Hidden Rat Worried Otter Part Three

Characters: Kentar, Aikuen, Sinway, Mayuel, Will, Fira

Location: North Path

Aikuen taps his claws together, he then jumps back on the previous topic, "So... Do /you/ think i am a good father..." He has too know.

Will chews on his lip think over how to answer the otter. He should have switched the topic to Fira instead of the stoat.

Aikuen's smile slowly disappears, and pokes the fire with a stick, "Never mind..."

Will blinks confused, "Wha? I didn't say anything."

Aikuen sighs, that's the precise reason why he said it, "I know im not the greatest father in the world, but there are few out there who is better... Least that's what i think." He shrugs, "You don't have to say it if you don't want too..." Must poke the fire.

"Of course your good father!" Comes a voice from the stoat's direction. Kentar slowly sits up and rubs the sleep from his eye before stretching and yawning. "Of course your a good father Aikuen."

Will's had enough of this and doesn't hear the stoat, "You're right. You're not the greatest father ever, but you're /my/ father."

Aikuen sighs, and begins to rub his eyes. Leaning down and placing his elbows on his knees. He doesn't say anything to either of them. He needs time to think about it.

Kentar looks between the two of them. "I take it I should be quiet then." he nods to himself.

Will huffs, "Looks that way."

Aikuen looks up and takes a deep breath, "I understand...I fight, I use to drink, I yell, I get angry easily, I curse, I'm a hypocrite, I also don't teach you things you may need in life...Like honor and respect for others... and for all that... I am sorry..." He smiles a little bit, "But i love you... I will always be there for you...And sometimes, i may seem over protective of you, i just don't want to lose you in the cruel world of ours..." He rubs his eyes again.

Kentar frowns slightly and decides to change their topic. "So. Garnet said she'd like to continue on with us instead of stopping at Mossflower." he says.

Aikuen looks up again, and rests his head on his fist, "That's good to hear mate... So what are the two of you planing to do when we get... wherever...."

Kentar shrugs somewhat. "No idea. I'd sort of like to invite her to stay with me...er...us but I'm not sure it would be a good idea. Besides, you already have to put up with one stoat." he grins.

Aikuen looks to Will who hasn't said anything, then back to Kentar, "I think its a great idea... And what is one more stoat, between us..." He laughs lightly, "So... You gonna marry her?" He is not making fun of the stoat at all.

Kentar blinks a few times and tilts his head. "What? Er..N-no! I mean, uh...We've not even k-known each other for the same time you and Fira h-h-have."

Aikuen shrugs, "Its alright if you want to wait... But as for me and Fira..." He looks to her to make sure she is not looking, "I plan to propose as soon as we get back to the abbey... I know she is the one, i never felt this way before about anyone else..." He sighs and nods his head.

Kentar grins widely. "Your going to propose?" he grins. "That's great!" he smiles more. "But I'm not going back to the abbey, so you'll have to tell me what she says." He grins.

Aikuen nods, "Aye i will!" He is beginning to feel a bit better, and smiles again, "Where do you plan to go? directly back to Moledeep or what?"

Kentar Shrugs. "Not entirely sure. I just don't want to go back to the abbey." he shrugs.

Aikuen nods, "Okay... Well wherever you go... Ill find yah eventually to tell you the good news... and if you don't hear from me..." He shakes that thought from his head, "Do you want Garnet to go with you?"

It's taken the rat's brain a while to process what the otter had said and thus Will had fallen behind in the conversation til he heard of the otter's plan to propose to Fira upon reaching the Abbey. "You used to drink but you don't anymore. You said yourself it's been nearly a full season since you stopped drinking and you like it better that way. I get mad too and curse and I don't know what a hypocrite is but I'm probably one too. ...... When Fira says yes will you get married right then or are you supposed to wait a while first?" Will asks responding to the last thing he heard while trying to catch up what they were talking about.

Kentar shrugs slowly. "Not sure. Its up to her if she wants to come with me, then she can."

Aikuen nods and smiles, "Good to hear matey... Im sure she will, she likes you... that's obvious" He chuckles and looks to Will when he starts speaking. He waits till he is over before saying, "A Hypocrite is someone who says one things and does another, like me. And as to the marriage thing, your supposed to wait. We will most likely wait till the end of spring, or maybe the beginning of summer, those are good days. But first she has to say yes...

Will says, "Oh. Why wouldn't she?"

Kentar nods slowly then chuckles. "Its obvious, yes. But still." he smiles before peering to Will then back to Aikuen. "Yeah, why wouldn't she?"

Aikuen shrugs and chuckles, "There is always a chance she will say no. Maybe she is not ready to get married just yet, or... there are thousands of other reason why she would say no...Me...I'm not worried too much..." He smiles, "And if she does say no... I will never give up hope!"

Kentar grins. "She wont, trust me. She likes you too much to say no." he smile.

Will had kept quiet not knowing enough about marriages or weddings to think of anything to add until Kentar spoke. "Yeah, sides she'd miss us if she went back to living all by herself again." the rat adds.

Aikuen says, "Yah... I guess she does!" He chuckles and looks to Will, "She would miss us... going back to her boring old life... living by herself and such..." He thinks about it, "This is probably the most action she has ever seen in her life... Hopefully she liked it... May have to do it again sometime!

Kentar yawns and looks over to the sleeping Garnet. "Hrm..." he thinks to himself quietly.

Will says, "Yeah .... but maybe a shorter trip next time."

Aikuen nods to Will, "Yeah... I didn't mind this one taking so long, but next one should be shorter..." He looks to Kentar, "Whats wrong matey?" He notices the glance to Garnet, "What yah thinking about?"

Kentar huhs and ohs. "Just thinking about her is all.." he says with a smile.

Aikuen nods slowly, "You love her don't you... I think you should ask her to stay with you... be good for the both of yah..." He smiles a little bit.

Kentar shrugs and hrms. "Are...Are you sure? Because staying with me also means staying with you..."

Aikuen smiles, "I'm all for it... Up to the Master of Moledeep...Will?" He looks to said rattling.

The rat had only been half paying attention to their talking, "Hmm? She can stay with us if she wants so long as she minds th rules."

Kentar Smiles some and nods. "Then I'll ask her when she wakes."

Aikuen laughs, "Alright then!" He then begins to count, "Lets see... Will and Racky...Me and Fira... Kentar and Garnet... that makes... six, living at Moledeep" He chuckles, "And just think, a few seasons ago, that place was completely deserted! Now look at it!

"Yeah with all of us over us there it'll be real nice and get fixed up a lot faster too," Will says cheerfully.

Kentar nods slowly and chuckles. "I guess..." he looks back towards Garnet and hrms.

Aikuen says, "Yep... It looks okay... Just mainly dusty... We can add stuff that we want after that" He gets and looks to the midday sun, and scratches his sides, "Do you think its time to move on? Already burnt half the day..."

Will nods, "Yeah, we probably should keep moving, won't ever get back if we just stay here."

Kentar nods and smiles somewhat. "I'll wake up Garnet." he says, slowly starting to shake her awake, gently of course.

Aikuen nods to Kentar and stuffs the tarp in his pack. He decides next to wake Fira up. He goes over to her and picks up her paw, then he kisses her. She wakes up, and as always, she smirks at him. He mouths some words and she nods and gets up, and rolls her bed, handing it to Aik. He smiles at her and works on the other bedrolls. Rolling them up and placing them in their packs

Will takes his pack from the otter and puts out the fire as he checks the camp over for anything he may have left out.

Kentar got Garnet up, the two stoats now packing up their random belongings before nodding. "We're ready anytime you three are."

Mayeul nods not wanting to be left behind.

"I'm ready. You read Pa? Fira?" Will asks shouldering his pack.

Aikuen nods, "All set matey!" He stretches, and takes a last look around, "yep all set! Lets go!"

Kentar starts to walk, arm around Garnet's shoulders as they go, following close behind.

Will heads off down the road after the otters.
