North Path
Kentar was up quite early this morning, sitting on the other side of the road, back to the camp. His dagger is in his paw as he cuts out the dirt as best as he can, angrily of course, still not happy about yesterday.
Aikuen is sleeping next to Fira. In the middle of the night he has put his arm around her, without him knowing or remembering it. He wakes up slowly, and sees it. Chuckling, he slowly removes his arm, and sits up. There are four others sleeping, and Kentar is not one of them. He looks around, and sees him. Getting up slowly he pads his way toward the stoat.
Kentar keeps just driving the dagger into the ground, muttering things under his breath as he keeps hurting the ground as if it was somebeast who did something to him. He doesn't hear Aikuen come up behind him.
Aikuen gets just behind him and sees what he is doing to the ground, he chuckles, "First you were punching it... now your stabbing it... What did the ground do to you, to make you so cheesed off at it?" Its a light joke.
Kentar frowns. "It exists. Thats what it did." he growls. "Now buzz off otter. Before you take the ground's place."
Aikuen cant help at laugh, "We have gone through this before, i cant buzz off...For i am an otter, not a bug with wings" He goes and stands in front of Kentar, just out of stabbing range, "I also cant shove off, for it is hard to do, by ones self..." He laughs, "Whats wrong mate?"
Kentar frowns. "Just leave me alone!" he growls. "Its one moment we'd love to have our own ship, oh yes, lets do it." he then frowns. "Then it goes to 'Oh Kentar, you can go, you can go get it yourself! Its too dangerous so you can go!'." he growls. "You realize, that it seems like you two want me to go off, get killed...Yeah well go away, or I'll make sure some beasts die here. Wont be me."
Aikuen tilts his head, "Is that all? I didn't say go off and get it yourself killed. Me and Will have reasons not to go... Right at, or near the moment we get home." He sighs, "We want to go, but if it means acting like slaves, or slave drivers... Will is not gonna have any part of it at all. And i have to agree, I don't want any of us to get hurt or killed, just for some ship. Im sorry mate if you were looking forward to it, maybe another time..." He eyes the Stoat, "What do you mean, 'Some beasts die here'?"
Kentar obviously took what they said the wrong way, standing and getting right up to the otter, dagger aimed at him. "Oh...you go off and do it by your self, you can get it, sure you can! Send me off just to die why don't you." he growls. "Fine, if you have your reasons not to, then don't try to send me off to die. Because I can kill you three in the blink of an eye. Don't tempt me."
Aikuen sighs, the dagger not getting much attention, "We're not trying to send you off to get yourself killed, we never said that at all. When we said, /we/, we were including you in the not getting hurt or killed part. We don't want you to go." He eyes the dagger and makes a remark, "The way your holding it mate, is wrong, trying placing a claw on the blade, adds more control. Also prevents me from twisting your paw, and shattering your wrist..." he says out of hand.
Kentar blinks and looks at the blade for a moment, placing his claw upon the blade as advised before blinking again. "Wait...What?" he looks at the otter all confused like. "You won't shatter my wrist if your dead." he frowns. "Point is it seemed a lot like you beasts want me dead and if its true, you will be dead before I am."
Aikuen nods at the dagger, "That's good mate, also keep your wrist loose, prevents me from disarming you..." He shakes his head, "No i wont shatter your wrist when you holding it like that, but i don't want you dead... What gave you that idea?"
Kentar frowns then gahs, turning away and walking. "The whole thing go off do it yourself. What have I been saying the last few minutes you stupid fur ball!" He growls, sheathing the dagger and walking north away from them.
Aikuen catches up and walks along side him, "I don't think i remember us saying that... I remember Will saying that all of us could go besides him." He has to make a joke, "I cant help being a fur ball, i was born that way!"
Kentar rolls his eyes. "Why cant you just leave me alone?!" he tries to shoulder the otter roughly, hoping to knock him over.
Aikuen has been wary of the Stoat even since he has been... off... And he easily dodges the shove by stopping, then walking forward again, "Im not gonna leave yah alone, cause you my matey!"
Kentar just growls again. "Leave me alone!" he growls, still going and picking up a bit of speed, wanting to leave the otter behind. "Just go back to your camp!"
Aikuen increases his gait, to match Kentars, "Matey! Matey! Matey! If you really want me to go, just say the word!"
Kentar growls. He stops and turns to Aikuen. "I WANT YOU TO GO!" he shouts loudly.
Aikuen smiles, and holds out his paw, "Its been a pleasure Traveling with you Captain, i hope that wherever you go, you may find happiness in what you do." He goes to Attention with his other paw saluting him.
Kentar eyes the paws for a few moments. Is he really stupid enough to take them? He's been knocked out before for something like this so his guard is up more then ever. He very slowly goes to attention, snapping off a quick salute, before taking the paw, shaking it, then turning to leave again.
Aikuen nods and shakes the paw vigorously, He says, "Happy Travels, Kentar!" He bouts face, and walks back toward camp, without so much as another word, or action to the stoat.
Kentar pauses after a few moments to peer over his shoulder, muttering something under his breath. He just hangs his head and vanishes after a little while.
Aikuen goes back to camp and slumps down near the coals of the fire. He sighs, and begins to rub his eyes. When the others wake... There not going to be happy about it... But what could he do... Kentar made up his mind, and he doesn't want to hurt him again because of this... He takes a stick and prods life back into the flames, mumbling things.
Will begins to stir, rubbing his face and crawling out of his burrow to blink at the sun overhead. "Morning. We must be getting close to th Abbey it's warm here than it was farther north," he says stretching before wandering over to the fire to see what there is to eat.
Aikuen nods slowly, and pushes over the leaf, "Morinin'... Aye it is, not that much longer until we get home..." He sighs, and picks up several rocks and letting them roll in his paw.
Will takes the food to break his fast and watches the otter roll the rocks around, "Somethin' wrong, Pa?"
Aikuen nods again, and points to Garnet, and the empty bedroll. He sighs and drops a few rocks.
The rat looks over to where the otter pointed then back to Aikuen, "He usually comes back ...... if he doesn't she won't have a reason to follow us and will go her own way when we get to Mossflower like she was going to before." He has it all planed out doesn't he.
Aikuen raises a brow, "Thought 'bout before haven't yah..." nodding he continues, "I think he actually left for good though... This is just gonna break her heart..."
Will finishes his meal and goes to sit a little ways away from the fire, which he's finding too warm right now. "If he wants to leave we can't make him stay .... it doesn't work," the rat says not really believing Kentar might not come back like the other times.
Aikuen says, "That's why i didn't force him to stay at all... He seem to have made up his mind..." He shoves a rock violently, "All because, he think that we wanted him to die... Just misunderstood what we said..." He mutters, "Stupid ship..."
"Didn't say I wanted him to die .... just that when he does I don't want to be there. Everyone dies .... eventually," Will busies himself by drawing random patterns on his tablet.
Aikuen nods, "I don't want to be there either, but sometimes it happens..." He tosses a rock in the fire, "Nobody wants him to die... He just didn't listen very well, and he thinks that we do..."
Will nods a little and continues to doodle on the tablet.
Aikuen sighs, "If he doesn't get back, we may be taking Garnet to the abbey... She needs to be protected from her father... and it was okay before... because Kentar was with her... But now..." He hmms.
Will erases the drawings from the tablet and chews on his lip, "So we'll take her to th Abbey and the Abbey beasts will take care of her or do think she won't like it at th Abbey?"
Aikuen says, "Yah, they'll take care of her... And if she doesn't like it..." He shrugs, and stands up, "Lets get moving mate..."
Will puts his tablet away and gets his things together before putting out the fire. The others are already up now and starting to pack up too.
Aikuen takes his pack and slings it over his back. He goes to the road and stands next Fira. They don't say anything, and walk south.
Will, Mayeul and a confused Garnet follow behind the otters.
