaz and the two talk quietly and the hedgehog hands her some recorder logs and she sits down to read them as he heads off elsewhere.
Xander has been exploring and decided to look inside the library. He waits till the abbey Brother heads off before he comes walking in "Hi mama.." He sits down quietly and kicks his legs back and forth against the chair.
Zinnia smiles "Xander, there you are is everything ok." She pushes a small box with holes over "Stonepaw found something by the way when he did a check on his boat" Inside is the missing Mr. Dot.
Xander tilts his head and peers in the box curious and then what ever sad mood he was in is now a happy one as he smiles and places a paw in the box to let his thought lost forever friend on his paw "Mr. Dot Mr. Dot! It is you and you are alright" He smiles clearly happy now.
Zinnia smiles "Yes Mr. Dot was on the boat safe and sound and now he is here. Your have to take good care of Mr. Dot though ok?"
Xander nods "Of Course, of course I am glad Mr. Dot is ok and I bet he will like the abbey lots a lots right Mr. Dot?" The hermit crab just wiggles his antennas and the badger smiles "See he likes it already"
Zinnia chuckles “Yes it seems that way doesn't it, your have to thank Stonepaw when you see him again for helping Mr. Dot here"
Xander nods and says, "Yes Mama...where is Stonepaw anyways, did he leave or still around?"
Zinnia answers “He is around the abbey somewhere, I think he is staying a few days before he heads off, as for where in the abbey I don't know"
Xander nods and smiles as he lets his hermit crab friend walk up his arm to his shoulder.
Zinnia says, "We will have to find a nice place for Mr. Dot to be when he needs rest or when you’re sleeping, or if you’re too busy."
Xander says, "He likes the box and I can find a new like deep bowl to let him have some rocks and water also, and I still have my shells for him."
Zinnia nods "And that's all good"
Xander places the crab in its box as he says "When dinner?"
Zinnia looks up as she finishes reading an entry Brother Boaz made "Well...." And the bells single its dinner time as she smiles "Now....ok now Mr. Dot goes into our room, ok"
Xander nods and hurries off, he leaves the hermit crab in the recorder's room, with some water and bits of apple and bread and then washes his paws and is back by Zinnia.."Foods...I hungry can we go dinner now?" He then adds “Please”
Zinnia smiles as she nods and they head to dinner after Zinnia washes her own paws as well.
