Dibbun Born Early!

Rayen decides a walk in the woods near the abbey will clear some stress, it only makes it worse and she slips into a faint and the only one to help her is a hare who hates foxes! =

Rayen had decided to slip out for a walk, something she did every few days and usually on her own. She did have her longbow and dagger with her, just in case. She also decided to collect some of the fallen leaves and enjoy their orange, reds, and yellows.

Also out was Flare, he had been at the abbey or around Mossflower area the past few weeks. Today he was on the lookout for trouble, mainly the vermin kind. He had his dirk and kept very alert. But he also was about to start a long trip.

Rayen softly sings a simple tune as she gets some leaves of different kinds, shapes, sizes and colors. Some are solid color and some a mix of fall colors. She places them in a knapsack and will dry them out once she is home. She stops and sways her tail back and forth as she lays a paw on her midsection and frowns, a small pain but maybe she is just bending down too much she decides and decides to be more careful.

Thunderwing is flying overhead and then lands on the dirt road and looks around.

Flare looks around, ears perked, he sees and walks over “Hey, any news? Updates?”

Rayen is close by in the clearing and has been trying to relax, some back pain and other pain has only gotten worse and she begins to think it’s something else and sits down worried a little as it’s too painful to walk back to the abbey.

Thunderwing shakes his head at the hare,” No updates maybe back abbey we go?”

Flare sighs, “Maybe your right.” His ears perk up as he listens to sounds around him, “Maybe we should get to the abbey, they are having a feast in like soon, they may need help eating the food so less of it goes to waste” He grins at the joke, or maybe he isn’t joking as he is a hare after all.

Rayen frowns and stands only to yelp in pain and drops to her knees, she whimpers as pain goes through her body and tries to use a tree to stand only to fall onto her side, luckily she doesn’t injure herself, but now she is lying on the forest floor in a lot of pain.

Thunderwing hears the vixen and looks towards the clearing.

Flare draws his dirk and rushes over to and enters the clearing, upon seeing a vixen he narrows his eyes and angles his weapon ”A vermin….” He hisses.

Rayen looks up and gasps, “Wait…ohhhhhhh” She groans and curls up a little shivering, she tries to reach for her knapsack, it’s full of the colored leaves but also herbs and healer supplies. She normally has on an acorn pin but the part that pins it on broke, so she placed it by her nightstand..at home. She frowns and looks at the hare and large bird.

Thunderwing comes flying over and tilts his head “Foxbeast..healer be, mate to the one fox..”

Flare keeps his eyes on Rayen,” Mate to wot fox? Does it matter all foxes are vermin and thus evil and thus shouldn’t stay alive…” He walks closer and studies her, “Wait for what reason?”

Rayen pants and shivers, “I…” She frowns and whimpers as a pain comes and goes..”Baby…” It’s clear with a closer look as the cloak opens up to show her dress and the fact, yep, she is with dibbun and very clear also she may have it soon, but soon may end up being now as she whimpers in pain , as well as fear of the hare.

Thunderwing answers”Champfox..one that mistook for Borafox once.Thunderwing says this his foxmate, so she rare goodfox beast , not badfox beast”

Flare raises an eyebrow and lowers the dirk, “Flicktail’s mate?” He shakes his head and goes to leave the clearing as he says “It’s best you go home vixen, not many will have knowledge of who you are.”

Rayen frowns, she yelps as more pain comes and calls out “Please..please help me, I..I can’t get up very well, I can’t walk like this! Please..my..the dibbun is coming!”

Thunderwing puffs out, he is not one that knows a single thing on dibbuns or newborn ones and looks at the hare.

Flare slowly turns around , “The wot is coming?” He hopes in his mind he misheard what she said.

Rayen whimpers as she gets out “Baby…” She looks at him with pleading eyes, she needs help and she can’t very well help herself in a case like this and none of the other abbey healers are even outside today. She looks scared and worried, and in pain as well.

Thunderwing fixes a few feathers,” Foxbeast needs help, someone gonna getta help?”

Flare frowns and walks forwards, he may not like foxes but he keeps seeing Rosewater and only frowns more. He slips off his traveling cloak and places it around the vixen and rips off a small part of the cloak and wets it with some water he has and places it on her forehead, he turns to the eagle “Ok you go get a healer, I can stay and watch over her”

Rayen tries to relax now that she knows the hare is not a threat now, but pain still comes and gets worse as she whimpers and lays there trying to get comfortable and finding it hard to do so.

Thunderwing bops his head and flies off towards the abbey quickly.

Flare looks back to the vixen “I..won’t harm you or the child, now we wait and you can wait to have the dibbun till a healer comes”

Rayen looks at the hare like he is insane ”A….A dibbun doesn’t..ooooo..wait, it’s coming now whether you want it to or not.” Her ears go flat, she knows what she is talking about.

Flare blinks and his eyes go wide, “Wot!! Now? Noo..make it wait!!” Yes he is panicking now.

Rayen frowns, “Sorry..” She yelps in pain, “You have to help me..now not later.” She is also bleeding some and starts to look panicked herself.

Flare looks like he rather faint or run, but he takes a deep breath and gulps, he then gets ready to help her best he can “Umm..o..ok just tell me wot to bally well do or..just ummm…yeah”

Rayen nods and breaths in and out slowly, she manages to relax a little and frowns, pain and she is not in the abbey.

Flare frowns too, but for a different reason as he looks around, unsure of what to do.

Rayen knows what to do, it’s a healer and mother type of thing, she knows when to push and what to tell him is needed, it’s painful but after half an hour a baby is born, but what she be heard is crying, but its silent as the vixen frowns deeply “N..No…it’s..whats wrong!?”

Flare is just glad what he sees as the worse part of his day is over, he frowns as he may not know much on newborns but he does know they wail when born. He carefully picks up the newborn and rubs its chest and wraps it in his tunic to try and warm it some. He also rubs its back and cleans its nose and mouth..well least he is trying.

Rayen watches and starts to get tears in her eyes, she looks down and whimpers as she feels faint now, it also seems the dibbun was born maybe 3-4 weeks earlier than it should have been. She also feels faint, but doesn’t say anything as she is more concern for the child than herself.

Flare looks at the vixen” No..Don’t pass out!” He looks around and goes to wipe at the newborns nose again and try and get it warm.

Suddenly the hare is rewarded with a loud wail as the small newborn starts to cry, it’s unclear if it’s a boy or girl yet as it’s wrapped up in the tunic.

Rayen sighs in relief and reaches for her child, she will hold the newborn close, and has decided she can see if it’s a boy or girl later. She looks tried, and still faint like.

Flare leans against a tree and wipes his brow after carefully handing her the newborn. He looks over, he helped a fox and is a bit surprised, but seeing the newborn makes him smile as he says “Congrats...”

Rayen nods and smiles weakly , she is very tried now but happy that her newborn cub is safe, but is she safe or even well right now ?She ends up passing out and loosely holds the dibbun.

Flare looks at her and frowns, “Hey..” He goes to shake her gently.”No..wake up!” He takes her pulse and looks panicked, if something happens he doesn’t want blamed for it.

Thunderwing returns with the only beast he could find, hey he didn’t say whom to get just to get some help and he brought who he found first.

Jase, steps into the clearing, “So whats going on?” He has a healers pack with him “Not to worry I am a healer, Master Healer of Ferravale.”

Rayen stays unconcious and the newborn fox cries, well its lungs seem healthy that’s for sure. The vixen dibbun was born 4-5 weeks early, but the dibbun still seems to be breathing ok, it is smaller than it should be and has a little less fur than it should also. The newborn’s mother is passed out, her breathing and heartrate is good , for now anyways, and there is some bleeding but it has luckily slowed.

Flare turns around and frowns “A Ferravale beast!” He frowns as he takes the newborn and speaks “She just had a dibbun..I..I don’t know maybe it’s a little early? She passed out and there is blood and..well” He frowns and is clueless on what to do or how to explain this.

Thunderwing just stays where he is “I find him in woods collecting herbs..he is a healer so Thunderwing bring him.”

Jase nods and checks Rayen over, he mixes an herb in water and crushes it so he can get her to drink it by rubbing her throat. He then goes to checking her pulse, breathing, any other signs that’s important and stands after a while and looks at the infant, “It’s never a good thing to be unconcious after giving birth. Let me check the infant please.”

Flare carefully hands the feline the small newborn , but he also stays close as he doesn’t know this cat so it pays to be careful.

Jase looks the dibbun over and hands him back” Ok you need to get the dibbun to the caretaker at the abbey, and I will keep an eye on the vixen till you return, if you can with someone to help get her back to the abbey . She can’t stay in the woods in this condition as she needs to stay warm, not over warm but warm.”

Flare frowns, he takes the dibbun “But..wot about like milk?”

Rayen stays unconcious and the newborn starts to cry, very loudly.

Jase frowns, “I..am unsure, a wet nurse maybe or a bottle maybe, I am sure the abbey has a way to help the infant somehow, it’s mother right now can’t and it will need milk soon.”

Thunderwing tilts his head and mainly listens, he then bops his head “It is loud…very loud” The eagle decides to fly towards Ferravale, one to get away from loud newborns and two, to let Ferravale know where their main healer is .

Flare sighs as the eagle flies off, he looks down at the newborn fox in his arms and then towards the road, “Fine, I will…get the child to the abbey and get one of their healers here or..well someone to help.” He then goes through the woods carefully, one never knows if there is friends or foes around.

Jase watches the hare go and can only hope the hare can be trusted, he looks back to the vixen and sighs, he has done what he can to help her.

Rayen moves a little as she seems to toss and turn in her faint and shivers just slightly. Seems she has a fever developing and is still unconcious, neither is good right now.
