Campfire On The Beach

Western Shore

A sea of sand surrounds the magnificent mountain now to your side. The golden sand is flat and hard, easy to walk on. You stand directly between the volcano and the sea. The refreshing sea spray tickles your face as a tropical wind from off the sea whisks it in your direction. The serene roar of the blue-green waves and perhaps the call of a distant gull are typically all that can be heard.

Zee is sitting by a campfire, having stayed in the inn a couple days he choose to stay the past other couple days here it seems, well least the weather has been ok so far, or least no rain.

Also by the campfire, sleeping, is the large eagle Thunderwing.

Leon has ventured out of the mountain and scans the nearby beach area and upon seeing Zee he walks over and stands off to the side." You know it's better to stay somewhere inside than outside sometimes, Flint has mentioned you been at a campfire here past couple days when I thought you were staying at Halyard somewhere."

Zee glances over at the mouse, "So..." He has a little bit of a cough, only a very small one not nearly like a few days ago. “Campfire by de beach is free lad."

Leon frowns at the cough, but he always comes prepared as he clears his throat," I also notice you’re not completely over that bad cold and I know you won't go inside anywhere else so I made a mixture of herbs, my own supply, and placed it in small vials. “Yes he is still basically a walking infirmary even when on trips.

Zee looks at the vials and snorts, "I be fine lad and I am heading back ta Mossflower area tomorrow." He pokes the fire with a stick he has to make sure it doesn’t go totally out.

Leon folds his arms over his chest, “Well, maybe right now but it could get worse again and I rather not hear bad news about you." He gets the vials and holds them out to the badger, “Look, it’s simple one each night, 5 nights, place in like tea or soup and drink it. You can start it tomorrow and have another one now I have..Please Zee" He frowns seeming to be remembering something else in the not so far past, “Age can have a factor in health."

Zee glares slightly at the mouse and then sighs as he takes the vials of herbs and places them in his pocket, and nods "Fine lad." He does have some tea made, just some mint tea...normal mint tea no ale in this one." Gonna stand there or sit down Brother Leon?"

Leon sits down, he takes one last vial he has and goes ahead and places it in some tea and stirs it handing it back to the badger. “Just...one I know Zinnia and Oz rather not lose anyone else so soon. I also know when the former abbot had a cough, it...well wasn't so small as he thought it was and he probably thought it was fine and ignored it till it was too late to do much to help him. He also was fairly old, like...like you" He frowns as he looks down "And not trying to be disrespectful. If I seem so, I am sorry"

Zee let's him place the mixture in the tea and then sips it slowly, he coughs slightly and listens. He doesn’t speak till the tea is drank and sits down an empty cup,"Ya speaking bout Lorimis....never meet him, unless was briefly once. And ya be right, I am old but I also am still fairly healthy." He checks the campfire before speaking," I still have my wits, my strength...well most of my strength, and I can still fight, ya can ask that hare Flint about that. Yes it did tire me out a little, but I also was still tried and got woke up by those two foxes and annoying rat, that I will add are dead, the hare finished off de rat" He still has the bandage on his lower arm in fact from the fight.

Leon nods “I heard about the fight, well that there was one." He points to the bandage "May I see the wound? " He lets the badger decide.

Zee nods and lets him look. The wound is not deep, nor infected. Maybe slightly swollen but not a lot. It is healing very nicely in fact.

Leon examines it and hmmms, "Could of maybe used a couple stiches but I think it will be ok, healing good and no infection just normal swelling." He gets out an herbal mix he keeps made and applies it to the wound before bandaging it in a fresh bandage. “There, just keep it dry and clean ok?"

Zee nods, and looks around the beach, “The ocean is not as interesting as I thought, but hey I got to see it, and thanks for the herbs I will use them not to worry, probably in tea before bed starting tomorrow as ya said"

Leon smiles "That be best and you’re welcome, just stay safe and also not let yourself get ill again"

Zee grins "Not ta worry, I plan to stay safe and not get ill, I disliked not feeling very good. I had been ill a couple days but decided be waste of time to just rest and wanted a better place to rest, then that hare had rat problems, on top of blooming windy, misty rain weather that day, I remembered one rat running off and the other lost his head. The rat that ran away came back yesterday, but this time the rat, and foxes too, died in the fight."

Leon nods "I am glad you’re ok, Flint said you almost got stabbed in the back had he not fired the arrow into the vermin’s back instead. That hare most likely saved your life."

Zee says, "He..DID...and I am glad. I am getting too old for fighting and certainly not a fight before one is fully woken up, it was before blooming breakfast even. But I will still fight as long as able and if it’s needed, but still only as a last resort"

Leon says, "Very wise, having to fight should always be a last resort"

Zee nods, "Yes...anyways I will be around for few hours at my camp. Then will be off" He looks at Leon now" I want ya and Dorarose to make sure Zinnia stays safe for me. And ya tell that Ciocan lad ta do the same. I will send a letter with Thunderwing when I get back to Ferravale, a let ya know I got back home alright.I have this otter that has a boat, told him stay up shore and I be back, he said ok...so going back that way, along de river moss and not as long as walking is."

Leon blinks, did he just call the Badger Lord ..lad? He replies "Ok Zee...and I will let them know to look for an eagle with a letter in like what....couple weeks or ?"

Zee says, "Good and , let’s see..maybe a week and a half, give ..take couple days "

Leon stands and nods "Ok Zee and I should get back before Dorarose worries, I also didn't let anyone know I was heading out, even if I didn’t go too far. Also try to stay out of trouble."

Zee chuckles, "I will try me best, but I do have me nephew’s blade and me special staff with the hidden raspier, plus few brother a badger...well usually few do."

Leon smiles, he then heads on back inside the mountain.

Zee waves and then scans the area as he relaxes....oh look at that, its nap time :)
