Lunch time! Its Lunch time for the search party. There's a fire pit with a fire in it, and beasts are cooking whatever they brought to eat. Gero however, isn't near the group. He's eating alone, about a two minute walk from the others. Everyone can still see him however, and since its not privacy he aimed for, it was really just the same as being around everyone.

Benar pads away from the group carrying a couple of hot farls, he sits down next to Gero and offers one to him. "Here my friend..."

Gero hrms and looks over. "Thank you" he says with a small smile, taking one but sort of just ignoring it for the moment as he drinks something from his flask.

Benar leans his paws on the grass and watches the young mouse. "Are you ok Novince Gero? You seem.. somewhat abstracted."

Gero looks to the squirrel and nods slowly. "Yeah, i'm fine..." he replies. "I'm just...Worried..."

Benar says, "so am I.. I.. I liked Antioc... I hope he is ok... I really do... I do not want to loose a friend I have just met.""

Gero nods and glances off back to the sky. "I dont want to lose anyone. I don't wish to lose anyone

else..." he sighs. "Doesn't it seem odd to you that he killed a mouse, but not Antioc?" he asks. "It

doesn't make sense to me"

Benar frowns, "Maybe... maybe he thinks antioc is one of them? I did think about it... maybe he thinks

Antioc is vermin and he has had to go along with it?”

Gero shakes his head. "I dont....I dont really think Antioc would go along willingly. Remember there was blood away from the body we found...Maybe one of them hurt the other...and ran..." he thinks. "I Wish i knew..."

Gero nods. "We will...we will" he nods before looking to Benar. "Thank you for coming out here with us" he says. "at First I was just going to come alone"

Benar says, "i'd never have let you come alone... I wish we could have left the crazy fox at home. I mean why has he brought a shovel? Any bodies we find we are taking back to the abbey.""

Gero looks to Benar. "He's not crazy Benar. Flicktail means well. He brought a shovel incase we can't take the body home....If we cant then we'll have to bury it where it is" he says

Benar sighs and nods his head, "I am sorry.. I just... cannot stand foxes.. there are reasons... nasty reasons..." he sighs and rests his head in his paws.

Gero nods somewhat and places a paw on Benar's shoulder. "its alright. I know exactly how you feel.

I dont much like Rats, or Weasels but I tolerate them. I even know a nice rat...a nice Weasel. I like them even though i Dislike what they are...Just try to be nice to Flicktail, please..."

Benar sighs, "I have been trying... it is just creepy, he keeps lurking around me and expecting me to be his friend because I knew him when Iw as little..." he shakes his head and sighs. "I... am less then weasels and rats anyway... so I have to like them."

Gero hms and tilts his head. "Your...what...then weasels and rats?" He asks.

Benar sighs and tugs at his ears, "I shouldn't say things like that... it is.. I am..." he struggles and suighs, "But it is what I was taught.. imprinted into my mind..."

Gero frowns. "Your not less then anyone. I'm not more then Flicktail, The abbot isn't more then you, and no species is less then another..." he eyes the squirrel. "Imprinted into your mind or not"

Benar tugs at his ears and grunts and sighs, "I... I... knn....knnno..." he sighs,m "See I cannot say it..."

Gero sighs. "Say it...please?"

Benar exclaims, "Weasel's and Rats and stoats and FOXES!" he growls the last name, "Foxes are not better then any beast! They are... horrioble scum for the most part... but... they are no bnetter or worse then us.""

Gero hrms then sighs. "Not...all...foxes are scum. Brother Sharpclaw isn't scum. Flicktail and His Wife Aren't Scum..."

Benar tugs at his ears, "SOrry sorry... I am trying reall.y Novice Gero I am trying it is just hard."

Gero nods and places a paw on the squirrel's shoulder again. "I know. I all i can ask is to try" He smiles softly. "Just be glad I'm not the abbot...he once made Novice Starlenia climb to the rafters because she was scared of heights" he laughs.

Benar shakes hsi head, "I deo not know what he'd make me do to break this.... maybe I should go to him about it."

Gero shrugs. "I dont know what he would do either, if anything" He replies. "It could help yes. When we get back, I can talk to him for you if you want"

Benar says, "If... you would. I'd like tpo live in the abbey permanantly. EIther to join the guards or help with the orchard...""

Gero smiles and nods. "Ah. It will be nice to see you around the abbey more. I Think the guards would love to have you. The orchards too" he chuckles.

Benar smioles, "I do love trees, I tend to sleep in the trees most nights in the abbey myself."

Gero laughs. "I think i've sleep more in the infirmary then I have in my own dormitory" he laughs

Benar smiles, "Ah well each of us sleeps were we are most cmfortable I guess."

Gero laughs. "I'm most comfortable in my dormitory then in the infirmary"

Benar smiles, "I prefer a nice hollow in a tree myself."

Gero Hehs. "I prefer anything to the Infirmary. I think i may move in there though...I dont remember the last time I stayed away from the infirmary before we left the abbey"

Benar smiles, "Well the infirmary gives me the heebie jeebies personally."

Gero nods. "Even more so when Your the only one injured" he smirks.

Benar chuckles, "Yes.. what did happen to make you be bandaged up so?"

Gero Hehs. "okay...lets see....the first time was falling down the stairs...second time was an Arrow in the back while saving the beast I love...Hrm...Then I think it was the plague...I didn't get sick but I was more or less confined to the Infirmary when I helped out..." he hehs a bit. "Then It was my footpaw...that keeps me there half of winter alone..." nods

Benar nods his head and stretches out on his back. "well... I am going to catch a nap before we head out aghain."

Gero hms and nods. "right...have a good nap then" he smiles a bit before sighing and glancing back to the sky as he was when The squirrel came up.
