Fall Fun!

- The dibbuns and Oz go on a hike and have fun and bring back berries, begins in mossflower woods close to the abbey and ends in the redwall abbey kitchens-

Small Clearing

You step into a small clearing. Below you stretches a wonderful valley. On a clear day you can see Panamore off in the distance, along with a large lake. And of to the east stands a small cliff with a waterfall flowing over it. With winter on the way the crisp air is sharp in your lungs. Nothing is left of the sun, the day has past and now it is night. With the cover of darkness silence has crept in. Nothing seems to stir except of the occasional wisp of wind through the trees.

Oz looks at the trees and some of the fallen leaves in the clearing, he smiles "Lots of color, red and some orange even yellows," He sighs "Silverfangs should have come, may have liked it."

Bastien picks up a red and orange leaf and grins; he shows him the leaf, “Pretty?" He asks.

Starlight stays close to Oz and just looks around the clearing; she doesn’t seem too interested in getting far away from him and then watching a moving lady bug.

Oz smiles and sits down, a couple other dibbuns giggle and run to pick up a few more leaves.

Torry followed Oz with a hint of curiosity, wondering what a 'hike' was. Apparently, it had something to do with pretty leaves, since he was transfixed by the trees.

Bastien looks at Torry as he looks at the trees and gets a yellow leaf; he looks to starlight "HEE HEE...fun." He is starting to talk a little bit more.

Starlight frowns and stays close to Papa Oz, she climbs into his lap and simply watches the others play.

The two fox dibbuns giggle and play and start to make a large pile of leaves, a couple other dibbuns join in and a pile slowly forms.

Torry decides to curiously try climbing a tree, to knock more leaves down.

Oz watches Torry closely and makes sure no one else but the dibbuns are in the clearing, he watches the dibbuns start to make a pile of leaves and chuckles, “Make sure to save some of the leaves, we can take them back to the abbey, maybe some bright colors will cheer Silverfangs."

Benik and Luna help anyone else who wants to, to make the pile bigger. Luna smiles as she puts a couple leaves in her pocket "Leaves are pretty!"

Bastien grins and adds more leaves to the pile; he looks over at Starlight and motions for her to come help too.

Starlight sticks out her tongue as she stays right where she is, her ears droop and she just watches, she looks down and finds one bright red leaf with some yellow and smiles, holding it in her paw and staying on the badger's lap.

Torry makes his way up the tree a good bit, before he starts to shake it to get the leaves to fall.

Oz looks up "Careful Torry not to high now, be careful you could still fall. “ He smiles at Starlight "Your always quiet aren’t you Starlight. “He looks to the others "Just stay in the clearing and close to me, may find some berries before we head back, maybe Zoomy could make pie for a snack."

Bastien frowns at the stay close idea and nods "Yes Papa Oz." He adds to the leaf pile and giggles some.

Starlight looks up at Oz and smiles, she stays in his lap and simply holds her leaf and watches the others play.

Torry looks down to Oz, nods, and keeps shaking the tree, making leaves fall out.

Benik and Luna find some more leaves on the edge of the clearing and go to push them towards the pile, minding Oz and staying close to him, the large pile of leaves is close to the badger and is fairly good size now.

Bastien watches as leaves fall and giggles, he finds a couple good colored ones and in his pocket they go.

Starlight points to the falling leaves and tilts her head watching them fall, she smiles a little.

Oz smiles as the pile of leaves is made "Large pile of leaves, guess to jump in?" He chuckles and looks around and back to the dibbuns “Might be fun."

Torry shakes the tree until they stop falling, in which case he climbs down the tree, smiling. "More leaves!"

Oz smiles "Soon all the leaves will be off the trees, then it will be cold weather, but not too soon yet."

Bastien frowns, “Why?" He is curious of the fact the leaves will all go away.

Starlight yawns and looks back and forth in the clearing and at the pile of leaves.

Torry approaches the others, and takes a seat himself, tired from climbing.

Oz smiles "Changing seasons, this is fall. Next is winter in few weeks, then spring and summer...and back to Fall again. “ He blinks as the two foxes suddenly jump into the large pile of leaves and leaves go all over, they chuckle and Oz even laughs too.

Bastien grins and runs and jumps into some of the pile that is left and he hees "Gain Gain!!"

Starlight eyes go wide as the others jump into the leave pile; she blinks and stays by Oz, slipping from his lap by staying beside him still.

Torry didn't seem interested in pouncing leaves himself; however, he did watch them fly with sheer curiosity.

Oz chuckles “Looks fun. “ He watches quietly as most of the dibbuns start to fix the pile back into its large pile of leaves again, he looks at Torry "Tried Torry?"

Torry looks over to Oz, and shakes his head a bit. "Hungry... I didn't get breakfast."

Bastien places a couple leaves on the pile and looks at Torry and Oz as being hungry is mentioned.

Oz frowns "Didn't eat? Why didn’t you get breakfast Torry?" He sits up better and looks in a pack he has and finds an apple and some cheese, “I have these if want them."

Torry smiles meekly. "I, um... slept too long..." He replied, before perking at the sight of food. “Please!"

Benik and his sister throw leaves at each other and then add them to the pile again, Luna speaks up "Find berries Papa Oz?"

Oz smiles and lets Torry have the apple and cheese, “I ate a little when the others did, “He smiles at the fox dibbun. “Perhaps in a little while."

Bastien smiles at the mention of berries "Berries...hee hee."

Torry happily takes the apple and cheese, and munches away at them quite hungrily.

Starlight watches Torry and looks at the others make the pile again somewhat curious of it.

Oz smiles “It’s a good day, needed a good hike to relax, and May take one again in couple months before snow falls."

Bastien blinks "Snow?" Hey he has never seen it before so he is curious.

Torry smiles sheepishly, looking up from the cheese he was munching on. "Snow's pretty... And cold... And fun!"

Oz smiles "Your get a chance to see it, but still a little ways off yet and yes it’s cold and white and covers everything....seen lots of it up North."

Luna and Benik sit down beside Oz, the large pile of leaves is remade and left alone for now, a couple other dibbuns add a few more leaves and roll around on the clearing grass giggling.

Starlight tilts her head as they all talk, she mainly stays quiet like she usually does.

Torry nibbles a little bit on his cheese, looking happy and content.

Oz smiles "Today is a good day “He picks up a leaf and studys it, he smiles again “It’s too bad the colored leaves don’t stay around long, also this is the time when lots of apples are around and crops are brought in...And the fall feast is in couple weeks."

Bastien just smiles, he is happy as he looks around the clearing just enjoying some fresh air and a change of what to look at.

Starlight yawns; she blinks as a lone butterfly flies pass them and giggles a little as it flies off to another part of the woods.

Torry finishes the cheese, and begins working on the apple happily, enjoying an impromptu breakfast.

Oz chuckles, he looks at the pile of leaves and hmms softly.

Bastien yawns a little tried now, he glances around and back to Oz.

Starlight blinks again as she tilts her head; she looks at the pile of leaves and then just yawns as she stays by her brother.

Torry finishes the apple, and looks to the ground curiously. If only he could dig it up, he could plant the apple, and maybe grow a new one...

Oz stands and looks at the pile, he shrugs and goes to jump in it like the dibbuns, he coughs as he leaf almost goes into his mouth and then laughs loudly. The two fox dibbuns giggle in surprise and go to jump in the pile with him, the badger rolls out of the way and chuckles “Whoa...that was a little fun and different. “He chuckles as he watches the dibbuns laugh too.

Starlight eyes go wide as she doesn’t get this, she whimpers a little and goes to try and hide behind Bastien and peek around him.

Torry looks quite surprised to see Oz jump into the pile of leaves, and giggles a little bit him. "Oz is a dibbun again!" He commented happily.

Bastien laughs "Funny!!"He giggles.

Oz chuckles "Hey I can have fun too...haven’t in a while, hee hee..."He stands and dusts some leaves off him, one is still in his headfur.

Bastien still giggles

Torry points to Oz's head, seeing the leaf, and giggles even more.

Starlight tilts her head and then smiles; she then just stands by Bastien and watches.

Oz raises an eyebrow and feels his headfur and ohs, he takes the leaf off and chuckles "Oh well..yes think we need outings little more, least till gets real cold then will just find some fun inside the abbey somehow, sure can think of something by then."

Bastien grins and nods "Fun fun fun!"

Torry giggles happily, falling back from leaning a bit. "EEP!"

Oz looks down at Torry and helps him up "Easy there Torry you ok?"

Torry giggles and blushes, nodding softly. "Uh-huh..."

Bastien looks over at Torry and blinks, he looks looks to Oz.

Luna taps Oz on the side “Find berries now please." she smiles and a couple other dibbuns nod too and wait to see what is said.

Starlight smiles at the idea of berries and claps her hands giggling a little.

Torry perks his ears at the mention of berries. "Berry pie! I can help Zoomy make berry pie!"

Oz smiles "You’re a good helper Torry and berry pie would make for a good snack, hmmms wonder if a berry bush is close by though."

Starlight raises her paws to Oz to be picked up.

Oz smiles and picks up the small dibbun hare as he thinks to himself.

Bastien smiles "Berries!" He starts to scan the area where they are and frowns not finding one just yet.

Torry climbs the same tree from earlier, in an attempt to find berries.

Oz watches Torry "Would have to be fairly close, didn’t want to go too far today, have to be back by dinner."

Bastien nods at the get back by dinner, he is about to miss food.

Starlight smiles, she snuggles close to Oz and falls asleep in his arms.

Torry peers off in the distance, and around... Before climbing down the tree, pointing a bit north. "Saw one there."

Oz nods “How far?" He makes sure the dibbuns stay close to him as the pile of leaves is basic forgotten and some dibbuns place the more colorful leaves in pockets. He walks a little ways with the dibbuns staying close to him, looking back and forth as he does so.

Starlight stays in the badgers arms, so it’s easy to say she is with them.

Bastien follows and looks around, he finds a couple acorns and puts them in his pocket.

Torry leads the group towards the berries - just behind a larger orange-ish bush.

Oz nods "Alright wasn't too far, “He smiles "We can collect some in a basket I brought and take them back to the abbey."

Starlight stays asleep in the badgers arms

Torry happily steps up to the bush, looking back to Oz.

Bastien grins and points "Berries “He goes to get closer but waits for Oz at the same time.

Oz smiles and nods as he walks forwards, he nods and the dibbuns go to help fill a basket, a couple dibbuns even eat a couple sweet berries, Oz chuckles and watches them.

Torry happily picks the berries, tossing them into the basket. He felt helpful!

Bastien picks a couple berries but also eats a couple too.

Torry continues picking, seemingly avoiding the urge to eat the berries, himself. Zoomy must have been teaching him better.

Oz smiles as he watches them, he looks over at the two fox dibbuns who seems to have brought a basket, he chuckles “Guess will be lots of berries with two baskets, maybe some for another day even."

Bastien giggles and starts placing more in a basket instead of eating them now.

Torry frowns at one berry, and tosses it, before picking more for the basket.

Oz smiles, he looks around and back to the dibbuns “So have you had fun??"

Benik and Luna nod happily as well as a couple others seem happy as well and one giggles and hugs Oz careful not to have him drop the sleeping hare in his arms.

Bastien giggles "Berries leaves...hee hee" He stops picking berries and sits by Oz.

Torry stops picking, since the bush was clean of berries. Turning to grin happily at Oz. "Very fun, picking berries!"

Oz smiles "Glad it was fun, we have have to have a fun day every so often, hmms what to do next well will come to me soon."

Oz smiles "Well we should head back, before it gets late. “He nods as the dibbuns start to go over to him and looks to Torry and Bastien.

Bastien nods and eats a couple other berries he found and skips over to stand by Oz and smiles. “Pie!" He says happily.

Torry, hearing this, quickly moved to stand near Oz. "Don't wanna get lost..."

Oz nods "Good plan, alright everyone stay close to me." He waits till they are all by him before heading back and moves slowly so they can stay close and he looks to them lots of times, even slows once on his way through the woods, he smiles as he sees the abbey and nods."Alright almost there."

--In abbey kichens-

Oz leads them to the abbey and into the kitchens and looks around. Benik and Luna head off to find their father but not before sitting one basket down on a table, Oz sits the other down and smiles.

Bastien skips inside the abbey and smiles, glad to be back and looks over at his sleeping sister, he gives Oz a hug and goes to wash off berry juice from his paws and..face.

Torry follows Oz to the kitchen, folding his arms. His territory!

Oz hmmms "Odd, no sign of Zoomy, he is usually in here." He shrugs and yawns, he is tried from the walking and the playing, he sits down in a chair and still holds Starlight in his arms.

Torry stands on the tips of his foot paws to try to grab a ladle, so he could further imitate Zoomy...

Oz chuckles at Torry, "Very cool.."

Torry looks back at Oz, and tilts his head curiously.

Cera peeks into the kichens and tilts her head.

Oz smiles, he looks over at Cera and offers her a smile, he looks to the door "Still odd Zoomy isn’t here, must be busy but he should like the berries, lots of berries in fact."

Torry scratches behind his ear a little bit. "I'm gonna be friar one day."

Cera doesn’t go to close to Oz or Torry, but she watches them closely and looks at the berries.

Oz smiles "That will be nice Torry, I am sure Zoomy is teaching you a lot"

Cera slips a little closer to them, she looks at the berries again.

Torry frowns a little bit. "Hasn't taught me a thing..." he pouted, before climbing onto the table with the berries. "Gonna make a pie anyhow!"

Oz frowns and stands, still holding a sleeping hare, "No climbing Torry, do get down right now." A couple dibbuns still in the room frown "oh-oh" one mutters.

Torry blinks, and whimpers softly, climbing back off the table. "But I wanna make a pie..."

Cera smiles, maybe a berry will fall off the table, she slips under the table and looks up.

Zoomy yawns curled up atop a stack of flour bags. He raises up eyes closed with grogginess. Slowly he raises his paws up and rubs the sleep from his eyes... To be shocked to see other beasts in his kitchen. His eyes flash about taking in everyone and then he moans in terror. Dibbuns...

Oz blinks as Zoomy wakes "Umm..Zoomy?..Interesting choice of a bed."

Cera eyes go wide in horror and she looks like she seen a ghost, she hisses loudly and dives behind Oz and hisses more at Zoomy!

Torry blinks, and looks over to Zoomy... before flat-out laughing. "Zoomy's sooo lazy!"

The couple other dibbuns, an otter and a mouse blink at Zoomy and giggle. But they stay by Oz.

Zoomy is a bit shocked by the ferret maid’s reaction, but he chuckles at Oz and Torry before

replying to Oz's question, “Well I was tired and somebody had to eat...erm... I mean cook all the good food there was for breakfast."

Oz frowns "Well don't eat too much food, will need some for winter." He looks to the dibbuns and looks at Cera.

Cera stays behind Oz, she frowns as she is looked at and moves to go under a chair, she watches them all.

Torry sticks his tongue out to Zoomy. "Zoomy's gonna get bigger than the abbey! Hehe!"

Zoomy frowns at Oz, “I hardly eat that much,”, He turns to Torry, “Contrary to what little dibbuns think."

Oz nods, he sighs at Cera and lets her stay where she is but keeps an eye on her still “OH yes" He looks at Zoomy "Me and the dibbuns have brought back berries."

Torry giggles happily, and decides to go over and give Zoomy a happy little hug. "Lots of berries!"

Cera stays under her chair, she then slowly comes out from under it and looks back and forth, she is still a little leery of the abbey beasts.

Zoomy eyes the berries with a seemingly critical eye before returning Torry's hug with a smile. "Good picking I see. I take it you were planning on making something?"

Oz smiles, he watches as the mouse and otter dibbun leave, leaving him with a sleeping hare dibbun, Torry and Cera for the dibbuns, he yawns a little and sits down in a chair as he had been standing.

Torry nod nods happily, and lets the hug go after a few moments. "Berry pie."

Cera looks at Oz and slowly makes her way over to him and looks up at him as she stays by his footpaws,she looks at the sleeping hare and back to him.

Zoomy smiles at Torry, “And where you going to make it Torry?"

Torry holds his paws out, in a manner to say "Here!"

Oz smiles, he looks at Cera and offers a smile, he carefully makes room for her and still holds the hare dibbun.

Cera tilts her head and starts to hiss, then slowly climbs into the badgers lap, she studys the rest of them and looks at Oz, she decides to stay in her lap but still keeps an eye on everyone, including Oz.

Zoomy raises an eyebrow, “Taking over my kitchen for the moment then? Then please don't let me stop you!". Zoomy hands Torry his apron and ladle for fun.

Torry blinks, and blushes softly, taking it. "But I don’t know how to cook."

Oz watches them and chuckles softly, he smiles at Cera and lets her stay in his lap.

Cera yawns and curls up in Oz lap and soon is asleep.

Zoomy leans down and whispers into Torry's ear, “Want me to help? We can make it look like it's all you."

Torry giggles sheepishly, and nod nods happily.

Oz smiles, he now has a sleep hare and a ferret in his lap, he makes sure both are alright and won’t fall off his lap.

Zoomy picks up Torry and sets him on a short stool in front of a huge mixing bowl. He leans in and whispers, “Tell me to go get some flour and put it in the bowl."

Torry smiles up at Zoomy happily at the whisper, and nods. "Zoomy, will you please go get some flower, and put it in the bowl for me?"

Zoomy tugs up a great big bag and pours a little into the bowl, “Yes Friar Torry."

Oz watches them and drifts off to sleep, Starlight and Cera still in his lap, but a protective arm is keep around them both.
