Beginning of A Bad Day

Oz is talking with a guard, "I will be back shortly, Sister May can keep an eye on the dibbuns till lunch, I should be back by then or shortly before that, going to deliver some food to a vole maid and her your dibbun in the grasslands, she lives there and needs the extra help, going to try and see if she like to live here." The guard nods.

Desotoe slips into the entry and watches the badger; he walks over and offers a small smile "Hello...Oz, heading out?"

Oz looks at Desotoe, the guard watches too as Oz nods "Not to worry I will keep an eye on him Howell, relax" The guard relaxes as Oz walks over to Desotoe, “You want to gain trust here's a start." He hands him a sack "Carry that you’re be coming with me and doing a good deed?"

Desotoe looks surprised, "Good deed?" He then smiles, "Of course, and I can gain some trust” He takes the sack with his good paw and waits.

Oz looks him up and down, he nods to the guard, "You can stay here Howell, you’re more needed here I think I can handle a one armed ferret by myself, and if he causes trouble I slap him upside of the head." The guard nods. Oz looks at Desotoe "Well come on then.” He heads outside with another sack of food for the family he mentioned.

Desotoe smiles and follows, he does keep the other sack safe as he walks out with the badger and to the dirt road.

  ****On the road****

Oz walks and keeps a close eye on the ferret as he still doesn't trust him but there is the broken arm so he couldn't do much. "This doesn't mean I suddenly trust you Desotoe, this is a way to show me you really can be trusted and you are trying to change your ways."

Desotoe nods as he walks along the road, he smiles to himself as the badger's back is turned to him, "I do understand, trust must be earned as Flicktail said."

Oz listens to the ferret and looks to make sure he is staying beside him, he looks to a small path and a small little mud hut is seen, at the hut there is a vole maid and her 2 season old dibbun, upon seeing Oz the dibbun giggles and runs forwards to hug him. “Papa Oz!"

Desotoe starts to make a face but then coughs instead, he watches the dibbun and sits down the sack he was carrying and looks back and forth, he glances to where the abbey is in the distance.

Oz smiles and hugs the dibbun, he nods to the vole maid, "Greetings Jade, how are you me and..a helper has brought you some food and drink."

Jade smiles at this and smiles towards Desotoe, "Thank you both this will be so helpful." The hut is a little away from the grasslands right by the woods so slightly out of site of the abbey and not to easily seen and that’s how the maid likes it.

Oz smiles again and looks at Desotoe, "Come over here"

Desotoe slowly moves over and sits down the sack he has beside Oz sack and folds his arms over his chest.

Oz hmms as he watches Desotoe carefully, his every move in fact, he stays close to him as he speaks with Jade, "So how are you and young Connor?"

The vole maid smiles "We are fine now" The dibbun looks over at Desotoe and walks over to him, "Are you a friend of Oz? Can we play? What’s your name?"

Desotoe looks at the dibbun and blinks, "Ummm...sure” He offers a smile, "Yes I am, hello there little one."

Connor smiles and lifts his arms up to be picked up. “Up up”

Desotoe looks over at the badger and slowly lifts the dibbun up and smiles at an idea.

Oz keeps an eye on the ferret as he speaks with the mother vole, “You know you and your son is welcome to live at Redwall if you choose to.”

The mother vole nods “I know I know but it’s fine out here and we are happy, my mate always lived here, so did his parents and their parents before them and never had a problem, but we thank you and your friend for the food.”

Oz nods, “He is not really a friend, just a beast helping to deliver the sacks of food to you and your son.”

Desotoe has ahold of the dibbun and looks over at Oz, he offers a smile and looks back to the dibbun thinking deeply.

Oz doesn’t take his eyes off Desotoe and watches him like a hawk, he starts to walk a little closer.

The mother vole looks over at Desotoe and her dibbun to make sure all is ok, she is starting to show some concern for what is happening.

Desotoe doesn’t hurt the dibbun and glances at it, “You ask a lot of questions kid.” He does get a firmer grip on the dibbun with his good arm.

The dibbun smiles, all so trusting as he is a dibbun after all, “Yeah I am Connor, who are you? I am 2 seasons how old you? You want to be friends?”

Oz looks to the vole mother, "Let me know if you decide to at least visit Redwall" The vole mother nodded and smiles. “Sure thing Oz"

Desotoe looks at the dibbun" I am Desotoe Stonefur and..." He pulses and a smile again, this one evil, "Your my captive.” He looks to Oz, "Hear that badger the dibbun is my captive stripe dog!" He then bolts threw the wooded area and towards where he has planned to go.

The vole maid gasps "My baby!! Oz he has my baby!!" Fear in her voice and deep worry.

Oz doesn’t have to be told twice; he growls loudly and gives full chase to Desotoe even before the scream Jade gives.

Desotoe keeps a look over his shoulder and now the dibbun is wailing loudly as it just figured out Desotoe is a bad guy, Desotoe chuckles coldly, "I have the dibbun!! I do!. And soon thanks to me a mouse will die and so will his friend, oh and I have plans for that stupid Flicktail too, so trusting it will be his downfall!!"

Oz can move fast when a captive involves a dibbun, he is not in any bloodwrath as he has learned to control that, still he is not a badger to mess with.

Desotoe keeps ahead of the badger fairly well, he snickers as he purposely makes the badger angrier, "Dum stripe dog, going to have to run faster, catch me! Catch me!"

Oz starts to get out of breath but keeps up, "You..are the one whom will be in bad trouble once I catch you and your be found for the liar and vermin you truly are!”

• • • • • Some woods*****

Desotoe is also a bit out of breath but uses a last bit of energy to make it through the woods, and towards where he needs to go, he barely gets over a log and pants, he has to make it or else this will end badly for him instead of the badger.

Oz runs and bumps into the fallen log and shakes his head, he climbs over it and gives chase again, he is almost caught up to Desotoe now, "Stop Desotoe ya can’t run forever!”

Desotoe smirks and pants, his chest hurts, "Neither can you..s...stripedog!"

Desotoe pants as he holds the dibbun close and looks around; he smirks as he is almost where he needs to be.

Oz is still following him, though he is out of breath now and tried, he also has sprang his ankle so is slowed some cause of it, he pants and looks around.
