Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go

From Redwall MUCK Wiki

(continued from this log)

Riverdale gingerly places his arm around Ekho's sleeping form and positions her body so that the wound is easily accessed. He squeezes her gently, whispering an inaudible word or two of mixed regret and affection.

Ekho slowly wakes up. "Mh...Riv-dale?" she asks quietly, trying to move, sitting up.

"Shh... sit still, Ekho. Aikuen need to, ah... Fix up that cut of yours..."

Ekho slowly peers out around to see the blade, red hot. That wakes her up quickly. 'n..Nooo" she says, starting to squirm a lot. "no...No lemme go! Lemme go!"

The manner in which Riverdale's gaze then casts about for a few moments indicate that he's just remembered something. Ah... His eyes come to a rest on Wallie, sitting forlorn in the soil by where Kitsune had lain.

Anba_Hor parts the grass slowly as he continues watching the group. The fox yawns wide, not making a sound, and takes the oppotunity of the lull in activity to stow away his blades back into his belt. He goes back to watching the group...

Aikuen gets close to the squirrel and the mouse, the hot sword held in his right paw. He places the flask of 'medicine' near the ground, within paws reach. He whispears to Riverdale, "You ready?... You better hold on to her paw, and squeze it very tight..."

Ekho Screams loudly And continues to try to squirm. "Let me go! Let me go! Let me go!" She even tries to bit Riverdale. "no! let me go! Now! Help! Help!" She cries out

Riverdale looks at the otter and nods grimly. "Ay, lad. I'll do my best." After a pause: "Ekho..." Riverdale coos. "Hold onto my paw. This will only, ah... take, ah, a moment." He pulls away from the dibbun in time to avoid getting bitten, but he's doing a poor job of keeping her restrained.

Anba_Hor chuckles silently to himself, a paw over his mouth, as they appear to 'torture' the young mouse. If this is what they're resorting to, perhaps that little dibbun was in more dire need of attention than he thought... Perhaps he could use this to confuse the little mouse - make her think the fox is on her side? He continues watching.

Ekho Screams louder. "HELP ME! LET ME GO! PLEASE LET ME GO!" She's sobbing in fear now. "NO..NO LET ME GO!" and she keeps trying to get away, but fails.

Aikuen kneels down over the Ekho, he aims the sword over the wound, flat side down. He wipes a tear with his free paw. He says softly, "Dont worry, this ...well only... take a second..." he licks two claws of his free hand, and places it on top of the hot sword, with a soft sizzle.

Riverdale removes his spectacles to prevent their getting in the way of the procedure, then clasps Ekho very tightly, almost cruelly. "H-hold still, young 'un..."

Anba_Hor shakes his head and can only imagine the dibbun's reaction... he watches more intently than ever as they are about to seal the wound. Taking that dibbun willingly will be like cake.

Aikeun's claws continue to sizzle, as he says, "Alright, im gonna count down...3...2...1..." He shoves the sword with his two claws, and the sword comes in contact with Ekho's back. There is a loud searing sound, and there is a good bit of smoke.

Ekho continues to scream her head off before crying even more. "no! NO! AHHHHHHH" She screams her head off as the burn fixes the wound. Only sounds of sheer pain now.

Aikuen counts sliently to himself, 1..2..3... He quickly pulls off the sword and tosses it behind him. He then graps the flask and pours a good amount of it, over the burnt area.

Riverdale avoids looking at what Aikuen is doing, and a few tears trickle down the old squirrel's face.

Ekho continues to scream like all heck, As if someone was trying to kill her. "ahheh...let me go! it hurts! It hurts, Ahhh" She screams, tears over flowing her eye's.

Aikuen piles a good amount snow into his paws, and places it on the burnt area. He's voice stutters a bit,"Its...a..all over"

Anba_Hor bites his lip to keep from laughing out - the fox wonders where the cat went, but for now just watches... he reaches up to rub at his sore, bleeding muzzle with a look of disgust shot at the otter. He'll definitely pay for that, with something permanent. More than a shoulder cut, for sure.

Riverdale turns back to Ekho and tries to put a consoling paw to her cheek. "Ekho... Aww, Ekho... It's, it's all over now. It was, ah... all for the best." He manages a quivering smile, though his tiny eyes are still wet.

Ekho manages to pull away now. She Grabs wallie quickly but drops him when she finds his paw is ruined...So...Tears of Sadness join the ones of pain before she start to hobble off, trying to run away from the two, now scared to death of them.

Anba_Hor quickly and silently maneuvers his way around the perimeter of the camp, in the cover of the grasses, near to where the dibbun runs. He waits for the others to become distracted to make a move.

Anba_Hor quickly and silently maneuvers his way around the perimeter of the camp, in the cover of the grasses, near to where the dibbun runs. He waits for the others to become distracted to make a move.

Aikuen stands up, but does not go after the little mouse. He yells toward her,"Wait, Im sorry, but we had to seal it... if not ... well... its best not to think about it..."

Ekho continues running. "no! no Stay away!" She sobs as she goes before vanishing into the grass.

Anba_Hor whispers to the mouse only a few feet away, quietly so no others can hear, "Psssst... psssst...." He doesn't dare to show himself yet, he just makes his presence known to her...

Aikuen goes after Ekho, slowly, so as not to frighten her... "Wait, come back...Wait"

Ekho doesn't go back but does stop when she hears something. "H-h-hello?" she asks quietly.

Riverdale sits, forlorn, near the dying fire, his paws resting limply at his sides. "E-ekho..." he cries quietly.

Anba_Hor is still only heard, "Shhhh... little one - I saw how they were treating you... I want to help you get away from those terrible mean creatures, before they try to hurt you again..." His paw reaches out from the grass, "Here, come in here, out of sight - I won't hurt you..."

Riverdale looks about for his glasses.

Riverdale finds them and puts them on. He stumbles to his paws.

Ekho slowly looks to the paw before slowly going over...very...slowly. "Mh...Who...who're you?"

Anba_Hor tries his best not to panic the young one any further, "I tried to get you away from them earlier, remember? I wasn't /really/ trying to hurt you, until that cat dropped you on your head... Are you alright?"

Ekho slowly looks at the fox ."R...really?" she asks. "I'm...I'm...I dont know"

Aikuen continues to walk foward. He's sees Ekho talking to a bush. He walks a bit faster, but still slowly...

Anba_Hor shakes his head, "You didn't look so good over there, when you were screaming in pain... that looked like it hurt. Like this did." He shows her his ugly gash, far worse looking than the otter's wound, conveniently... "See what they did to me? Do you think I deserved this any more than you did that nasty burn?"

Riverdale stumbles around weakly, uncertain what's happened, knowing only that he's given his little friend a terrible fright.

Ekho slowly...thinks but shakes her head. "N...No..." she replies quietly. "It...Hurt...bad...dont know....wh-why they did it..."

Anba_Hor looks gravely at the young mouse, "Well, I know... they did it to keep you from telling anyone about their awful deed! Telling anyone what they did to a poor fox like me, in his own backyard!" He feigns tears. "After they knocked you out, they came at me - threatening me out of my own home!"

Riverdale limps over to the rejected teddy-badger. He picks it up and paws the dirt off its face and body. Its paw is still damp with potion, but he barely seems to notice, pressing it lightly to his face and brushing its back.

Riverdale pulls Wallie away from his face and looks sadly down at the silly little badger.

Riverdale toys with the ruined paw.

Ekho looks at Anba. "Uhm...Why...did...did...they l-l-lie t-t-to me...I...I thought...they were m-m-my friends"

Anba_Hor puts a paw on her shoulder, giving a friendly squeeze and nodding, "I know, I know... unfortunately I don't understand why they would lie either - but I have no reason to lie to you... I was just walking home - that otter started attacking me, and it gave me a terrible fright!" He sits down and starts "crying" into his paws.

Ekho frowns and tilts her head. "Are...are you...okay mister?" she asks, slowly, very slowly, going over and sitting next to the fox, tears still falling from her face.

Aikuen Stops, as Ekho walks into the bush. He sort of mumbles, "Are you... okay?....". Hes a good fifteen away.

Anba_Hor nods and looks down at her sitting next to him, "I'm so... /misunderstood!/... people think I'm evil, but I'm not - they're evil to /me/!"

Ekho frowns and ignores the otter's voice. "I...I'm sorry for...that they did..."

Anba_Hor gives Ekho a panicked look, "Quick, tell him you're okay - or we'll both be in trouble for sure!" This is going so well, he can't stand it. XD

Ekho looks over. "Goway!" She cries out to the otter. "Lemme alone"

Anba_Hor nods, "I'm sorry I had to do what I did, too... nobody was killed, and that's the important thing. But we should get you out of here, don't you think? Why were you all traveling in the first place?"

Aikuen puts up his paws in front of him, and slowly backs away. "Alright, ... i leave you alone... " and turns around, and heads back to the camp. He sits down by the fire, not knowing what else to do...

Ekho nods.."We...we should...be...because I wan...wanted too...I...i thought..thought they liked me...I...loved riv-dale...but....but...but..."

Anba_Hor pats the poor confused dibbun's back, "I know... I know... sometimes it hurts to trust someone and find out they just /use/ you. I know how it feels." He gets up, but stays low, "I can take you back to a safe place, and I will make them promise not to hurt you. Is that a good idea, you think?"

Ekho ums and...just nods. "Okay...okay...please...dont...dont let them hurt me again..." she starts to cry some more.

Anba_Hor shakes his head, shhhing the dibbun, "No, no, no, I would never... but we must stay quiet. Follow me."

Riverdale, for a rueful moment, watches Ekho, who apparently needs to be alone for a bit, then trudges back to the camp. "Lad..." he says, voice strained from exertion and pain. "We best, ah... we best do as the fox said. Get the message to, ah, the abbey." He waves Wallie at the parchment on the ground, then, as if noticing the teddy badger for the first time, looks at it again. "Maybe someone there can, ah, fix this up for Ekho."

Aikuen picks up the now cool sword, and places it its sheath. He gets up and rubs his eyes, "Aye....your right... its for the best." He begins to collect things from around the fire, and stuffs them into his sack.

Ekho slowly looks up and sighs before following the fox, still crying her head off.

Anba_Hor heads off with the dibbun, planning to return immediately to really put the pressure on them, if it hasn't already been felt. Do my bidding or you never see her again!

Riverdale is a bit on edge. His head whips round at the sound of rustling in the bushes, and he sees Ekho walking off. He waves the walking stick in her direction. "Lad... Lad, look..." She's leaving.

Ekho casts one glance to Riverdale before being gone totally...just...gone.

Aikuen looks toward where Riverdale pointed, theres nothing. He looks back at the Squirrel, " What, I Dont see anything."

Riverdale looks at Aikuen, tears in his eyes. "Th-that's what I mean, lad. Ekho... she's not there." He drops Wallie and falls to the ground. His cane bounces down beside him.

Anba_Hor is gone for a while too, as Ekho is told to wait farther outside the camp. The fox is confident now that he can bargain, and with Ekho waiting out of earshot, he doesn't have to worry about ruining his perfect second impression. He stalks back in towards the camp.

Aikuen goes over to hold up Riverdale, "What do you mean shes gone. Shes not gone, she just in the bushes, wanting to be alone."

Riverdale nods tentatively. "I... hope you're right, lad. But... But the way sh-she looked at us... The way she sounded. She's been through so much, I c-can't stand to think we've... /lost/ her." He looks again in the direction that Ekho went.

"That we're no longer her... friends..."

Anba_Hor suddenly appears, holding a dagger, and the other paw is held up in a defensive gesture, "I would say you have, certainly... hello again." He smiles at Riverdale, but shoots a glare at the otter, before finally addressing the squirrel, "She's perfectly fine. She's a bit upset, and I relate."

Riverdale is on his paws faster than you can say "really old squirrel", and he fixes Anba with a red-eyed glare.

"W-what is it you want now, fox?" His lip trembles, but the words are sharp. "Haven't you got what you asked for? We agreed to take your... d-damn message."

Aikuen Just glares at the fox, not beliveing his eyes that the fox... is back.

Anba_Hor shrugs, "I want you to stop mosying about and get to business... and I had no assurances before that what I wanted was even going to get done. Now, I'm sure we'll have a more solid, binding agreement." He goes to pick his teeth with the end of the blade, then makes a show of 'oops' and chuckles, "Almost was careless, there."

Aikuen Yells at the fox, "What have you done!...Where's Ekho!...I swear if you hurt one hair on her head...It..." He vocie trails off to something obscene.

Riverdale says quietly. "Just... don't hurt her..."

Anba_Hor chuckles, "C'mon, do you think with all that's happened, that I'm just going to ruin a perfectly good hostage? Of course not... now, hurry along - and when you've done what I need you to do, she'll be back in your arms." He switches dagger paws, "Of course, that is /if/ she isn't perfectly content being my sidekick." He winks at the otter, who gets an 'elbow in the ribs' from

Dry laughter erupts from Riverdale. "Sidekick?! And what makes you think she'd t-trust you... /Val/? Ah, after what you put her through?"

Anba_Hor folds his paws, "She already does - she went with me willingly, squirrel... she obviously trusts me enough to do that. She's waiting for me right now, somewhere safe, away from those 'meanies' who were burning her alive." He howls with laughter.

Riverdale gives an angry bark.

Aikuen takes a quick glance at the javalins still laying on the grounds. Then yells back at the fox "We were only trying to save her life... Someting you would never do for any other beast, but yourself..."

Anba_Hor sees the otter looking at the javelins, "Don't think about it, otter... I'm not stunned like before - and these daggers don't need their poison to kill you instantly. One aim at your heart is all it takes." He answers, "I believe my antidote saved your life... and besides, why do for free what you can do for pay? It's time to go, otter, so pack your things, and stay clear of those weapons of yours..."

Aikuen glares back at the fox, then he starts to pack up camp. He emptys the cauldorn, and puts out the fire. He goes over to his sack and places the cauldron inside. The only thing left is Riverdale's tent, which is near the dropped javalins.

Anba_Hor goes over to the javelins, and, one by one, kicks them away from the tent. "Now you can pack up that tent..." He looks at Riverdale, "See, I'm still a nice guy... very reasonable. I would have sewn shut her wound, but then it might not have been as fun to watch." He winks.

Aikuen can no longer stand it. Reguardless of the outcome, He charges the fox. There is only one thought on his mind... To end the life of this fox.

Anba_Hor swiftly picks up one of the javelins, and unless the otter wants to impale himself, this guesture /should/ stop the charge... The fox isn't good with javelins, though, and his grip on it compromises his grip on the dagger..

Aikuen Continues the charge, regardless of anything else. His eyes are blood red, and his pupils are clouded over...

Riverdale wanders around the camp in a daze, indifferent to the otter's charge.

Anba_Hor waits until the otter is close, and swings the javelin around at his head, not likely to kill the otter anytime soon. Hopefully the action just knocks the otter out. He doesn't want another prolonged battle like the other day.

Aikuen gets slammed in the head with the javalin. But is does nothing to stop him, he tackles the fox, while yelling at the top of lungs, his battle cry, "Ashuuuuraaaaah!!!!"

Anba_Hor drops the javelin and has no other choice but to stab at the otter's midsection, with him on top. The otter's weight would be his worst enemy, if the otter did fall onto the blade. "Whaa-- crazy, stubbo...!!" He jabs again and again.

Aikuen Takes some serious stabbing, but nothing can stop this crazed otter. He grabs the fox paw, when he went for another stab, and quickly twist it in the direction your wrists dont normaly turn. There is a loud crack, as the fox's wrist break.

Riverdale begins to approach the fighting pair, but he keeps a reasonable distance, pleading softly, "Aikuen... Lad... No..." But his words seem to have no effect.

Anba_Hor screams in pain as the wrist twists and shoves the otter off of him, finally. The fox tries to stumble back on all fours, but the pain in his wrist makes him collapse. The dagger is dropped, and he can't easily lean over to pick it up with the other paw. He just scrambles away awkwardly.

Aikuen falls back onto the ground, but quickly pick himslef back up. Multiple stab wounds are evident, and most are bleeding. He picks up the dropped poison dagger, and gives chase to the fox.

Riverdale shakes his head, once again feeling impotent to intervene. He instead forks off in search of Ekho after picking up his cane. "Ekho..." he whispers, stepping into the long grass. "Ekho, dear..."

Ekho is...Not in the grass....

Anba_Hor is on the ground, but takes another dagger out and throws it with his other paw, readying another in case it doesn't find its mark or stop the otter. He hopes if the squirrel finds Ekho that she sees this show of brute force by the otter, though...

Riverdale continues his mistaken search, brushing aside the long blades with his cane as he limps forward.

"Ekhoo... Wallie misses you..."

Aikuen Takes the dagger straight in the middle of his shoulder. He doesnt even wince, He just continues on, with dagger still in. He growls at the fox, "Got any other bright ideas..."

Anba_Hor decides to tackle the otter back, maybe knocking him out cold on a stone... He leaps up and throws himself at the other beast with a howl. Time to give this otter some of his own medicine. Maybe.

Riverdale emerges from the grass, empty-pawed and crestfallen. Still he presses on looking. The side of his cloak has turned purplish brown where it adheres to his wounded side. It looks painful, but the squirrel pays it no mind.

Ekho is still...not there!

Riverdale mutters to himself. "Then... is she..." he gulps, "truly gone?" He dismisses such thoughts. "No. No. Sh-she cannot be far."

"Ekhoo..." the plaintive call resumes.

Aikuen is ready for the tackle, and grabs the fox my the neck and totaly stops the momentum of the fox, he then pick him up over his head and tosses the fox behind him.

Ekho Is off somewhere, not hearing Riverdale.

Anba_Hor goes headlong into the tree, but by the time he reaches it, he hits it flat with his back, upside down. Unable to support the fall with his wrist, he collapses in a pile at the base of the tree, but is quick to get back on his feet. Limping away, he shouts behind him, "You still have nothing! Nothing! You must do what I say, or your little friend will find herself without her paws or feet, and much worse yet!"

Riverdale presses on, leaving the camp further and further behind. Where can she have gone?

Ekho Is...There! She's sobbing away, her back to where riverdale came from.

Aikuen takes off after the fox. His wounds have stopped bleeding, and the dagger is still plunged into his shoulder. On the way He picks up the fallen javalin.

Riverdale approaches Ekho, careful not to move too fast. "Ekho?"

Ekho slowly turns to see riverdale before Turning towards him and falling back, crawling away. "Stay...stay...stay away from me! Help! help! somebeast, help!"

Anba_Hor runs headlong towards Riverdale, trying to find the dibbun, and is unable to stop in time if the squirrel doesn't move. He has a crazy otter after him, and he doesn't know how much more poison it will even take to kill this... thing. He yells out as he sees the squirrel too late!

Riverdale stops, seeing that she's skittish. He puts his paws out in front of him, and the walking stick swings lightly. "Ekho... shh... I-I'm sorry." He doesn't see the fox barreling towards him, thinking that the yell was meant for Aikuen.

Anba_Hor runs straight into Riverdale, with an 'oooof', and knocks the poor old squirrel over, as the fox keeps going with more momentum, flipping over the top of the squirrel and landing with him in a tangled pile. "Get... off... ahhh!! Ge..." He tries to get out, pushing the squirrel away from him, toward Aikuen.

Riverdale goes over with a crunch and a thud, and his walking stick flies up from his paw.

Ekho keeps crawling away. "Mister fox, help!" she cries out, pointing at Riverdale.

Riverdale's head knocks hard upon the ground, and he's out. His shoulders curve inward, and his head flops forward.

Aikuen continues, his charge at the tangled mess, and he is about to strike both of them, when he sees Ekho. He temporary loses his madness, and whipears, "Ekho...." then he sees the Fallen Squirrel "Riverdale... No...." His javalin gets raised and aims at the Fox, His eyes seems to be in another world.

Slowly, a thin trail of blood trickles out from under Riverdale's head. He does not stir, even at his friend's approach.

Ekho watches...Riverdale...Watches...watches. "R-...Riv-dale?"

Riverdale doesn't move.

Ekho tears up even more. "R-R-R-Riv-dale?" she asks louder, slowly over coming her fear and going over to the squirrel. "Rivdale?!"

Anba_Hor grabs Ekho's paw and shouts, "Come, little one - Captain Tazen has killed your friend, and is about to kill us! We have to go!" He holds the dibbun in front, "Not a step closer... I won't let you do any more damage! Look at the pandemonium you've caused us all!"

Ekho shakes free of the Fox. "lemmee goo" she says before rushing back to riverdale's side. "Riv-dale!" she goes to shake the squirrel.

The blood meanders its way along the frosted earth toward Ekho. There's not much of it--in fact, the flow seems to have stopped or slackened--, but it is a stark sign that Riverdale's injury is not minor.

Anba_Hor has learned the dibbun's names through the shouts, "Ekho, your friend will be alright... please come back, we must get out of this place!" He thinks about the teddy-badger and goes to grab it. He comes back, running around the otter and shouting at Ekho, "If you don't come here, you'll never see teddy again!!" In his most sinister voice. XP

Aikuen can no longer supress the poison, using all the strenght he can muster he throws the javailn at the fox. He begins to collapse to the ground. With his last ounce of strength, he pulls at the dagger from his shoulder, and pulls out flask at his belt. He pulls out the stopper with his teeth. He falls foward, with paws outstreched. He looks up at Ekho, and holds out both objects toward her.He grasp on the objects falil. The flask dribbles out a browinsh liquid, which looks strangely like the antidote, that was in the cauldron. and the dagger just rolls away.

Ekho looks up. "no...no...m'stay" She says, still trying to shake riverdale up. "Rivdale, wake up..."

Riverdale flops over, still limp. As he rolls onto his side, the nature of his injury becomes evident. There is a deep gash in his head, behind his left ear and near the crown of his head. The blood has already begun to coagulate in a sticky mat around the side of the blow. There is an unassuming rock, now painted crimson, where his hapless skull must have struck.

Ekho Screams. "RIVDALE! WAKE UP! PLEASE WAKE UP" She's shaking him even more...Then she thinks he's dead....And breaks down and Cries even more, laying her head on the squirrel's chest. "Msorry! M'so sorry...please come back"

Anba_Hor has many poisons, and wouldn't think twice about pouring a different sort into his wounds. He decides that would be too cruel, with his friend presumed dead as far as he can tell... the dibbun was a good idea, but the foolish otter was an unforeseen circumstance. He should have learned the first time. The fox waits - the dibbun is coming with him, no matter what happens to the squirrel. He walks over and picks up the flask. "Hmmm, wonder what this is?" He kicks the downed otter, out of sight of the crying mouse.

Riverdale's chest moves up and down beneath the pressure of Ekho's head, though very slightly and very slowly.

Ekho Doesn't feel it...she's too distraught. "Rivdale...please...don't...dont leave me..." she sobs. "M'sorry...M'so...so...sorry....I love You!" She cries...

Aikuen groans when he is kicked, but doesnt make any other sound or movement.

Ekho looks over and notices A dagger on the ground...she stands and picks it up, going to find the fox...

Anba_Hor smiles at the dibbun, "Careful... I have this otter's only chance for survival in my paws. It's also the antidote for that dagger, so what you have is no weapon at all to me."

Ekho looks at The Fox with pure...hate..."Nuhhh!!" she screams as she goes over and attacks...Aiming to stab wherever she can

There's a poetry to it, almost. An ant has come upon Riverdale's body and now seems to be assessing it, negotiating first the arm, then rounding the shoulder to peer up at the great wound above. Life goes on, even as the squirrel's gutters on a dwindling wick.

Anba_Hor scoops up the charging dibbun and extracts the dagger in one swift motion, although the pain in his wrist shoots into his arm when he grabs the dagger. "Come on, little one." He carries the dibbun on his shoulder, her head over his back, as he drops the antidote /just/ out of reach of the otter. "Remember what both of you must do... assuming there is still a 'both of you' tomorrow."

Riverdale's arm rolls to the side, almost imperceptibly, and his paw rolls open, then clasps, then reopens. The ant's antennae spring up in alarm--earthquake!--and it scurries off the body to seek sustenance elsewhere.

Ekho screams and continues to squirm. "Let...let me go!" she says. "M'no like you no more!"

Anba_Hor is indifferent to the squirming mouse dibbun - she was coming with him whether she liked it or not. Pity he had to run into that old squirrel when he did... that old fogey had the most sense of any of them, probably.

Riverdale has no senses, at the moment.

Ekho Screams more. "Help me! Please! Heeeelp!"

Riverdale's eye flutters, doesn't open.

Aikuen looks up at the Fox, There is a greenish twinge in his eyes, He feebly reaches for Ekho. "No,...Don't...no...take...her...No" his paw drops to the ground, He must do something, anything...

Anba_Hor disappears off into the grass with the dibbun, whistling some kind of sick funeral dirge.

Ekho is gone with him, still screaming and crying.

Riverdale's body remains there, paws akimbo, unmoving, and dwindling from sight behind the departing fox. Around him, the cool of a winter breeze muffles all other sounds, as if commanding a mourning silence upon the world.

Aikuen crawls toward the antidote, he manage to pull himself up, Which causes him to vomit... He pulls the stopper out, and drips it into his several wounds. There is a light sizzleing, but grits through it.

Aikuen looks toward the fallen Squirrel. He slowly moves toward him. He places Riverdales head onto his lap, and inspects the gash.

The otter quietly says, "Looks like were goin' to the abbey, to deliver that ... message... I just hope you'll be around." He places the squirrel against a tree, he goes over and retrieves the cloak from the sack, he covers up most the squirrel. He goes to the now extinguished fire, and sits by it. He places his head in both paws. "Some outing this turned out to be..."
