Jedrick Log: With Xander and then an annoying LP hare shows up

Halyard Village: Sand Lot

It's hard to say from whence this particular lot came. While the rest of Main

Street is lined with buildings, this small section between two buildings

remains clear. Despite the sandy, rocky soil, a pathetic sort of grass grows

in stingy patches throughout. There are signs of life here, though. Two logs

line either side of the lot, facing each other, the bark worn away in places.

They appear to be makeshift benches. on the short sides of the lot, two sets

of posts have been erected opposite each other, the posts approximately a

dozen feet apart.

Jedrick has chosen this spot as it’s out of the way as he watches the badger “You will move faster or else your be sorry you didn't" He has sent up things to jump over as well, a sort of..test area?

Xander pants as he runs, weight down with heavy things on his back as he goes to jump and barely makes one jump, the other couple he does good at. He balances on a log and goes to climb a post with old swords stuck in it and climbs back down and does this a couple times before going back to the wildcat and bow to him and stands as still as he can.

Jedrick watches as he growls, he hands him a simple blade and gets his own out and faces him as he grins "Attack me!" He stands ready and waiting for the attack.

Xander frowns but does as he is told, he use to always drop the blade but he can hold it better now but his aim is still a little off as he goes to slice at the wildcats side.

Jedrick sidesteps and goes to take a stab at the badger's shoulder "Faster!..With more power!"

Xander eyes go wide as he manages to block the attack and about falls over, he keeps his balance and tries to slice at Jedrick's legs, he is getting better with the blade and that’s sort of sad for his age.

Jedrick hisses as a cut forms on his legs and his claws come out as he spins and pounces at the badger, his sword is sideways and for now not aimed at the badger.

Xander yipes and tumbles out of the way, he gets some claw marks on his shoulder and cries a little as it hurts, he does his best to not let the tears fall but they still do, "I..I want to quit now!"

Jedrick glares "No! This is un called for in a battle you cannot say oh please stop, you are foolish! You fight or you die, you live or die based on your actions!"

Xander starts to back away and then gulps and stands taller "I...sorry sir, I am sorry." He says alert and watches the wildcat closely.

Jedrick watches him and grins and goes in for the attack again, showing no mercy at all! If the badger is seriously hurt its, well its own fought.

Xander jumps sideways but keeps his balance as the paw with the blade just barely blocks the wildcat's sword, he keeps his balance on the sand and rolls once but regains his stance and snorts.

Jedrick grins as he stands "You are learning, you are doing well my pet. That is all for today..stand before me"

Xander knows better than to not disobey as he quickly is in front of the wildcat standing straight and tall, paws at his side and ever alert.

Jedrick checks the claw marks and applies a herbal mixture and nods “Good Xander, very good. The next part of training is soon and I know your do well for me"

Xander nods "Yes sir, or course sir" He stays still as the claw marks are looked at "I will do my best sir"

Jedrick nods “Of course you will, you get stronger each day, and taller as well. Faster even"

Xander stays alert and just listens as he is spoken to, he is stronger and taller, he knows and maybe faster as well due to serious training, so far a lot of lifting and movements, tests of speed and learning to keep balance during a fight.

Jedrick nods "You can take the weight off, soon it will be more or maybe less but it helps you gain strength, AS will climbing the Cliffside, your get better at that and faster going up and down, and who knows.....maybe a chance to have some low level fighting in the fighting pits in town" He smirks at this.

Xander tries to not look concern and forces himself to not frown as he gives a simple nod and that’s is, quiet and alert and listening

Jedrick circles him and nods "Yes soon, but not tonight"

Xander nods again, it’s all he can do is nod. He keeps quiet and seems glad he won’t go anywhere tonight as he is tried, but he doesn't show he is tried.

Jedrick puts his blade away and gets the one from Xander "Ok Xander, let us go elsewhere"

Halyard Village: Main Street

This is the main street of Halyard Village. However, for being the main

street, its not terribly impressive. Like most of the rest of the village,

the homes and buildings that line this street are sound, at best. The purpose

of the architecture is obviously efficiency, not elegance. The buildings are

short and squat, none any higher than two levels, and a good few windows are

covered in a fine grit; a combination of salt, sand, and dirt. The foremost

profession of the village becomes apparent with a simple glance around,

fishing nets and other such paraphernalia littering the area out front of

many of the buildings. So far as the living component of the street, a few

vendors are usually out and about, attempting to sell their products, among

them fish and other such foodstuffs, but without much success. It is, after

all, a small village.

Jedrick walks along the streets, making sure someone stays close and with him at all times as he speaks “I have decided, more intense training starts tomorrow, how that sound?"

Xander frowns under the cloak, he doesn’t like that idea but nods “It sounds good sir" No slowness on an answer, it’s wise to answer the wildcat right away. He watches beasts pass them quietly.

Jedrick glances around, ever alert "Yes fighting pits low level at first, then work your way up an excellent way to train you, to be the best, your get to the point of being feared one day"

Adrian is in town again, pursuing his little investigation into a certain wild cat. Currently, he's going up the street, asking various vendors whether the description rang any bells. "He's about... Yea high. A face so ugly, only 'is mothah could love 'im... Yes, hideous, ya seen 'im?"

Xander frowns he doesn’t want to be feared but replies still "Yes sir..Corse” he peers over at the hare and frowns.

Jedrick glares towards the hare "Wait a Long Patrol Hare..those are a problem" He sneers "Your learn to deal with them, won't you?"

Adrian is ever alert and wary, as he talks to a fruit seller. "Yah wouldn't likely miss tha blightah... He used ta have a weasel with 'im, but a friend o' mine beat tha snot outta tha weasel... Lissen, if'n ya see tha cat, let tha Patrol know... He's wanted on suspicion of slavery." And then he turns, moving up the street, his paw resting on the hilt of his rapier at all times.

Xander frowns, but he stays quiet and close to the wildcat, he is still tried from earlier training but has learned to stay alert to whats around him.

Jedrick chuckles "This is where you watch and learn, maybe learn a few things as well" He walks closer to the hare, a hamster sees the wildcat and starts to go warn Adrian but his actions are soon stopped as the wildcat seen the hamster too as the poor hamster falls over with a dagger buried in his back. A gasp and scream from a ferret and the wildcat rolls his eyes and acts normal as he places a hood over his head and speaks to the badger “Quiet...or else"

Adrian turns immediately, when hears the scream, and draws his rapier. "Wot on earth is goin' on 'ere?" He spots the hamster, and frowns. "Murdah. Anybeast here see wot 'appened? ANSWER ME!"

Xander bits his lower lip, he holds back the yell he wants to do and looks down at the road quietly, this is not going well and he just wants out of here.

Jedrick grins as he goes to pull Xander away from the crowd, others are leaving too as this scares some and they fear for their lives, the ferret seems to have no clue what happen "I..I don't know sir hare, it wasn't me"

Adrian is initially suspicious of the ferret... But it seems too easy. He scans the crowd, looking for anything out of place as they disperse.

Xander almost trips as he is pulled aside but keeps up as he wordlessly follows the wildcat and gets away from the crowd of beasts, he speaks "You...you didn't have to..k...killl.."

Jedrick eyes flash anger, well this may be bad but he is not one to let something slip as his claws go out and he slaps at the badger's face "Do NOT speak unless spoken to!!" He growls and yanks him aside to an alleyway.

Xander yelps out and tears form, he mutters a sorry over and over again as he is pulled to the alley, but he manages to not let the tears fall as his left cheek is now bleeding as 3 claw marks form on it, luckily it missed his eye.

Adrian doesn't give up so easily, himself. He slips through the crowd, still looking for anything suspicious.

Jedrick presses him agasit the wall as he glares at him, “You will learn to be quiet, or face pain. I am the one who decides will you live or will you die, do you understand me? “His ears listen for any trouble.

Xander gulps as he speaks quietly “I understand sir, it won’t happen again sir." He usually doesn’t let things slip like this, but he disliked seeing the hamster die.

Adrian sighs in frustration. Whoever it was that killed the hamster was clearly long gone, the crowd having quickly dispersed, leaving the street almost deserted. The hare kneels, and removes the dagger from his lifeless body, and studies it. "Eh, well, sorry mate. Didn't mean for any beast else ta die, wot..."

Jedrick lets go of the badger, "Good..now we need to get home" He peers around and his eyes land on the hare and a low growl forms but he stays where he is for now.

Xander frowns but nods, it's not home to him really but for now it is. he stays quiet and in the alleyway as the wildcat looks around the corner. He lays a paw on his check and looks at the lines of blood from the cuts and frowns.

Adrian perks an ear. He looks up, and scans the street, side to side, and slowly stands, not satisfied that he's alone.

Jedrick looks ready to try and slip behind the hare, “And this is called...fun" He goes to slip from the alley

Xander whimpers, he stays put not wanting to watch anything else today. He stays quiet and where he is.

Adrian certainly hears that, but likely has no time to react, little more than whirl around and raise his blade. "Halt, who goes there?"

Jedrick had been ready to stab down and end the hare's life but as the hare raises the blade its meet with a loud clank as it hits the wildcat's blade, the cat hisses low and backs up, blade at ready "Ahhh you were supposed ta die, oh well another time perhaps"

Xander stays quiet, he is too afraid to make a sound and let anyone else know where he is, the claw makes have caked with blood now as he stays quiet and lets a couple tears fall.

Adrian blinks, and takes a defensive stance. "Well, I was lookin' for ya, ya know..." He doesn't like this, not one bit. Two-on-two at the tavern was a lot better than one-on-one here in the street. "Ya know, yah didn't 'ave ta leave me a present of a deadbeast... A greeting cahd woulda sufficed."

Jedrick chuckles "Well see that’s not my way hare and looking for me, why is that long ears?" He grins and so far doesn’t strike.

Xander stays where he is, for now and just frowns. Maybe there is a way to just get back to Jedricks home, as he rather not be here.

Adrian keeps his rapier raised, ready to deflect an attack if necessary. "Oh, yah know, tha usual, cat... I just fell completely in love wi' ya... Thought we might, I dunno, get married, have an *adorable* little family, wot..."

Jedrick smirks, "You long patrol hares are interesting, I give ya that, it’s too bad my pet is not ready to truly fight" He grins speaking a little louder “But he will be, he rests at home" And he best be there also he thinks.

Xander backs away, he knows when he has to listen, and there is a longer way out the other exit of the alley to get to the house, weather he wants to or not he goes, fearful of if he doesn’t'

Adrian narrows his eyes at that, his joking at an end. "Aye, I think we oughta have a nice little chat about that... Yah stole 'im from Redwall, didn't yah?"

Jedrick grins "I did...see he was sold to me and I paid well for him from my brother...gold an a poison he wanted to take down some leader, hard to detect on too till it’s too late. So what you seek...is mine"

Adrian grips his blade's hilt harder, his anger rising. "Nobeasts belong ta anybeast, ya foul scum. I don't know why I don't just gut yah where yah stand right now... Go one, gimme a reason why I shouldn't?"

Jedrick smirks "Cause if you did you would never find my pet. You will have a hard time getting him from me, he is stronger than he was when I first bought him, be a weapon and a dangerous one in the right paws" He chuckles an cold chuckle “In my paws///a stripe dog in my power....now wouldn’t that be funny in a couple seasons, a badger killing ..hares"

Jedrick says, "He obeys me, he..fears me..he listens to me"

Adrian grits his teeth, his anger just barely in control, but he keeps it in check. "Lissen, Cat... Yah life be forfeit. If'n I had an army o' hares wi' me right now, I'd arrest ya an' haul ya in. Seein' as I don't... An as I reckon we're too evenly matched... I'm forced ta let yah go... But you mahk mah words, scum... I'll be watchin' for yah...I an' mah friends. All of us. Yah bettah watch yah back, cause yah life'll be forfeit othahwise... Now, yah bettah get outta mah sight, 'cause if'n yah're still here in the next two minutes, I *will* strike yah dead..." His voice is deadly serious.

Jedrick chuckles “Your funny hare, if I wanted to I could make you dead in mere moments and then send your head back to your friends...now I have a pet to...train, my pet and no one else's. Good night hare" He walks away with a chuckle and heads back to his house, he lets the hare live, for now.

Adrian lets the cat pass... But he has a vendetta now. And he has to inform the Badger Lord of the new development.
