Scioto walks into the house and over to the chair he always sits in and allows himself to fall backwards into it and frowns, looks like he has had a long past week.
Blisa comes out of the kitchen, wearing a form-fitting blue dress with a belt around her waist, holding her knife and dirk. Her face wreaths in smiles as she sees her father. "Dad!" She walks over to him, her arms out for a hug. She is starting to look more like a cat than a kitten, as one can tell by looking at her face and her figure. She's still kind of short, but she's okay with that now.
Scioto smiles as he is hugged and hugs her as well, "Blisa..oh I have missed you, I didn’t mean to be gone for so long I am sorry"
Blisa rests her head on his shoulder. "It's okay, I know you didn't mean to. We didn't have very many problems here, although a couple of tax collectors did come...I dealt with them, though, don't worry," she quickly adds, not wanting her father to worry. She just hopes that no one tells her about the assassination attempts and stuff...
Scioto nods, "I am glad you’re not hurt, was anyone hurt here or...?" He seems almost afraid to ask if anyone died." I am glad the village is ok and Marek didn’t do anything here"
"Well..." Blisa scratches an ear tip in a slightly nervous fashion. "Tavis from the Mossflower Militia came here and helped us defeat Marek...but he apparently turned on us, 'cause DoraRose told me that she and a squirrel had to fight him and Basil killed him." She thinks a bit more. "My bodyguards had to fight of some beast who tried to hurt me, but he's not in Ferravale anymore. He thought I was a horrible leader simply because I'm small," she adds in an upset sort of way
.
Scioto listens carefully, at the mention of some beast trying to harm her he growls low and nods "Well I will not allow any beast wishing to harm you into Ferravale and most guests should be gone now anyways"
Blisa sits beside her father and tilts her head as she thinks. "There was this wildcat named Eliana who was looking for some beast to set the gems she had brought, to set up a trade. I suggested that she sell the loos gems herself and let the buyers worry about getting them set. She seemed quite taken with that idea. I was about to arrange getting her a home when we retook Redwall."
Scioto nods "I think I meet her briefly after I got back home, I was tried and we didn’t talk much. I am just glad to be back, Being at the abbey that long was annoying"
Blisa nods, then grins. "Yeah, Marek was pretty annoying. And it must've been awful trying to not offend the Abbey beasts and Marek's hordes beasts at the same time. I wonder if you have any grey hairs," she teases, then begins jokingly looking at the back of her father's head.
Scioto folds his arms over his chest “Not yet I don’t think and now that I am back I am once more in charge, any abbey beast here was asked to go back to the abbey and hopefully they did"
Blisa looks hurt. "I know that! And I'm okay with you being Chieftain now! I want you to be Chieftain! I missed you, and being the leader of this village gave me indigestion and nightmares! Why did you think I wanted to still be Chieftain?!" She stands and stares at him.
Scioto hugs her "I didn’t say you still had to be in charge and I was just letting you know so you would know to relax now." He smiles "It does seem you did a good job while I was gone though"
Blisa can't help but feel pleased at the compliment, and she decides to just let her hurt go as she hugs him back. "Thanks, Dad. It was so hard, but DoraRose and Ferdinand helped allot." A crash can be heard from the kitchen, followed by a string of jibberish that sounds like someone trying very hard to not cuss. The door opens and the aforementioned ferret comes stumping in on a pair of crutches, his right leg held stiffly beneath him as his arms and left leg support his entire weight.
Scioto nods, and as the crash is heard he draws his sword and starts to head that way, then he recognizes the voice and relaxes as he lowers his sword, "Greetings Ferdinand, are you doing alright?"
Ferdinand glares daggers at his boss, but manages to keep his voice polite as he says, "No. I wath hungry and I can't get food with these stupid crutcheth." Blisa comes forward and raises her paws placidly. "Ferdy, you heard what DoraRose's nana told you. You need to sit down and let me get you your food. What do you want?" The ferret snarls as he stumps over to a chair and flops into it. "I have no idea. Pleathe don't, Mith Blitha. I'll get it later....sigh..." she goes into the kitchen, and her bodyguard covers his eyes as he suppresses a groan.
Scioto keeps calm as he is glared at, "Well I see you’re in a not so great mood" He then adds "By the way thank you for helping make sure Blisa stayed safe, I was very worried about her while I was trapped in the abbey.." He shakes his head and sighs “I don’t plan to go back for a very very long time"
Ferdinand smiles faintly at the gratitude sinks in through waves of pain emanating from his thigh. "It'th my honour and duty, Thir. I am proud to have her ath a friend, athwell. You are welcome." He shifts and groans, gently setting his injured leg on a footstool.
Scioto smiles "Well Now I just need to relax, seems things are fairly well in Ferravale, no troubles and that’s good"
Ferdinand smiles. "Yeth, jutht relax, Thir. I tried to make thure that Blisa didnt' meth up the village too much. She did a pretty dethent job...right?" Blisa comes back in with a tray laden with cheese buns (snitched from Basilisk's stash), a salad, some cookies, and a piece of dried fish. "I found this dried fish in the marketplace. I like it. What do you think?" She gives her bodyguard the tray and hands her father another piece that was wrapped up in the napkin.
Scioto says, "The village looked fine to me, maybe a little less tense beasts now that any woodlanders seeking a place to stay a while left""
Blisa tugs on her father's shirt. "Dad, do you like the fish? It tastes a little funny, but I like it. Oh, and I forgot to tell you that Baisl threatened to eat some creatures. I bopped him on the nose." Ferdinand looks pleased at his bosses answer, then gags as he takes a bite of dried fish. "Thith ith dithguthting!" he manages to say after a few minutes of trying to not vomit from the taste.
Scioto looks down at his daughter "Maybe I will try it later on and if it tastes funny why eat it? Maybe try something different"
Blisa shrugs. "I think's it's good! Oh, it's not that bad!" she adds, turning to her bodyguard, who is wiping his tongue with the napkin. "You're right," he says, setting down the napkin and picking up the cheese bun. "It'th worthe."
Scioto manages a chuckle. "Well. everyone has things they like and dislike as all beasts are different"
Ferdinand nods sagely. "Lithten to your father. He ith very withe," he says before taking a bite of cheesy bread goodness. Blisa scowls, then eats the piece of dried fish she had been holding out to her father. "Oh! Tavis was the only beast from he Mossflwoer Militia I saw. And he's dead now. I don't know if they'll be coming after us because Basil killed him or not...."
Scioto tilts his head "The who?"
Blisa stares at her father, askance. "The vermin-hating militia group! I thought....I was sure you knew about them! They kill foxes and cats and ferrets and stuff just because they are speciesist!" Ferdinand blinks. "I don't think that'th a word..."
Scioto says, "I had not, sounds like a group to keep away from Ferravale""
Blisa nods vigorously. "He called me a wild card, but when I asked him what that meant, him didn't answer, which was irritating. The Militia only helped defeat Marek because they saw him a greater threat than they see us as." Ferdinand nods. "I think they might attack uth if we give them an opportunity."
Scioto says, "Well we won't. I have many guards still and we have a seer on our side"
Blisa grins mischievously. "And a snake. Don't forget the snake." Ferdinand rolls his eyes and mutters something about wanting to forget the snake.
Scioto nods "Yes I know of the snake, I saw it briefly during the battle at Redwall"
Blisa claps her paws. "Wasn't he just so creepy? I love how he almost turned the tide of the battle! I should go check on him and told I took one of his cheese buns..." she rushes off to talk to her snake friend. Ferdinand rolls his eyes. "He did not turn the tide of the battle...oh good grief..." He sighs, then pushes his empty try to the side, and, closing his eyes, leans back in the chair and dozes fitfully.
Scioto watches his daughter head off and the bodyguard goes to sleep and smiles as he leans back in his chair, he probably needs a nap himself.
