Before the fall feast -- October 24, 2014
RW Abbey: Entry/em>
Lorimis the mouse. Zork the badger. DoraRose the mouse. Silverstorm the sea otter.
Lorimis is watching the preparations for the feast and looking up worriedly at the sky, "I agree... it could rain and it is going to get very cold later... make sure the bonfire is larger then that." the brother he is talking to nods and hurries over to murmur to Benar.
DoraRose comes out of the gatehouse wearing a deep blue dress with gold embroidery around the neckline, and an elegant green cape. LilyMoore and Caleb follow her out, then they run over to the pond, where they skip stones and do whatever twins do together. The warrior hurries over to the Abbot, smiling. "Good day, Father." she says as she waves to the squirrel.
Lorimis says, "Ah... DoraRose," he smiles off after the twins and flicks his ears gently, "It is nice to see you," the elderly mouse murmurs and holds out a paw to her and smiles, "How have you been doing?"
DoraRose shakes the Abbot's paw, smiling in return. "I've been well, thank you. I was getting a little stressed about Leon, but then you ordered him to take some time off, so that helped allot. I hope you have been well?"
Lorimis says, "I have been well yes, achey bones and all," he smiles softly, "But I've been doing what I can to help with that and yes Leon needed some time off."
DoraRose nods. "Indeed he did. Y'know, my Nana has this awful smelling rub that she puts of her joints. She swears it works, even though it smells like a bog. Maybe she could give you a jar." The twins can barely be seen, chasing each-other around the firepit.
Lorimis chuckles, "I already asked Angela about that... I decided not to try it. The smell was just too much for my old nose."
DoraRose laughs a little, too. "Ugh, I know. I can't see how she can stand it." She looks around, her earrings glinting in the firelight, then adds, "Do you need any help with anything?"
Lorimis says, "Well right now, Benar has the bonfire going up and Zork is putting the last touches into place on the gate raising. Nothing I can think of I would quite like your company for a bitr as we talk.""
DoraRose shrugs, then pulls her hood up over her ears. "I'm touched. Thank you. Oh! Did you hear about the crazy thing Flicktail did with the training yard?" she is blushing very much right now, for some reason.
Lorimis turns slowly and stares at DoraRose and flics his ears, "No I have not heard what Flicktail did with the training yard.... what?"
Zork makes his way into the entry chatting with a beaver, "Well believe it..." The beaver just gives him a yeah right look to which he frowns at, "Wot ever..."
DoraRose covers her eyes in embarresment. "He /named/ it after me. And, on top of that, he stuck a sign above the door declaring that fact. I am embarressed beyond belief..."
Lorimis says, "Oh my.. that is rather.. odd of him... he really should have asked you first or run it past someone else before... that sort of thing is ah... very personal."
Zork walks over to where Dorarose and Lorimis as, as the beaver he was chatting with heads to the pond.
Silverstorm walks along the path to the entry, upon seeing a couple beasts she doesn't know she slows and stays just off to the side of them.
DoraRose nods. "Yeah. That would've been nice. Then I could've told him 'no'. But he does odd stuff allot." She looks up as she hears someone coming, then smiles as she pulls the hood of her forest green cape farther forward over her head. "Good day, Zork." She smiles at the sea otter and gestures for her to join them, then deep blue of her dress with its gold embroidery setting off the mouse's sky blue eyes nicely.
Lorimis says, "Flicktail is.. very impulses and he doesn't have the best social skills in the world. He does however do a good job as our Champion." he then glances at the other two and smiles, "Hello there Zork, and ah hello to you as well.""
Silverstorm nods "Ello...sorry if interrupting anything just sort of walking around, watching beasts get ready for that feast thing, may or may not attend"
Zork grins "Ya should stay Silverstorm, it be fun and lots of good food"
Lorimis says, "Indeed please do friend otter, all are welcome to the feast. It is in honour of our blacksmith today and our new main gates."
DoraRose's twin Dibbuns pause in their game of chase when they spy the beaver, but they are quickly back to their game. The warrior nods. "Yes, you should stay. It's only at Redwall that you can get free food in large amounts. I'm DoraRose Strongheart, by the way," she adds, extending her paw to the newcomer.
Silverstorm smiles, at first she looks like she rather not shake paws and then finally does "Silverstorm..been thinking of staying here and living...maybe take someone's offer on being an apprintice"
Lorimis asks, "Oh? Who has offered to take you on as an apprentice? Please tell me it wasn't Flicktail, he has his hands full as it is..." he smiles at the otter warmly, "I am Abbot Lorimis, you are most welcome to stay here though for however long you like""
DoraRose shakes the sea otter's paw. "Welcome. It's nice to meet you. I think you should stay. And, yes, do you mind my asking who wants you as their apprentice?" She pulls her cape closed in the front, so all that can be seen is her smiling face.
Silverstorm shakes her head "Oh no, not the fox...still a bit unsure of him but guess he is a...friend." She looks at them both "And its not really wants...don't think, sort of asked course I have yet to say a for sure yes or no, to learn to be a blacksmith"
Lorimis asks, "Oh Zork?" the abbot smiles, "Oh he would be a fine beast to learn from. He is a master Blacksmith, we are very lucky to have him with us.""
Zork listens, "Ya just have ta decide." He nods to Lorimis "I had ment ta let ya know, if its ok with ya if I did have an apprintice and could be helpful ta me later on most likely, even if I dont make too much now "
Silverstorm nods "I will, I will"
DoraRose grins. "That would be wonderful! We could always use more blacksmiths. And I don't blame you about being hesitant about Flicktail. He's....quite a character." The twins, LilyMoore and Caleb, have sat down by the edge of the pond and seem to be whispering to each-other.
Lorimis is standing talking to Dora and Silverstorm and Zork, ""That is quite alright Zork, I would be more then happy for you to take on an apprentice. I am sure you would be a good teacher."
Silverstorm nods "Yeah the fox is...odd"
Zork smiles "Thanks Lorimis." He looks to Dora and starts to say somethin gadn decides to just wait looking back to Lorimis." An apprinctice be good ta have "
DoraRose looks longingly at the tables. "What time is it?" She asks, really hoping that it's time for the feast to start.
Lorimis turns and looks up at the sun and smiles and raises a hand and at this pre-arranged signal the Methuselah bell tolls followed by the Matthias and as the golden song of the bells of Redwall peals out over the abbey the Abbot moves toward his table, gesturing for people to take their places.
