Farewell...
Characters: Aikuen
Location: Infirmiry, Garden Patch, Rose garden, Headstone
Aikuen woke up this morning, in the infirmary next to Fira, in a nearby armchair. He stretches some and looks around the Room. It’s just dawn, and they place looks exactly like it did when he got in last night. Amy is still here, she is resting, and so is Fira. He smiles and stands up to give his love, a kiss on the forehead, before he goes about his daily chores. She had a hard time yesterday, if she wants to rest, let her. He leaves Moledeep, to head for the plants. He enters the garden, with his watering bucket, and begins to water the ten rows. When he finishes, he places the bucket on the ground and kneels near the tomato row. He chuckles a little bit as buds are now bursting forth from the dirt. He leans back against a nearby tree, and wipes the sweat from his head, as he takes a little morning nap.
Aikuen awakes from his nap, as he then realizes something. He mumbles out, "It’s been a fortnight... since... Oh geeze..." He hoped that there would be something, anything, to either conclude that their gone, or maybe still alive. But it’s been two weeks, and not even a sign. He sighs, as he stands to walk toward the rose garden, and the rock, he hoped never to use.
Aikuen enters the rose garden of Moledeep, where over the past few days they have cleared it out of rotted vegetation. Flowers of every color, size, shape, and fragrance extend as far to edge of the forest. A natural path leads to the red roses that display itself in the center of the garden, where in the exact middle, there is a burlap sack covering the rock. Aikuen gets to it and signs, giving a once look around, expecting to the stoats pop out at any moment. Nothing... not even a bird chirping. He goes to the sack and takes out the rock... The stoats headstone. This grey slab of rock-quartz as been polished to a sheen. Engraved words atone the stone 'Together Forever: Kentar and Garnet. Friends, loved ones, who left us when their time was called. They will be forever remembered in this symbol, of how they meant to others. We will miss them, always.' Aik sniffs a bit as he digs a small hole to places the bottom part of the rock into the ground, keeping it there, until time ends.
Aikuen covers up the side, and makes sure it looks just perfect, even taking the edge of the sack, to clean out the engraving. He smiles some and says, "It’s not much... But it’s the best I could do..." He places a paw on his chest, then the other on top of the headstone, as he mumbles out an old soldiers creed, of those who had fallen in battle. He takes his paw off, and sits down next to the stone, and hugs one knee, since he can’t do both.
Aikeun just sits there in the hot sun, talking to Kentar as if he was next to him, "So mates... How are you? ... I hope you two are having fun... wherever you are... Oh, the others are not here with me... There either sleeping... or something else... I tell them where you are later..." He picks up a nearby rock and runs it in his paws, "I'm kinda glad the others are not here... Gives me some time to talk to you guys all by myself... I miss you... both of you..." He sniffs a little bit, "I'm sorry mates... that I wasn't able to avenge you guys... but that Fox... *sigh*...Never mind..." He tosses the rock away, "Garnet, do you mind leaving for a few minutes so I can talk to Kentar... Thanks..."
A long time passes, "I'm doing fine mate, just great... Still sad about you leaving us... But you never wanted that either i suppose..." He rubs his eyes, "You are one the only beasts, that called me best friend... Thank you for that... Makes me feel special... And I’m proud to call you my Best Friend... I miss you both so much... Why did you go..." He wipes tears from his eyes, and stands up, "You two can have some alone time now... I’ll send the others later, when they wake... I will also be back before nightfall, give you an update on things... Goodbye mates... Sorry there isn’t more that i could do...or say..." He sniffs a little bit more, as he heads back into Moledeep, as he feels tired now.
