Meeting with an old Friend
RW Abbey: Gatehouse
A small but well set up room set into the walls of the abbey near the gates. It has a single small window and a sturdy door with iron hinges. One your left the far wall has been almost completely taken up by shelving that holds well cared for old scrolls and manuscripts; the shelves leaving just enough space for a framed painting of Redwall. The wall that the door is set in but on the left hand side is sat a large locker where weapons are stored and then, beside it, is a very small desk that is covered in wood shavings. On the rear wall, below a ladder leading to the loft, is another locker, but it is smaller than the first and more of a cabinet. The only other wall houses a small fireplace and by it sits a pot with a ladle in it, and in front of the hearth is a handmade wooden rocking chair. The only other furnishings in the room are a small table and two chairs.

Leon climbs down the rope ladder and into the gatehouse area that leads outside, he adjusts a healer’s bag on his shoulder as he starts to head out to collect herbs.
Drake steps in as instructed by the guards to leave his weapons here, "Whatever mates..huh?" He seems to do a double take as he stares at Leon and doesn't speak up right away.
Leon starts to head out and blinks, "Oh, hello sir and welcome to Redwall Abbey did you need anything?" He yawns a little sleepy still as he usually is when he first wakes up, not always a good thing at times.
Drake speaks in his gruff voice, "Lad?" He says simply and shakes his head, "Not possible, here of all places" He mutters slightly out loud.
Leon blinks back sleep at the voice, one that’s all too familiar to him he gets a better look at the otter in front of him and his jaw drops, "Drake?"
Drake folds his arms over his chest and glares a little, "Well ya remember something." He glances at the robes and bag and seems a bit surprised, "What’s this...fer sure not you" He starts to leave the gatehouse.
Leon blinks, "Drake wait..it's me Leon, remember me..what are you doing here?"
Drake looks back, "Yeah I know and that just about confirms it don't it, I remember last we saw one another and not about ta forget thoughtless actions and decisions of a rude beast" He storms out and to the gates.
RW Abbey: Main Gate
You are at the main entrance into Redwall Abbey. The gates are a massive, double-doored wooden affair, reinforced with iron, and with a heavy latch and crossbar on the inside to prevent would-be invaders. While the gates almost always stand open, you get the impression that the builder of this portal designed it to be nigh impregnable. The entrance arch is amazingly thick, denoting the strength and thickness of the ancient walls themselves, which, despite the upheavals of the past, and numerous cracks present in the rose colored stone, still stand tall and strong. Uncountable pawprints can be seen in the dirt, leading both in and out of the Abbey. Along the bottom of the wall on either side of the arch, weeds and wildflowers can be seen in plenty.
The rising sun brings a soft glow to the old Abbey stones. The air is crisp and a little chilly, and there is a thin layer of dew on the grass and weeds at the foot of the walls, and on the grasslands beyond the dirt road. Leon follows the otter to the gates "Drake wait..Please it’s been a long time since seen you, ever since I left the village and had my reasons to leave, but that was last spring and..this is now"
Drake turns to face the mouse, "So, what does last spring got ta do with it, you still left with your ill attitude and..."
Leon sighs, "Yes I remember, but I am not the same beast that stormed out of the village that day, I've...changed"
Drake's glare softened a little, "Wot ya mean changed, how so?"
Leon answers, "I am sorry, I was wrong what I said and did back then, I had pain and it seemed no one cared, even you, everyone seemed to be mad at me for..in their eyes failing Renee"
Drake frowns, " Beasts cared, least I think they did but you were so...you was like locked away inside and wasn’t thinking straight mate, and you punched me lights out because I didn’t step aside and let ya leave"
Leon sighs "I was depressed, I was to watch her and get the herb for her and got lost, took a wrong path and when got back she was dead and they said it was my fault and I was a failure and I didn’t want to be one, so left with an idea I be a warrior or fighter instead, that didn’t work out very well either, but did learn some healing back then from the old vole that lived further along the river, not a lot but enough to help others when I could, sometimes I couldn’t help and it made me sink further, sort of got to the point didn’t care about others or myself, came here one day cause was tried, hungry, broke..shortly after I came save a dibbun from the pond, they almost drowned and remember shoving a fox out of the way, who at the time I didn’t trust."
Drake listens, "Word of advice matey, NEVER trust a fox, they are sly trickery they are"
Leon nods "That’s true...for most, this one ended up being my friend, long story but anyways the dibbun got better and it helped me, get a slight bit better, I planned ta leave after just being there 4 days but something stopped me or...someone."
Drake is still listening, "Go on Leon, what stopped ya from leaving as guessing ya never stayed in one place too long"
Leon smiles, "A mouse maid, she talked to me and she..she is beautiful and kind, and the greatest thing to happen to me in my life, I wanted to help her and be her friend, slowly we feel in love and, after some problems that happen, we got married and, and I will be a father soon."
Drake smiles, "Tis good to see you like this my friend, seems she helped a lot"
Leon says, "Helped me..she saved my life in more ways than one, if I had just left here then, it’s hard to say what kind of beast I would be today...not sure I would want to know, I even got more serious with healing skills, read books, watched healers in the infirm here..and in a village called Ferravale got to use healing and help beasts, even vermins and found out not all vermin species are bad, some are good and some are in-between, some respect woodlanders and the abbey and some don’t"
Drake arches an eyebrow to this, "Errr...welll I be de judge of that matey, I would never go ta a vermin settlement unless was dragged thar."
Leon nods "Well, maybe you can meet Flicktail, and he is a fox but a good fox so no trying to strangle him, ok"
Drake frowns a little, "I can try, but not making a promise matey, so..." He grins "Ya still swim like a blooming otter lad?"
Leon chuckles "Sure do, even better than before"
Drake smirks "Oh...prove it"
Leon nods "Fine, pond in half an hour", He walks inside.
RW Abbey: Pond
The abbey pond is practically the place to go for relaxation. The orchards that settle onto one side of the water hole provide decent shade for the more heated months to come. Various types of wild flowers grow about the edge of the ground that lightly overhangs into the pond. The pond seemingly invites one into its cool depths, which holds its fish life and multiple species of shrimp and other water dwellers.
Spring has come. Due to the rains, the abbey pond is just gently lapping at the edges of the ground. Soon to overflow lightly if the spring rains don't let up soon. Plant life seems to explode here in a variety of colors, sizes and aromas.

Leon walks in, a little late but all the same is here, "See I came, sorry my duties here I am Master Healer”
Drake grins "Master Healer? Congrats I guess you have come a long way "
Leon smiles "I am also a brother in the order, life is good now..yes still think about my older sister and what happen, but it’s the past and this is now."
Drake smirks and dives into the pond going fairly deep.
Leon shakes his head and joins his friend for a swim.
