Is She The Last Otter Alive!!!!???-Camp Willow Plot Log

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

This log mentions Zurrgg and his friends a little bit but its mainly my otter Raisa being found and helped to the abbey=

=In the woods close to Redwall Abbey

Zee had rested very little as he hunted, yes hunted Zurrgg. He had his nephew's armor on and some padding on his arms and legs, and his cane with hidden raspier at his side as he walked along ever alert for any sounds or trouble.

Zurrgg is not in sight, least yet, but 10 of his followers are. Two foxes and eight rats are looking for who knows what with blades and very little armor on them. One of the foxes has better armor on and seems to be leading the small group “Boss says ta find the old badger and anyone else looking for him and we are ta kill them”

Zee grips his sword and looks around as he scans for trouble makers.

An otter is nearby, one of very few who survived the horrible massacre of Camp Willow. He is a fighter, but his good arm has a bad gash down the side of it and he has caked blood on his clothing.

Raisa carries a very injured dibbun otter and out of sheer luck did she run into warrior otter “We..we have to find Redwall. We have to get to safety..” She looks at the seriously injured dibbun ”She needs help or she is gonna die.”

Sadly for them they are heard by the vermin gang, the rats surround them as the foxes chuckle “Some beast going die we should help speed that up gents!” The two foxes laugh at this and right away run the female otter who is holding the dibbun.

Raisa screams loudly and tries to run away, she holds the weakening dibbun close to her chest as one dagger slashes into her shoulder and she tenses in pain. This just adds to her other wounds of a cut up leg, a gash of dried blood on her forehead and a broken arm. ”Leave us alone…alone!!” Tears go down her face, she has been through enough to cause nightmares and now this, is this how it’s to end.

Zee hears the scream and frowns, he rushes towards the sound and with a turn and click his blade is free, he growls as he sees the vermin rats and foxes.

The warrior otter is the first to react, he flicks his dagger and a rat falls with a dagger to the heart, a 2nd and last dagger does the same to a 2nd rat. Two down and six to go as he steps back and uses a longbow he has and releases an arrow and hits a rat in the neck, its dead but as he reaches for arrow number two the other five rats are upon him and slice sing and stabbing. The warrior otter manages to kick one in the neck, breaking it hopefully.

The three rats are dead and a forth dies as his neck snaps. But there are still four other rats and the two foxes. Three rats try and finish off the warrior otter and the last rat with two foxes chase the female and dibbun ”Come on it won’t hurt much, just a lot!!”

Raisa screams more and shivers, if she keeps running she will run right into the badger as she is not thinking where to go, just to go..to run away and hide and flee and live.

Zee comes to an almost halt as the otter maid just about slams into him, he snorts and pushes her behind a tree ”Thar lass, stay with de young one as I handle this” His eyes narrow on the rat “How dare ye try to harm a maid and dibbun” He slices at the rat to behead it. As a fox comes forwards he slices at his chest.

The otter warrior manages to kill another rat but the last two slits his throat and the otter’s eyes close in death.

The two rats look over at the rat fighting the badger loses his head and the fox gurgles blood as his chest is sliced open and he twitches once and falls sideways dead. The fox who seemed to led backs off and goes to grab the two rats “Come on, we need to get back to the boss!” He turns to the badger “We’re going to tell Zurrggg you and a couple otters killed some of our group then your gonna pay or rather the brats will!!” Wicked laughter is heard as he rushes off. “Their blood is on your paws now stripedog!!!!!”

Raisa sobs as she hides behind a tree shivering uncontrolled and rocks the dibbun she has and looks down at the silent dibbun, she nudges it and takes a pulse in the neck and wrist, the chest and then screams”NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” Tears stream down her face.

Zee growls as the other vermin flee and he starts to rush after them and stops. He takes a deep breath and knows it’s no good to give chase and there is otters here hurt. He checks the male otter and frowns, he gently closes the otter’s eyes and looks around for the maid and dibbun, he finds them behind the tree he left them at “Lass…ya ok? Wot happen, something tells me Zurrggs beasts didn’t do all this.”

Raisa sobs and shivers “No….no…was..was..monsters! They burned everything, they killed so , so many dibbuns and old beasts. They killed innocent creatures and destroyed homes…” She looks to the dibbun,”She..she’s dead..her wounds..a dibbun should never of had to live with this and they killed my brother!” She looks around, ”W..Where is the otter guard, where is he?!!”

Zee frowns “He dyed lass I am sorry and wot ya mean, wots been burned and beasts killed?”

Raisa just sobs more and leans into him. She could care less of his armor” C..C..Camp Willow..Its..its gone! Skipper is..is dead!” She then just sobs uncontrolled and shivers as if cold. She also refuses to let go of the dibbun, she did her best to protect 12 of them and lost them all, all of them dying in front of her and the last one she promised to get to safety..dies in her arms and her last bit of will seems to die with the dibbun. Can she even go on after this? Is she the last otter to survive the horror?

Zee frowns and holds her. “Camp Willow…home of the otters?” He looks to the warrior otter and gently lays the otter maid by the tree, “Stay lass..” He gives her his cloak and covers her and the dibbun up, he will respect and not try and take the dibbun from her. He focus on burying the male otter, a nice simple grave is dug and made, a simple stone-here lies a brave otter- and he walks back over to the otter maid and if he can will gently pick her up and carry her to Redwall.

Raisa tenses some and then once she sees it’s the badger she relaxes and lets him carry her to where ever he is going as she is worn out, hurt and about to lose all hope, if she hasn’t already.

RW Abbey: Entry

You stand on a grassy sward between two cottages. To the south you see a small, calm pond. To the north lies an open space where the Abbey has its feasts in the warmer seasons. To the east is the Great Hall, a massive structure that rises far above the abbey walls and is completed with large towers that pierce upwards into the sky. The main building is completed with a large, iron banded door that would allow one into the Great Hall.

Coolness has swept into the air now, bringing with it the autumn leaves of the orchards. Coating the trails that lace and move through the dying grass and flowers. Regardless of the death of plants, the area is beautiful in it's gold and orange season. The abbey is sporting the colors in full pride.

                       Exits/Entrances:
     [G]reat [H]all [C]limb to the [R]amparts [A]bbey [P]ond
[Ga]te [H]ouse [Leave] through the gates [Open] Ground
                         [C]hampion's [C]ottage

Zee carries the otter maid inside the gates and looks around. A guard looks to see what is going on as the just speaks "Find the champion or the abbot, or both please" The guard nods and heads off without question.

Raisa shivers in his arms and holds onto to a dibbun she refused to let go of, an otter who she traveled with a short ways died in the woods and she and the dibbun is alone. She sobs and shivers as if cold "A..ALL hope gone....none..whats the use of ..h...help?"

Zee keeps the otter maid in his arms since she seems to not let him set her down, "Lass ya gots to calm down. Now wot happen, was this just you and de dibbun and ..who was the other otter?" He assumes she is just shaken up, she surely wouldn't mean the whole camp as that’s just not possible. Right?
Raisa just clings to him more if an abbey beast would come near her "Nooooooo!!!!" She sniffs "No..all...ALL of them" As far as she knows she is the only one to survive the horrible massacre "Dibbuns...friends.....old and young..homes burned they killed them at the camp. These..they looked like demons...all is gone, lost and the skipper is dead!"
Zee frowns "Something happen at Camp Willow?"
Raisa nods, she has calmed but barely. She even has the wounds to prove it. A gash on her leg and her arm is swollen, possibly broken and the cut on her head. Mostly dried blood on her wounds but a gash on her shoulder is a little newer and she has cuts and bruises. The dibbun she holds also various wounds, but is sadly dead now as she refuses to let go of the poor dibbun, she promised to get her to safety and she died, 12 dibbuns died in her care and she blames herself.
Zee speaks softly" I..." He is unsure what to say, he looks to a novice who is trying to help best they can, "Where is Magramba or someone who can help with this, Benar maybe this sounds serious." The novice just frowns "I..I don't know sir"
Raisa finally after some soft and calming words from a novice she finally releases the dead otter dibbun to them and then leans against the badger and just starts sobbing again.
Speak of the Champion, and he shall appear. Magramba comes hurrying across the lawn, a blacksmith's apron tossed around his neck and a hammer still hanging from one paw. Soot clings gingerly to the tips of his fur, unwilling to let him make a clean getaway from his little hobby. When he catches sight of the badger and the blubbering otter maid, his pace slows, then quickens again. "What's going on?"

Zee frowns as the dead dibbun is carried away and holds the otter maid close as she sobs, he clears his throat "I..found de lass in de woods, thar was another otter but he was dead. I buried him...and her and the dibbun I got 'ere..." Now he is crying "The dibbun's..d..d....dead, she mentioned Camp Willow and how others are dead and the Skipper is dead."

Raisa calms, enough to speak "The skipper fell......the monsters came and killed so many, burned homes. They..they didn't care." Tears pour down her face" The monsters killed dibbuns and burned everything! They destroyed anything in their way...all is lost Camp Willow is..is gone!"
Magramba blinks as all the information is unloaded on him. This is the second crisis in almost as many days. They haven't even had time to solve the last one yet, and now this. "Slow down. Camp Willow was attacked? By /monsters?/ What did they look like? How many?"
Zee will try and sit the maid down, if she allows and let her speak.
Raisa allow it, but stays close. She frowns and she seem lost and hopeless" Shields with..demons on them, there was 100's of them with shields and fur, armor and they just keep coming and coming. They killed my brother and...and others. Flaming arrows burned homes and even the infirmary, they dragged otters from homes and just slayed them, they slayed dibbuns and the old ones too and..and Skipper is..is dead." She coughs and curls up on the grass on the entry as she sobs , "Camp Willow..burned, destroyed..it was a massacre!!The vermin, monsters seemed to enjoy it and their leader I think had horns and you couldn't see their face. So..many....dead"
Zee says, "When I found her it was in the woods not far from de abbey. I didn’t see any strange vermin just a couple normal rats whom I fought off. Then as said got de lass and....dibbun here" He founds, a dibbun dying he is upset over but he is also not sure getting them here faster would of helped or not.

Magramba nods as he processes through the information, his thoughts clicking rapidly through the different pieces as he assembles them into a cohesive whole. "So a force of vermin attacked Camp Willow, a few hundred strong. Painted shields and the fact that they won means they're not to be trifled with." The brutality isn't mentioned, but something about the hardness in his face suggests he's not surprised. "I've dealt with this kind before. We'll need to stop them here, and on our own. By the time the Long Patrol comes, who knows what other villages will be put to the torch."

Raisa just starts sobbing again and shivering, "W..What if they come here?" Fear suddenly becomes clear "T..they also were seen in some large long boat..thing. AM.....Am I the only otter left..left alive? And..and they seemed to not even blink and they just cut down otter after...after otter..."

Zee frowns and then nods "It sounds like the threat to Camp Willow needs dealed with before anything else, it’s a lot more dangerous than one wildcat and maybe a pawful of followers."
"They came in a longboat?" Something stirs in Magramba's memory, and the squirrel scratches thoughtfully at his chin. "What did you say your name was, miss?" Last of the Camp Willow Otters probably isn't the best title to call her by right now. "I want you to draw anything you can remember about these vermin for me, okay? Draw it as clearly as you can."

Raisa sniffs "I...my name is Raisa, I am..was just a cook. I am not a fighter, I..couldn't even protect dibbuns." Tears stream again, not that they stopped "I..I can try....didn't get a close look was too busy...fleeing"

Zee goes to head inside "I...I will see if Benar is around..." Weather he goes back out on his own he doesn't say, if he does it to hunt a wildcat not sea monsters. He heads inside slowly letting the champion tend to the otter.

"Anything helps," Magramba reassures her, bending down onto one knee and placing a comforting paw on her shoulder. "Let's get you inside so the healers can take a look at you. I'll be back to check on you later, okay?" His other paw is offered out to help her get to her feet.

Raisa allows the help, it takes a little while but she lets him help her up and nods slowly "O..ok...when do you..want it drawn?" She can try her best to draw it.

"Whenever you feel okay to do it," Magramba replies, making sure she can walk as he escorts her to the infirmary. "I'll drop by later to check on you, and you can show it to me then." Before long, the two are inside where the healers can take a look at her.

Raisa nods and lets him lead her to the infirm, she slowly lies on a cot and lets the healers tend to her, one even gives her something to help her relax and get some much needed sleep

Well in Raisa’s mind she is the lone survivor of a massacre. Will other otters be found alive? What will happen next ?
