Kluner Meets Will and Amy

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

Characters: Aikuen, Will, Amy, Kentar, Garnet, Kluner

Location: Moledeep

Moledeep: Dibbun's Garden

Its the very start of another brand new summer day over Moledeep. Aikuen woke up in the infirmary, as that is his current sleeping arraignments till Fira talks to him again. He is now in the kitchen cooking up some of his favorite biscuits, Hardtack. He sits on one of the counters, and stretches his legs over to another counter, as he waits for his bread to cool. Fira comes in, following her nose, to the smell of fresh bread. She looks to Aik, and blinks a few times before walking forward getting a bowl and a spoon. The stew is on the other side of Aik so she has to cross where his legs bridge over the counters. She looks Aik directly in the eye, wanting him to move his legs. Aik, when Fira came into the kitchen was open mouthed for a few moments but he remained silence, in case she still didn't want to talk to him... or see him. He watches her with a longing to get up and just hold her in his arms, but he stays seated. When Fira looks him in the eye, he ohs and moves his feet to let her pass.

She goes over to the stew and ladles herself a bowlful. She then takes a couple of helpings of Aiks hardtack, more than usual. She has to pass Aik again to leave, and she does so balancing the bowl and bread in her paws. When she passes him she smiles a little bit and lightly rubs his leg with her rudder. Aik drops his mouth and asks, "Fi?" she shakes her head and walks out of the kitchen. He takes the hint, she is still not ready to be around him. He sighs and wraps a few hot biscuits in a cloth to go and start on the pond again. Not much else to do today... while the others are still asleep. He gets to the half finished pond, and places the cloth on one of the markers. He then takes a bucket and the shovel before diving into the hole to scrap the sides away into the bucket then dump it on the outside. The clear water is soon a brown mucky mess as he works.

Will is resting near some bushes in the garden. He and Amy had been up most of he night as had become a habit for the pair and explained the many naps they took during the day. It was cooler at night than during the day and more importantly all the others were sleeping and wouldn't be able to tease them. Will had been practicing, very quietly, carrying Amy over the threshold of the tunnel entrance and they'd practiced kissing a little as well, but mostly they'd just talk and enjoy each other's company. Half asleep he dozed leaning against the bushes just out of sight should any beasts come into the garden unexpectedly. He keeps half awake so he won't miss the sun rise, but once it's over he'll be able to get some sleep til the others wake up.

Amethyst is curled up next to Will and is fast asleep relying on the other rat to wake her when the sun starts to rise. Her staff is somewhere out in the garden but she's not to worried about it right now.

Aikuen comes out of the water and dumps off another bucket of muck in the already increasing pile. He is usually not out and about this early... but he is today, for obvious reasons. He doesn't know any other beast is up, so he starts to sing to himself. An old sailing song, that is slow and works perfectly with his growling baritone voice "It was almost early morning, and the day be come and fine... For the harbor grace excursion, for the boys that have the time... And just before the sailor, took the gangway from the pier... I saw some fella haul me wife... on board as a volunteer..." He sniffs at the wife part, before jumping back into the water, with a big splash.

The sun slowly rises over the horizon pushing back the shadows and throwing a hazy light across all of Moledeep. Amy nuzzles closer to Will as she sees the world brighten and grow lighter and lighter. Will hugs Amy as he describes the colors of the sun rise though he's nearly drowned out by the splashing coming from the pond and Aikuen's singing. He starts to raise his voice to talk over the singing but changes his mind and nestles closer to Amy and whispers in her ear so he can still be heard by her and so the singer in the pond won't be able to hear them.

Amethyst laughs as the singing over powers Will's talking and blushes a bit when he presses his muzzle against her ear to whisper to her. If their luck holds out the otter won't have heard them or will at least pretend he didn't for a while longer.

As the sun rises higher and light washes over all to take back it's domain from the dark of night a blind rat yawns and lays down on her side to get some much needed sleep. Her companion moves her head wreath a little to plant a quick kiss on her forehead before stretching out beside her and join her in slumber. The maid is quick to move closer to him for warmth and to use him as a pillow rather than the prickly summer grass they're laying on.

Aikuen is currently deep in the pond scrapping the sides down, so he cant hear anything but the water around his ears. He pops his head out of the water and spits out the gritty mud he accidentally got lodged in there. He then hops out and dumps the bucket on the pile. He sighs as he continues on with the song... its more sad, and softly sung, "She died beneath the brandy, as we were coming back... buried her in the ocean, wrapped up in a Ashurah Jack... And now i am a single beast, In search of a way to forget... I loved her more than anything, my own, my little rosette..." he blinks a few times, before sitting down and letting his footpaws dangle in the pond. With a sigh, he wipes a paw across his eyes.

The rats are still fast sleep as the sun rises higher and it becomes lighter and lighter out. They were much to tired to stay awake after the sun had risen so the otter's song now falls of deaf ears.

Aikuen dangles his paw for almost several hours, without saying a word... without moving a muscle. Except for his legs which go back and forth, making ripples in the pond. Eventually he stands up slowly, and arches his back with a loud pop. He has been thinking about forcing himself to just go see... and talk to her... But he thought it best, just stay away until she deemed ready. Grunting, he takes the wheelbarrow full of the drying mud... and pushes it to the already huge pile in the orchard. Almost stepping on the rats on accident, he couldn't see them... Guessing that they were here before he was. He smiles at them before continuing on. He comes back to the pond and sits the wheelbarrow down. He goes over to his biscuits and slightly chuckles, trying to get himself to feel better, "I missed breakfast... its Lunch time!" as he opens the cloth and begins to chew on the bread. He looks to the rats, and tosses a hunk of bread at them, "Oi! Mr. and Mrs. William Redfang! Wakey Wakey! It's lunch time!" he laughs to himself.

Amethyst stirs a little as the bread bounces off her shoulder but doesn't wake up.

Will mumbles something unintelligible and lays his arm over his face to block out the ever brightening sunlight overhead. It doesn't look like he heard the otter either.

Aikuen sticks his tongues out as he aims to hit Will right on the schnoz. He launches his ballistic biscuit, and then laughs, "Daylights a burnin' away 'ikkle ratties'" He said he would never tease them... when they're awake!

Will sits up and looks around a bit dazed for whatever it was that hit him, paw on the hilt of his sword should he need it.

Aikuen smiles, "Afternoon Will... Have a nice sleep?" he asks, patting the spot next to him. And he tears off a hunk of the biscuit and holds it out to the Rat, "Come mere! Ive been thinkin'! And dont worry, its the good kind!"

Amethyst is awake as well but remains where she is partly because she doesn't want to get up yet and partly because her staff isn't within reach. With her back to Aikuen and Will she listens in on their conversation since she's unlikely to get back to sleep now, with them talking

Aikuen smiles and scruffs the top of his sons head, "Hiya Will!" He takes a bite of bread and says, "Ive been thinking... since your getting older... maybe its time you take on a little more responsibility around the tunnel... And since the tomatoes are now growing on the vine... I'm giving you the task of watering them in the morning!" he grins, "Oh that includes The other gardens as well! Don't worry, you can get Amy to help you as well... It'll make the job go faster" This is exciting, at least for the otter anyway.

Around bites of bread Will says, "Ok. We can do that." He finishes the bread and wonders if the otter has more. "... how long 'ave you been out here?" he asks knowing Aikuen, like Kentar, can be sneaky at times.

Amethyst hears eating, now she has to get up. She sits up and turns around to face the voices, "Hey, Aik. You mentioned lunch? I see no lunch," she holds out empty paws toward where she's last heard the otter's voice.

Aikuen also finishes his hardtack and says, "Since before dawn, clearing the pond and such" He ripples the pond and looks back to Amy, "Aye sleepyhead! I wouldn't expect you to see the lunch!" He opens the cloth and takes out the last biscuit. He then takes Amy's held out paw carefully, and leads her toward little bit closer to him, "Come and sit down, and then ill give you some lunch. Its just hardtack, but it makes a good lunch!" he chuckles.

Amethyst accepts Aikuen's help though unless he helps her to her feet she'll be following him by walking on her knees. She actually has learned to move faster that way then regular walking, out of necessity.

Aikuen does of course help her to her feet, that should be obvious enough. Aik, even though he gets angry sometimes... does not deteriorate him from being a gentlebeast, when he wants to be. He leads her, so she is between Aik and Will, and does not let go until she sits down. Then he takes the bread and holds it out in front of her, "This is the last of the bread... until...um... later..." All the flour is gone, until he goes back to the abbey for some more.

Will watches the others closely. He's glad his father is being nice to Amy but on the other paw he'd rather be the one to help her. He placates himself with the notion that once Fira forgives him Aikuen will focus his effort on her more than Amy. Hearing that they are more or less out of bread now Will suggests, "Next time we plant stuff we should plant some wheat or something." He kind of knows how to make flour from wheat and he's sure it would be a lot of trouble but it would be nice to one day be able to have everything they need grown right in their own gardens.

Amethyst sits down as Aikuen helps her move closer to the group. She takes the bread and has no problem eating it knowing there likely won't be more for a while. "We still have soup and stew and things like that. Not like we'll stare without bread for a while," she remarks catching Will's comment. She knows they don't have a mill so if they did grow wheat it would have to be ground into flour by paw.

Aikuen looks over Amy, to Will, "We could, but i would have to double the size of the garden... and then just plant wheat... you cant get a lot of flour from the wheat seeds, so you have to plant a ton more than you think... And! If we did all that... we would have to wait until next planting season" he sighs as he ripples the water, "I think its easier just to go to the abbey... or just buy the flour..." he then looks to Amy and smiles, "Aye we do, but we use flour in pretty much everything including the stew... and Bread is a primary staple..." he takes another breath and laughs, "I'm not too worried, but i will have to replace the flour soon... or else we all are gonna start to feel weak... Rations in the militia were mostly bread for a reason!" he chuckles

Will nods some. The otter's probably right. "... probably wouldn't work too good t use this garden for that if we wanted to would it?" he asks just in case there's a chance after all.

Amethyst nods. "Good thing we're as close t th Abbey as we are, don't know of any shops around here. Though we /could/ live without bread if we had too. I've done it before." she says finishing the bread. "... though not for very long," she admits.

Will states, "A beast can /live/ without a lot of things but I wouldn't recommend it."

Aikuen shrugs, "If this was some sort of plantation, then i say 'sure go for it! It'll grow just fine!'... But there is not a lot of space to grow wheat here..." he nods a little bit, "I'll just get some from the abbey... or there is a market just north of here... and the occasional peddler on the road..." He then stops to listen to the rats conversation, adding in, "No, i don't recommend it... or else your gonna have to start drinking a special medicine... because you can no longer eat right anymore..." He has much experience in that.

Will has some experience in that as well though he never had special medicine, though there were times when he probably would have benefited from it. He nods some but is otherwise quiet not wanting to talk about this subject now.

Amethyst shrugs, "Ok then. We'll need t try to keep a good supply of flour around and get more when it's low and before we run out completely next time."

Aikuen looks to them both and squints one eye, "As soon as Fira..." he stops and takes a deep breath, "Were going to to the abbey to pick up more supplies for us all. Gonna restock most things we threw away since we have been here... medicine and such..." there is also another reason, but he has never even told Will about it.

Amethyst asks, "When are 'we' going to th Abbey t get supplies?"

Aikuen looks to Amy, "By 'We' I meant me and Fi... and soon, in a few days..." he crosses his arms, "We'll be getting a ton of supplies, and lets face it otters are a lot better to do that type of work anyway..." Plus it's more alone time with her. He figures that getting her away from here for a few days, might be good for them both.

Will nods and takes Amy's arm to help her up as the rats head back inside. "If you say so, Pa. We're gonna go in for a while if ya don't need us for anything."

Aikuen waves to them both, "See yah later! Will! Amy!" probably thinks that is getting too hot for them again... It's nice weather to him... needs to rain soon though. He looks around again, and sees that he is alone, before sliding into the pond. He floats on his back, placing his paws behind his head, and slowly propels himself around using his rudder. He hums to himself, as he thinks about what Fira did this morning. Maybe tomorrow, she will actually say something!

Garnet and Kentar arrive into the gardens, talking to themselves. Both stoats pause when they spot Aik. "Hey Aik!" They chime at the same time before laughing at how they sounded. Garnet is clearly pregnant now and there's no doubt about it now.

Aikuen lazily opens an eye to them, "Hey" he then realizes something, and he drops himself quickly into the water. He then comes up to the side and rests his arms on the ground, so he doesn't have to tread water. He says nervously, "H-Hey guys... Hows it g-going..." he chuckles lightly.

Kentar smiles and watches the otter for a moment before noting the nervous feeling that surrounds the otter. "Going great, Aik...Why you sound so nervous?"

Aikuen says, even more nervous now that he brought it up, "N-Nothing! Its just N-Nothing!... eh the water is cold... and I'm shivering... Yeah, that's it" he places a paw on the side of his face and looks directly at Kentar, then looks down into the water. He then looks back to Kentar and gives a very odd nod. Hopefully the stoat will get it, or drop it. Both work quite well with Aik, for this.

Kentar frowns a little then leans over to whisper something to Garnet. She nods a little then waddles off somewhere for a bit to give them privacy. "Are you alright Aik?" he asks, slowly going over some.

Aikuen frowns also... not only did he not get it, he didn't drop it. He watches Garnet leave, Good! It will be less embarrassing, plus the stoat probably won't care. At least, he hopes not. He says, "I'm Fine, I just didn't want garnet to see..." He motions for the Stoat to lean down next him so he can whisper, don't want to say it even out loud.

Kentar sits next to the otter on the dry part of the shore by the pond. "Aikuen, will you just tell me? For crying out loud." he frowns before leaning in to see what the otter wants to tell him,

Aikuen whispers something, looks back down into the pond again, then whispers something else. It is quite embarrassing, and the otter, if you could tell, turns a bit red at it.

Kentar grins a little and looks at the otter with a laugh. "Ahh...I see." he nods with a chuckle.

Aikuen sighs. Ah! The stoat didn't laugh at him. If he did, he might have splashed water at him. He nods a little bit and says, "Now that you know... That's why I seemed nervous... Anyways, with that put aside..." he still remains attached to the side, "How are you and Garnet getting along... you guys seem like the picture perfect companions to me... Is it all butterflies and sunshine with the stoats?" he asks.

Kentar did indeed laugh but Aik doesn't seemed to have noticed. "Ah. Well. Not all butterflies and sunshine. We had an argument this morning." he leans back and sighs quietly, the stoat thinking for a few moments.

Aikuen nods some. He isn't the only one with problems "What was it about? Didn't seem to have a problem when you guys came out here, must have made up then!" he chuckles lightly, watching the stoat. He then tilts his head, "Or... Did one of you, just pacify the situation?" he squints an eye at him.

Kentar sighs a little. "Well. I told her that I was going to come out to see you. And she wanted to come too. So. For now we just put the argument behind us." he scratches his head and looks at the ground. "There's a chance that we'll call the wedding of."

Aikuen nods, and then his mouth drops, "WHAT!?! What do you mean by that! Why!?!" he is very alarmed at this new information. He reaches out and pats Kentar on his leg, as that is the only thing he can reach without getting out of the water, and he is not getting out of the water.

Kentar almost bursts into tears but the stoat controls himself. "I sort of. Uh." he scratches his ear slowly. "Sort of threatened to kill her if she made me angry again. And then I was about to slap her across the face when I realized what I was doing but when I started to say I was sorry it was already too late. We're. We're not sure." but he does give a little grin. "And unlike you, I handle bad news well. Well. At least I'm not trying to kill myself."

Aikuen begins to rub his temples with his free paw, "Ah geeze mate... What made you angry at her in the first place?" Might as well get the full story... Oh, then he adds this, "Remember that promise you told me, after I hit Amy... Well think of that... but with me in it instead... and you on the receiving end... and remember, my light punches knocks you out... and I won't hold back..." he frowns at the stoat. This is the last thing he expects from him... especially now... and especially with her. And then he hits Kentar in the leg when he says the last thing about him, "I'd rather die then hurt Fira... What does that tell you..."

Kentar nods a little and then flinches at the hit. But he doesn't do anything about it. Mostly, because he didn't really care if he was hit in the leg. If it had have been to the stomach, he'd have done something. "I know. But." He looks off to where Garnet went. "I haven't been the same since I rescued her from the fox. I sort of took a hard blow to the head on our way out and well." he sighs.

Kentar frowns. "I remember threatening her. I remember it so clearly. But I wasn't able to stop myself. I knew what I was doing but it was like someone else was in control."

Aikuen scratches his head, "Don't know what to tell you mate... We can go get a healer, if you want too... Maybe they can help you..." never really dealt with this sort of thing before. He goes to float on his back, and hmms as he propels himself around.

Kentar nods a little and sighs. "I told her I'm sorry. She forgives me, but she doesn't want to have to deal with this sort of thing on a regular basses. So. We're thinking of not getting married. I really want to get married. I love her. I really do." the stoat thinks for a while. "I need to do something to keep my mind off these things when it happens."

Aikuen nods, "You should still get married... and work on the problems... Like with me...When I have my 'rages'... Fira, is understanding about that... and we work on it... and I have gotten better... except for a few days ago..." he gulps a little bit, then continues, "That's what we do... We work on it... as a team, together..." he blinks a few times. This is something him and Fira talked about for hours during their talk. He propels himself near Kentar and says, "What cooled you off this morning... what stopped you from hitting her?" trying to help the stoat.

Kentar looks at the otter and nods every so often before thinking and then rubbing his face. "She slapped me across the face. Good and hard. It cooled me off quickly."

Aikuen asks, "Was it the pain? Or was it her touching you?" narrow the results a bit more. He has an idea for either, they both probably won't work... But hey! he is trying to be helpful.

Kentar shrugs a little. "I don't know. Probably a combo of the two." he says. "I just don't want to call it off. But if I'm going to be an abusive husband, I don't want to get married one bit."

Aikuen hmms, "Well... What does Garnet say about it... Thats the big question... If she still is Wanting to marry you... Then go right ahead... and try to make it work... if it doesn't.."

Kentar looks around and then shrugs. "I think she wants to get married too, but we're. We're not sure." he rubs over his face then takes a bit of water and splashes himself. "I'm going to go to bed. I need to think." he stands before turning and walking off. "Thank you for talking Aik. It helped. Night." he vanishes off

Aikuen nods, "Then get married!" he chuckles to himself as he waves to Kentar, "Night Kentar, sorry I couldn't be more helpful... and you're welcome" He hmms again as it is getting quite dark out. He smile evilly, as he still propels himself around the pond. Thinking about happy thoughts... And only one beast come to mind! He closes his eyes, and laughs...It's too dark to be embarrassed!

Moledeep: Mole Hall

Will had rummaged around in the kitchen for something to eat since the hardtack wasn't quite enough in his opinion. Now he and Amethyst are seated at the table in the hall with bowls of soup. The rats eat in near silence, neither talking very much at the moment.

Kluner walks in from the storage chamber. The fox in the tunnel, is beginning to bore him a bit, so he looks around looking for his parents. He peeks around the corner, because he saw the other otter earlier today. She didn't say anything, don't think she saw him, but he is careful... just to be sure. He sees the two rats and slowly walks up, chewing on his tail. He only meet them once, and didn't really even meet them... just saw them from a distance. He just stands there, nibbling his tail, wonder if he should say something or not.

Amethyst has finished her soup and pushes away from the table. "Hello, Kluna?" she asks having heard Kentar and Garnet go outside a while ago. Believes it may be the little weasel because this beast is quiet and chewing on something and he's not Will because she knows where Will is. Not waiting for an answer and assuming Will will correct her if she's wrong about it being the weasel she takes out her lute and starts to pick and sing, "Now you all know The bards and their songs When hours have gone by I'll close my eyes In a world far away We may meet again But now hear my song About the dawn of the night Let's sing the bards' song. Tomorrow will take us away Far from home No one will ever know our names But the bards' songs will remain. Tomorrow will take it away The fear of today It will be gone Due to our magic songs.

Amethyst continues to sing, "There's only one song Left in my mind Tales of the brave ones Who lived far from here Now the bard songs are over And it's time to leave No one should ask you for the name Of the one Who tells the story. Tomorrow will take us away Far from home No one will ever know our names But the bards' songs will remain. Tomorrow all will be known And you're not alone So don't be afraid In the dark and cold 'Cause the bards' songs will remain, They all will remain. ..."

Will looks up from his soup and smiles at Kluner, "Hello. How ya doin' today Kluna? Ya hungry? There's more soup in th kitchen if ya want some. Or there's stew if ya don't care for soup."

Kluner walks a little closer, still chewing his tail. He listens to Amy's song for a little bit, before turning back to Will, "Hi's... 'Nuckle..." he shakes his head, "No'es... Kluna already ateted..." He walks up to the male rat and prods him a little bit. Its what he does to new beasts that he meets.

Will stacks the now empty bowls on top of each other and was going to go put them in the kitchen but he pauses as Kluner pokes him. "What are you doin' Kluna?" he asks puzzled.

Amethyst was right it is Kluner. As the song finishes she smiles in the direction she's last heard the weasel and asks "How are you Kluna? Any songs you'd like me to play for you?"

Kluner chews his tail a little bit and steps back, "Sorries... but...your furs.. is... Diffrents then... the others..." And then the other rat talk to him, and he looks to her. He shakes his head, not knowing the rat is blind. He walks slowly up to her, and also pokes her.

Will nods, "O.K. I'd hope so I'm no otter or stoat." He chuckles a little as he takes the bowls to the kitchen.

Amethyst is poked. "Wh- It's not very nice to poke random beasts, silly." She puts a paw out to feel for the weasel's head and face to get a look at him since he's in reach. "Hold still so I can look at you, Kluna," she says.

Kluner says, "Sorries... your furs is softers, then 'Nukles... Ack, Whats you doings to Kluna!" he steps back suddenly, as the rat-maid reaches for him, and protects his nose. But then she says that and begins to chew his tail again, "Can't you see me from heres?" not getting that she can't see him.

Will returns from the kitchen and looks over Kluner and Amy, "What's goin' on?" He just missed what Kluner said.

Amethyst smiles, "Nope. I can't see much with my eyes anymore. I see with my paws now. I just wanted t look at your face and see how handsome you are."

Kluner giggles at the compliment, and steps forward so she can 'see' him. He still doesn't get it why she cant see him, "Do yous needs spectekgles, To helpes sees?" True, he has seen blind beasts before... but they have mostly been from battle. And she is not wearing any eye patches, like the other rat.

Will sits back down rolling his eye at Amy's comment to Kluner. "Spectacles wouldn't help her any, Kluna. If they would I'd have borrowed Jullian's for her by now," he grins.

Amethyst ignores Will's comment. "No, they wouldn't help me any. I can't see anything except how dark or light it is and sometimes it's hard t see even that if it's really dark," she says as she runs her paws over the weasel's face slowly, ruffling his ears as she finishes. "That wasn't so scary was it?" she asks

Kluner chuckles and shakes his head, "No'es... It tickles!" he laughs and begins to rub his own tail, "Your blindeded?" he figures after he put it together, "You is not wearing any patchies over your eyes... How comes?" he ask and takes a step closer, and pokes her lightly again.

Amethyst shrugs, "Cause I don't want to. No beast said I had to, well none worth listening too anyway. My eyes just can't see but they can still move and if I covered them than you couldn't see them."

Will grins watching Amy and Kluner while leaning back in his chair.

Kluner nods a little, "Oh'ks..." Still doesn't really get it... but lately he hasn't got a lot of anything. He goes over to one of the chairs near Amy, and climbs up. He lets his tail run wild, and it oddly taps everything within reach. He blinks a few times and watches the pair, with inquisitive like eyes

Amethyst's paw ponces at Kluner's tail as it brushes her leg, "Hey, you moved," she teases before asking, "You like it here Kluna?"

Will waves a little at the weasel to let him know he's awake and can see him, even if Amy can't.

Kluner frowns as he tail is caught, and he pulls it away from her, "Dats mine!" he chuckles and taps her with his tail again. He notices the wave, and he waves back enthusiastically, "Hi's 'nukle!... Its okays... I meets my Mujer, she is nice and warm...and ikes... He is not scarys at alls!... Fajer call'ded him a 'Big lumps of furs'... and 'Big babby'... He is talls! and Huges!" he holds his paws in the air as high as he can, to show them how tall he is.

Amethyst doesn't care that the little dibbun's tail got away from her, "That was yours? Are you sure it wasn't mine? It was nice and soft whoever's it was. Good t hear you like Aik, he's a nice old wa-otter. He's a nice otter. Fira's a nice otter too but she's ... not feeling too well right now. You'll probably met her later when she's better. Both th otters are huge, th hugest otters I've ever seen and I've seen a quite a few. There's a whole camp full of otters not too far from here down river of us and Will has a friend that lives over there."

Will laughs, "Kentar called him that? Wonder what Pa thought of that!"

Kluner nearly falls off his chair, when he hears that there is a whole camp of otters nearby. He blabs out, "A whole Camps fulls of Waterdogs!" he starts to chew on his tail nervously, "Arent you scareds of thems... Whens i was a pirates, watedogs killeds a lot of usens..." he goes to hide under the table, "And they laugh'ded when they did it..." he cringes a bit and walks over to Will, and wraps a tail around the rats leg. He looks up to his uncle and tilts his head, "Ikes, stucks his tongues at hims... and frownded alot..." he hmms as goes to hug the rats leg too.

Will slowly lowers his chair back to the floor being careful not to set it down on Kluner's footpaws or tail. "And his is why Amy shouldn't talk. Yes there's a camp full of otters down river of us but they don't come here except th one that's my friend and one time he brought a healer here t help us when Amy was hurt a while ago. They have no reason t come here and most of them don't even know how t get here anyway, so you don't have t worry about them. And sides Pa an Kentar an everybeast wouldn't let any beast in here that would hurt you. And if one did get in somehow we'd get rid of em fast. Nothin t worry about an most of em are nice like Pa an Stepmum an they even let Flicky join em an live there fore he became th Abbey Champion an Flicky's not a otter, he's a fox. A very nice white fox an he protect Redwall from bad beasts cause he's Champion now."

Will leans over to hug the weasel, "That sounds like Pa alright. He doesn't like being called names too much. You like Racky too I guess since yurr sharin' th little room with him now."

Amethyst sticks her tongue out at Will or attempts to anyway, "Pardon me for breathing." She should have know better but she'd momentarily forgot the weasel was scared of otters. Now if he were scared of badgers or cats she could understand but not so much otters.

Kluner smiles at the hug, "The foxys in the holes? Yeses! Hes funs! Whens he is nots sleepins... all days... He dont talk much... kinda makes noises and points alots..." The camp of otters nearby still confuses him. Not like the sea, where it was easy to tell which beasts kills you, and the other that just hurts you. But since so far what they told him is true, he just has to believe them. He still hugs and yawns a little bit, "Kluna is tireds... Tells others... i wents to sleepy..." He lets go of Will and says, "Nighty!" he then walks over to Amy and wraps his tail and himself in a hug around her leg, "Nighty, night!"

Waves again, "Night Kluna."

Amethyst chuckles as her leg is hugged, "Aw, me too? Thank you." She tries ruffle the weasel's headfur again, "Nighty night, Kluna. Sweet dreams."

Will grins, "Yeah, th fox in th hole. His name's Racky and he doesn't talk just makes noises an writes sometimes. He's my little brother an Kentar's brother too so he's your other uncle too I guess.

Kluner smiles a little bit, and then his head is ruffed, and he leans into it. When she stops he looks to her and smiles. He lets go and starts to walk of to the storage chamber, and he muffles out, "Rackies... is my brudder?" he hmms at this as he steps through and is soon in the hole, fast asleep.

Will overhears his nephew, "No, Uncle! Racky is your uncle, silly!" he calls after him.

Amethyst grins, "I don't think he heard you."

Will shrugs, "Oh well, we can explain it to him again tomorrow if we have to."

Amethyst says, "You're family is really weird."

Will laughs, "I know. ... wonder what ever happened t those stoats an Pa."

Amethyst raises a brow questioningly, "Outside?"

Will nods walking around to help Amy to the entrance, "Why not. We still need t find your new stick and if we're lucky maybe we'll see th sunset too."
