Crazy. Then Happy. Then Hungry.
Characters: Fira, Aikuen
Location: Outside. Village
A cold wind's blown in but it's still staying relatively dry as Fira's chosen to lurk about just outside the cabin. She's not quite over the morning sickness so an extra early morning of that and she's stopped outside with a cup of tea to watch the sea while the sun's still rising.
Aikuen had awoken to find that... she is not there. That's happens a lot. Just to be expected. He yawns and stretches a bit...more like sprawls... taking the whole dang bed for himself. At least until she got back. The otter tries to go back to sleep. But cant. Sigh. He gets up, and rubs the sleep from his eyes. He is just going to pop outside to check up on Fira. And if she is somewhere else. Gives him time to work on his gift. He hops down the stairs quietly to not disturb the others, as they are still sleeping away. He steps outside and looks around. He spots Fira looking off into the ocean. He smiles and slowly walks up beside her. Don't want to scare her so early in the morning. He smiles and takes her paw, "Morning Love..." a little rub.
Fira is entirely lost in thought and blinks, looking round when her paw's touched. She's used to being snuck up on by now anyway and she gives him a tiny smile when she sees it's him "Hey...I was going to come back in a minute really"
Aikuen smiles and plants a small one on her, "Sure you were... but now that we are here... We can watch the rest of the sun rise... together..." he chuckles and wraps an arm around her. Looking off toward the ocean, as the sun creeps ever higher toward the sky.
Fira leans her muzzle away so the kiss can only reach her cheek. Hey, she's still feeling queezy and uncomfortable right now. She does just lightly lean into his side though "I'm not sure how much of it is left anymore"
Aikuen can figure out why she leans her muzzle away. Why do you think Aik is being really calm right now? Don't want to upset her stomach anymore than it already is. The otter shrugs a shoulder lightly, "Well... Then we can watch the sun... rise into the sky..." he chuckles.
Fira smirks just faintly, little amused "Well it's not like I had plans for the day" sipping on her tea at last rather than just keeping her paws warm with it.
Aikuen chuckles, "Neither did I. Well except one thing... But i cant tell you what it is!" he grins, "Nope..." and he looks back at the ocean, where the sun is now over the sea line, and continues to shine. Its getting harder to look in that direction, because of it. Aik doesn't need tea to keep warm. His furry wife, does it for him.
Fira tilts her head and does give him a curious look "You'll tell me sooner or later" she sounds very sure of that. She can't keep her eyes on the sun for long either, mostly as she has to lip read.
Aikuen smiles and winks, "Oh... You find out soon enough!" he grins. He is making a present for her. And hopefully he can get it done in the next few weeks. He now keeps his gaze on her while the sun is getting in his eyes. He just looks into her eyes, with a small smile.
Fira looks suspicious, well she's not exactly distracted by other things right now "Come on then, what is it?"
Aikuen eyes for a moment, "If you kiss me first... then... Ill think about giving you a hint, at what is it..." he grins.
Fira pauses for a moment before sticking out her tongue and wrinkling her snout "Maybe later" she's not quite herself yet this morning.
Aikuen sticks his tongue, right back at her, "Then I will tell you... Maybe later!" he smiles and rubs her side a little bit, and just watches her for a moment. Drinking the tea. After a bit he rests his head on her shoulder. Just realizing. Its nice.
Fira will probably regret it later but she's just starting to get a little dose of crazy hormones as her mind's concentrating on her general discomfort, so she rolls her shoulder.
Aikuen has his head rolled right off her shoulder. He frowns slightly and and looks away. He understands, but still. He wasn't really doing anything. Just laying it there. He feels slightly saddened now. He sighs and tries to smile at her again, "Want me to get you anything?"
Fira doesn't look at him cause somewhere she feels bad already...and angry at herself...and angry at the child and him and everything is AAARRRRRGGG!...Ok, deep breath. She can control it, bury it back down again. Just because she feels ill and all stretched about is no reason to take it out on him. Still, tread lightly dear husband. She doesn't really see his words but feels the need to speak anyway "I'm fine, sorry...Kid must be having fun today" still forcing control on herself.
Aikuen nods, and pretends like he didn't say anything. Don't upset the crazy pregnant lady! He then smiles warmly at her to try and help her feel better, "Its perfectly alright darling... Here" he lets her go and runs out into the street. He looks back at her and says, "Please sit down, my gorgeous wife. Because... Now presenting the amazing otter!" Ta da!" he makes a stupid pose. Then he stands back up and says, "Look at him... do the whirly!" and he jumps, lands on his footpaws and then falls to the ground. He stands back up and makes a big show of rubbing his...face? He laughs. Hopefully this will help. If not. Have to try something else.
Fira doesn't sit right away but tilts her head instead, frowning in puzzlement as she tries to work out what he's up to. Of course then she just looks surprised and by the time he falls over she does snort in amusement, there's even a smirk. Well it's a distraction and she probably did need one.
Aikuen is a distraction! Glad to be of help. When she snorts, and he sees that lovely smirk. His heart is lifted once more. He smiles and says, "Now watch as i make a random otter... upside down..." he makes a motion of grabbing a passing beast, though there is nobeast there "Excuse me good sir. What if i told you, that i could flip you upside down..." the otter jump into place of the 'other otter', "I don't know my good beast. It may be hard to believe... I will, tell you, when i see it!" jumps back to the other place, "Its simple my friend. WATCH!" he starts to make motions with his paw. Big wavey ones. He then jump back quickly and does and pawstand. He looks over to Fira, "Well boy howdy. You did flip me upside down... i never would have believed it!" he makes a pose with his legs. Just for flourish.
Fira shakes her head slowly but finally does laugh when he goes upside down "I married a silly comedian, there should have been warning of this in your vows" he has helped though. Made her cheer up a bit which improves everything.
Aikuen smiles, in his upside down form, "Thank you. And there was... it was in the fine print." he chuckles and falls backwards landing on his back. He ows and stands up, rubbing his back a bit. That hurt more than it looked. But he keeps up his smile. Must keep it up for her, "And now... i will make a very beautiful... and lovely... and gorgeous... and even more adjectives that describes this otter..." he then points to his face, "Smile!" He chuckles and holds out a paw for her... OH WAIT! He then jump in front of him, "Aha. I make a good volunteer... Don't yah think?" he grins.
Fira actually moves to help him back up again but he's up and onto the next act in his little street performance. She continues to smirk at him, raising a brow as he jumps into what almost seemed as though it was her place.
Aikuen is enjoying this, "Now Fira... Oh my lovely wife. How are you going to make me... Smile!" and there in lies the joke!
Fira doesn't really know the joke herself, she's just being her as she leaves the remains of her tea on the ground and walks over, placing one paw on his cheek before she gives him a long soft kiss before she looks him back in the eyes "Thank you for reminding me why I love you so much"
Aikuen is a bit surprised by the kiss. Didn't think she would do that. Oh well, he is not complaining. No one bit! After she pulls away he looks back into her eyes, and smiles, "Not a problem... I love you. And... I'm glad to be there for you... And... You won..." he chuckles, not removing his gaze. Nope. Cant make him.
Fira smirks back at him "Well I'm your wife, that'll happen a lot...do I get that hint now too?" she hasn't forgotten and she's feeling a lot better, she may as well drag the truth out of him.
Aikuen chuckles, "Aye. But i like it when you win!" he grins and nods, "Sure Fi! You kissed me... and it is later! Ill just show you!" he chuckles and reaches into his cloak and pulls out medium sized smooth rock from the ocean. The rock has green quartz mixed into it. He holds it out for her, "See..." he points to the top, where tiny writing can be seen. Engraved into stone, 'Fira, with this ring, I give you my promise. That from this day forward. You will not walk alone. My heart will be your-' and it stops. The otter is engraving the vows into the stone, "I'm not quite done. Hopefully i will get it done before out first season anniversary..." he hmms.
Fira looks curiously at the rock and takes it from him to read, a little smile appearing as she recognises the words "Awwww" looking back to him, she could so easily swing the other way and go teary, she's still good for now at least "Hard to believe we're nearly to an anniversary already"
Aikuen smiles and chuckles a bit, "Yep... Only a few weeks away..." he takes the rock back so he can finish it up later, "I plan to write mine on one side... then yours on the other. Something to remember them by. Forever. And something to keep by us. Always!" he grins, and hug her a little bit, with a small kiss on the cheek. Before smiling back at her, "I though it was a nice idea..."
Fira hugs him back and noses at his cheek lightly "It is a nice idea. Always knew you had a fluffy soft side...I'm going to have to get a present now and I hope you realise it's never going to be as good as that" she seems happy despite this.
Aikuen grins and noses her back, "Yep. And my soft fluffy side says that you don't have to give me anything. You already gave me the greatest present anybeast can give another" he kisses her softly, "You... That doesn't even compare to the rock... It just cant compete..." he chuckles and says, "You actually gave me two presents... You..." and a small caress of her bump, "And that... I owe you something else now..." he grins and chuckles.
Fira laughs quietly and wraps her paws around him to just settle into his side "Well I'm not keeping count, particularly for things I'm not really in control of"
Aikuen gives her a tiny little squeeze, and chuckles, "Its still the greatest. A present that walks and talks, and loves you back..." he grins, "Its the best. Just like you!" he chuckles and wraps his arm around her, so she can better settle. Plus he likes it, "Please don't keep count. Or by the time our second anniversary rolls around. I'm going to be so far in the hole. Don't know how i will ever get out!"
Fira smiles softly and just rests her head against his shoulder "Oh don't worry, clearly you can dance your way out of anything...and if that fails, try standing on your head" she smirks.
Aikuen rubs his head against her when she puts it down, just for the heck of it. He then chuckles, "Ill try. Though i don't think that will work all the time. I'm going to need fresh material!" he chuckles, "Lets see..." he looks into her eyes, "How do i make an otter... who is more beautiful then the ocean is deep. Who brings a smile to my face, when i am most down... Who can make me the happiest beast in the world, just by looking at me. How do i make her... truly happy." he says the last part softly, though that wont matter much to her. Still being soft, this otter.
Fira smiles back at him softly and goes to give his nose a nuzzle after a minute "You can bring me out some breakfast" she knows perfectly well it's probably not the answer he was looking for but it amuses her.
Aikuen blinks a few times and chuckles. No, not quite the answer he was looking for. But he will be more then glad to do so. He grins at the nuzzle and kisses her nose as she moves away, "Sure thing... What would you, and your bump, like to have this morning!?"
Fira actually stops to think about it "Hmm...you know I'd really rather like some scones, not with the nuts in, no nuts at all...maybe a little cream and a dab of apple sauce on top?" it's not even that odd so far.
Aikuen tilts his head at her, "Scones minus nuts. Cream. Apple sauce... Got it..." he thinks about it, "That means i need to go buy. Scones minus the nuts. Cream. And apple sauce." he he has got none of those. He chuckles. No its not odd. Just out of the norm from what he normally buys. He grins, "Now you can either wait here... and wait for me to get back" he holds out his arm toward her, "Or you can come along!" he would like the company. Still up to her though.
Fira smirks faintly and takes the arm. If she goes with him she'll get a walk and get the food soon "I'll try and pick something we actually have next time"
Aikuen smiles and winks at her. He looks surprised, "Gasp! There is a pretty otter on my arm! I know what i have to do!" he kisses her softly, and starts off down the road. He nods, "Good. Or else your gonna have to eat biscuits for a bit!" he grins and tries to nuzzle her, "Do you think we should stockpile?" he laughs.
Fira smirks faintly and aims a bat at his arm "Oh hush, I'm not quite that bad yet...though the more we have the more I'll probably end up eating"
Aikuen sticks his tongue back at her, after the bat, "Whatever makes you happy! I fill up Kentar's cabin to the brim with food, if you asked!" he grins, "So... The market place? Or the wharf? I wonder if we can find a cafe or something. And then we can have brunch!" as he leads her down the side street that they went down a few days ago. A few open stalls line the street. Not many as its still early for some. Some of the stall owners wave as they pass.
Fira chuckles quietly "I don't know how Kentar would like that. Which ever's closer and has food. Now we're started talking about it I think I'm getting hungrier"
Aikuen nods a bit with a smile, "I'm sure Kentar wouldn't mind. I'm sure the otter family wouldn't mind either!" he laughs, "The market is closer. After we eat we can go check out the wharf..." he makes a left turn down the alley, heading toward an area where there seems to be a lot of beasts running around, and many many stalls are set up. He chuckles at the last bit, and makes a goofy comment, "I am getting hungry..." he leans in and kisses her neck, "Just not for food..." he chuckles as he leads her into the market place. Which is the town square.
Fira sniffs at the air, picking up on the smell of food. Laughs at the kisses as they tickle a bit and she waves him off with a paw "You should know better than to try and distract me from food at the moment"
Aikuen says, "I should know better!... Think i would learn!... Think i would try!" he grins and plants another kiss on her before he says, "Go... Follow your nose. Get whatever!" he nudges her, "RUN!" just kidding of course, unless she wants too. Fira can be excitable for once!
Fira laughs once more and manages a hurried walk, going to pull him along by a paw at the same time "Can't without you" he does have the money after all" she stops as soon as a particular smell reaches her, sniffing until she turns towards a stall with a lot of fresh pastries on it "Those smell good" they also have a little crowd for it which she tries to see round.
Aikuen ufs as she pulls him along around the crowd of the market to reach the pastry stall. He chuckles and says, "If they smell good and its what my girl wants! Then ye shall receive!" he chuckles and steps up toward the crowd, also trying to see around. The otter bounces on his footpaws to see above. He nods, "I think i see some scones you like... Come on... lets get in line..." he nods in that direction.
Fira still tries to see round the crowd, just glancing at him from time to time "Some of those pastries too...maybe one of each since I don't know what's in them?"
Aikuen waits in the quickly moving line. "Aye Aye Fi" he gives a small salute to her. They get to the front of the line in the stall, "One of each... and triple up on the nut less ones." The beast behind him blinks at him, "You sure" Aik grins like this is not even a question, "Aye!" He chuckles. The beast still blinks at him before shrugging and going to fill a basket with one of each, plus a bunch of them, without nuts. Aik takes the basket and passes back a handful of gold, That he did not even count. Aik grins, "Mmm, Smells good... Thank ye!" he walks away and holds out one for his wifey, "Here Fi. Try this one..."
Fira manages to wait almost patiently as Aik buys the food but as soon as it's theirs she takes the one she's offered and half of it disappears within seconds. She nods along "Very nice"
Aikuen blinks. One second there is one in his paw, then its gone and in Fira's paw being devoured. He chuckles, "Your cute... when your hungry..." he grins, and grabs her free paw to rub. He leads her off to one side where they wont be bombarded by beasts and holds out a different one and smells it, "So Fi. What's next on your list of cravings?" he looks around to see if he can spot a more specialty store for cream and apple sauce.
Fira snorts at the cute thing, letting him lead her off while she finishes off the food and reaches for another out of the basket "I'm fine, I'm eating. This will do for now" she's probably craving something completely different by now just to be difficult.
Aikuen chuckles at her, "Eat away... got lots of it." he starts to nibble on one, "Mmm... pear..." he hums to himself as he eats. And watches her eat. He barely gets through his half when another one disappears from her paws, "Hehe, Whenever you want something else I'm ready. Ooo." he leads her off to one side of the market and reaches a stall where a lot of otters are packed around. He kisses her, just when she takes another big bite, just for kicks, "Heh. Ill be back!" and he runs off toward the stall. He returns shortly with what looks like a fish on a stick, "Does Fi, want some fishy goodness?" he waves it tauntingly in front of her.
Fira kisses in the way of eating! She doesn't blame him though, just smirks faintly and keeps eating around it all. She looks curious when he runs off too and he's taken the food with him! Seems quite happy when he returns though, could partly be for the fish though which she snatches off of him, looking quite happy "Ooo, fish, very good"
Aikuen chuckles and lets her have it. But he mockingly seems off put, "What the! How dare you! That was my fishy-wishy!" he grins and kisses her again. Afterwards he licks his lips, "Mmmm" he chuckles and takes her paw to go find someplace to sit down and eat. They find a few picnic table set to one side of the square where a few street performers are. Its shady, a nice place to relax while they eat. They find a empty table to sit down at. Aik places the basket on the table so he can slip his arm around her. Fira is more inclined to eating, but she does flop against him happily. Aik doesn't get in the way of her eating, except to nose her cheek every once in awhile. After she got her fill, she rests her head against his shoulder watching the performers doing their tricks. While Aik watches, getting ideas for being another distraction. Eventually Fira starts to drift off on his shoulder. Aik chuckles, and rest his head against hers. Its nice out today.
