Kentar And Will Go To Cathudbova
Characters: Aikuen, Kentar, Garnet, Christopher, Fira, Will, Amy
Location: Moledeep, Cathudbova, Mossflower Woods
Moledeep: Infirmary
Its morning in the infirmary and Kentar is awake, next to Garnet. She's awake too, and is sweating, thanks to all the blankets they were too afraid to take off. Kentar just has her paw and smiles as they talk. "I'm so glad your feeling better." he says. "There's. Still a little pain but. Not as much as there was yesterday." she says. "I'll tell Aik when I see him next." her husband smiles a little bit.
At that precise moment, Chris who has held by Aik the whole night through, wakes and sees the whiskers of the otter. He giggles and reaches up and pulls on one. Aikuen become instantly awake and rubs the side of his muzzle, "Ouch... You little nut... give that back!" As the small stoat waves the whisker in the air triumphantly. Aikuen and yawns and looks over at the other stoats, giving a nod, "Morning all... Garnet glad to see you awake!" he smiles as he reseats the little one in his arms carefully, so not to wake Fira, who is still asleep, with her head resting on Aik's chest.
Kentar blinks and looks over to the the ouch he heard. He looks at Aik and then his son, laughing quietly. "Oh, Christopher. Silly stoat!" he smiles before looking at Aik again. "Your not the only one. But. She said there's still a little bit of pain. Is it bad?" he asks.
Aikuen looks over to Garnet, and gives a quick assessment, "It might be... Hold on... Ill check..." He sighs and pokes Fira on the nose. She frowns and opens her eyes, and smirks at Aik. Aikuen smiles and says, "Morning Fi... Here can you hold him for a sec... I'm just gonna go check something..." He hands the little one off to her, and when he hands are tied with the little one, Aik plants a kiss on her. He chuckles and get up from the bed heading over to the stoats, "Maybe from yesterday... may still be recovering from that episode... Hmm..." he places his paw on her forehead.
There's no fever at all. And she seems alright. But she does wince every so often. The stoatmaid looks up to the otter and continues to watch him for a few moments before gripping her love's paw tightly.
Aikuen hmms and scratches his head, "Eh?" noticing the wincing, "Where does it hurt?" he asks as he goes over to the medicine cabinet, and pulling a few vials out.
"I've got a headache. My. Stomach hurts. And my back hurts." she says. "The back and head thing might be from where she hit it off the floor yesterday. The stomach thing might be because she hasn't eaten since yesterday lunch." Kentar offers but he makes no suggestion as to what to do.
Aikuen nods, as he begins to mix the same potion from yesterday, "She still has the infection, but its under control now... The pain might be from it ... but they sound more like what you said..." he mixes the flask to potions and walks over, "Take about one gulp of this... Then take one every time you feel more pain... But if you fell a new pain, please tell me..." He hands the flask over to Garnet, "If your hungry, why don't you send your husband off for some grub..." he chuckles as he goes to sit back down.
Garnet takes one glub then gives the vial to her husband before he corks it and sets it in her reaching range. Kentar chuckles then stands. "I'll be back then." he vanishes to the kitchens. "So Aikuen..." she sighs. "Do you. Think I can take these blankets off?" she asks. "I'm real, real, real warm."
Aikuen nods little bit, "Sure Garnet, You can take off a few... But I still want you very warm... prevents the fever from coming back, and you will heal faster...but a few off shouldn't do much..." He stands up and help her to remove some of the blankets and toss them into a pile, "There... Are you still very warm?... but comfortable all the same?" he asks. Fira chuckles at her husband, before she keeps a good eye on Chris.
The stoatmaid nods and smiles as she gets comfortable. "Oh. Thank you Aikuen. Much better." she sighs and lays back. "So. What. What happened yesterday?"
Aikuen blinks a few times, "Er... What happened yesterday?... Umm" as he wonders what she is talking about. He decides to go one way, "You passed out... and we found you on the floor, and we managed to control your fever..." hopefully that's what she wanted to know.
Garnet ohs and looks around, sitting up slowly. "Where. Where is Christopher? Is he alright?"
Aikuen smiles, "The little tyke is fine... He is right here..." he looks to Fira and smiles at both his wife, and Chris, "He was crying when we found you... but when the fever broke, he stopped crying... He slept most of the night, and gave me quite a rude awakening..." he rubs the side of his face where his whisker was pulled out.
Fira tries to keep an eye on both Chris and Aikuen, trying to keep up with the conversation but she's a little paranoid about hurting the babe so though she just catches Aik's look she see Garnet's question and just gives the pair a glance.
"Phew. Thank you Aikuen." Garnet smiles at them and then Kentar returns with food. Enough for everyone here. Even made something for the babe. "Breakfast is served." he chuckles.
Aikuen tilts his head at Fira, and chuckles, "Here, you go eat... Ill watch the little nut..." he smiles as he takes the little one, and cradles him, "Hiya Chris... Still got that whisker?" the little babe waves said whisker in the air, before going to try to grab more from Aik, "Could you bring over his food, Ill feed him... If you don't mind Garnet? Kentar?" he carefully looks at them, trying not to have more pulled out.
Fira carefully hands over the babe and slowly relaxes again a little, her eyes are still on little Chris for the moment though.
Garnet and Kentar smile at Aikuen and then hands the babe's food over, which is more or less. Mush. But Kentar made it special just for his son, so its good and proper. The stoats starts to nibble on their food at first, Fira's and Aik's on the tray near the two otters .
Will walks into the infirmary all ready to go on their trip. He's eaten already and leans on the door frame looking in at the other to see if this would be good time to ask the stoat if he's ready to go or not.
Aikuen takes the bowl, and stirs a little bit of the contents, before lifting the spoon with a little bit of the mush on it, near the little stoats mouth, "Lets see if i can remember how to do this..." he tries to feed him, but the little one refuses, "Hmm...." he tries again and again, but with no luck, "Come one Chris... it tastes great!" once more, and he fails. The otter hmms trying to think of a way to do this.
Fira picks up a scone for herself to munch on, keeping an eye on Aikuen and Chris for now "Could try eating some yourself?...Or does he need milk?" Will gets a sort of wave of the paw and a bit of her attention switches onto the rest of the room.
Will grins, "I've been ready for a while just comin t see if you are yet. There's a market down there but it's more than just that."
Aikuen looks to Fira with a small smile, "Good thing i picked up a small vat of Greensap milk at the abbey... let me try that other thing first..." he stirs the contents again and takes a bite. He chew on that a little bit, with an odd face, "That's interesting..." He looks back to Chris and tries another spoonful at the stoats mouth. Chris refuses at first, but then takes a small bite... though most of it got around his mouth than in... Aik laughs and continues to feed him small bite full's, of the mush. The otter looks really odd, with his body stature, feeding a baby stoat.
Kentar looks to Aikuen then laughs at the weird look, smiling before standing. "Alright, Will. I'm ready." he smiles. "Let me grab my pack and rapier and we can go." he nods. "C'ya everyone." he smiles.
Fira smirks just faintly at Aikuen as he eats the baby food. It clearly worked though "Not milk then" she watches the other pair leaving, another small wave offered and she's back to her lunch.
Cathudbova
Will leads Kentar out of the clearing the encompasses Moledeep and through the woods of Mossflower and to the bank of the Moss River. They walks down stream a short ways and find a section of river that's partly dammed up by debris and cross over to the other bank. Will leads the stoat down the east bank til they come upon a large mound of rocks a short ways from the river.
Kentar follows the rat and kept mostly quiet until now. "So. Where exactly are we going, Will?" he asks, looking around and adjusting the pack on his shoulders.
Will grins and motions for the stoat to follow over a lower section of the rocks. Once they're in the ring of rocks he points to a just noticable hole in the ground. "Down. We're going down," he says.
Kentar looks down and sees the hole in the ground. "Er. Down??" He asks. "Why. Why down?" he doesn't seem comfortable with going down.
Will blinks and cocks his head at the stoat, "I told you it was a underground city. How'd ya think we'd get there? There's stairs there and we go down th stairs t get t th town down there. You wanted t go."
Kentar nods a little. "Yeah. Sorry. Heh." he smiles a little. "My mind is starting to go I think." The stoat laughs. "So. What exactly is the city?"
Will is already starting down the stairs. He calls back to the stoat, "Ya got t watch your step a little cause th stairs are a little steep in spots and they go down a /long/ way. Make sure you got coins on ya t pay th guards with other wise they won't let ya in. They call this place Cathudbova and mostly bats live down here but there's lot of other sorts of beasts too just more bats than any things else. You coming?"
Kentar blinks and follows carefully behind the rat. "What? You have to pay to get into the city?" he blinks before shrugging. "Alright then." he follows, looking carefully around. He can't see anything. "I can't see a bloody thing."
Will walks down the stone staircase in the murky blue half light slowly so the stoat can keep up. "It's not too bad down here once ya get used to it. Oh and don't mess around with th statues they don't like that too much," he remarks as they make it to the bottom of the stairs.
Kentar looks around and after a few moments he reaches the bottom with Will, looking around and starting to get used to the darkness. "Interesting. Statues? Okay, I wont."
Will nods and ask before walking off, "Got some coins out and ready t go in?" He walks off out of sight and voices can be heard one is Will and the sounds like a bat's voice. Will calls back to the stoat, "Come on, you just got t walk in a straight line. Hurry up!"
Kentar pulls out some coins and quickly gets behind Will. "Yeah. Alright." he nods a little, counting out the coins, following Will without looking where he's going
"Where do you think you are going, are going?" a large bat asks standing in front of the stoat with his wings spread out to block Kentar from going any farther. The bat is dressed in a uniform of some kind that may have been very fine once but is a bit shabby now. He looks down at the stoat sternly waiting for an answer.
Kentar blinks and bangs right into the bat, falling over onto his tail. "Ow." He looks up before standing again. "Oh. Sorry. I was. Here." he holds out the coins which he figures is a standard payment. "Sorry.
The bat looks at the coins and then the stoat and asks smiling, "Ah, now what did you want, you want?"
Will is waiting on the other side of the guard out of sight of the stoat. "Tell him ya want in already!" he calls over.
Kentar blinks and ohs. "To go in." he says, pointing towards the inside.
The bat eyes the coins, "Why should I let you in, you in?" he asks.
Kentar frowns and then pulls the coins away. "You want your stinking money, thats why. And if you don't, then fine, I'll go elsewhere." he turns to leave
The guard frowns a little, "So you would like to pay to be allowed into our fair town, fair town?" He hold out a claw to for the coins, "You do wish to enter, to enter?"
Kentar paws then fills the claw with the coins. "Yes I wish to enter, to enter." he rolls his eye a little. He can play 'the game' just as well as any bat in a tight uniform can.
The guard scowls a little as the outsider mocks his accent but moves so he can pass anyway.
Kentar grins a little. "Thank you." he walks past the bat and next to Will. "That was. Interesting."
The rat looks over at the stoat a little annoyed, "No, /that/ took forever. What were you doing? All you had t do was say you want in and give him some coins. It's not that hard."
Kentar was a little annoyed himself. "Why should he have let me in, he asked. I mean, I answered him. What more do you want?" he asks.
Will shakes his head, "I'll pay for Kluna if he comes down here then. Come on." He walks farther in where the stone floor gives way to wooden platforms suspended above the blackness far below.
Kentar follows the rat and scratches his head. "Lets just look around. Buy whatever. Then go. I don't like this place already." he mutters quietly, looking around slowly then over the bridge. "Er. Long way down." The stoat mutters before following Will again
Will shrugs, "I like it down here. Ok, we need t cross here," he points to one of the many rope bridges.
Kentar looks at the bridge. "Great. Yeah. What is it with you and deep dark caverns, Will?" He asks.
The rat pauses in the middle of the bridge and shrugs, "I dunno. My mother was a mole, what ya expect?" He shrugs and continues across the bridge and waits for the stoat at the other end.
Kentar looks over the edge and gulps. "Is it safe?" He asks, putting his footpaw on the bridge to see what happens.
Will rolls his eye, "It's fine I made it and have the climbing skills of a potato! Come on!"
Kentar blinks then goes across the bridge quickly. "Sorry."
Will sighs, "You're acting like you'd jump at your own shadow. What's with you today?"
Kentar shrugs a little. "Nothing. Come on." he starts off again slowly.
Will leads the stoat farther a little father down the next cavern saying, "I'm sure Garnet and Chris 'll be fine if that's what's bothering you. Pa an Stepmum are with them."
Kentar follows the rat. "Right. Yeah, I'm just. Nervous about them is all." he nods before pausing. "Thanks though." he starts up agian.
Will nods, "We all were worried about them but they're doing good now. I like this place. I know you don't so far but just look around here and tell me if it's really all that bad down here."
Will looks puzzled but does say anything for a while. He can't see how the stoat could see it that way. It's a nice town with beasts going to and fro, peddlers here and there and dibbuns running around and playing games. But it could be the underground part that still bothers the Kentar. "... Amy an I like it. .... Well off t th market!"
Kentar nods and follows. "I'll like it after time I'm sure." he nods.
Will is a little quiet as they walk, "I guess. You don't have to. One th good things about down here though is any beast can try an sell stuff at th market. Just walk in and give it a go. Course only some have stalls but I try not t buy from them if I don't have to."
Moledeep: Infirmary
Aikuen waves to the other two as they leave, "See yah... Don't forgot about that thing i wanted..." he chuckles and wipes the excess mush off of Chris's mouth. The little one after having his full, begins to doze in the otters arms. Aik doesn't notice as he looks back to Fira, "Guess not! But we do have some just in case..." He uses his free paw and reaches out for Fira's own, "...hey..." he smiles and leans in, just like he is about to kiss her, but then he laughs and says, "...Can you hand me a scone?" he laughs some more, with a silly grin on his face.
Fira smiles faintly back at him when her paw's touched and starts to lean in a little too but the change in tactic gets a smirk and an eyeroll before she grabs a scone to put on his nose.
Aikuen continues to laughs and then the scone is placed on his nose. He looks at it, and frowns, "Thats not very nice..." he chuckles, as he pluck it off and takes a few bites of the thing, "Thanks Fi..." he scoots over closer to her, and places Chris where he was sitting propped up by a pillow. He then takes her other paw and starts to rub both of them, "Alone at last... Eh... sort of..." The sleeping Garnet gets a glance. Aik smirks at his wife, and leans in to give her a kiss, "How are you... on this fine day..." he says after he pulls out.
Fira munches on her own scone with a rather smug look, finishing the scone off while he's moving Chris and going to give his paws a little tickle when he holds hers "As alone as it gets sometimes" smirking a little before she kisses him back "I'm, alright...Garnet better today?"
Aikuen smiles and laughs a bit when she tickles his paws, and then he blinks a few times, "Garnet?... Oh right..." he laughs and looks at the sleeping stoat, "Well... she is doing a lot better... than when we found her yesterday, glad we caught it early before..." he sighs and squeezes her paws, "...yeah... She is fine..." He takes a deep breath, and hmms before giving very small peck to Fira's cheek, trying to distract himself.
Fira pats his paw lightly "Did catch it. That's the important thing...and now we're all going to have our whiskers pulled out by a small stoat for a long time to come"
Aikuen smiles at her, "Chris has got this mighty grip on him! Just like his godfather" He smirks, "He has pulled out three of mine already... Hopefully he will grow out of it... or else I'm going to need ointment for my muzzle" he rubs the side of it, "What do you think of the little one... Besides the whole whisker removal service he provides?" he says out of paw, as he goes to check on said kid. Chris is still asleep, laying on Aik's pillow. He chuckles and looks back to Fira, and starts to rub her paw again.
Fira leans over to look round Aikuen so she can see the little stoat again "Well he is rather cute. When he's not crying, don't want to imagine that sound...can't get over the smell though."
Aikuen hides a frown, as it was not exactly what he wanted to hear, but he does nod, "Well he is only three days old... Crying is just something he does... as for the smell... We... can do something about that... since we do have to babysit the little guy... we could always give him a bath... " He was hoping to hear other things from Fira... Maybe some other time.
Fira doesn't go baby crazy at the sight of them, she's more subtle than that. She shakes her head "It's not exactly a bad smell...alright, there's a terrible smell on the surface sometimes but under that. The actual baby. He's got a good scent, completely different to Garnet and Kentar" she's refined her nose a fair bit over the years. An attempt to cut down on a few sneak attacks.
Aikuen ohs, and nods with a smile, "Oh good, I thought he smelt bad... and my nose wasn't working..." he chuckles a little as he takes the little one, and places him right next to his mother, on the other cot. After a gone long while, when he thinks he lulled Fira in a sense of quiet. He turns around quickly and playfully pounces on her, trying not too actually hurt her, "Sorry, I couldn't help it..." he grins as he looks into her eyes, and kisses her, "I love you... Do you know that?... Well if not..." he smirks, "...Now you know!"
Fira watches the baby movements again. Really are sweet when they're sleeping. She's completely unsuspecting of the pounce to the point that her "Eek!" is a little deformed sounding. She laughs a second later, putting it on hold briefly for the kiss "I knew and I love you too"
Aikuen enjoys her little 'noises' no matter what they are or what they sound like, he likes them all. Aik smiles and goes to kiss her neck a little bit, "You did? How could you have ever known!" he says sarcastically, and slow so she could read the sarcasm. He grins, "And you? Love me? That... is just nonsense!" he counties on saying slowly. He smirks as he kisses her again leaning his body into it, when he realizes that they are not alone in the room. He sadly pulls away, and sighs, "You still owe me one... for when you pricked my paw the other day... Keep on your toes..." he smirks.
Fira makes so much effort to sound normal when she speaks but it just slips when she's distracted and everytime it does a new weird sound is born. Thankfully she generally has no clue it's happened. She laughs quietly at the kisses on the neck, mmm. She has to give Garnet and ministoat a glance when he stops though, still asleep but definitely not alone. She sticks her tongue out at him for the first bit "Here I hoped you'd forgotten."
Aikuen laughs when she stick her tongues at him, he runs a paw over her face and says slowly, "I forget a lot of things... But when its with you... i never forget..." He smiles, as he tickles her side a little bit, "That wasn't it! That one was just for fun!" He laughs, and rolls over, to stop pinning her to the bed. But he takes her with him as he rolls onto his back, "My lovely wife... Fira.... Fi..." he grins a little going to rub her side, "You... are the best thing to happen in my life..." He is being very lovey-dovey right now because he likes too, plus it distracts from a question that nagging at him in the back of his mind. And this kind of distraction he cant do often when there are beasts around... or awake.
Fira oofs as she's rolled about, balancing herself so can just lie on top of him, fold her arms on his chest and use them as a head rest. She smiles at him "How am I going to know if the next one is just for fun or payback oh husband of mine?" she says before leaning forwards to give his nose a little kiss.
Aikuen takes a small playful nibble at her, as she moves back after she plants one on his nose. Aik places a paw on her back, and gives it a little pat, "Oh... You will know... When it..." He smirks, and pinches her, "...happens..." He grins, "Were even!" he laughs and places both of his arms around her, just looking into her eyes. After a good long while the question finally blurts from him, "Fi... How old do you think i am?" he ask, keeping his arms around her.
Fira's smirk turns into a curious look, an eyebrow raising and she shrugs a shoulder "I don't know. Older than me, younger than the seasons themselves?" seems a little amused but still, curious.
Aikuen sighs and smiles, as he is glad she thinks that way, "Fi... Kentar brought up a interesting question the other day... and it has been nagging me... I've tried to ignore it because... well we never took it into account in our relationship... and I'm glad that we don't, but..." he slowly begins to rub her back absentmindedly, "...I'm going to die... way before you do... and it bothers me... I don't want to leave you..." he sighs, "I turned... Twenty... at the end of last spring..." he looks away for a second before looking back at her
Fira considers the number without really much thought "Heh, wife to a much older guy. I'm sure that's supposed to say something" there's another smirk, she really doesn't care "Aik I'm nine seasons. Just about ten soon enough. Sure right now you're twice my age but older we get the smaller the gap will seem... and yeah we're both going to die but you don't know it'll be before me"
Aikuen smiles a big ole' smile and places both paws on her neck to give her a passionate kiss. He then nuzzles her "Let me add another thing, to the list of reasons of why i love you so much..." he chuckles. Her age doesn't bother him. Yes, he is twice her age, but he never though of it that way... Ever, "That's what i told Kentar! I guess i wanted to hear it from you... for myself." he glances over at the stoats before back at her, "I have another question. Its totally off topic but... What do i sound like, to you?... Like, what do you think i sound like?" he asks.
Fira kisses him back before laughing loud "Oh, life's too short to spend it worrying about dying" the question makes her truly curious and a little surprised "Well...that's rather hard to say" she actually gives it a moment's thought as she looks at him "It's like asking someone who's always been blind what a cloud looks like. Been told they're white and fluffy mostly but they couldn't describe one in the sky...I don't know what anything sounds like because I don't know what /sound/ sounds like...I've been told males sound deeper and I know you don't have much of an accent but that's not really want you want to know...a question for you though. What do I sound like?"
Aikuen nods as she explains why she couldn't explain what he sounds like, "Its alright..." he then blinks at the next question, and hmms at it, "Well... Lets see.... hmm..." he crosses his paws on top of her back as he thinks, "I cant really describe it... I mean... You have a nice voice, a beautiful voice... But that's not what you want to know..." he tilts his head, "You sort of have a high, smooth voice... except when you get angry, sad, or happy... then it changes..." he thinks about if for a moment, "You sound like you don't know what you sound like... Like your deaf or something..." he hopes he doesn't offend her.
Fira is still smiling at him quite happily. It's never been something to bother her. Well, sometimes she doesn't like the things she can't do but being deaf itself doesn't bother her. Still looks a bit amused really "You with your ears find it hard to describe my voice and expect me to have better luck" going to poke him on the nose "I've really no clue what I sound like...I don't even think in sound. Deaf my entire life. It could be worse. Was a mute for a really long time, thank the patience of my dad I can speak at all
Aikuen shrugs, "I love your voice... that's all that i ever think about when i hear it... I don't think about what you sound like... at all..." he wrinkles his nose as he is poked, so he gives her a tight squeeze in retaliation, "I thought you were mute at one point in your life... Since you couldn't hear, you would not know what or how to speak... If your father was still alive, i would thank him on my hands and knees, for helping you speak..." he smiles a little bit and hmms, keeping his tight hold, to keep her very close too him.
Fira's smile falters a little at the thought of her father, she's very glad of the closeness about then. Sometimes she really needs Aik there "Pretty much everything I know was because of him...and I guess to a smaller extent my mother too but I barely remember her. Wish I remembered either of them in better times"
Aikuen nods slowly, he needs her also, more than any other beast knows "I'm glad you had a little something with your parents... My father used to beat me because he hated me... and i didn't even know my mother..." he sighs, and tilts his head, "Better times?... Like what happened? ... I can also keep your mind off it if you don't want to answer..." whenever she needs him, he will be there... he wants to be there for her.
Fira shakes her head slowly before settling it back on his chest. She feels the need to talk right now "Mum died when I was still really young. Dad never really liked to talk about it so I don't know exactly why but I guess it could have been the same thing as dad...A season or two after she died dad started to get sick. Spent basically the rest of his life getting sicker until he died. Had his good days, just less and less of them...miss him a lot"
Aikuen listens intently, feeling very sorry for her, "Fira... I'm sorry about that... But I'm glad you had your good times with him, while he was still around..." he holds her close, "I am so sorry..." he blinks a few times, and just stares at her.
Fira closes her eyes and tries to force it all back down again. Banish it back to depth of her memory. Sniffs quietly but tries to smile again a little when she looks back to him "All got a little something buried in the past...just don't tell the others all the details. I hate that feeling where everyone pities you"
Aikuen feels something at the pit of his stomach, when she sniffs. He nods and smiles, making a motion with his paws over his lips, "My lips are sealed... they shall never hear a thing from me..." he rubs at her back, trying to help her push it back down, "Well, time to create some new memories... With me and you..." he smiles and rolls over again, pinning her to the bed again, giving another kiss, "I love you... and I'm glad to make memories with you... First time we meet... the day i told you i liked you... the day i found out that i loved you...the proposal... the wedding... and a few more, that have yet to be..." He grins kissing her again, and leaning into her, slightly laughing.
Fira properly smiles, looking actually happy again, even if she eeks again as she's rolled back over. She leans back up to give him a very soft kiss of her own "Thank you. I couldn't have a better husband and friend if I looked forever"
Aikuen smiles at the kiss, "Thanks... I don't think i could have found a better wife, mate... friend... If i live to be a hundred..." he chuckles, "My life was hellish... until you came along... and filled the huge hole in me..." he rubs her nose with his own, "You make me the happiest i have ever been... ever, ever, ever, ever..." the last part he sounds like a little Dibbun.
Fira laughs quietly at the ever evers "Only a hundred? I gave you forever" she aims another little kiss at him "And ever ever"
Aikuen leans in, and playfully nibbles on her neck, before he changes his answer, "I love you... forever... and ever, and ever... no matter what..." he smiles and says, "Once more around, i promise..." he rolls over again, letting her rest her paw on his chest. He places his arms around her tightly and yawns, "I think its time for small nap...what do you think? The stoats will be fine, and i think we deserve it eh?" he chuckles and gives her a small kiss, "I Love you, and i will see you for supper..." and he slowly drifts off, with his wife...mate... friend...love... in his arms
Cathudbova
Kentar nods a little and slowly follows into the markets. He stops dead in his tracks and looks around at the market. "Wow. This place is. Wow.
Will grins, "Now you're getting it. Look at whatever you want. I .... had an early breakfast ..." The rat walks off toward one of the food vendors leaving the stoat to his own devices, though he does stay in sight of him.
Entering from the upper walkway, is a small crowd including a little bat, and a small mole that must be a friend of hers. The bat doesn't fly, but uses the walkway all the way down, so that she might talk with her friend, apparently. They part company once down into the main cavern, and the bat begins to venture among the stalls.
Kentar wows then nods a little. "Don't go to far Will." he says before starting to look around, wondering if there are any weapon vendors. But first, he goes off to find something nice to buy for Garnet
The rat buys some of the local cuisine to much on while he looks over some pottery. He looks over the pieces very closely at times chatting to the merchant and asking questions about how certain details had been made and what sort of paints were used
Alice has wandered among the art and jewellery. She's browsing, when a small scuffle breaks out at the next stall. The small bat purses her lips, and adjusts her bonnet in annoyance, trying to ignore the scuffle as she focuses on the trinkets in front of her. A small, amber brooch taking quite some looking at
Kentar sees the scuffle and rolls his eye but in the process he spots the jewelry vender. He oohs and goes over, starting to look at some of the items, standing next to the bat, not paying much attention.
Will thanks the pottery merchant and walks along looking to see where the glass wares may be. He also keeps an eye on where Kentar is so he won't loose sight of the stoat.
The bat looks up as somebeast stands next to her. And sees a stoat. She coughs a very small cough and returns her eyes to the jewellery, though she keeps an ear on the disagreement a stall over. "Always there must be a disruption, 'ruption..." She complains, half to herself.
Kentar looks to the bat and chuckles a little. "Don't worry. Can't happen all the time." he smiles a little after sort of hearing her. He goes back to inspecting the items, before picking one up and holding it out. "How much?" the beast behind the counter type thing eyes the stoat. "Seventy six." the stoat blinks. "Sixty." "Seventy." "Sixty five and no more." "Deal." The coins are exchanged and he puts away the item, looking over some more.
Will makes his way over toward Kentar still not having found any glass vases yet. "Having a good time?" he asks.
"He would have settled for lower, lower..." Alice decides to inform the stoat, a little unhelpfully. "I think you could have won him down to sixty in the end, the end..." She blinks a little as the rat joins them, but nods, her bonnet bobbing, politely
Kentar looks down at Will and smiles. "Great time. Bought Garnet a great silver broach." he smiles then chuckles at the bat. "Really?" he smiles. "I'll try next time." he chuckles a little before going back to going over the items. "You think Fira would like that?" he points to a silver necklace.
Will shrugs, "probably ... why?" He keeps a look at for any glass merchents he may see, "Pa wanted a vase a big glass one ... haven't seen any yet but even if I did I don't know if we'd be able t get it back home with us in one piece."
She nods to the stoat again. It's hard for a bat not to eavesdrop, but she makes a convincing effort. Meanwhile, the scuffle escalates, spilling from one stall, it swells either side. Alice finds herself knocked forwards, clumsily, before it recedes again, the main participants, apparently disappearing into one of the dark fissures.
Kentar looks to the bat as she was knocked forward, the stoat gently placing his paws on her shoulders. "Hey watch it you stupid idiots!" he calls out to the scufflers before looking down to the bat. "Are you alright?" he asks
Will scowls a bit in the direction of the fighting beast when the bat is knocked down but since Kentar is taking care of her he doesn't say anything to her right off. He lets his brother deal with it and looks over the jewelry some to distract himself.
"I'm fine, fine." The bat says, rather quickly, even the echo is clipped. But softens as she adjust her bonnet, again. "It is like I said; always a disruption, disruption... Thankyou, you..." She looks over at where the beasts have gone, before looking back at the stall, though her attention's not quite there anymore.
Kentar nods a little. "Your welcome." He smiles softly before going back to the items, he take that necklace and hms. "How much?" there was no reply for a while. "Thirty." the stoat blinks then eyes it. He rubs the silver hard and gets it warm to see what will happen, if its paint or not. Its not. Its real. Odd though. "Done." he pays the vendor and sets it away.
Will looks over the shiny metal things before him not quite seeing them. Hearing the stoat's voice he blinks and looks over to him. Not seeing anything he wants to spend money on here he moves on passed the stall, just looking around at everything.
"How far is your home, home?" The bat has, apparently, followed the rat. "The merchants here are the same as any other; if they have the means, then you pay them extra, and they would help you to get an item to your home, your home." She pauses, then with an almost embarrassed look aside. "I... cannot help but listen, sometimes, and I know you would like glass, glass..." Another pause. "A glassblower needs a cart. So this applies, applies..."
The rat pauses hearing the bat speak to him. "... not so much far exactly as ... up. Outside that is. And what my pa wanted is kinda large." He shrugs, "He said not t good t a lot of trouble for it."
"There are other ways to buy, to buy." The bat replies, listening and nodding. "Talk to a glassblower and ask if they might sell to you above. They are not all bound to this one market, you understand, stand..?
Kentar buys a few more items before going over to Will. "Well. Got something for Aik, Garnet, and Fira. Also got something for Kluner. Now. What do you want?" he asks, before looking to the bat, not realizing he interrupted. "Oh. Sorry for interrupting."
Will nods, "Thanks. I'll think about it," he says to the bat-maid. Under his breathe he mutters"Otters, always gotta make things difficult." He blinks a few times seeing Kentar there all the sudden. "Huh?" he asks not quite catching what the stoat had said.
Alice is becoming curious. There are names and gifts and connections to be explored, but of course, it would be impolite to ask. And she feels a little bad for standing there. "Excuse me, me..." Her bonnet bobs, and she moves, not far away, to purchase a small snack at an insect vendor.
Kentar looks at Alice and nods with a smile. "No problem." he smiles, watching her for a moment. "Hm." the stoat then looks around, thinking quietly to himself.
Will looks at the stoat a little couriously, "What where you asking again? I didn't catch it th first time, sorry."
Kentar sighs. "Will. I said. For the third time. That you can have anything you want here. I'll buy whatever for you."
Alice buys a little package of crickets, just three, which have been dipped and cooked in something sweet. She nibbles on one while she watches the two interact. Apparently they're interesting.
Will ohs, "Oops." He walks father along than grins back at the stoat, "What's th occasion, Big Brother? Why ya buying stuff for us all th sudden? You don't have to or anything ya know."
Kentar chuckles and follows the rat, grinning a little. "Am I not aloud to buy anything for my family?" he asks with a chuckle. "I'm in a good mood. So. I do nice things when I'm in a good mood." he's not aware he's being watched.
Alice would be extremely embarrassed if they were aware. She's been taught that staring at strangers without them knowing is very rude. But, they're different to the usual cavern dwellers and Alice's friends, so they're interesting.
Will doesn't notice the bat watching them either and keeps walking. "Soooo you said you'll buy me anything I want or something like that, correct?" he asks Kentar.
Kentar chuckles a little. "Most anything. Anything that wont hurt you." He smiles. "But yeah." the stoat chuckles a little and walks along.
Alice starts to follow. She thinks she has an excuse, though she's not sure if it is an excuse, or becoming an actual reason for following them now. She knows she can't stay unnoticed if she wanted to; that bonnet is a little too distinctive, and she refuses to take it off
Will nods, "Most anything. That would make a difference. Hmmm ..." He looks around so far he hasn't seen anything he'd especially wanted, then he /finally/ spies a stall selling glass wares. "Ah, they do have glass stuff here after all," he says, "Want t look? Pa wants that vase he said and uh ... that bat-maid said there may be a way t get one but from th sound of it it won't be easy."
Kentar chuckles. "Will. I'll say this. I will buy you anything. Anything." he nods then smiles before nodding. "I'll see about the vase. You go find something, come back to me, and we'll go buy it." he smiles. "And take that bat maid that's following us." he motions towards her. He picked her up a few moments ago.
Alice is motioned at. And she can hear them too, if she concentrates. She quickens her step as she's mentioned, to catch up to them. "I am sorry, sorry..." She apologises "I realised that you were kind to me but I didn't know your names, names..."
The rat grins, "You should be very careful about what you say. And Pa gave me th money for buy th vase with so you may want it before we all split up." He pulls a bag out of his pack and hands it to the stoat. It's full of the gold coins Aik had given him. He sees Alice coming up to them and smiles at her, "It's fine, Miz. We don't know your name either." He chuckles a little and holds out a paw, "I'm Will, pleasure t meet ya."
Kentar chuckles and smiles. "Will. Anything." he grins before taking the bag. He stores it and looks towards Alice. "Its no bother." he then gives a small bow. "I'm Kentar." he smiles before looking around. "I'll be back in a second."
Alice offers out a wing to meet the rat's paw and eyes the small bow of the stoat with happy surprise. "It's a pleasure to meet you both. Thankyou, again, again..." She chews at her top lip, then tilts inclines her head slightly. "My name is Alice. You are from above, aren't you?"
Will gingerly takes the bat's wing tip in his paw and shakes it, "Again good t meet you Miz Alice. Yeah we're from 'above'. Not too far from here really." He looks up and the stoat is gone. "Looks like my big brother's already off t get th vase. I'm gonna look around some more. You can come along if ya want," he says.
Alice shuffles awkwardly, and looks up at the walkway above, staring at the slight changes in the light and shadow. "I... I wish that I could, I could... But I shall displease if I am late back. Thankyou for the help, and the offer, the offer..."
The rat nods, "It's ok. Maybe another time. I'm sure t come down here again and bring my nephew t see this place, Kentar's older son that is. Bye."
Will waves at the bat flies off. He walks around some more trying to think of something the stoat could by him that he couldn't make himself and could find a use for. He passes back by the jewelry stall again and looks over the items for sale again, at first out of boredom but then he spies a few interesting looking interlocking rings and become distracted.
Kentar spends a little while by himself arranging the vase. He paid much more then he wanted to get it made and carried outside for them. So when he finds Will he nods. "Well, I got the vase. It will be brought outside for us when we leave.
By this time Will had given in a bought one of the gimmal rings as the stall keeper called them which he prompt put in his pack for safe keeping. By this time he had also thought up sometime for the stoat to buy him if since he kept insisting on it. He looks up when the stoat speaks, if it weren't so noised he'd have heard him come up, and nods, "Good. Pa'll be glad we were able t get it. If he doesn't like th cost for some reason explain t him how hard it'd be for us t take it up th stairs." He remembered the otter had said not to go to any trouble and had noticed the stoat wasn't the best a bargaining from what he'd seen. Not that he was much better but he had less money at his disposal to wave around. "You done then?" he asks the stoat.
Kentar chuckles. "There's four things now I need to get. One thing for you, one for Amy, one for Racky and something for me." he blinks and scratches his ear.
Will nods, "I know what I want if you still want t buy me something." He points to a slim metal chain that's meant to be worn around the neck. The items at the stall have been reorganized since the stoat was last here which is normal but now there is a sizable collection of clay and wax figurines at one end. Since they are all of various surface dwelling beasts they've drawn some attention from the other market goers.
Kentar looks to the chain then nods a little. "Alright then. If its what you'd like." he smiles a little, examining it before looking to the vendor. "How much?" he asks a little
The stall keeper picks up the chain and looks it over a little, the rat had already been pestering him about it earlier, he sets it back down keeping a paw/wing on it. "Seventy," he says giving the rat a quick look before turning to the stoat.
Kentar hrms. "I could make one for much cheaper. 45." he says after looking at it again.
The cavern beast shakes his head, "Sixty."
Kentar thinks for a few moments. "Fifty." the stoat replies simply.
The stall keeper says, "Fifty eight."
"Deal," the merchant says. He picks up the chain and waits for the stoat to pay him before handing the necklace over."
Kentar pays up the fifty five then takes the necklace. "There." he then hands it down to Will with a smile. "Anything else you want?" he asks.
Will shakes his head, "Nope. I'm good got everything I need for a while. Don't much care what ya get Racky but something that isn't too noise would be nice."
Kentar is gone for a few minutes. He comes back and then slips the hidden items into a pack. "Alright. That's it. We'll meet the vase beasts above ground. Lets get out of here, get the vase, then get home." he nods.
Will nods some but doesn't ask what the stoat bought just yet. The pair make their way back through the market to the same rope bridge they'd crossed during the day. They cross it again and walk back toward the stairs. None of the guards stop them for anything or seem to mind that they're leaving, probably because it's obvious that they aren't locals.
Kentar finds the beast who brought the vase up for them just outside the entrance. "Here yah' are, mate. C'ya." they go off into the darkness. The stoat nods and picks the vase up as best as he can. "Alright. That's it." he nods
Mossflower Woods
Will looks over at the vase with stoat's legs a moment. "Need any help with that?" he asks.
Kentar shakes his head. "I'm fine, thanks Will. I can manage." he smiles.
Will shrugs, "Ok. If you're sure." He walks back along the shore the spot where they need to cross the river. Here the water is partly blocked and thus slows to a more sluggish flow than in most places along the river which can be dangerous to cross at, this is also one of the places where Will often goes to get clay from. Will crosses over the river and waits for the stoat to come over with the vase.
Kentar nods. "I'm sure. Thanks though." he smiles as he follows the rat, looking around a little as he carries almost everything. "Aside from the big dark tunnel thing at the start, I quite like that place." he smiles.
Will smiles, "See it's nice down there, unless you go lower than we did but we didn't. It gets rougher down where there aren't any guards."
Kentar nods a little. "I really wouldn't mind going lower sometime. I need to improve my fighting." he chuckles a bit with a small grin.
"Th lowers I think they call it or something like that. Guess ya could say it's th 'bad' side of town but I don't mind it I used live in those kinda places ... a lot. If you do go down there there's a ferret called Rip down there or was yesterday he's about your size or close enough maybe he'd be up for a fight. Give him somethin' t do other than throw stuff at me," Will grins. Soon they've passed the river and the rat slips into the woods. He knows he way around this area rather well and never understood how other beasts, mainly otters, always got lost so easily in it.
Kentar nods a little. "Right. Well. I'll find him. I'll also make him pay for throwing stuff at you." he grins as he continues to follow.
Will rolls his eye, "He was bored and throwing stuff at all of us. He just did it t me a little more cause I don't live there. He's not that bad really, he keeps th others in line and keep em from getting picked on too much by th others down there. Aren't many mice or ferrets or anything down there so the ones that /are there/ stick together pretty close."
Kentar nods a little. "Well. I'll still find him and challenge him." he chuckles a little. "Winner gets something." he shrugs. "Friendly contest can't really be all that bad." he nods a little
Will shrugs, "Just be careful. No guards down there t enforce things and no otters either t help ya like when we had our friendly sparing match. Beasts down /there/ don't care much for rules."
Kentar nods and walks along then chuckles. "Right. I remember that match. It was fun." he smiles. "We really need to try it again." he smiles, the stoat following along still.
Will says, "Yeah it was. Don't know if either of us actually won or not." They draw near the clearing to Moledeep before long and Will pauses a little while, "You see that grove of trees over there? At one end there's a giant willow tree. We're gonna have th wedding there instead of th rose garden. ... And Amy wanted me t ask you if you'd do th talking part and I /know/ it's not til Spring but if I ask you now and tell her your answer she might stop asking me if I've asked you yet.
Kentar nods a little then nodding. "Yeah. I know the tree. And you are? Oh. Cool." and he then blinks and smiles softly. "Oh? You want me to do the speaking? I'd be honored to do so Will." he smiles widely. "Thank you for asking me."
The rat starts walking again heading for the clearing to Moledeep, "I didn't say that. I said /Amy/ wanted me t ask you. I would've asked Abbot Nic but she doesn't know him and likes you better."
Kentar chuckles. "Well. Thank you for asking me anyways." he smiles softly then continues to follow the rat, carrying the vase
"Welcome. Probably have you do it anyway since I have no idea where Nic is now. I heard that when his wife came t th Abbey with Martin's sword she gave th sword over t th Abbey in exchange for Nic and then dragged him off t where ever she came from," he grins a little picturing it in his mind.
Kentar nods a little then chuckles. "That does sound quite funny." the stoat laughs a little with a smile.
Moledeep
Will nods, "Yeah cause he's old, really old, past ancient maybe." He head down into the tunnel and for the storage chamber to put his pack away though he fishes the other half of the ring out of it before putting it away. The ring is put in his pocket for now
The stoat laughs again then nods. "When we get into the infirmary, remind me to hand out the gifts." he smiles before going off. He follows the rat into the chamber then sets the vase down. "Right. So. Where's Amy?" he grins. "I'll give her her gift first.
Will nods, "Yeah cause he's old, really old, past ancient maybe." He head down into the tunnel and for the storage chamber to put his pack away though he fishes the other half of the ring out of it before putting it away. The ring is put in his pocket for now

Will turns around having just put the ring in his pocket. He doubts the stoat saw it. "Uh ... I don't know. Might be in her room or what Pa still calls th cellar."
Kentar nods some and then goes towards the hall. "Lets find her then." he nods.
Amethyst is curled up on a cot by the door where she's been since she became aware that the otters were sleeping. She had over heard some of what they'd said earlier. Being the only other awake beast around had made it easy to listen in on them without meaning too.
Will would really like to ask what Kentar got her but he can't think of a good way to do so with her present. He half hopes she's asleep.
Amethyst doesn't move, "You're back. Do you know what /time/ it is? You were gone all day. And I was here .... with otters. Though I suppose they would have been less entertaining if they'd been aware that I was here. And how was your day? Have fun? And what did you bring me? I /know/ I heard you say you brought me something." She sits up slowly, "So what is this something you have brought me to ease the otterness of my day?"
Kentar smiles and pulls out a gold amulet. The amulet is of a sun rise. "A golden amulet of a sunrise." he smiles. "The vendor said it brought its wearer good luck but I don't believe it. However, it is still beautiful all the same." he smiles softly. He still didn't tell Will what he got for himself
Amethyst blinks, "Kentar, you bought this? .... You have a death wish don't you." She sighs, "Hand it over I do thank you and I will accept it and would like to look at it anyway, but you really shouldn't have done this."
Several thoughts go through Wills mind on seeing what Kentar had gotten Amy none pleasant. Fearing what Aikuen would do to him if he should actually attack the stoat however forces himself to keep quiet and he leaves the room, slamming the door on his way out
Kentar blinks. "Excuse me?" he growls out. "I go out, I spend my money on a gift, and I get a 'You have a death wish don't you?'?" he frowns. "What the heck is you problem?" he then jumps as the door slams. "What the hell just happened!?"
Amethyst sighs, "Kentar, it's a wonderful gift but ... it's ah ... too nice. Understand? My necklaces are clay and wood. The first was free and second was cheap, very cheap. I will take it since it's from you but if you want to get me something again don't spend sooo much please. I don't like it because it's gold I like it because it'd from you. Same as the jewelry I have already. I like it because of who gave it to me not what it's made of. .... Can't really blame him for being mad at you though."
Kentar blinks and gets this real confused look, but its not like Amy can see. "What the hell do you mean you can't blame him for getting mad? I got something gold for everyone. So what?" he frowns. "Forget this. Do what you want to it, I don't care. Next time I wont bother buying anything for anyone!" he shouts then growls before storming out. He goes into the sleeping hall, into the mole hall, then outside, then into the forest. Gone for the evening. If he passed Will, he stopped for only a moment. "You idiot, you stupid rat!" he shouts even if Will isn't in the room, before he left.
Will had passed the stoat and had fought back the urge to punch him as he made his way to the infirmary. He sits down next to Amy.
The amulet lays on the floor where the maid had tossed it when the stoat had gone out in a rage. She lays back down. "Maybe he'll calm down and come to his senses later," she mumbles closing her eyes.
Will sighs, "Maybe. .... he .... should know better! Who does he ....." He flops down on the cot next to her tired from the trip and now angry at the stoat.
Amethyst reaches over to rub Will's back some, "Sooo you do anything interesting today? No? Me neither."
Will moves her arm and pulls her closer to him, "He's stupid. Maybe he didn't mean anything by it but .... he's still stupid. .... I ... I kinda got you something too ... not gold but I think you'll like it." He takes the ring from his pocket and then takes her left paw and slides the ring onto her claw, "It's not th important one but it's still something and there's a trick to it. There's two of em. I got one," he pulls out he other ring on the chain, "and now you have one. And they go together t make a nicer one .... but you don't get th half I got til Spring. I know you said you wanted gold if you were t get a ring at all but .... Are you mad?"
Amethyst feels the ring on her left ring claw and then the chain around his neck and other ring on it. "I'm not mad. Fine it's not gold, I'll live. It's heavy. What is it?"
Will grins, "Iron. They won't break like gold would. And it was expensive .... very."
Amethyst smirks, "I'd hope so. .... I love it. ... And I love you." She snuggles against him and is soon asleep.
Will blushes a little and hugs her as she drifts off, "Glad you like it. Them," he chuckles. He rests his head on top of hers and whispers, "Just don't make too big a deal out of it when you no doubt show it off t Pa an Stepmum. It's not nice t upset them too much."
